Every year, we go on a day trip to celebrate my daughter's birthday. This year, after much deliberation, we decided on Kamakura. I wanted to make it a memorable trip, so I signed up for this kind of tour for the first time. It was really fun to hear various stories that you wouldn't know on your own, stories that aren't in textbooks. Exploring on our own is enjoyable, but having a guided tour creates a different kind of memory. I highly recommend it!

I was truly moved by the driver's thoughtfulness. They helped plan the itinerary for my mother, who has difficulty walking, and even waited just long enough for my sons to capture a photo opportunity at the Kamakura High School crossing. Each temple was explained to us, and they even described the fish-shaped leaves that could easily be overlooked in photos.
In fact, my mother has been given a prognosis of three months to live due to cancer, and this will be our last family trip. I believe that the enjoyable and fulfilling experience we had at the very end was thanks to the driver and your taxi service. Thank you very much.

In June, I thought it would be difficult to use a car for sightseeing in Kamakura, but this time, by using this tour, my family and I were able to leisurely enjoy the beautiful hydrangeas at Meigetsuin and the famous bamboo grove at Hōkokuji. We went to Kamakura, saw the ocean, and rode the Enoden. We utilized the service with my elderly parents in their eighties, who wanted to experience everything, including filming at Hachimangu Shrine and the Great Buddha. I was worried because there were moments when walking was difficult, but there was no need for concern.
At the designated spot, the driver was waiting in a way that was easy to understand, and they proposed a plan based on our requests when we made the reservation. They made sure my parents didn't have to walk up hills or stairs by driving around, and they took care of everything for us.
At both Hachimangu Shrine and the Great Buddha, the driver was knowledgeable and created a truly wonderful experience for us. In the end, they even took a photo with our family as a memory, and my parents were overjoyed and had a great time returning home. Thanks to the wonderful driver, we were able to show our appreciation to our parents. 八幡宮や大仏様もビデオ撮影をしたいという、あれもこれも体験したい八十代の高齢の父母と利用いたしました。
歩く事も難しい場面があるため、心配しておりましたが、心配無用でした。

We welcomed two aunts in their 70s and 80s from western Japan for their first sightseeing experience in Yokohama, accompanied by three women in their 40s who live in Yokohama.
Before departing from the hotel, we received an explanation of the Western-style buildings we would visit, allowing us to request specific ones we wanted to see. This gave us a sense of reassurance.
During the journey, we learned about Yokohama's historical buildings, as well as the history of Chinatown and Motomachi. The aunts, who were visiting Yokohama for the first time, were delighted and even asked the driver personal questions. His thoughtful responses left a strong impression.

The roads were heavily congested, and the parking lots were full, but they took back roads to get us to our destination, which saved us time. I wasn't aware of the road closures during certain hours, so I'm glad I didn't rent a car myself.
This time, I was a bit greedy and requested to go all the way to Enoshima, so the travel time felt a bit wasted, but since I was tired from the heat, it was nice to relax in the cool car. They provided great sightseeing information and took many photos that we wouldn't have been able to capture as a group, which made me very satisfied.
Time was limited, so it was a bit busy, but next time, I would like to narrow down the locations so we can take our time and enjoy it more. I would definitely like to use their service again.

結果、大正解でした。
道は大渋滞で、駐車場も一杯でしたが、裏道を通って目的地へ行っていただき、時間も短縮できました。
通行止めの時間帯も把握できていなかったので、自分でレンタカーを借りなくて良かったです。
この度は、欲張って江の島までをお願いしたので、移動時間が少し勿体無かったですが、暑さで疲れていたので涼しい車内でゆっくり出来たのも良かったです。
観光案内、なかなか皆で撮れない写真も沢山撮って頂き満足です。
時間が限られているので、少し忙しかったですが、次は場所を絞ってゆっくり見れるよう、またお願いしたいと思います。

We stayed in Kamakura for one night with our family of four (three generations) and on the first day, we walked around Hachimangu Shrine and nearby temples. On the second day, we planned to explore the western area, but due to the crowds and difficulty accessing public transportation, we decided to request a sightseeing taxi.
They picked us up at the hotel, and during the planning process, they helped us choose destinations that matched our preferences. The explanations were precise, and our whole family was very satisfied.
For lunch, we wanted to try "shirasu," and when we asked for recommendations, they took us to Enoshima. On the way back, they also showed us a route to avoid the crowds in Kamakura. It turned out to be a great trip. We are grateful.

I knew it would be crowded during the holiday, so I thought it would be quite congested on foot or by train, and decided to use a taxi, as the drivers know the local roads well. As expected, it was quite crowded, just as the news had said, but thanks to the driver who was very familiar with the roads and attractions, we were able to smoothly visit places that would be difficult to reach on our own, with guidance and explanations provided. The driver was also a very nice person and had clearly studied well. Because of this, I didn't feel tired and was able to have a wonderful holiday. It does cost money, but I believe there were many benefits that outweighed the expense. I highly recommend it to those who haven't used this service yet.

I was picked up and dropped off at the station by taxi. Yokohama is vast, so walking can be tough, but it was very convenient to have the taxi take us around the city. We were able to see a lot of sights within two hours. Since we received various explanations, it was much easier and more enjoyable than walking on our own, especially since walking up the hill can be challenging. We got out at the Diplomat's House and thoroughly enjoyed the Western-style mansion.

First of all, I just want to say it was amazing.
- Itinerary
Great Buddha of Kamakura → Zeniarai Benten → Tsurugaoka Hachimangu (viewed only from the car) → Hōkoku-ji → Komachi Street
I traveled with my 19-year-old self, my grandmother in her 80s, and her sister. Since my grandmother has trouble with her legs, we avoided places with many steps. I hope this helps. (Hōkoku-ji has a short flight of stairs at the beginning.)
Since it was hydrangea season, I considered visiting famous hydrangea spots like Hase-dera, but I gave up on Hase-dera due to the many stairs. I was torn between Meigetsu-in and Hōkoku-ji, but Hōkoku-ji had many beautiful hydrangeas, combining bamboo and hydrangeas nicely.
- Highlights
1: Thanks to the taxi privilege, we had no trouble securing parking and enjoyed smooth sightseeing without feeling any wait time.
2: The driver provided stable driving in the narrow and challenging roads of Kamakura. (I do not recommend renting a car; the roads are too narrow and congested. If you're unsure, I recommend this option.)
3: The driver, who knew the local roads well, took us through many less crowded back roads.
4: We were able to see famous spots and the Enoden tracks that can only be viewed from the car.
5: At tourist spots, the driver got out of the taxi to accompany us and shared interesting stories (not overly preachy).
6: Komachi Street is quite long and wide, making it difficult to explore everything, but I was very grateful to be dropped off near the shop where my grandmother's sister wanted to buy Kamakura ham. It saved us a lot of hassle.
7: On the way back, we were dropped off at Shin-Yokohama Station. (It may not be possible depending on the driver's schedule that day, so it's best to mention it in advance.)
- Areas for Improvement
There was no confirmation call before departure, and I only received an automated reservation confirmation email from VELTRA. I had written detailed itinerary requests and questions (such as whether there were difficult places due to my grandmother's legs and if we could cover everything in three hours), but I received no response. We were supposed to be picked up at Starbucks Kamakura Onarimachi, but I became anxious due to the lack of communication and called the operating company, Green Hire, 10 minutes before the pickup. (I apologize for the trouble.) Then, I received a call from the driver five minutes before, who informed me of the stopping location and the car's license plate number. I believe the five-minute notice is standard, but it felt too last-minute... If you're feeling anxious, it might be better to contact Green Hire directly instead of going through VELTRA.
In any case, I had a very enjoyable trip, and I truly appreciate it. I will definitely use your services again if the opportunity arises.
まず、最高だったということだけ書いておきます。
・行程
高徳院大仏→銭洗弁財天→鶴岡八幡宮(車窓から見るのみ)→報国寺→小町通り
19歳の私と、80代の祖母・祖母の姉という3人組での旅行となりました。祖母が脚を悪くしており、段差の多い場所などを避けた行程になっています。ご参考になれば幸いです。(報国寺は初めに少し階段がありますが、短いです。)
紫陽花の季節だったので長谷寺など紫陽花名所も考えましたが、長谷寺は階段が多いということで諦めました。明月院と報国寺で迷っておりましたが、報国寺にも綺麗な紫陽花がたくさんあり、竹と紫陽花のいいとこどりでした。
・良かったところ
1 : タクシー特権で駐車場の確保などに一切困らず、待ち時間を感じないスムーズな観光でした。
2 : 運転の難しい鎌倉の狭い道の中で安定した運転でした。(レンタカーはおすすめしません。道が狭いし混むしで難しすぎると思います。迷われている方はこちらをおすすめします。)
3 : 地元の道を知り尽くす運転手さんは混雑の少ない裏道をたくさんご存知でした。
4 : 車からでしか見れない名所や江ノ電の線路などを通りすがりに見せて頂きました。
5 : 観光地では運転手さんがタクシーを降りて着いてきて下さり、説明(説教臭くない程度のおもしろい小話)をしてくださりました。
6 : 小町通りはかなり長く広く、全て回るのは難しかったですが、祖母の姉が買いたがっていた鎌倉ハムのお店の近くで降ろして頂き大変助かりました。手間が省けました。
6 : 帰りは新横浜の駅まで送って頂きました。(その日の運転手の方の都合によってできない場合があると思われます。事前に言っておくのがいいです。)
・改善して欲しいところ
出発前に確認の電話等がなく、VELTRAの自動送信の予約確認メールが来ただけで、かなり詳細に書いた行程希望や質問(脚が悪いと難しい場所はあるか、3時間で周り切れるかどうかなど)に対してなにも返信がありませんでした。
今回はスターバックス鎌倉御成町店にお迎えに来ていただく予定でしたが、連絡がなさすぎて怖くなり、10分前に催行会社のグリンハイヤー様にお電話させていただきました。(その節はご迷惑をおかけしました。)すると5分前に運転手の方からお電話があり、停まっている場所と車のナンバーを教えて頂きました。おそらく5分前の連絡はあらかじめあるものだと思われますが、あまりに直前すぎるかと思います…
不安な場合はVELTRAからの予約ではなく、グリンハイヤー様に直接お問い合わせがいいかもしれません。
とにかく、大変楽しい旅をさせていただき、本当にありがとうございました。今後また機会があれば利用させていただきます。
