I made a last-minute reservation at 9 PM the day before. It was amazing to go to the flat without any issues! There were six participants, and besides me, everyone was from Taiwan and China. The guide, who was only 30 years old, spoke English very well! He was attentive and engaged each participant in conversation, adjusting the pace as needed. There were some older participants, but he created an atmosphere where everyone cheered together, making it a fun three hours!

The guide had a wonderful smile! I’ll definitely request him again next time!

何もなしでフラット行けて最高😃
参加者は6人！私以外は台湾🇹🇼と中国🇨🇳の方でした。
ガイドのお兄さんは30歳と若いのに、英語も上手！気配りができて、参加者一人一人に話題を振って話したり、ペース調整をしてくれました。高齢の方も居ましたが、みんなで応援📣する雰囲気を作ってくれ、楽しい3時間となりました！

お兄さんは笑顔😊が素敵！次来る時もお兄さん指名で👍

We had a great winter experience trekking with snowshoes to see the drift ice at Abashiri Hokkaido. Our guide Kaneko -san was excellent...spoke English and very professional in guiding us through the route where we saw deers, fox, birds and bear foot prints on the snow. We were rewarded with a beautiful sight of the drift ice off the sea shores (we can actually touch the drift ice) and Kaneko -san prepared for us hot chocolate drinks and biscuits. Had time for a small picnic and we took numerous photos of the drift ice and the nearby water fall. When you are at Abashiri, this is a must do activity... especially for us who come from a tropical country like Malaysia.

Seeing the drifting ice and ice falls for the first time was truly moving. It felt like a dream to be able to ride on the drifting ice. The guide was absolutely wonderful. During the trekking, they compacted the snow to ensure our safety and constantly checked in with us. They also shared very easy-to-understand information about the flora and fauna of Hokkaido and the drifting ice. Along the way, the soup they prepared was incredibly delicious! It was such a luxurious time in the great outdoors. Even someone in their late 50s like me felt completely safe participating. Thank you, Takki!

初めて見る流氷、氷瀑は本当に感動的でした。流氷に乗ることができたのも夢のようでした。
ガイドさんが何より素晴らしかったです。
トレッキングでは安全に進めるよう雪を固めて下さったり、常に声かけをして下さったり…また北海道の動植物、流氷の話しなどとても分かりやすかったです。
途中、用意して下さったスープがめちゃくちゃ美味しかった！大自然の中でなんとも贅沢な時間でした。
50代後半のワタシでも安心して参加することができました。

I was worried that I might not see anything on the day of the tour since it suddenly got warm, but while traveling by car, I searched for the eagles and was able to see both the Steller's sea eagle and the white-tailed eagle at Lake Tōfutsu.

On two occasions, I was close enough to see their yellow beaks and legs with the naked eye, and I was able to quietly observe them while feeling excited, which was a lot of fun. On the way back, I was very lucky to see a Steller's sea eagle flying alongside the car as if it were racing with us.

1人での参加でしたが、ガイドさんももう1組のゲストともワイワイお話ししながら楽しみました。ありがとうございます！

急に暖かくなったのでツアー当日は見られないかも、と心配しながら参加しましたが、車で移動しながらワシの姿を探し、濤沸湖でオオワシ、オジロワシともに見ることができました。
その内、2回は肉眼で黄色い嘴や脚がわかるほどに近く、興奮しながらも静かに観察できて、とても楽しかったです。
帰りの移動の際も、まるで車に並走するかのようにオオワシが飛んでいる姿を見ることができて、とてもラッキーでした。

The view from the top of the mountain after snowshoeing was so magnificent that I was amazed. Of course, the scenery and the warm drink provided by the guide at the summit were fantastic, but simply going down on the sled was incredibly fun. Even as an adult, I couldn't help but get really excited!

スノーシューで山の上まで行って見えた景色は壮大すぎてびっくりしました。
もちろん、景色もてっぺんでガイドさんにもらった温かい飲み物も最高でしたが！、そりで下っていくのがシンプルにめちゃくちゃ楽しかったです。
大人でも大はしゃぎしてしまいました。

Since I participated alone, I was able to be quite flexible! The guide shared a lot of knowledge about the trees and wildlife along the way to and from the drifting ice, which was very educational and allowed me to truly appreciate the nature and grandeur of Hokkaido!

1人で参加だったこともありかなり柔軟に対応いただけました！
ガイドさんの知識で流氷に向かう前後の道中も木や生き物のことたくさん教えていただきすごく勉強になりより北海道の自然、雄大さを感じることができました！

I participated alone! It turned out to be a one-on-one experience since others canceled, haha. I was of course satisfied to see the eider ducks, but I also really enjoyed the time spent chatting with the guide! I was happy to see the drift ice as well ☺️ On the way back, I was given a ride to my next destination. I think even those who aren't knowledgeable about wildlife can enjoy this experience! I highly recommend it!

The Shiretoko drifting ice was amazing!
I was moved to see the Steller's sea eagle and the white-tailed eagle, among others!
The ice was a thin blue and white, creating a very magical atmosphere!
The captain's stories were great; he shared real experiences and knowledge in a way that was easy to understand!

知床流氷サイコーでした！
大わしやオオジロワシ、とど、などがみれて感動しました!
氷は薄いブルーとホワイトですごく幻想的でした！
船長さんのお話しもリアル体験や知識を分かりやすく自分の言葉で話されててとても良かった！

In the midst of the snow falling and stopping, we searched for eagles while driving. Once we found one, we got out of the car and observed it for about 10 to 15 minutes with binoculars. I was a bit anxious about whether we would be able to see them, but shortly after we set off, our guide spotted a white-tailed eagle, and we were able to observe it. The explanations were clear, and I was satisfied that we could see both the white-tailed eagle and the Steller's sea eagle. I also managed to take some great photos.

雪が降ったり止んだりの中、車で移動しながらワシを探して見つけたら車を降りて10分、15分ほど双眼鏡などで観察。見れるか不安な所はありましたが、出発してすぐにオジロワシをガイドさんが発見し観察できました。
解説も分かりやすく、オジロワシ・オオワシの両方を見ることが出来たので満足です。写真もバッチリ撮れました

I was able to see many Steller's sea eagles and white-tailed eagles. Thanks to the high-performance binoculars I was lent, I was able to see their beautiful forms very clearly. Additionally, I also encountered deer and foxes, and I thoroughly enjoyed the drifting ice and the sunset. The explanations and guidance were flexible, and although it was only half a day, I had a very fulfilling time.

オオワシとオジロワシにたくさん会うことができました。
高性能の双眼鏡を貸していただけたことで、とても美しい姿を見ることができました。
また、その他にシカやキツネにも会うことができたうえに、流氷や夕日も十分に堪能させていただきました。
説明や案内も臨機応変にしてくださり、半日でしたがとても充実した時間を過ごすことができました。

I thought it would be hard to find them, but surprisingly, they were flying around, which was a pleasant surprise.
I was able to confirm their differences with binoculars while being taught how to distinguish between them.

The day before was rainy, so I was a bit anxious, but it was clear from the morning, and I was able to participate without any issues. In the morning, a brown bear appeared at Shiretoko Five Lakes, so we quickly changed our plans and went trekking in the primeval forest in the afternoon. I was a little nervous since it was my first trekking experience, but I walked along a pathless route in the great outdoors, experiencing an extraordinary space like never before! Along the way, a chipmunk appeared looking for acorns, and it was so cute. I was also able to see bear claw marks and footprints. We successfully completed the tour of Shiretoko Five Lakes in the afternoon, and I enjoyed the entire day! I was able to hear a lot from our guide, and it was really fun!

前日が雨であった為、少し不安でしたが朝から快晴であった為無事に参加する事ができました。
朝に知床五湖にヒグマが出没した為、急遽午後に予定していた原生林のトレッキングを行いました。
初めてのトレッキングで少し不安でしたが、今まで体験した事のないような大自然の道なき道を歩いていき非日常の空間を体験できました！
途中でシマリスがどんぐりを探しに現れてとても可愛かったです。
熊の爪痕や足跡なども見る事ができました。
午後に変更になった知床五湖も無事に最後まで回ることができ、1日満喫できました！！ガイドさんのお話もたくさん聞く事ができ、すごく楽しかったです！

I’m really glad I participated in Mr. Umebayashi's tour. I was a bit anxious about joining alone, especially with the recent reports of brown bear sightings, but walking with a group of about ten people led by Mr. Umebayashi, who has over 20 years of guiding experience, made me feel very secure and allowed me to enjoy the forests of Shiretoko.

Mr. Umebayashi, who is from Osaka, had an interesting way of speaking (in standard Japanese) that was both entertaining and informative, hitting all the right points and providing rich learning experiences. He guided us through the history of the Shiretoko forests, recent changes, and challenges, sharing many insights that I wouldn't have understood on my own, which left me very satisfied.

My understanding of Shiretoko has deepened, and I would love to come back with my husband next time. The atmosphere among the group was also friendly, allowing us to relax and enjoy the experience. Thank you very much.

梅林さんのツアーに参加して本当に良かったです。
一人での参加と、ヒグマ出没情報が連日続いていたので不安の中の参加でしたが、ガイド歴20年以上の梅林さん率いる10名ほどのグループで歩くことで非常に安心して知床の森を楽しむことができました。
大阪出身の梅林さんのトーク（標準語ですが）が面白い中にも、ちゃんとポイントをついていて豊かな学びを得られました。
知床の森の歴史や最近の変化、課題なども織り交ぜながらガイドしていただき、自分一人で回っただけではわからない多くのことを知ることができ大満足です。
知床の解像度が上がり、次は夫と一緒にまた来たいと思いました。
グループの皆さんの雰囲気も和やかでリラックスして回れました。

On my first trip to Shiretoko, I wanted to make the most of the opportunity, so I joined this tour (the Great Loop). The tour was very fulfilling as I learned various things about Shiretoko's history, geography, and flora and fauna. I felt a bit nervous when I was shown the fresh bear claw marks and feeding grounds, but I was able to walk for three hours with peace of mind alongside an experienced guide. While many people seem to walk without a guide, I was able to fully enjoy the great nature of Shiretoko that I wouldn't have noticed otherwise!

せっかくの機会なので100%楽しみたいと思いこちらのツアー（大ループ）に参加しました。
知床の歴史、地理、動植物などさまざまなことを教わりながらのツアーは大変充実したものでした。
まだ新しいヒグマのツメ跡やエサ場を教えてもらった時は少しドキドキしましたが
経験豊富なガイドさんといっしょなので安心して３時間歩くことができました。
ガイド無しで歩くかたも多いようですが、それでは気付けない知床の大自然を満喫できました！

I participated in a tour around the Shiretoko Five Lakes for the first time. The guide was very pleasant and made a great impression from our first meeting. ガイドの方も初対面から温厚で非常に良い好感が持てました。ガイドの非常に丁寧で興味深い内容が多くて楽しい時間でした。

I had a veteran guide who showed me points that I definitely wouldn't have noticed if I were exploring on my own, such as bear claw marks, traces of ptarmigan eggs, and holes left by bears after eating hornet nests. The guide was also very knowledgeable about plants and the history of the land, making the three hours feel very short! I definitely want to come back to Shiretoko.

ベテランのガイドさんに担当していただき、個人で回っていたら絶対に気づかないようなポイント(クマの爪痕やライチョウの卵の痕跡、スズメバチの巣を熊が食べた後の穴など)を見せてもらったり、植物の知識や土地の歴史も豊富で3時間がとても短く感じました！また知床に来たいと思いました。

It was just a walk in the forest, but the guide explained various things, which made it enjoyable without getting bored. If I had to say something, it would have been nice to have the chance to see some animals like bears (of course, from a distance). That's just a matter of luck, so I'll save that for next time.

森の中を歩くだけではありますがガイドさんが色々なことを説明してくれたこともあり飽きずに楽しめました。強いて言えばクマなど何かしらの動物を見られる機会があったら良かったですが(もちろん遠くからながめるぐらいの距離感で、です)そこは運なので次の機会に取っておきたいと思います。

Not only did you answer various questions, but you also uniquely taught me about the ecology of plants and animals using a pocket guide and photos, which was very enjoyable.

いろいろな質問に答えていただくだけでなく、動植物の生態をポケットから図鑑や写真でユニークに教えていただき、とても楽しかったです。

I was very worried about whether I could walk for three hours since I was feeling unwell before the participation date. However, the weather on the day was nice, refreshing, and not too hot, and our guide, Mr. Kairin, was considerate, allowing us to participate comfortably and enjoyably. The path was also suitable for beginners. It was definitely the right choice to go with a guided tour without worrying about bears. Thank you very much.

参加日の前に体調を崩して3時間も歩けるかと大変心配しました。当日は天気も良くさっぱりして暑くもなく、またガイドの海林さんが気を使ってくださり快適に楽しく参加することができました。道も初心者でも大丈夫でした。

It was amazing!
There was a bear sighting, which caused some changes to the schedule, but they were very flexible in accommodating us.
We were able to fully enjoy the primeval forest and the cliffs, which we couldn't have done without a guide. We had a great time even in the rain thanks to their knowledge of the flora and fauna!

I walked the elevated walkway for the first time, and it was a fulfilling three hours that went by in a flash.

Unlike the previous day, the weather was favorable, making it a perfect day for a stroll.

地上遊歩道を初めて歩いたがあっという間の充実した3時間でした〜。

前日とはうって代わり天気にも恵まれ、散策日和でした。

I participated in a course that circled the five lakes, which took about three hours. After gathering, we received a lecture about brown bears and plants before setting off. There was always a sense of tension regarding the brown bears, but while listening to the enjoyable and thorough explanations from the veteran guide, I was able to experience the magnificence of untouched nature. Thank you very much.

五湖全周、約3時間のコースに参加しました。集合後、ヒグマや植物に関することなどのレクチャーを受けてからの出発となりました。ヒグマに対する緊張感は常にありましたが、ベテランのガイドさんの楽しくて、丁寧な説明を聞きながら、手付かずの大自然の素晴らしさを体感することができました。ありがとうございました。

With the guidance provided, I gained insights into animals and plants that I wouldn't have noticed without the explanations, and my friend and I reflected on how glad we were to participate.

The temperature was low, but I felt warmer than I expected. However, the guide's explanations were excellent, and I learned a lot of things. The quiz time was also fun. There were two groups from Japan, one from Singapore, and one from Taiwan, so we were quite mixed, but the explanations in Japanese, English, and Mandarin were impressive!

気温は低かったけど、思った以上に暑く感じました。しかしながらガイドさんの説明が上手く、色んな事が知れました。クイズタイムも楽しかった。同行は、日本二組、シンガポール一組、台湾一組とバラバラでしたが、日本語、英語、北京語まじえての説明はさすがですね～

It was a wonderful tour where I could learn about the nature, history, wildlife, and plants of Shiretoko while receiving explanations right in front of me. The guide's explanations were thorough, and the three hours flew by. It was also a good workout, so if I have the chance to visit Shiretoko again, I would like to participate once more.

知床の自然、歴史、生き物、植物について目の前で解説をしていただきながら学ぶことのできる素晴らしいツアーでした。ガイドの方の説明は丁寧で、3時間あっという間でした。いい運動にもなりましたので、また知床に来る機会があったら参加したいと思います。

I participated in a guided tour of Shiretoko Five Lakes. We walked at a leisurely pace while listening to the guide's stories. Since it was a small group, I was able to ask questions. Along the way, we encountered a mother and baby Ezo deer and were able to observe them up close. Each of the Shiretoko Five Lakes was beautiful in its own way.

知床五湖のガイドツアーに参加しました。ガイドさんの話を聞きながらゆっくりしたペースで歩きました。少人数のグループだったので質問もできました。途中エゾシカの親子に遭遇し、近距離で観察できました。知床五湖もそれぞれに美しかったです。

I really learned a lot from the explanations while seeing various aspects of nature. It's a shame that the weather wasn't great; it would have been perfect otherwise.
