I was a bit anxious before participating in the tour to Kyoto and Nara because it was only available in English, and I don't speak English very well. However, the guide was kind and helpful, which made the experience very enjoyable. I'm glad I signed up for it.
参加日の京都、奈良に行くツアーが、英語ツアーしかなく、そんなに英語が喋れたりもしないので、参加する前は少し不安でしたが、ガイドさんが優しく、親切に対応してくれた事もあり、大変楽しく参加する事が出来ました。申し込んで良かったと思っています。

I participated in a day trip tour from Osaka to Amanohashidate and the Ine Boat Houses. I think I could probably go on my own, but the tour is convenient since they take you by bus. Unfortunately, it was a cloudy day, so Amanohashidate looked a bit hazy, but it was still very beautiful. I didn't know about the Ine Boat Houses, but it's a very lovely town that you can explore in about 20 minutes. Riding the sightseeing boat and feeding the seagulls was also a lot of fun.

The tour guide frequently expressed feeling unwell, which made us anxious.
On our way from Kyoto to Amanohashidate, we took the wrong highway, and as soon as we exited the interchange, we had to make a U-turn in front of the toll booth and get back on the highway. This was the first time I experienced something like this while using a bus. I was worried that an accident might happen. After that, I felt uneasy. In the end, we missed the sightseeing boat at Ine's Funaya that we were supposed to take in the morning. Despite the bad weather in the evening, the bus departed without checking on the passengers left behind.
Even while driving on the highway, the tour guide was moving around the bus collecting fees for optional activities and was being called out loudly by the driver.
It seemed that the coordination between the driver and the tour guide was terrible, creating a negative atmosphere inside the bus.

As people in our 60s, we were able to move around easily without getting tired. The car was warm, shielding us from the cold, making for a comfortable and enjoyable day. We gathered at the meeting point, which was the tourist bus parking lot under the GOGODAY flag. However, when we arrived, almost all the tour buses had the GOGODAY flag displayed, and we searched for our bus but couldn't find it. While we were standing there, a foreign guide called out to us, and we thought we could finally board, but it turned out that the bus wasn't parked in the lot. Instead, we had to walk about 200 meters to a convenience store parking lot, where we found not a bus, but a 10-seater HiAce wagon. We ended up being exactly 10 passengers, but as expected, the interior was so cramped that we couldn't move. During the ride to the first destination, the uncomfortable vehicle made me feel unwell, and I decided I couldn't take it anymore, so I canceled the tour. After that, I returned to Kyoto Station using public transportation.

Amanohashidate and Ine were wonderful places worth visiting at least once. However, the tour itself was the worst.
First, the sightseeing boat in Ine could only be booked at 12:00 or 16:00, so the order of Amanohashidate and Ine was suddenly switched. At this point, it was already questionable, but then the driver made a wrong turn, causing a nearly 20-minute delay, and we ultimately missed the 12:00 boat, changing to the 16:00 boat instead. We toured Amanohashidate as originally planned. At this point, the guide was expressing dissatisfaction with the driver in Chinese and venting to the Chinese tourists after arriving at Amanohashidate. The guide probably wanted to say that it wasn't their fault, but from the customer's perspective, the guide and driver are on the same team. By the way, the driver did not apologize for the delay at all.
We headed from Amanohashidate to Ine, but this time the guide and driver started arguing again about whether we could reach the funaya by bus. The guide used the bus microphone to express dissatisfaction with the driver in Chinese again, leaving non-Chinese speakers completely out of the loop. Also, although we were supposed to gather at the parking lot at 15:45, the bus was nowhere to be found. While the parking spaces were full, it seemed there was a lack of communication between the guide and driver, and we were left wandering around not knowing where to board.
After disembarking from the sightseeing boat, we stopped by the tourist information center to pick up those who hadn't taken the boat, but there was no explanation about this at all. In the end, we arrived at Kyoto Station an hour late, but despite the obvious human error causing the delay, there was no proper apology.
Additionally, with 48 participants, the bus was so cramped that it couldn't accommodate everyone without using extra seats, leading to arguments among tourists over seating. Couldn't they have capped the tour at a smaller number or arranged for two buses?
This tour began with an unthinkable mistake for a professional, where the sightseeing bus driver made a wrong turn, followed by a clear lack of communication between the guide and driver, and the guide's lack of professionalism in airing internal issues to the customers. I was exhausted from being caught up in things I never wanted to see as a customer. I never want to experience a tour like this again.

天橋立から伊根へと向かったが、今度はバスで舟屋に行けるか否かで再びガイドと運転手が揉め出した。ガイドはバスのマイクを使って中国語で運転手への不満を再びぶちまけるが、中国語の話者以外は完全に置き去りだった。また、3時45分に駐車場で集合のはずなのにバスがいない。駐車スペースが満車だったこともあるが、ガイドと運転手の間で連絡ができていないのか、駐車場以外のどこで乗るかもわからず右往左往させられた。
遊覧船を下船後も、観光案内所に遊覧船に乗らなかった人をピックアップするために立ち寄ったが、そうした説明は全くなかった。結局、京都駅に１時間遅れで到着したが、明らかな人為的ミスによる遅延にも関わらず、これといった謝罪もなかった。
さらに、参加者が48人と多く、バスは補助席を出さなければ参加者全員を収容できないありさまで、非常に窮屈だった。おかげで、座席を巡るツアー客同士の口論までおきた。より少ない人数でツアーを締め切る、あるいはバスを２台用意するなどできなかったのか。

Previously, I found it a bit cumbersome to look for transportation options while sightseeing in Kyoto, perhaps due to my age. This time, I was torn between a guided tour and a sightseeing shuttle bus, but choosing the shuttle bus was definitely the right decision. Since my flight from Itami was in the evening, I could only explore until around 2 PM, but if I were to visit again, I would love to spend a full day exploring.
I want to particularly mention that the male tour guide was friendly and engaging, allowing for various conversations, which made for truly enjoyable travel memories. My wife and I are very grateful for that. We also had some photos taken.

Even during a short trip of about three hours from Toji Temple to Nishi Honganji Temple to Higashi Honganji Temple to Koryuji Temple and finally to a restaurant in Uzumasa, I felt like I got a good sense of Kyoto. It was our family's first trip to Kyoto. Choosing the private taxi plan was definitely the right decision. Our driver, Masui, shared stories that you wouldn't normally hear just from sightseeing, including unique anecdotes and local knowledge that only residents would know. It seemed like our elementary and middle school children enjoyed it as well. Plus, Masui was tall, so it was easy to spot him in crowded places, which helped us avoid getting lost!

It was a 5-hour course. The driver was very good, and I was satisfied with the enjoyable tour of the places I wanted to visit. They also took me to a restaurant where I could have a traditional Japanese lunch, which I truly appreciated. We were able to do the sightseeing exactly as we wished. I was very satisfied.
During the 5 hours, I leisurely enjoyed Daitoku-ji, Kinkaku-ji, a city drive, and Fushimi Inari. I learned about the beauty of Kyoto and things I didn't know before. I am grateful to our kind driver, Mr. K.

It was a trip for five of us: my parents, our child, and my husband and I. Since my mother has trouble with her legs, it was definitely the right decision to make a reservation.
It was incredibly crowded due to the New Year! We had no plan on where to go, but our driver thoughtfully guided us to places that were accessible for my mother and not too crowded, which made my parents very happy.
We wouldn't have been able to visit so many places on our own. Thank you, Mr. Katayama!

I communicated the places I wanted to visit on the day, and considering the crowds, they organized a route that allowed for a very comfortable sightseeing experience. The driver, who was also a guide with a background in bus guiding, provided excellent explanations. When I showed him pictures of the area around Hiyoshi Pagoda and indicated where I wanted to take photos, he took me to the right slope. He also accompanied me into the sightseeing spots and provided explanations, allowing me to hear various stories, which made for an enjoyable time. Thank you very much.

Since it was my first trip to Kyoto, I used a sightseeing taxi. I was worried because my 2-year-old grandchild was with me, but Mr. Katayama, the driver, was very considerate, and I was able to relax and enjoy myself. This time, we visited Kinkaku-ji and Kiyomizu-dera, and I was truly impressed by Mr. Katayama's thorough guidance. My grandchildren, who are in the first year of middle school and fifth grade, listened to Mr. Katayama's stories, saying they had learned about these places in school. Thanks to Mr. Katayama, we had the best time in Kyoto.
