We are travelers from Taiwan.
On August 15, we participated in a one-day sightseeing tour with our parents.
Fortunately, we had the wonderful guide Lisa and the driver Kurata.
Lisa provided detailed explanations about each sightseeing spot, took beautiful photos at each location, and shared her recommended must-try gourmet foods from Hokkaido. We are truly grateful!
Driver Kurata was very stable and comfortable in his driving. When we got off at each sightseeing spot, he would say "Have a good time" and "Welcome back," which gave us a sense of security as if we were returning home.
The tour arranged by the travel company was also fantastic, and we were lucky to have good weather, making every sightseeing spot very beautiful.
Thanks to Lisa and Kurata, our one-day tour was perfectly concluded.

Honshu was experiencing a lingering summer heat, but it was a perfect day for sightseeing with a pleasant clear sky and a breeze that mixed dry air with a hint of autumn. I visited beautiful natural spots and thought I would like to come back in other seasons as well. Along the way, our tour guide provided us with information about delicious food, souvenirs, and highlights in three languages, which made our arrival even more enjoyable. Most of the guests were inbound tourists, and despite the need to communicate in three languages, everyone from different countries was smiling and having a great time, creating a wonderful atmosphere. It was also fun to take photos together, engaging in the kind of international exchange that only a bus tour can offer.
本州は残暑厳しいなか、気持ちの良い晴れ空で乾いた空気と少し秋の気配が混ざった風が吹き観光には最高の一日でした。自然豊かな名所を巡り、また他の季節でも訪ねてみたいと思いました。ところどころ、添乗員さんに美味しいものやお土産情報、見どころなどバスの中で事前に教えてもらって、到着時により楽しむことができました。インバウンドのお客さんがほとんどで、案内も3ヶ国語でこなさなければならない状況のなか、どの国の方も笑顔で楽しんでみえて、とても良い雰囲気で終わることができました。お互い片言で写真を撮りあったりと、バスツアーならではの国際交流も楽しかったです。

At Jigokudani, it was a bit of a walk, but the scenery was wonderful and quite rare to see. I was able to witness the hot springs erupting up close. At Cape Earth, the views were great, and it was definitely an experience to feel that the Earth is round. At Lake Toya, there were plenty of attractions, including sightseeing boats, materials related to the Lake Toya Summit, and monuments. There were many places to have lunch, and the lunch set was delicious! On the way back, I also visited Lake Shikotsu and was able to take great retro photos in front of the famous bridge. At Showa Shinzan, the museum provided a little insight into the lava dome. Visiting all these places alone by rental car would be quite challenging and tiring from driving. The bus tour offers great cost performance, is safe and secure, and allows for a little nap, which is fantastic!
地獄谷では、少し歩きますが、なかなか見られない景観で良かったです。間近で温泉？が吹き出す様子を見れました。次の地球岬は、景色もよくて、地球は丸いことを体感できること、間違いなし。洞爺湖では、遊覧船、洞爺湖サミットに関する資料、記念碑など見どころが盛りだくさんありました。昼食を食べる処も多く、ランチセット、美味しかった！帰りに支笏湖も訪問し、有名な橋の前でレトロな写真がバッチリ撮れました。昭和新山は、資料館で溶岩ドームについてちょっぴり知るきっかけになりました。一人でこれだけをレンタカーで訪れるのは大変で運転で疲れるでしょう。バスツアーはコスパもよく、安心安全、居眠りもでき、サイコーです！

Anyway, the weather was great, and at Cape Earth, the horizon was almost perfectly visible. The blue pond was beautifully blue, and the bears were incredibly cute. Everything was amazing! The guide was wonderful, and it was a very lovely bus trip!

I participated in the tour on August 11. Out of about 40 people, there were only three Japanese groups, and the guide was from China. I understood most of the information provided in English and Chinese, and the smartphone translation feature also helped with announcements in Japanese, so there were no issues with the destinations or departure times. However, I would have liked to have been informed in advance that it would be a tour with many foreigners. Additionally, the guide only covered the bare minimum, and especially at Showa Shinzan, the focus was mostly on the bear ranch, neglecting important details about Showa Shinzan itself and the visible Usu Mountain, which was disappointing.

I had high expectations, but most of the tour participants were Chinese, and the tour guide was also Chinese. The guide hardly spoke any Japanese. The explanations were mainly in Chinese, with just a little bit of English. I felt I made a mistake in choosing this tour. Listening to the rapid-fire Chinese talk, I couldn't understand what was being said, and it was very stressful.
If it had been clearly stated in the tour information, I wouldn't have signed up. At the meeting point at the TV Tower, I felt very lonely surrounded by so many Chinese participants. I really wanted to join a tour with Japanese participants, so I think it would be helpful to clearly indicate whether the tour is for Japanese or Chinese participants in advance. It was my first time being in a group of Chinese people, and I was very surprised and nervous, which made it hard to enjoy the experience. I participated with my two sons, who are a middle schooler and a high schooler. I was glad that we could explore areas that are difficult to access without a car in just one day. We didn't have enough time at Lake Shikotsu and the Mushroom Kingdom where we had a free lunch, while we felt we had too much time at Lake Toya, so I think it would be better to reconsider the time allocation. Even though it was during the Obon holiday, there were no traffic jams, and it ended on time, which was great. If I have the opportunity, I would like to participate in another course as well.

As someone who is not local, I wanted to walk as efficiently as possible within my limited travel time! However, due to my age and lack of confidence in my stamina during my one-week stay in Hokkaido, I couldn't make a reservation for this option, which seemed to involve a fast-paced tour. 効率的に観光をしたい方にはもってこいのコースです！

I visited around early July, when it felt like the rainy season was ending. I participated alone on a weekday.
The tour was great, especially at Lake Shikotsu, but personally, I think I would have preferred to explore on foot instead of taking the sightseeing boat.
I was very satisfied with Mount Usu and Lake Toya; the view from the observation deck at the end of the ropeway was truly beautiful. There are stairs to the observation deck, but the ascent is gentle. It does require some physical effort, but it's not a difficult course, so I encourage you to give it a try.
However, be aware that you need to line up for the return ropeway about 10 minutes in advance, so it's best to check your schedule carefully. I think it's a course worth experiencing at least once.

ツアーでは支笏湖は大変良かったのですが、自分的には遊覧船は乗らずに散策していた方が良かったかも、というスタートでした。
有珠山、洞爺湖については大満足でした、ロープウェイの先の展望台はホントにキレイでした。展望台までは階段有りですが緩やかな登りです。ちょっと体力使いますが無理なコースではありませんのでチャレンジしてみてください。
ただし帰りのロープウェイは10分ぐらい前から並びますのでスケジュールはしっかりと確認してからがいいと思います。
1度は廻ってみたいコースだと思います。

I participated in late July. As others have mentioned, there were few Japanese participants, about 20%. The majority were of Chinese descent, making up 70%, with the remaining 10% from other backgrounds. The guide was also of Chinese descent and explained the itinerary and highlights in three languages: Japanese, English, and Chinese. While some others commented negatively about the large number of inbound tourists, on the day I attended, there were no ill-mannered individuals, and I did not experience anything particularly unpleasant.
However, as mentioned earlier, the guide repeated the same content three times (in Japanese, English, and Chinese), which might feel lengthy and annoying to some.
What concerned me was that the bus was going quite fast, even on mountain roads. Since this tour covers many popular tourist spots, it seems there is a time constraint, and the driver may have no choice but to speed. I think the itinerary should be reconsidered.
