It was my first time on a bus tour in Hokkaido, and I was surprised that about 80% of the participants were of Chinese descent. The guide was also from China, but they spoke Japanese as well, so I was able to enjoy the tour. I wouldn't have been able to visit so many places on my own, so it was great.
北海道のバスツアーは初めてでしたが、おそらく8割のかたが中華系の方でびっくりしました。ガイドさんも中国の方でしたが日本語もお話しされていたので楽しく参加することができました。一人ではこれほどの場所を巡ることはできないのでよかったです。

I have visited Asahiyama Zoo many times, and I often use bus tours. This time, the guide shared a lot of information about the history of Hokkaido throughout the journey, which made it enjoyable. The zoo had already started the penguin walk, so I was very satisfied.

As a day trip tour, the timing was not too tight, and it felt just right.
Since it was a tour on the 2nd of the New Year, it was a bit disappointing that there weren't many shops open, but the souvenir shop was open, so we were able to do some shopping.
I also enjoyed the foot bath during the free time because I had brought a towel in advance, and above all, our guide was very entertaining.
On the day of the tour, three buses were used, with about 120 participants. The buses were assigned based on language, and we had guides who spoke both Chinese and Japanese.
Both languages were fluent, making it a memorable tour.

日帰りツアーとしては、時間的にもそんなにキツキツでもなく、ちょうどいい感じでした。
新年早々２日のツアーのため、空いてるお店がないのが少し残念でしたが、お土産ショップも空いてたので、買い物はできました。
足湯も、タオルを事前に持っていたので、自由行動の時間に楽しめましたし、何よりガイドさん、面白かったです。
当日はバス3台、約120名の方が参加されて、言語によって、なるバスが決まりましたが、私たちは中国語と日本語のガイドさんがついてました。
両言語ともに流暢で、思い出に残るツアーでした。

I have visited Sapporo in winter many times, but I challenged myself with a bus tour for the first time. The highlight was the Usuzan Ropeway, but upon hearing that the temperature at the summit was minus 10°C, I braced myself. The initial experience and sensation were truly moving. I strongly felt that I want to visit both Lake Shikotsu and Lake Toya again in spring and autumn. I participated on December 28th. I joined because I wanted to show my partner the Penguin Parade at 2 PM. Since it's only available in winter, I think it's worth seeing. There were many inbound tourists. I wished they would clean the restrooms more frequently. Some were so dirty that they didn't seem like Japanese toilets. 😭

My first trip to Hokkaido was wonderful. Coming from a tropical region, it was my first time seeing the snow piled up. Lake Toya, the bear ranch, and Hell Valley were all fantastic. I think our guide, Mr. Onodera, had a tough time explaining in Japanese and Chinese for just two of us out of 32 participants, but he did it without complaint, and I truly appreciate it. I'm thinking of visiting Hokkaido again during the fresh green season, and I plan to use the service again then.

There were seven participants, including myself, and all were Japanese. The explanations of the tourist spots were provided through earphones that allowed us to choose the language, along with additional comments from the bus guide. At first, it seemed like a child, around elementary school age, was live streaming on their smartphone, and the volume was quite loud, interfering with the explanations from the earphones. Since the guardians didn't say anything, I hesitated to say something myself, but the driver kindly addressed the issue. Thank you very much. Before the tour started, there was an explanation of the precautions, but I believe common sense is left to the participants. However, with incidents like this, I started to worry that we might need to add a note saying, "Please refrain from using devices that produce sound that may disturb other participants." The tour company has a tough job...
Since there were only seven of us and fewer stops, it felt relaxed. The bus guide was a reassuring woman with a strong presence, and the male driver seemed kind, creating an overall atmosphere that I really liked. Since it was a small group, I wished I could have asked the guide and driver for their recommendations.
Although there were fewer tourist spots, it was a day with a lot of snow, and as someone who came from a region without snow, I was very satisfied with the snowy scenery.

7名で経由地も少なめだったのでゆったりとして、バスガイドさんもドンと構えた安心感のある女性の方で、運転士の男性の方も優しそうな感じで、全体的に私は好きな雰囲気でした。少人数だったので、ガイドさんや運転士さんのオススメなども聞いてみたかったなと思いました。
観光地は少なめですが、雪がたくさん降った日だったので、雪の無い県から来た私は雪景色にも大満足でした。

Since it was a free seating arrangement, there were people who participated as pairs but weren't able to sit next to each other. They communicated with the guide to switch seats, but I was worried that shy individuals might not be able to tell the guide.
There were people who were 10 minutes late, 20 minutes late, and 5 minutes late, which was quite bothersome. Even when I said I would call the person, it was difficult to find them in the list because of the free seating. If it had been assigned seating from the start, I could have called them instantly since I would have their names and phone numbers.
I was aware that there would be many Chinese participants and that the guide spoke mostly Chinese with little Japanese, as I confirmed this through reviews before joining.
On that day, there were two buses: the first one was entirely Chinese, and the second one was half Chinese and half Japanese.
The atmosphere on the bus was quiet!
Overall, it was a fun experience.
自由席なので、ペアで参加したのに隣同士座れてなかった人がいた。途中でガイドにつたえて交代してもらってたけど、内気な人だとガイドさんに言えないんじゃないかとヒヤヒヤした。

I participated from a region where I don't see snow.
The snowy landscape was very beautiful. After visiting Lake Shikotsu, we took the Usuzan Ropeway to the summit. We were able to see a magnificent view.
Lunch by Lake Toya was visually appealing and the meal was satisfying for a tour, but if I could make one request, I would have liked a menu. The scenery at Lake Toya changed in an instant, but it was great to see the beautiful Lake Toya and the sunset from the Silo Observatory.
There were several drop-off points, which was very convenient. The staff were also polite and pleasant. I used the same company's regular sightseeing tour last year and it was great, so I would like to use it again next time.

雪景色、とてもきれいでした。支笏湖見学後、有珠山ロープウェイに乗り山頂へ。
壮大な景色を見ることができました。
洞爺湖畔での昼食は、見た目も綺麗でツアーの食事では満足できる内容のお料理でしたが、一つ注文させて頂くとしたらお品書きがほしかったです。
一瞬で景色が変わる洞爺湖でしたが、サイロ展望台からはきれいな洞爺湖と夕日が見られて良かったです。
降車場所も何か所かあり大変便利でした。乗務員さんも丁寧な対応で感じが良かったです。昨年も同社の定期観光を利用し良かったのでまた次回も利用させて頂きたいと思います。

Although it was winter, the weather was nice and the scenery at all locations was beautiful. The meals exceeded my expectations and I was satisfied. If I had to wish for something, I would have liked meat or fish as the main dish. My biggest concern was the availability of restrooms during traffic jams or bad weather, but there were no traffic jams and plenty of restroom breaks, so I was able to complete the entire journey without any issues. However, I think it would be better to choose a bus with restrooms in the future, as we never know what might happen.

On my usual travels, I would rent a car and sightsee while driving, but for someone like me who is not used to driving in the snow, the one-day tour on a regular sightseeing bus was really helpful. The lunch menu was also quite elaborate, and everyone was satisfied.

I was taken to a place that I wouldn't have been able to go to by myself, which was great for making effective use of my time. The guide was from China, but their Japanese was very good, and they happily answered any questions I had. The outdoor hot spring bath I visited at Jozankei Onsen left a lasting impression. It was a bus tour in heavy snow. Thanks to the driver, we were able to return safely. First, we visited Asahiyama Zoo, but the time felt short. We rushed through, but we were able to see the main attractions, which was good. We departed from Sapporo early in the morning and it took about two hours to reach Asahiyama Zoo with a break. We could leisurely stay at the zoo for about an hour and a half. The lunch buffet at the herb garden offered a variety of choices, which was enjoyable. Unfortunately, we couldn't stop by the Blue Pond due to time constraints, but the final stop at Shirogane Falls was a perfect way to conclude the tour. On the way back, we were delayed by a traffic accident, so we arrived in Sapporo around 8 PM, but we were able to fully enjoy the day.

I was torn between attending in the morning or afternoon. I decided to go in the afternoon to meet Dr. Clark. Even though I was at Sheep Hill, the sheep had already returned to their pen when I arrived, so I couldn't see them grazing. However, I was glad to see a beautiful sunset.
At the Okurayama Jump Stadium, the temperature drops significantly as you go up the jump. It was quite cold with the wind. If you're planning to visit the Olympic Museum as well, it's better to come down from the jump early. オリンピックミュージアムにも行くならジャンプ台からは早めに降りたほうがいいです。
ミュージアムには体験コーナーがあり大人がやっても楽しいので体験してみてください。
