I had always wanted to see Jomon Sugi, so I was looking forward to climbing with the guide, hearing various stories, and safely enjoying the experience. However, it turned out to be a very disappointing experience.

We climbed with six people, including the guide. At first, I thought the pace on the trolley path was a bit fast, but I kept up. Once we reached the rocky area, the distance between us gradually widened, and I felt that the guide didn't check on us at all. I thought they wouldn't notice if we got injured. On the way back, we were tired, and the gap between those who could keep up and those who couldn't became quite large. The guide sternly told us, "Don't leave too much distance!" but there was no sign of them adjusting the pace for us. The rocky area was slippery, and since I wasn't used to it, I was anxious about keeping up, which made me lose my balance while descending. When another participant asked the guide to wait, they responded with an angry expression and a harsh tone, saying, "There's nothing I can do!!" Normally, wouldn't you ask, "Are you okay?" Even when I expressed that I wanted them to slow down a bit, they said that wasn't possible.

Later, when we reached a rest area, in front of many people from another tour, the guide loudly said, "It's a group tour, so we can't adjust to the pace of just two people," and "You're out of shape," which made me feel very embarrassed and unpleasant. I never asked them to adjust to our pace, and was it really necessary to say that in front of so many people? When I asked what would happen if we got injured from rushing, they said, "You just have to try hard."

What surprised me was that when we arrived at the next rest area, the guide was smoking, and when they returned, their attitude completely changed. They asked, "Does your foot hurt? I have a supporter. You should stretch!" as if they were a different person. Towards the end of the tour, they had the participants walk at the front while they walked at the very back. The person who had scolded us for leaving distance was now chatting with another participant and creating a gap between us.

In summary, I couldn't enjoy nature at all and had an unpleasant experience on this tour. It may depend on the guide, but my satisfaction with this particular guide was the worst. I will advise my friends to avoid this tour when they go to Yakushima.

前から縄文杉を見てみたかったので、ガイドさんと一緒に登って色々な話を聞き安全に楽しく登れることを期待していましたが、とても残念な体験になりました。
ガイドの方と我々含め6名で登りました。最初のトロッコ道、何となくハイペースだなと思いながらも着いていきました。トロッコ道が終わり岩場に差し掛かると、徐々に距離があいていきましたが、ガイドさんは後ろを振り向いて確認することもなく、私達が怪我をしても気付かれないんだろうなと思いました。帰りは疲れていたのもあり、ペースについていける人との差が大きく開くことも。ガイドさんから「距離を空けないように」と厳しく言われ、ペース配分を調整してくれる気配は一切ありませんでした。岩場は滑りますし、慣れていないのに加えて、ペースに着いていかなくてはと焦り態勢を崩しながら岩場を降りていたので、足が攣りそうになってしまい、同じツアー参加者の方がガイドさんに待ってくださいと声をかけると、怒った表情と厳しい口調で「どうにもできないよ！！」と言われました。普通なら「大丈夫ですか？」と声をかけるべきじゃないでしょうか…少しペースを落としてもらいたい旨を伝えても、それは出来ないと言われました。その後休憩所に着いて別ツアーの人が大勢いる前で「団体ツアーなんだから2人のペースに合わせられない」「運動不足だね」と大きな声で言われとても恥ずかしい思いと不愉快な気持ちになりました。私達のペースに合わせて欲しいとは一言もお願いしていませんし、大勢の前で言う必要はあったのでしょうか。焦って怪我をしたらどうするんですかと聞いても「それは頑張るしかない」と言われました。驚いたのはその後、次の休憩所に着いた時にガイドさんはタバコを吸っており戻ってくると態度は一変、足痛いの？サポーターあるよ？ストレッチしたほうがいいよ？と別人のようになりました。ツアー最後の方に差し掛かると、参加者に先頭を歩いてもらい、ガイドさんは一番後ろを歩くことに。。距離をあけるなと怒った本人が、別の参加者と喋りながら歩いて、前を歩く私達と差ができていました。。。
長くなりましたが、まとめると全く自然を楽しむこともできず、不愉快な思いをしたツアーでした。ガイドさんによりけりなのかもしれませんが、こちらのガイドさんとのツアー満足度は最悪でした。
友人が屋久島に行く時は、少なくともこちらのツアーは避けるようにと助言します。

Initially, we planned to meet at 10 AM, but it was changed to 8 AM because the other party said that the earlier time would have better visibility.

The weather wasn't great, but my spouse and I enjoyed snorkeling at Yakushima's Ichinotsu Beach.

Our guide was very knowledgeable about the spots, so we were able to go to areas with a lot of fish. Since we are intermediate snorkelers, they kept the briefing brief and increased our time at the snorkeling points, which we were very satisfied with.

We could also relax in a dedicated area for showers and changing. It seems that sea turtles are usually around, but we didn't see any that day.

Having hotel pick-up and drop-off made everything really easy. Additionally, I appreciate the recommendation for the JR Hotel's hot springs and the amazing restaurant Shiosai in Miyanoura, which has fantastic food!

I look forward to visiting again someday.

当初は10時集合を予定してましたが、先方から早い方が透明度が高いということで8時集合に変更。

天気がイマイチだったのですが、屋久島の一湊海水浴場でシュノーケリングを夫婦で楽しめました。

ガイドさんがポイントを熟知しているので、魚が多いポイントに行けました。私たちが中級者ということから、レクチャーをそこそこにして、ポイントを回る時間を増やしてくれて満足しております。

シャワーや着替えなども専用の場所でゆったりできます。普段はウミガメがいるところらしいのですが、この日は見れませんでした。

ホテルの送り迎えが付いているので本当に楽ですよね。また、屋久島のおススメのJRホテルの温泉、めちゃくちゃ料理がうまい宮之浦の潮騒というお店を教えていただき感謝です！

また、いつかよろしくお願いいたします。

Despite the change in the tour schedule, they accommodated my preferred time and taught me how to enter and swim without getting tired. It was truly a great experience. Swimming with the long-awaited sea turtles and observing various tropical fish and corals was wonderful. I also received beautiful photos that I have seen. It was a memorable tour.

The weather was great, and we were fortunate to have a wonderful guide, making for an enjoyable trekking experience. I got tired along the way, but the moment I saw the Yakusugi trees, all my fatigue disappeared.

天気にも恵まれガイドさんのも恵まれ、楽しいトレッキングになりました。途中は疲れましたが、屋久杉を見た途端、疲れが吹っ飛びました。

The tour to Shiratani Unsuikyo was canceled due to rain, but we changed our plans and switched to an island tour. I could feel the guide's wealth of knowledge and spirit of service until the very end, and I had a wonderfully enjoyable day!!!

雨のため白谷雲水峡へのツアーが中止となりましたが予定を変更して島内観光に切り替えて頂きました。ガイドさんの知識量やサービス精神を最後の最後まで感じられ、とても楽しめる一日を過ごすことができました！！！

I reached Jomon Sugi, which is one of the items on my life achievement list, five years earlier than planned at the age of 60, in an environment where I couldn't travel abroad due to COVID-19. Blessed with good weather, I was guided by Leader Mitsuhashi, who has led over 2,000 tours to Jomon Sugi, along with four young team members (excluding myself?). On the way back, we were able to visit a hidden route called the "Nature Observation Trail." In this spiritual world, there were many highlights, including Jomon Sugi, Wilson's stump, and the Great Cedar, making for a very fulfilling day.

人生の達成すべきリストの１つである縄文杉に、コロナで海外に行けない環境で、予定より５年早い還暦歳で到達。
お天気にも恵まれ、縄文杉２千回以上というガイドの三橋リーダーに引き連れられ、４名の若人（小生を除く？）隊員は帰路に「自然観察路」なる穴場ルートも訪れることができました。
スピリチュアルな世界観の中で、縄文杉を筆頭に、ウィルソン株、大王杉、・・・と見どころも多く、とても充実の１日となりました。

I was picked up at the morning lodge. The moss-covered forest is a fantastic and wonderful place. I wish I could have spent a little more time there... I injured my knee on the way down, but I was grateful that the guide lent me trekking poles and a knee support. I couldn't make it to Taiko Rock this time, but I definitely want to go next time.

朝宿まで迎えに来ていただきました。
苔むす森は幻想的ですばらしい場所です。もう少しゆっくりできるとよかったですが...。下山時に膝を痛めてしまったのですが、ガイドさんがストックと膝サポーターを貸してくれてありがたかったです。今回は太鼓岩までは行けませんでしたが、次回は必ず行きたいと思いました。

I am 58 years old, my wife is 56, and we participated with our 25-year-old daughter. I was worried about whether we could reach Jomon Sugi, but in addition to the breaks at the rest areas, we received explanations about various types of cedar trees, as well as plants and moss, while considering our fatigue. The guide was knowledgeable and made it easy to climb quickly. Additionally, they were well-versed in various topics, making the conversation enjoyable and never boring. I want to go again.

ガイドさんが知識豊富で早々と楽々登ることができた。また、登山だけでなく、様々なことについて熟知していたため、話していても飽きないものでした。また行きたいです。

I had a fun trip to Jomon Sugi and back, but I was told that the shuttle bus wouldn't depart until everyone was gathered, and I ended up waiting for an hour and a half. If this had been explained from the start, I could have taken my time more, and I think there could have been options for those who were late to take a taxi down the mountain. In the end, it became less enjoyable.

縄文杉まで楽しく行って帰ってきたのですが、送迎バスが全員揃わないと出発しないと言われ、1時間半も待たされました。
最初から説明されていればもっとゆっくり出来たし、目標時間に遅れた人はタクシーで下山とかやりようはあると思います。
最後に楽しく無くなった。

I participated with my boyfriend at the end of Golden Week. The weather was cloudy, but the waves were calm, making it easy to go snorkeling.

On a previous tour just two days before, I encountered one sea turtle during a trial dive, but on this snorkeling trip, I was able to see three! After coming out of the water, it was a bit chilly, but we were able to enjoy a simple warm shower and some hot tea at the beach parking lot, which helped us relax.

Later, we also used the shower at the shop, and it was clean with plenty of hot water!

The photos and videos were beautifully taken, and I was very satisfied.

Lastly, I apologize for almost taking the water-repellent sheet for the rental car home!

彼氏と2名でGWの最後に参加しました。
天気は曇りでしたが、波が穏やかで、シュノーケリングしやすかったです。
前々日に別のツアーで参加した体験ダイビングでは1匹の海亀と遭遇しましたが、こちらのシュノーケリングは3匹も遭遇できました！
海から上がった後は少し寒かったのですが、その場(海水浴場駐車場)で簡易温水シャワーと温かいお茶を頂き、落ち着くことができました。
また、その後お店のシャワーも浴びさせて頂いたのですが、店内も綺麗でお湯も沢山出ました！

写真と動画も素敵に撮って頂き大満足です。

最後、レンタカーに掛けるようの水避けシートを危うく持ち帰りそうになりすみませんでした汗

Mr. Chuma, our guide, was very friendly, and his explanations along the way were easy to understand and entertaining. Thanks to him, I had the best day ever. My first experience of "Jomon Sugi trekking" became an unforgettable and invaluable memory. If I have the opportunity to visit Yakushima again, I would definitely like to request him as my guide. It was my first experience with snorkeling, but the instructor explained everything thoroughly, so I was able to participate without any major worries. Since it was the day after trekking Jomon Sugi, I was concerned about muscle pain, but in the water, it felt weightless, and I forgot about the pain and swam comfortably! The weather was great, and I got to meet the cute fish of Yakushima and even a sea turtle, which made me very satisfied!! They also provided transportation to the hotel, and I enjoyed chatting with them in the car. If I come back to Yakushima, I will definitely use their services again!!

シュノーケリング初体験でしたが、インストラクターさんが丁寧に説明してくださったので、大きな不安なく臨めました。
縄文杉トレッキングの翌日だったので、筋肉痛などを心配していましたが、海の中は無重力で、筋肉痛を忘れて、気持ちよく泳げました〜！
お天気もよく、屋久島の海のかわいい魚達と、ウミガメちゃんにも出会えて、大満足でした！！

Trekking to Jomon Sugi was my first challenge. I had completed a full marathon before, so I was overconfident (and undertrained), which resulted in my legs completely giving out on the way down. Thanks to the guide's precise support and the encouragement from the members, I was able to descend safely. Thank you, everyone. I will work hard and hope to participate again.

縄文杉トレッキングは初めての挑戦でした。フルマラソンを完走した経験があり自信過剰(鍛錬不足)で臨んだ結果下山途中足が全ったく動きません。ガイドさんの的確な対応とメンバーさんの励ましで無事に下山することができました。皆さんありがとうございます。精進して又参加させてください。

It was my first time snorkeling, and I was a bit anxious, but they taught me carefully. They took a lot of photos, and I think I can enjoy using them as my PC wallpaper for a while after returning home.

シュノーケリングは初めてで若干不安でしたが、丁寧に教えていただけました。たくさん写真を撮っていただき、帰宅後も当分PCの壁紙にして楽しめそうです。

We participated in a family trip with a couple in their 60s and two adult children. I was a bit anxious about the Jomon Sugi course due to my lack of confidence in my physical strength, but thanks to the guide's excellent time management, course explanations, and storytelling, we had a great time and completed it in 10 hours.

The Shiratani Unsuikyo was also beautiful, even though there were steep sections where we had to use our hands to climb. Everywhere you look is stunning and soothing. The view from Taiko Rock is amazing and highly recommended.

I truly felt that joining the guided tour was a great decision. I gained more knowledge, and we were able to take many photos at key points. Above all, I appreciated that we could complete the trip safely and securely.

I am grateful that this trip became a cherished memory for our family.

60代の夫婦と成人の子供2人の家族旅行で参加しました。縄文杉コースは脚力に自信がなく不安もありましたが、ガイドさんの巧みな時間配分とコース説明、話術のおかげで楽しく10時間で行ってこられました。
白谷雲水峡は途中手を使って登るような急なところもありましたが、とにかくどこを見ても綺麗で癒されます。　
太鼓岩からの眺めも最高で、お勧めです。
今回、ガイドツアーに参加して本当に良かったと思いました。知識も増えましたし、要所、要所でたくさん写真も撮ってもらえました。何より安心、安全に行ってこられたのが何よりです。

I had heard that the tour to Jomon Sugi and Taiko Rock in one day was tough, but I prepared myself and signed up. They were very attentive during the pre-tour consultation, which made me feel at ease participating in the tour. (There was a bit of trouble, but they kindly helped me out.) The guide, Kyoku, was very friendly and made it a wonderful day. They took a lot of photos for us as well. Thank you very much. For those who are not confident about doing the tour to Jomon Sugi and Taiko Rock in one day, this company also offers a two-day tour, which I recommend. I look forward to the next opportunity.

縄文杉と太鼓岩を一日で回るツアーはきついと聞いていましたが、覚悟してこちらに申し込みました。事前の相談にも丁寧にのってくれて安心してツアーに参加することができました。（トラブルがあったのですが、親切に対応してくれて助かりました。)ガイドの局さんはとても親切で楽しくて最高の一日となりました。写真もたくさん撮ってくれました。本当にありがとうございました。縄文杉と太鼓岩を一日で回るツアーに自身がない人はこちらの会社に２日に分けるツアーもあるのでお勧めです。また次回機会がありましたらよろしくお願いします。

I was worried about whether the tour would take place due to the typhoon, but it was amazing to meet the sea turtles in a safe location! My spouse and I were able to take beautiful photos with the sea turtles, which became a wonderful memory! ❣️

If you're looking to go snorkeling or diving in Yakushima, this is definitely the place to be!!

The response time from booking to confirmation was very quick, which was very reassuring! If you have any questions, they will even call you to provide detailed answers.

<Facilities Compared to Photos>
The facilities were even cleaner than in the photos! The shower rooms were very clean and comfortable, and they provided a lot of services. I felt very secure in terms of safety.

<During and After the Tour>
Even for beginners, they clearly explain how to swim and use the equipment. They ensured that there were plenty of breaks while swimming, making it safe for participants of all ages.

During the tour, they took a lot of photos, and even edited them for social media after the tour, providing excellent service. (The guide seems to really enjoy photography.)

The highlight of my experience was when I participated during a time when a typhoon was approaching, and it was uncertain whether we could go into the sea. They guided us to a spot where we could encounter sea turtles, and I finally got to meet a sea turtle, which was a dream come true!

<Communication Stress>
The guide was very friendly and shared recommendations for local hidden gems and sightseeing planning, making me feel like I was getting a great deal. There was absolutely no stress!

I had a very enjoyable time. I would love to participate in such tours again and again.

On the first day, we were picked up at the accommodation around 4 o'clock. Since it was spring break, we couldn't board the first bus due to a limit on the number of passengers, so we took the second bus. After getting off the bus, the weather was great, and the views through the trees were fantastic. Our group consisted mostly of adults from my family and another family staying at the same lodge, so we were able to walk at a comfortable pace and returned to the Arakawa trailhead in just under 10 hours.

On the second day, we encountered heavy rain like a typhoon in Shiratani Unsuikyo, even though it was March. I thought it was unavoidable to cancel due to the weather, but since the same guide group was staying another night, they changed our departure to early morning on the third day. I was grateful for the luck as the guide's schedule was also open. We were blessed with beautiful weather that made the heavy rain from the previous day seem like a lie.

Especially in Unsuikyo, since it was early morning after the rain, the water droplets falling from the moss and the wet trees and rocks created a very mystical atmosphere. The view from Taiko Rock was also great. Initially, we planned to leave for Unsuikyo later since it requires less time, but I thought the early morning departure was better because it was less crowded and the atmosphere with the moss was lovely.

The guide provided historical information that wasn't written on the explanation boards, as well as points that we learned later, and he made sure we took meals and breaks at less crowded places and times, which was very nice.

初日の縄文杉は4時過ぎに宿にお迎え。春休みということもあり、始発のバスには人数制限で乗れずに2便のバスになりました。バスを降りてからはとても天気が良く木々の合間から見える眺望も最高でした。グループは私の家族のグループと同宿の家族グループでほぼ成年ばかりで構成だったので、程よいペースで歩けて10時間弱で荒川登山口に戻ってきました。
二日目の白谷雲水峡は3月なのに台風のような大雨。天気には勝てないので中止も仕方なく思っていましたが、同じガイドグループの方ももう一泊しているということで、三日目の早朝出発に変更してくれました。同じガイドさんの予定も空いていたそうなので、幸運に感謝！二日目の大雨が嘘のような良い天気に恵まれました。
特に雲水峡は雨の後の早朝だったので、苔から落ちる水滴や、木々や岩々が濡れた様子がとても幻想的でした。太鼓岩からの眺めも良かったです。当初予定では雲水峡は所要時間が短いのでゆっくり出発するつもりでしたが、早朝出発のほうがすいていて、苔むした感じの雰囲気が良いと思いました。
ガイドさんは説明板とかにも書いていない歴史的なことや、その後分かったこととかポイントを押さえて教えてくれ、混雑しない場所やタイミングで食事や休憩をとってくれてとてもよかったです。

It was a perfect day for snorkeling! At first, I couldn't find any sea turtles, but the guide worked hard to help us, and in the end, we saw two sea turtles. I also got to see a lot of fish, and it was so much fun. Thank you very much!! I want to go again!

最初はなかなかウミガメに会えませんでしたが、ガイドの方が一生懸命探してくださり笑最終的には2匹のウミガメに会えました。

On the first day, we were unexpectedly met with heavy rain, so we couldn't attempt to reach Jomon Sugi. Instead, we only participated in the Shiratani Unsuikyo on the second day. Thanks to the rain from the previous day, we were able to enjoy the beautiful moss and the clear blue sky. Our guide was a veteran who was well-acquainted with the plants and photography spots, making the over four-hour hike quite manageable. If we had a bit more time on Yakushima, we could have rescheduled the Jomon Sugi course for another day, so next time I plan to extend my stay beyond two nights and three days for a re-challenge.

初日はまさかの大雨で縄文杉へのアタックは出来ず二日目の白谷雲水峡のみの参加でした。前日の雨のおかげか綺麗な苔とスッキリ晴れた青空を楽しむことができました。ガイドの方もベテランの方で見かける植物や撮影スポット等熟知されていて4時間を超える登山も苦ではありませんでした。屋久島の滞在時間がもう少しあれば縄文杉のコースを別日に振り替えることも出来そうでしたので今度は2泊3日ではなくもう少し滞在時間を伸ばして再チャレンジしようと思います。

I was worried about hiking after a long time, but I was able to walk enjoyably thanks to the quiz-style explanations from our guide, Mr. Hidaka. I’m grateful that we arrived at Jomon Sugi ahead of schedule. The next day at Shiratani Unsuikyo, although it was drizzling, I had a great time thanks to the photography skills and moss explanations from our guide, Mr. Watanabe Kenma. Since it was foggy at Taiko Rock, we decided not to go there and instead enjoyed a tour of the island. Thank you!

久しぶりの登山で心配でしたが、ガイドの日高さんのクイズを交えた説明に楽しく歩けました。無事に、予定より早いスピードで縄文杉に到着でき感謝です。また、翌日の白谷雲水峡は、あいにくの小雨でしたが、ガイドの渡邊剣真さんの写真術と苔の説明に楽しい時間を過ごせました。太鼓岩はガスなので、行くのをやめる代わりに、島内観光をしてくださいました。感謝です。

I had heard that there can be a mix of good and bad guides on Yakushima tours, and unfortunately, I ended up with a guide who wasn't a good match for me, resulting in a sad and disappointing day. The guide was very self-centered, and when the climb became tough, I was subtly encouraged to give up with comments like, "Did you research the Jomon Sugi course?!" and "It's tough for everyone to adjust to a slow pace." I felt disheartened by their strong tone and ended up giving up partway through.

We arrived at the bus stop around 3:10 to 3:20 PM, well in time for the 4 PM and 5 PM buses, yet the guide rushed us to climb faster, even at the expense of those who were slower. I think they simply wanted to finish early since it was raining and quite cold. At one point, an elderly member of our small group fell, and instead of helping, the guide coldly remarked from the front, "You've fallen a few times, so you should be fine, right?!" This was despite there being only three of us in the tour.

In hindsight, I really regret not just climbing at my own pace instead of joining the tour with such a guide. If I had done that, I could have enjoyed seeing the Jomon Sugi, which I had been looking forward to. On a different day, I had a guide from another company who was truly wonderful, so I believe there really is a difference in guides.

屋久島ツアーのガイドさんには当たり外れがあると聞いていましたが、残念ながら私は自分とは相性の良くないガイドさんにあたり、悲しく残念な一日になってしまいました。ガイドさんは終始自分本位で、登りがキツクなると、早いペースについていけない私に「縄文杉コースのこと調べてきた？！」「遅いペースに合わせるのは周りもキツい」など、暗にリタイアをすすめられ、その強い口調に心折れて途中で断念。帰りのバス停には3時10～20分頃付き、4時、5時発のバスには十分に間に合うのに、ペースの遅い人を振り落としてまで急がせて登らせたのは何故だったのでしょう…雨が降り、震えるほどの寒さだったので、単純に早く切り上げたかったのだろうな、と思います。途中同じツアーの高齢の方が転んでしまっても、手助けもせず、先頭から「もう何回か転んでるので大丈夫ですよね？！」という無情なコメント。たった3人のツアー客にも関わらず、です。こういうガイドさんなら、ツアーに入らず、自分のペースで登れば良かった、そうすれば楽しみにしていた縄文杉を見れたのに…と心底後悔しました。別日に別会社でお願いしたガイドさんは、本当に素晴らしい方だったので、当たり外れは本当にあると思います。

I participated in a trekking tour to Jomon Sugi. It was a group trek with other participants, but the guide was incredibly accommodating, making the ascent and descent fly by! The weather was great, and it turned out to be a wonderful time. I also got to hear a lot about Yakushima, making it an excellent tour! I definitely want to use this service again!

縄文杉のトレッキングツアーに参加しました。他の方とのグループでのトレッキングでしたが、ガイドの方の対応がすごく良く、楽しんで登山から下山まであっという間でした！天気も良くとても良い時間になりました。屋久島のお話も沢山聞けて最高なツアーです！また是非利用したいです！

On the second day, it was pouring rain and we weren't sure if our flight would take off. It was a bit disappointing that we couldn't cross the river at Shiratani Unsuikyo. This is my evaluation regarding the weather.

2日目が土砂降りで飛行機も飛ぶか分からない状態でした。白谷雲水峡が川が渡れなかったので2日は、少し残念でした。天候のついての評価になります。

On my first trip to Yakushima, I participated in the Jomon Sugi trekking, which was my main goal. I had no confidence in my physical strength, so I wasn't sure if I could keep up with the pace of the other participants. Considering that we wanted to stop freely at points where we could take photos, we opted for a private tour.

I imagined it would be a very tough trek, but our guide made it enjoyable by sharing interesting information about the moss, trees, plants along the way, and the history of the town. When the real mountain climbing began after the trolley path, I think we might have turned back if it were just the two of us! Our guide informed us that it would be flat in about a few minutes or that we would reach the next destination soon, which motivated us to keep going.

Reaching Jomon Sugi gave us a sense of accomplishment, and we successfully completed the round trip of about 22-23 km, which boosted our confidence. The next day, both of us only had slight muscle soreness and no painful spots, so I recommend that those who lack confidence in their physical strength wear supporter spats while trekking.

Next, I aim to climb Taicho-dake, as suggested by our guide, and I would love to visit Yakushima again!

初めての屋久島旅行で、1番の目的だった縄文杉トレッキングに参加しました。体力に全く自信が無かったので、他の参加者のペースで歩くことができるか分からなかったし、自分たちが写真を撮りたいポイントなどで自由に止まれることも考えて、プライベートツアーにしました。
とても辛いトレッキングを想像していましたが、道中の苔や木々植物のこと、町の歴史などを楽しくガイドさんが教えて下さり、楽しいトレッキングができました。トロッコ道が終わってから、山登りが本格的に始まったとき、たぶん自分たち2人だったら引き返していたかもしれません 笑　ガイドさんが、あと〇分くらいで平坦になるとか、次の目的地に着くという案内をして下さったので、頑張ろう！という気持ちになれました。
縄文杉に辿り着けた達成感と、無事に22～23km往復できたので、自分たちの自信にも繋がりました。翌日は、2人とも多少の筋肉痛のみで痛いところは無かったので、体力に自信が無い人は、サポータースパッツをはいてトレッキングすることをオススメします。
次は、ガイドさんに教えて頂いた、太忠岳に登りに行くことを目標に、また屋久島を訪れたいと思います！
