It seems we were fortunate with the weather and conditions that day, as we were able to see the beautiful water quality of Lake Shikotsu from our kayaks amidst stunning scenery. The guide was very kind, and I learned a lot about Lake Shikotsu. I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly and thorough the conversation was. All the staff members were always smiling, and we truly had a wonderful time. The infection control measures were also thorough, so I highly recommend this activity to anyone visiting Hokkaido.

On the day of the trip, it was quite windy and rainy in the morning, but when we arrived at the location, we were greeted by blue skies, warm weather, and a moment when the wind stopped and the waves were completely calm, allowing us to see beautifully down to the deep bottom. It was also the first time this year that we saw it, and through the clear kayak, we encountered a large, bright blue river master (carp), which was a mystical and wonderful experience. Thank you to our guide for being so kind and teaching us various things. On the way back, we stopped by Marukoma Onsen, where we received a discount coupon, and the open-air bath close to the lake surface was spectacular and enjoyable. My daughter and I had a lovely little trip together.

I participated with my mother in her 70s. I was worried about whether it would be okay without much stamina and if we would tip over, but those concerns were completely unnecessary. They provided us with free raincoats and Crocs, so our clothes didn't get wet.

Since it was a windy day, we mainly enjoyed the calm Chitose River. The shimmering green surface of the water and the transparent riverbed seen from the bottom of the kayak were truly beautiful.

With the guidance of a friendly and kind young man, we got to experience a bit of an exploratory feeling, and it was great to briefly venture out to Lake Shikotsu at the end and enjoy the atmosphere of the lake. My mother was also excitedly paddling away and was really happy, saying she had a lot of fun.

There were only two groups participating, so the water was not crowded, allowing us to take off our masks and breathe in the fresh air. Of course, masks and sanitization were in place inside the store before and after kayaking for infection prevention.

I couldn't use the free bathing ticket for Marukoma Onsen due to timing, so I'll save that for my next visit to Lake Shikotsu. I would love to try kayaking and diving again at Lake Shikotsu when there's no wind.

母も張り切ってグイグイ漕いで、本当に楽しかったと喜んでいました。
参加時は2組だけで、水上は密ではないためマスクを外して美味しい空気をたくさん吸えました。カヤック前後の店内ではもちろんマスク、消毒で感染対策してありました。
丸駒温泉の無料入浴券が、時間が合わず使えなかったので次に支笏湖に来た時のお楽しみにします。風のない時の支笏湖でまたカヤックやダイビングをしてみたいです。

I participated in mid-February 2020. When I arrived at the meeting place, I was relieved to have someone carefully teach me how to put on the dry suit and help me with it. After a short 5-minute drive, we reached a small cove on Lake Shikotsu, where an area about the size of two tennis courts was frozen. From a distance, the white and transparent ice looked mottled. I learned that the lake water freezes clear, while the snow that accumulates on top freezes white. At first, I thought the transparent ice was thin and melting, but it turned out to be quite thick. The guide brought a pickaxe and let me borrow it to try to break the ice, but it wouldn't break at all. When I picked up a piece of broken ice, it had a unique crystalline shape that I had never seen before. I could also enter the lake from the edge of the ice. It was surprisingly warm for this time of year, with an outside temperature of 5°C and a water temperature of 2°C, so I hardly felt any cold except on my face, which was directly exposed to the water. By the way, I wore a T-shirt and sweatpants under the dry suit, and I had adhesive heat packs on my toes, but I was slightly sweating after the experience. Since I intentionally didn't let the air out of the dry suit, I floated comfortably in the water, which made me feel secure even though I couldn't swim. Floating without feeling cold while gazing at the blue sky was very pleasant, and I wished I could have stayed like that for another hour. The guide also lent me a snorkel, so even though my face was extremely cold, I could observe the underside of the ice and the bottom of the lake closely. The time spent standing on the ice and being in the lake was about 40-50 minutes, and with the remaining time for putting on and taking off the dry suit, moving around, and settling the payment, the total duration was just a little over an hour. Since it wasn't cold, it felt too short, and I would have liked to have at least double the time. I was very satisfied to have such a rare experience that is hard to come by.

2020年2月中旬に参加しました。集合場所につくとドライスーツの着方を丁寧に教えてもらえ、また着るのも手伝ってもらえるので安心でした。車で5分くらいの支笏湖の小さな入り江のほとりに行くとテニスコート２個分くらいのエリアが凍ってました。遠くから見ると白い氷と透明な氷がまだらに見えました。これは湖の水がそのまま凍ると透明になり、降り積もった雪が凍ると白くなるそうです。最初透明な氷は厚みがなくて溶けかかってるのかなぁと思いましたがそんな事はなくかなり分厚い表層でした。ガイドさんがツルハシを持ってきていて貸してもらい割ろうとしましたが全然割れませんでした。割れている氷を手に取ると見たことのない形で結晶化していて珍しかったです。氷の端から湖に入ることも出来ました。この時期にしてはとても暖かく外気温5℃、水温2℃との事で水が直接触れる顔以外は寒さ冷たさはほぼ感じませんでした。ちなみにドライスーツの下はTシャツと上下スウェットを着込み、足先には貼るカイロを着けていましまが、体験後うっすら汗ばんでいる程でした。ドライスーツの中の空気をあえて抜かずに入るので水にプカプカ浮くので泳げなくても安心でした。冷たさを感じずにプカプカ浮いて青空を眺めているととても気持ちよかったのであと１時間くらいこうしていたかったです。ガイドさんからシュノーケルも借りれるので、顔がめちゃくちゃ冷たいですが、氷の裏側を見たり湖の底をじっくり観察することも出来ます。氷の上に立ったり湖に入ってる時間は40-50分程で残り時間でドライスーツ着たり脱いだりの準備と移動、精算などで全部で1時間とちょっとの所要時間でした。寒くなかったので、もう倍くらいの時間あっても良いくらい短く感じました。なかなか出来ない珍しい体験ができてとても満足です。

However, I was worried about whether the ice would be solid due to this year's record warm winter, so I directly inquired before signing up, and they responded quickly and very kindly. They assured me that the ice was fine, so I was able to sign up with peace of mind.

The actual time spent playing on the ice was about 30 minutes, including preparation and wrap-up. Following the instructions, I applied a heat pack to my toes and wore a dry suit, which made it completely comfortable (though it was also a day with no wind, which they called "perfect for ice walking").

Usually, I would expect to take photos with a Nordic atmosphere amidst a snowy landscape while playing on the ice, but this time there was almost no snow, resulting in images set against a rather bleak winter scenery, which was disappointing.

However, I was satisfied with the experience of hearing the sound of the ice cracking as I took my first step and the chime-like sounds of broken ice colliding in the water, all while floating thanks to the buoyancy of the dry suit, gazing up at the blue sky. 　しかしながら、今年の記録的な暖冬で氷が張っているのか心配で申し込み前に直接問い合わせをしたところ、迅速かつとても親切に対応して頂きました。
氷は問題ないとの事で、安心して申し込むことが出来ました。
　体験は準備から終わりまでの時間で実際氷遊びをしているのは30分程度です。ご案内の通りにホカロンをつま先に張ってドライスーツを着た事もあり、全く寒くなかったです。（この日は風もない「アイスウォーク日和」とお墨付きを頂いた日だったからと言うのもありますが。）
　例年通りならば、雪景色の中での氷遊びでちょっと北欧の様な雰囲気の写真が撮れたかと思いますが、今回は雪がほぼなくて、殺風景な冬景色の中での画像となってしまったのは残念でした。
　でも、自分が踏み出した一歩から氷が割れていく音や、水の中で割れた氷同士がぶつかって奏でる風鈴の様な音を聞きながら、ドライスーツのお陰で（浮力が付与）ぷかっと浮かびながら、青空を仰ぐ癒しの時間を体験出来て、満足でした。
　スタッフの方々は皆さんフレンドリーで、難しい年齢の中・高校生男子の息子たちも臆することなく楽しんだ様です。どうもありがとうございました。

I participated during a very cold period when even the water was freezing, but with the rental of dry suits and knit caps, I was able to fully enjoy the activities without worrying about the cold. The guide (a former ranger!) provided insights about the nature of the lake and took photos, allowing us to leisurely cruise around Lake Shikotsu and the Chitose River. Even as a beginner, I was able to paddle the kayak easily and without much effort. I definitely want to join again with my family (the kids) during summer vacation! Thank you to all the staff.

The clear kayak experience was amazing! I thought I might have to give up because of the strong winds at Lake Shikotsu, but surprisingly, they said, "You can do it!" We spent two hours on the Chitose River. There were various missions, and I might have enjoyed this more than the lake itself! The fun conversations with the guides and taking commemorative photos were great. I did have a little mishap getting out and ended up with one foot soaking wet, but that became a good memory! If you're going kayaking, I recommend Shikotsukamui!

It was raining on and off, but when we tried to go out to Lake Shikotsu, it started to rain quite heavily. We were able to observe river fish closely under the bridge. Although we ended up doing a tour on the river instead of the lake, my daughter seemed to enjoy catching shrimp. I hope we can experience the lake course next time.

It was an amazing kayaking experience guide by our guide, Risa. The weather was a little gloomy but it created a beautiful mountain view shrouded by the mist. I was able to enjoy kayaking with peace of mind on a tour by a professional diving shop. Our family of four split into two kayaks. We leisurely paddled along the river and lake, seeing fish along the way and listening to our guide's stories. I was moved by how such a blissful and relaxing time could exist. The guide took photos at various points, and I was very happy to receive them later for free via AirDrop. I think this is a tour that people of all ages can enjoy, as there were small children participating as well. I have come to love kayaking.

I visited during the Obon period in the third week of August. Unfortunately, due to continuous rain, I had to change my schedule over the phone, but the system was not processing properly, and there was no handover between the staff, resulting in duplicate communications from the administrative staff, which was disappointing.

On the day of the event, there were delays and troubles at the accommodation, and I realized I would arrive 10 minutes late at 9:40 for the 9:30 meeting at Lake Shikotsu. I called to inform them, but I was met with an intimidating response from the female staff member, who insisted that I hurry through the rainy mountain roads with unbelievable remarks. While I acknowledge that the lateness was my fault, I felt extremely uncomfortable with the way I was treated. (What would they do if I had an accident while rushing through the rain?)

I expressed my concerns about the intimidating response at the reception on the day of the event, and a young woman apologized. Although I did not expect it, they offered a discount on the tour fee (they said they would confirm with the representative and get back to me). また当日、宿泊先で混雑とトラブルが重なり、9：30 支笏湖集合に対し9：40着の10分遅れになってしまうことが道中途中で判明したので連絡を入れたのですが、事務担当の女性から威圧的な対応を取られ、かつ雨天の山あいレンタカー道中を急いで来て下さいと信じられない言動があり、遅刻はこちらに非があるので強いことを言うべきでは無いのですが、対応に非常に不快な思いをしました。（降雨山中を急ぎスリップ事故でも起こしたらどう責任を取るのでしょうか。）

また当日の受付で上記の威圧的な対応に対しこちらの意見を申し、若い女性より謝罪を頂きました。
こちらは望んではいませんでしたが、ツアー代金のディスカウントの話が先方からありました（代表に確認して連絡するとのこと）アクティビティ終了後も代表の方もいらっしゃいましたが、お話も頂けておりません。※挨拶もありません。

アクティビティは楽しんだので金銭などの対応はいりませんが、あまりにもスタッフの対応が悪く、せっかくの北海道の貴重な自然との思い出を作る機会を汚しています。
二度と私達の様な気持ちにならない様にに催行会社の改善を求めます。
