What is a fat bike?
A fat bike is a bicycle developed in North America for riding on harsh winter terrain. Compared to standard bicycles, it has much wider tires, allowing it to travel over rough surfaces and snow.
Visit Nanajo Otaki Waterfall (Approx. 20 min)
Nanajo Otaki Waterfall changes with the seasons—refreshing in summer and magically frozen into an “Ice Palace” in winter. Admire the clear water cascading down from 50 meters above.
Return to the operator’s office

Restrictions
- Guests must be at least 5 ft (150 cm) to participate in this activity.
- Able to cycle for 1.5 hours round trip (includes some ups and downs, as well as gravel paths).
- Participants aged 50 and over must have ridden a bicycle within the past year.
- Participants must be in good physical and mental health.
- As this is a group tour, arriving early does not allow for an earlier departure.
- Participants with weak legs or knees may not be able to join the tour.
Additional notes
- The activity schedule is subject to change or cancellation due to weather or traffic conditions.
- The timing of autumn foliage, snowfall, and the freezing of the waterfall varies each year due to natural conditions. Please use tour photos as a reference and confirm local conditions before booking.
- Tours generally operate even in light rain or snow.
However, if heavy rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, or blizzards make the tour difficult to conduct, we will notify you as early as possible.
Please note that the tour may be canceled on the day at the instructor’s discretion.
As this tour takes place in a natural environment, we appreciate your understanding. - This tour does not include a photo-taking service.
- About the Marukoma Onsen 50% Discount Ticket (Participation Benefit)
・The ticket will be provided only to guests who plan to bathe at Marukoma Onsen on the same day.
・As admission to the onsen is available until 2:00 PM, this benefit is limited to participants of the 9:30 AM tour only. - If you cancel for personal reasons, the full activity fee will be charged as a cancellation fee.
Please note that the tour may be refused if the person who made the booking does not arrive at the shop or does not participate. - During the Icefall Festival period, heavy crowds are expected, especially on weekends and public holidays. Please arrive with plenty of time to ensure you are on time for the tour.
