I am a 58-year-old woman who participated alone. It was a group of six people around my age. The guide carefully observed each individual's condition and adjusted the pace accordingly, allowing me, who only walks 8 km round trip three times a week for commuting and does almost no other exercise, to complete the walk. To be honest, during the last 2 or 3 km, I was just moving my feet out of sheer inertia... (laughs)

There was one person who seemed to struggle a bit along the way, and the guide explained the situation properly, and that person decided to retire after understanding everything.

Since we walked in a single file, it was difficult for those in the back to hear the guide's voice while walking, but during the announcements and explanations, the guide would stop and speak to the whole group, and they would change the order of the line each time, so they were a very good guide.

The early meeting time due to picking up participants at various locations in a mixed tour was a downside, so I give it one star less, but I think that's just something that can't be helped.

58歳、女性、一人参加。ザックリ同年代の男女６名グループでした。ガイドさんが個々の状態をきちんと観察していて、それに合わせてペース配分してくれ、通勤で週３日往復８km歩くだけで、他にはほぼ何も運動していない私でも完歩出来ました。流石に最後の2,3kmはただただ惰性で足を動かしてましたが…（苦笑）
途中ちょっと無理そうになってきた方が一人いらして、その方にはガイドさんがきちんと説明してご本人も納得された上でリタイアされました。
一列で歩くため、歩きながらの話はどうしても後ろの人にはガイドさんの声が届かず聞こえないのですが、案内や説明の時には止まって全体に話してくれるし、その都度、列の並びを入替えてくれるので、とても良いガイドさんでした。

混載ツアーであちこちで参加者をピックアップするために集合時間が早い所が星−１ですが、それは仕方ない事でもあるかと思います。

I participated with a friend! The guide was very kind and shared various stories, allowing us to have an enjoyable 10 hours! Since it was 10 hours long, there were moments on the way back that felt a bit tiring, but it was such a great experience that it didn't really matter. I would love to visit again in 10 years when I'm feeling worn out by society and seek some healing.

Despite the ongoing cancellations due to typhoon damage, thanks to the efforts of local tour guide volunteers, I was able to participate in the tour safely✨ The hiking trails were in such good condition that you couldn't tell there had been any typhoon damage, allowing even beginners to progress smoothly. Additionally, the encouraging words from the guide and the fun conversations about Yakushima made the 10-hour tour enjoyable from start to finish! I received so much energy not only from Jomon Sugi but also from the power of the forests of Yakushima. Thank you very much♪

台風の被害で催行中止が続いていた中、現地ツアーガイドの有志ボランティアの皆さんのご尽力のかいあり、無事ツアーに参加することができました✨
登山道も台風被害があったことが分からないくらい、しっかりされていてハイキング初心者でもサクサク進むことができました。またガイドの方の励ましのお言葉や楽しい屋久島トークもあり、10時間のツアーは終始楽しくすごさせていただきました！

We participated in a tour with two women. Our group had six members, including our guide, and we had so much fun. I'm still soaking in the afterglow of how glad I am that we signed up for this tour ^_^

Thanks to our guide, Mr. Mitsuhashi, whose loving strictness helped us finish on time, we were able to complete the descent. He was very knowledgeable about the photo spots and took many great pictures for us. Throughout the hike, he kept the conversation going, making it enjoyable.

Thanks to Mr. Mitsuhashi, our cohesive group still maintains good relationships and keeps in touch.

ガイドの三橋さんの愛のある厳しさのおかげで、時間内に下りきることが出来ましたし、写真スポットもかなり詳しく、良い写真をたくさん撮っていただきました。
登山中もずっと会話をしてくれて、楽しく登る事ができました。

The week before I went, there was a big typhoon, and I couldn't go to Jomon Sugi as planned. I was recommended Yakusugi Land as an alternative, and at first, I felt quite disappointed, but in the end, I was satisfied. The guide was also someone who has lived in Yakushima for generations, and it was enjoyable to hear about the historical aspects.

私の行った前の週に大きな台風があり、予定していた縄文杉には行けませんでした。
ヤクスギランドを代替に推薦してきて、最初は残念な気持ちが大きかったが、結果的には満足できました。
ガイドの方も代々屋久島に住んでいる方で、歴史的な事を聞けて楽しかったです。

Due to the typhoon, I couldn't go to Jomon Sugi and instead went on the Taicho-dake tour. It was quite a challenging hike via Yakusugi Land, but I had a very exciting experience.

台風の影響で縄文杉に行けず、太忠岳ツアーに行きました。
ヤクスギランド経由でしたが、結構ハードな登山でした。ですが、とてもエキサイティングな体験をする事が出来ました。

The Jomon Sugi course was difficult due to the typhoon, so we went trekking at Yakusugi Land. The guide was kind, and the view from the top of Taicho Mountain was amazing.

縄文杉コースが台風で難しく、やくすぎランドにトレッキングでした。ガイドさんも優しく、太忠岳の頂上も最高でした。

It was a clear day in August, and thanks to the guide managing hydration, calorie intake, and walking speed, I was able to complete the walk without any strain. They shared little stories at points that could have been boring, which helped me maintain my focus while walking! I don't think I would have been able to walk this comfortably without the guide.

8月の快晴でした、ガイドさんが水分やカロリー補給、歩行スピードを全部管理してくれたおかげで無理なく完走できました。飽きそうなポイントで小話を挟んでくれて、集中力を保ったまま歩けました！ガイドがいなかったらここまで快適に歩けなかったと思います。

Unfortunately, we couldn't go trekking due to the bad weather, but instead, we were guided to the accessible areas of Shiratani Unsuikyo. It was about an hour of walking in the rain, but I was still able to experience Yakushima's nature with all my senses. Our guide was very knowledgeable about Yakushima's ecosystem and history, and I appreciated all the thoughtful gestures. I hope to come back someday and take on the trekking challenge with this tour again.

あいにくの荒天でトレッキングできなかったものの、代わりに白谷雲水峡の行けるところまで案内いただきました。
雨の中のおおよそ小一時間程度の散策でしたが、それでも屋久島の自然を五感で退官することができました。
屋久島の生態系や歴史に関する知識が大変豊富なガイドさんで、またいろいろとお気遣いいただき嬉しかったです。
またいつかこのツアーでトレッキングにリベンジしたいなと思います。

I participated with my second-grade daughter and my family of three. We had a great time walking while listening to the extensive knowledge and explanations from our experienced guide, Mr. Chuma. I was worried that my daughter might give up halfway, but she followed Mr. Chuma and completed her first trekking adventure very bravely. The world of moss that spread out before us was truly like something out of a Studio Ghibli film, providing a rare and extraordinary experience that you can never have in the city. It seems that my daughter found it so memorable that she even decided to make it into a picture diary when we got home. We were really glad to join this tour, as Mr. Chuma took many photos with our smartphones, made sure to take breaks for safety, and even served us homemade tankan juice. Thank you, Mr. Chuma!

小学2年の娘と家族3人で参加しました。ベテラガイドの中馬さんの豊富な知識と解説を聞きながら楽しく歩きました。娘は途中で根をあげるかな？と心配もありましたが、中馬さんの後に続いてとても逞しく初めてのトレッキングを完遂しました。一面に広がる苔の世界は本当にもののけの世界観そのままで、都会では絶対に体験することのできない貴重な非日常体験が出来ました。娘は帰ってから絵日記にするほど印象深かい体験だったようです。　私たちのスマホで沢山の写真を撮ってくれたり、安全面にも配慮してこまめに休憩を挟んでくれたり、自家製のたんかんジュースをふるまってくれたりと、こちらのツアーに参加して本当に良かったです。中馬さんありがとうございました！

We participated as a family of four, and I was happy that they adjusted the pace while observing our needs. They also provided detailed explanations about the many plants and water in Yakushima, which was very educational.

家族4人で参加しましたが、様子を見ながら進むペースを調整してくださり、嬉しかったです。また屋久島のたくさんの植物や水の説明を詳しく説明して下さり、とても勉強になりました。

I visited Yakushima for the first time and signed up for the Jomon Sugi trekking tour on August 21. To put it simply, it was amazing! I had heard beforehand that we would be walking about 22 kilometers round trip in over 10 hours, so I was a bit anxious. However, the guide, Mr. Yazaki, and the wonderful people in my group made it a fantastic experience. Even though I participated alone, I was able to complete the trek without any issues.

By the way, I am a man in my 30s, and I enjoy outdoor activities like mountain climbing and hiking. I walk quite a bit both for work and in my personal life, so I think for anyone with a similar background, regardless of age or gender, the Jomon Sugi tour is relatively easy. It's just a long distance to walk. However, in my group, everyone except me was new to mountain climbing, yet they all managed to complete the trek without slowing down. This may depend on the guide's pacing and time management, but I believe it's perfectly fine for beginners.

As advice for those considering signing up, I found that there are many tour companies and guides in Yakushima, and it might be hard to decide which one to choose. Honestly, it's difficult to determine which company is reliable. Some guides are affiliated with companies, while others work independently. If the guide and the group you are with are good, the tour will naturally be enjoyable. So, there is definitely an element of luck involved!

Summer is the tourist season in Yakushima, so there are quite a few people participating in the Jomon Sugi tour. The number of restrooms along the way is limited, which can lead to long waits. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend taking it slow to enjoy photo spots on the way there. The guide explained this and maintained a relatively fast pace, overtaking other groups. Thanks to that, we reached Jomon Sugi before 11 AM. Since we went at a fast pace on the way there, we had plenty of time on the return trip to enjoy places we couldn't spend much time at earlier, as well as spots that were great for photos. We even had time to dip into a river and cool off, and the guide mentioned that we were able to visit better spots than other groups because we had that extra time.

We were able to descend around 4:30 PM. Since the tour requires everyone to be present before the bus can leave, you might have to wait a bit. However, the guides communicate with each other via walkie-talkies to manage the overall timing and pacing, so I don't think you'll have to wait excessively.

It rained a little along the way, but it was light, and I found it refreshing. I was truly fortunate to have such great members in my group. Thank you!

初めて屋久島を訪れ、8/21に縄文杉トレッキングツアーを申し込みました。
結論から言うと、最高でした！事前情報で、10時間以上かけて往復約22キロの行程を一日で歩くと聞いていたので、少々不安でしたが、当日担当してくれたガイドの矢崎さんを始め、一緒のグループの方たちが素晴らしい方々でしたので、一人で参加しましたが、何の不自由もなく無事終えることができました。
ちなみに私は30代男性で、山登りやハイキング等のアウトドアが趣味で、普段から仕事でもプライベートでも結構歩いているので、そういう方であれば、老若男女問わず、縄文杉ツアーは比較的難易度は低いと思います。ただただ歩く距離が長いというだけですね。ですが、今回同行したグループ内には、私以外は山登り等が初めての方々でしたが、皆ペースを落とすことなく、無事完歩できているので、ガイドさんの時間・ペース配分にもよるのでしょうが、経験者ではなくても全然問題ないと思います。
あと、これから申し込まれる方へのアドバイスというか、体験して思ったこととして、屋久島には数多くのツアー会社やガイドさんがいらっしゃって、どこにしたらいいか迷うかもしれませんが、この会社だから当たり・外れだというのは正直見極めるのは難しいです。ガイドさんも会社に所属している人もいれば、個人事業主として会社から委託を受けてやっている人もいますので。当日担当してくれるガイドさんと同じグループの方たちが良ければ、自然とそのツアーも良いものとなるでしょう。ですので、正直運要素が強いですね笑。
夏は屋久島も観光シーズンですので、縄文杉ツアーに参加する人も相当数います。途中のトイレの数も限られているので、トイレに人が殺到して、そこで時間を浪費してしまいます。だから、行きはゆっくり写真スポットを巡りながらというのは、あまりおすすめしません。ガイドさんもそれを説明してくれて、行きは割と早いペースで、どんどんと他のグループを追い抜いて行きました。おかげで11時前には縄文杉に到達できました。行きをハイペースで行った分、帰りは時間に余裕があったので、行きであまり時間をかけて見れなかったところやガイドさんが説明しきれなかったところ、写真映えするスポットをゆっくりと楽しむことができました。途中の川に降りて膝ぐらいまで水に浸かってアイシングしたり、花崗岩がゴツゴツとある川に降りて、岩に座りながら景色を楽しんだりと、時間に余裕があった分、他のグループより良い場所を巡れたとガイドさんも言っていました。
下山できたのは16:30頃でした。ツアーで参加していると帰りのバスに全員揃うまで出発できないので、少し待つ必要があるかもしれません。ガイドさん同士でトランシーバーで連絡を取り合って、全体の時間・ペース配分をしているので、めちゃくちゃ待つということはないと思います。
途中で雨も降りましたが、小降りでしたので、これくらいの雨なら涼しさも感じられて心地よかったです。
本当にメンバーに恵まれました。ありがとうございました！

I have visited Yakushima several times, but this was my first time participating in the Jomon Sugi trekking with my family of four. It was harder than I expected, but the guide provided breaks at just the right times, and we were able to complete it. The transportation to and from the tour was also easy, and I'm glad we participated in the tour.

屋久島は数回来ていますが、縄文杉トレッキングには初めて家族4人で参加しました。
思ったよりハードでしたが、ガイドさんが適度に休憩をいれてくれて、達成できました。
行き帰りの送迎も楽チンで、ツアー参加で良かったです。

I participated in the Jomon Sugi tour in Yakushima. The guide, Mr. Omochida, provided very thorough guidance and explanations, which helped me learn a lot. During lunch, they even prepared miso soup, and I was grateful for the assistance with carrying heavy bags. Thank you very much.

Now, here is some reference information for others. The guide typically manages about 3 to 4 groups (with 5 to 8 people each). In this tour, there were 6 guides forming one team, with approximately 30 to 40 participants who took a chartered bus to the trailhead. The bus fare is included in the tour price. In my case, since I was staying a bit farther away, a taxi came to pick me up at my accommodation (the taxi fare is also included in the tour price). I think it’s a very good deal.

Overall, the guides, including the others, were great. The guides coordinated well to maintain the pace, ensuring that everyone safely reached Jomon Sugi and returned on time to catch the bus back to the accommodation. It was helpful that we didn’t have to worry about being too early to enjoy the experience or too late and missing the bus.

屋久島の縄文杉ツアーに参加させて頂きました。ガイドの御調さんがとても丁寧に案内と説明をして下さったので、色々と勉強になりました。お昼の時はお味噌汁まで用意頂き重い荷物を担がれて感謝感激です。ありがとうございました。
ここからは他の方への参考情報です。ガイドさんはおおよそ、3組〜4組(人数は5人〜8人)を担当。このツアーではガイドさんが6人で1チームを構成して、大凡30人〜40人が参加して、貸切バスに乗り、登山口まで移動しました。バス代はツアー代金に含まれます。私の場合は少し離れた場所に宿泊していたので、タクシーが宿まで迎えに来て貰えました(タクシー代もツアー代含)。かなりお得なツアーだと思います。
ガイドさんは他のガイドさん含めて総じて良かったです。ガイドさん同士が連携してペースを作っているので、全員が無事縄文杉まで行って、時間通りに戻り直ぐにバスで宿まで戻れました。
早すぎても楽しめませんし、遅すぎるとバスが無いなんて心配も無くて助かりました。

I arrived at Yakushima by high-speed ferry this time, and I was able to pick up my rental items right at the port. They also helped me with sizing, so I had no worries as the day approached. Although we had an early morning meeting, the rain that continued during our travel completely stopped, and I didn't need to use my raincoat at all throughout the day. I was lucky.

The guide provided precise instructions on putting on and taking off the raincoat, which made it comfortable without feeling stuffy.

There were various situations (laughs), and I was quite tense about not being late for the return bus, which I think was actually quite challenging. However, thanks to the guide's scheduling in minutes, we had appropriate breaks and were able to go and return safely.

今回高速船で屋久島に到着しましたが、港ですぐにレンタル品を受けとることができ、サイズ合わせもしていただき何の不安もなく当日を迎えました。朝早くの集合でしたが、移動中から続く雨もすっかりやんで、終日レインコートなど出番はありませんでした。ラッキーでした。
ガイドの方もレインコートの脱着の指示も的確で
蒸れることなく快適でした。
色々あり（笑）帰りのバスの時間に遅れないよう気を張った状況もあり実際大変だったと思いますが、ガイドの方の数分単位のスケジューリングで休憩も適度にあり無事行って帰れました。

I think I was able to book with a very good tour company among the various options available. The tour included a bento lunch and rental equipment. It was convenient as they took us to the trailhead by bus without any transfers. The guide and the couple from the other tour were very nice, and although it was a tiring 10 hours, we enjoyed and appreciated Jomon Sugi very much.

We also managed to find the Yakushima beetle, which is only found in Yakushima. Our guide, Mr. Miwa, was attentive and knowledgeable, and everything went very smoothly without wasting any time. He was skilled at taking photos and captured many wonderful memories for us!

The tour itself became tough after finishing the tramway path. I was glad to have a trekking pole. On the way back, I just walked on autopilot. My husband's knee started to hurt, and the guide gave us some pain relief patches, so I recommend bringing patches and painkillers if you're concerned.

いろんなツアー会社がある中、とても良いところで予約できたと思います。
お弁当付きでレンタルも付いて。バスで登山口まで行ってくれるので乗り換えなしで楽ちんでした。
ガイドさんも相ツアーのご夫婦も良い方で、とても疲れた10時間でしたが楽しく気持ちよく縄文杉を崇めました。
それと屋久島にしかいない屋久島オニクワガタも見つけられました。
ガイドの三輪さんは気配り上手で知識も豊富で、時間に無駄がなくとてもスムーズでした。写真の撮り方に長けていて、思い出に残る素晴らしい写真をたくさん撮ってくださいました！
ツアー自体は、トロッコ道が終わってからがしんどかったです。ストックがあってよかったです。帰りのトロッコ道は『無』になって歩き続けました。
主人の膝が痛くなりガイドさんから湿布をいただいたので、心配な方は湿布と痛み止め持参で行かれることをお勧めします。
とても心に残るツアーとなりました。

It was a sunny day, but there were plenty of shady spots, and with natural water sources available, I was able to take breaks as needed. Even though I participated alone, I was able to keep up with my group. The guide shared stories about the island's history and lifestyle, and also took photos at various points, which became great memories. I walked about 24,000 steps on the flat trolley path and around 14,000 steps on the well-maintained mountain trails.

晴天でしたが基本的に木陰が多く、天然の水場もあり、適度に休憩を入れてくれたので、体調を崩すことなく1人参加でしたが同班メンバーに遅れず付いてゆけました。ガイドの方には島の歴史や生活の話はもとより所々で写真を撮ってくれ記念になりました。平坦なトロツコ道24,000歩、整備された山道14,000歩位でした

Thanks to our guide Yazaki, we had the best time. The journey to Jomon Sugi is quite long, so as a beginner, I might have given up without the guide. The guide provided explanations and engaged in casual conversation at just the right moments, which made the hike enjoyable.

Since our group had many young people, we started a bit earlier and walked at a faster pace to capture Instagram-worthy photos. Thanks to the guide's pacing, we were able to take our time at photo spots like Wilson's stump and Jomon Sugi when there were fewer people around. Because we maintained a slightly faster pace, we even had time to cool off by dipping our feet in the river on the way back.

The guide was flexible and adapted to the group's needs. It was the best experience; thank you very much!

縄文杉までの道のりはとにかく長いので、初心者の私はガイドさんなしでは挫折していたかもしれません。ガイドさんが適宜ご説明や雑談を挟んでくれ、盛り上げてくれたおかげで楽しく完歩することができました。
私たちのグループは若者が多かったため、インスタ映えするような写真を撮れるようにと、少し早めに出発したり早めのペースで歩きました。ガイドさんのペース配分のおかげで、ウィルソン株や縄文杉などの写真スポットでは他の人が少ない時間帯にゆっくりと写真を撮ることができました。少し早めのペースだったため、帰り道では川に足をつけてクーリングする時間もありました。

It was a long journey, but many parts of the path were well-maintained and easy to walk on. The guide was entertaining, and it was enjoyable to hear stories beyond just Jomon Sugi.

I participated in the half-day course, and even though it was just half a day, I was able to fully enjoy it. The river water was extremely soft and easy to drink. The pickup and drop-off service to the hotel was really helpful.

半日コースに参加して、半日ではありますが満喫する事ができました。川の水が超軟水で飲みやすかったです。ホテルまでのお迎えから送迎まで本当に助かりました。

As a beginner, the local guide did a great job managing the pace. It was a long journey, but the guide shared various stories along the way, so I was never bored and really enjoyed it.

At 60 years old, I was a bit anxious about going to Jomon Sugi, but thanks to the guide's careful pacing and advice, I had an amazing experience. If you're going to Jomon Sugi for the first time, I think it's best to go on a tour.

初めて縄文杉に行かれるならツアーで行くのが良いと思います。

My 70+ year old mother usually walks every day, but she was worried about hiking. However, the guide was considerate and we were able to enjoy it without overexerting ourselves! The guide shared various types of moss and tips for hiking without straining the body, which made for a wonderful experience. It was also very convenient to rent hiking gear and trekking poles. I highly recommend this for anyone planning to visit Yakushima!

70＋歳の母は普段毎日ウォーキングするものの、ハイキングはどうかと心配していましたが、ガイドの方も配慮してくださり、無理せずに楽しめました！ガイドの方が色々な苔の種類や体を痛めないハイキングのコツなど、色々な知識を途中教えてくださり、とってもいい体験になりました。ハイキンググッズやストックもレンタルできてとても便利でした。屋久島に行かれる方にぜひお勧めします！

It's several times longer than I imagined. If you're trekking, it's probably one of the longest in Japan?!

The tour guide was an older man who loves Yakushima and moved there (he really loves the mountains), and his explanations were interesting throughout.

They likely group participants based on their fitness levels and age, allowing you to hike at a pace that suits your level.

During the extra time, you can dip your feet in the river, and some people even swim, so it's good to be prepared for that.

Initially, we planned to go trekking on our own, but considering the transportation from the accommodation to the trailhead and preparing lunch, we thought it would be more convenient to join a tour, so we signed up.

To put it simply, participating in the tour was a fantastic decision! Not only did we have a great guide, but we also met wonderful people in our group. It was a tiring day, but it turned out to be the best day ever.

With many aspects, such as pacing during breaks and hiking etiquette, that we might not have managed on our own, having a guide allowed us to relax and enjoy the experience mentally as well.

最初は自分たちのみでトレッキングをする予定でしたが、
宿から登山口への移動や、昼のお弁当の用意などのことを考え、自分たちのみで行くよりもツアーの方が都合がいいなぁと思って申し込みました。

結論から言うと、ツアーに参加して大大大正解でした！
ガイドさんはもちろん、同じグループだった方との素敵な出会いもあり、とっても疲れたけど最高の1日になりました。

休憩のペース配分や、登山中のマナーなど、自分たちだけでは配慮しきれない部分がたくさんある中で、ガイドさんがいれば安心して過ごせるので、精神的にも楽でした。

I had always wanted to visit Yakushima and Jomon Sugi. Since I don't have much climbing experience and was traveling alone, I chose a guided local optional tour. When I travel alone overseas, I always make reservations through Veltra, and I've always been satisfied with their tours, so I signed up without hesitation this time as well. I was worried about the early morning departure and the round trip climbing journey of about 11 hours, but thanks to the guide's appropriate advice and their detailed answers to my various questions, I was able to overcome the long and challenging path. Additionally, I think I was able to achieve this without giving up because I received encouragement and support from the two couples in my group. I want to express my gratitude for the wonderful encounter with ancient nature and for meeting the guide and the members of my group.

前々から一度は行ってみたかった屋久島、縄文杉。登山経験があまり無く、一人旅の私はガイド付きの現地オプショナルツアーを選択しました。海外一人旅の時は、いつもベルトラさんから予約し利用させてもらい、常に満足のいくツアーだったので今回も迷わず申し込みました。朝の出発が早く、往復で約11時間の登山行程が不安でしたが、ガイドさんの適切なアドバイスと私のいろんな質問に丁寧に詳しく答えてくださることで、長く険しい道のりも乗り越えられました。また、一緒のグループになった2つのカップルの方達とも励まし助け合えたお陰で諦めることなく達成できたと思います。
素晴らしい太古の自然との出会い、ガイドさん始め、グループの方との出会いに感謝したいと思います。

I had a vague desire to try the Jomon Sugi trekking, and it turned out to be an experience beyond my imagination. Even though I don't have much confidence in my physical strength, I was able to return safely, but there were many unstable areas and places where I had to climb rocks, which was quite tough. However, when I finally descended, the sense of accomplishment was immense, and I felt as if I had completed a form of training.

For those who are not used to hiking and are new to Jomon Sugi trekking, I strongly believe that participating in a tour is essential. The 10-hour trekking schedule was adjusted by the guide, taking into account the participants' physical abilities, which is why I think we were able to descend in time for the bus. I am grateful for all the considerations made.

Additionally, I went on both the Jomon Sugi trekking and the Shiratani Unsuikyo trekking this time, and I requested the same tour company. In the end, I think it was a great decision. For someone who couldn't make a car rental reservation and had limited mobility and time, being able to spend the day smoothly and without trouble was thanks to the tour company. I am very thankful.

漠然と一度行ってみたいと思っていた縄文杉トレッキングです。想像以上に素晴らしい経験でした。
体力に自信があるわけがない私も無事帰還できましたが、かなり足元不安定な場所や、岩を登るような場所が多くあり、かなり辛い。しかし、無事下山できた時は、達成感が大きく、一つの修行を終えたような気分でした。

登山に慣れていない、縄文杉トレッキングが初めての方は、ツアーに参加すべきと強く思いました。１０時間トレッキングの時間配分は、ガイドさんが参加者の体力を考慮して調整してくださっており、故にバスの時間までに下山できたと思います。さまざまなご配慮に感謝しております。

なお、今回は縄文杉トレッキングと白谷雲水峡トレッキングへ行ったのですが、同じツアー会社さんでお願いしました。結果、大正解だったと思います。レンタカーの予約ができずに行動範囲・時間が限られていた者にとって、さまざまな面でスムーズに、トラブルなく過ごすことができたのは、ツアー会社さんのおかげです。感謝しております。

On my first trekking experience, despite having no prior mountain climbing experience, I was able to reach Jomon Sugi, which was a fulfilling achievement. While listening to our guide's stories, I was able to enjoy the journey with everyone in the group. I felt that this sensation, which can only be experienced by those who climb, is truly precious. On the way down, I was able to dip my feet in the river along the riverbank, reminiscent of summer vacations from my childhood, which made me very satisfied. There are others around me who want to visit Yakushima, so I definitely want to recommend it.

初めてのトレッキングで、山登り経験も無かったですが、縄文杉まで行けて達成感溢れる体験になりました。ガイドさんのお話を聞きながら、一緒のグループになった皆さんと和気あいあいと進む事ができました。登った人しか体験できないこの感覚は、貴重だなと思いました。下りは川べりで足を川に付けたりと、子供の頃の夏休みのような事もでき、大満足です。周りでも屋久島に行きたいと言っている方がいるので、是非お勧めしたいです。

My first trip to Yakushima was truly memorable. I believe the highlight was the trekking at Shiratani Unsuikyo, which the guide made an incredibly valuable experience. While it might be said that trekking in Shiratani Unsuikyo can be done individually, for someone like me who doesn't regularly engage in exercise (especially after the fatigue from the Jomon Sugi trek the day before), I was able to fully enjoy it thanks to the various lectures on how to walk on mountain paths, the history of Yakushima, and explanations of the unique plants and moss.

As the climbers I met during my travels said, "You will be called back to Yakushima" and "This is the entrance to Yakushima," I experienced the charm that makes you want to visit again and again with all my senses. I am grateful for this wonderful experience.

私にとって初めての屋久島旅行。そのハイライトと考えていた白谷雲水峡トレッキングを、ガイドさんには最高に価値のある経験にしていただいたと思っています。一般的には白谷雲水峡は個人でトレッキングできないことはないとされているのかもしれませんが、登山もとより日頃から習慣的な運動をしていない者としては（前日の縄文杉トレッキングからの疲労が取れきれていない中）、山道の歩き方から、屋久島の歴史、珍しい草木苔の説明まで、色々とレクチャーいただいたおかげで、最大限に楽しむことができました。

「また屋久島に呼ばれる」「これが屋久島への入り口」と旅先でお会いした登山家さんたちもおっしゃっていた通り、何度も訪れたくなる魅力を五感で経験できました。すばらしい経験に感謝しています。
