It was fun. The weather wasn't perfectly clear, but it was generally nice, not too cold, and there was no wind, which was a big plus. The wait time was about 15 minutes, and it went smoothly. The autumn leaves were beautiful, and the boat ride was just the right amount of thrilling. I thought an hour and a half would be long, but the three boatmen took turns sharing interesting stories, and before I knew it, we had arrived. If I had to point out a downside, it was a bit cramped with four people in a row, especially if someone is large (though it was warm during the cold season). When I bought sweet sake from the shop boat, I was taken off before I could finish drinking it, so I wished I had at least another five minutes to enjoy it. Overall, it was a satisfying and enjoyable experience.
楽しかったです。快晴とまではいかなかったけど概ね良い天気で寒くもなく風もなかったのも大きかったです。
待ち時間も15分くらいですんなりでした。
紅葉はきれいで船も適度にスリリング。
1時間半ほどと聞いて長いなと思ってたけど、3人の船頭さんが代わる代わる味のある語りで飽きさせず、気づけばついてました。
強いて難点を言えば、一列4人で大きい人がいるとちょっと狭い（寒い時期は暖かいけど）。
店船で甘酒等を買っても飲み終わらないうちに降ろされてしまったので、せめてあと5分くらい味わう時間が欲しかった。
全体的には満足の楽しい体験でした。

Boarded on November 21. It was a busy season, and the waiting room was crowded with people for the 12:00 reservation, but my name was called at 12:15, so I was glad I made a reservation. Since it had rained the night before, the water level was high, making it easier to paddle. We arrived at Arashiyama in an hour and a half instead of the planned two hours, which allowed us to make it in time for our lunch reservation afterward. The autumn leaves seemed to be at their peak, and there were thrills and laughter, plus we enjoyed the nearby food boats. I was very satisfied. Seats are assigned. Since there are four people per row, it might feel a bit cramped if there is a larger person.

It was a series of clear days, and although the water level was the lowest of the season, we finished our boat trip in 1 hour and 40 minutes. Three boatmen took turns guiding us from the bow, middle, and stern, and each of them engaged us in very enjoyable conversations, making the time fly by without a dull moment. Shortly after departure, there was a bit of fog and it was cold enough to need a down jacket, but it cleared up along the way, and we had a pleasantly warm and comfortable ride down the river. It was truly a great experience.

I wanted to see the autumn leaves, but my 82-year-old mother has difficulty walking. I thought we could enjoy it without walking if we took a boat, so we participated together. My mother was worried, saying, "I can't swim," but the boatman reassured her, saying, "You definitely won't sink, so it's okay." In the end, whether you have a reservation or not, you end up waiting the same amount of time upon arrival. For those who can schedule after the Hozu River boat ride, I recommend making reservations with ample time during this season.

After a 10-minute ride on the JR train from Saga-Arashiyama Station, I arrived at Kameoka Station. It took about 5 to 6 minutes on foot to reach the boarding area while seeing Kyocera Stadium on my right.
After completing the check-in, I was guided to the boat in less than 10 minutes of waiting, and the adventure of the Hozu River boat ride began. The skilled navigation and chatter of the three boatmen entertained all the passengers on board.
The colorful autumn leaves were vibrant, and everyone was taking lots of photos. The excitement of getting splashed with water while going down the rapids was also fun, making it a memorable 1 hour and 50-minute boat journey.
Thank you to the boatmen from that time!
嵯峨嵐山駅からJRで10分亀岡駅に到着。京セラスタジアムを右手に見ながら徒歩5,6分で乗場です。
受付を済ませ、待つこと10分足らずで舟に案内され、いよいよ保津川下りの始まりです。3人の船頭さんの巧みな操船とお喋りが満員の乗船客を楽しませてくれます。
色付いた紅葉は目にも鮮やかで、皆さん写真を撮りまくっていました。
急流を下る時には全身水を被るハプニングも楽しく、一生心に残る1時間50分の船旅でした。

I joined thinking it would just be a relaxing boat ride while enjoying the scenery, and I was looking forward to eating oden at the end! However, there were three boatmen who provided explanations and stories throughout the trip✨ Since I was at the very front, I was able to engage in conversation and had an amazing time‼️ More than anything, the explanations were great, but the jokes and banter made it incredibly entertaining. It rained, but I think that added a unique touch to the experience, making it a memorable one in a different way‼️ I will definitely go again.
ただ船に乗って揺られながら景色をみて、最後におでんとか食べるのが楽しみなやつ！と思い込んで参加しました。が、船頭さん３人居て終始説明やお話をしてくれました✨1番前だったのもあって、会話も出来てものすごく楽しめました‼️なにより、説明もそうだけど、冗談やツッコミもあって最高に面白かったです雨だったけど、それもなかなか味わえないかと思うので違った形で思い出になりました‼️また絶対行きます

I had previously taken the trolley train, but due to my travel schedule, I couldn't board the Hozu River boat ride. This time, I managed to join the schedule mainly focused on the Hozu River descent. I have experienced rafting and various river descents, but this time the water level on the Hozu River was the lowest of the year, allowing for a leisurely boat trip to Togetsukyo Bridge.
I boarded from the second seat on the right side, and unexpectedly, I was splashed by waves, leaving my lower body completely soaked. However, that became a wonderful memory of the trip. 以前よりトロッコ列車に乗車はしておりましたが、旅行日程の都合で保津川下りには乗船することが出来ず、今回保津川下りメインのスケジュールで何とか乗船することができました
ラフティングやあらゆる川下りを体験して来ましたが、保津川の川下りは今回水量が今年一番の少なさということで、渡月橋までのんびりとした船旅を満喫出来ました
私の乗船した場所は前から2番目の右側で途中思いもやらぬ波の洗礼を受け右下半身ずぶ濡れになりましたが、それも旅の良い思い出となりました
次回は水量の多い日に是非乗船したいと思います。

The autumn leaves are still a little while away. There are some areas that are starting to change color. Therefore, it wasn't crowded. The stories from the boatmen were enjoyable. It seems the water level was a bit low, so we were on the boat for about an hour and 45 minutes. However, we did get splashed a little. When the boatman signals, everyone on the left and right should definitely lift their seats. I get seasick on the ocean, but not on the river. (^.^) Next time, I would like to visit during the peak season for the autumn leaves.

I was recommended by a friend to definitely experience the Hozu River Boat Ride if I came to Kyoto during this season, so I made a reservation. My reservation was for 11:00, but when I arrived at the boarding area at 9:45, I received number 42 and was called right away, so I was on the boat by 10:00! I think there were more than 20 people on each boat. The boatman kept us entertained with humorous stories throughout the approximately two-hour ride, and we were laughing the whole time. It was the beginning of the autumn leaves, and the contrast of the green and yellow leaves below with the red leaves above was very beautiful. One highlight was when the boatman walked along the edge of the boat to switch places, and it was just perfect timing when the vendor boat came alongside selling beer and sweet sake. 友人からこの時期に京都に来るなら絶対に保津川下りを体験して！と勧められて予約しました。11時の予約でしたが9時45分に乗船場に着いたら、42番と言う番号を貰ってすぐに呼んでいただいて10時に船に乗っていた！と思います。一艘に20人以上は乗っていたと思います。船頭さんはおよそ２時間の川下りの間、お客様を飽きさせないように漫談のようなお喋りをして下さってずっと笑いっぱなしでした。紅葉の初めだったのですが、もみじの下が緑、黄色、上だけ紅に紅葉しているコントラストがとても綺麗でした。途中で船頭さんが船のヘリを歩いて交替するのも見どころですし、売店船が並走してビールや甘酒を売ってくれるのも丁度頃合いが良かったです。そして、何よりも私は後ろの方の座席だったのですが、お喋りする船頭さんのお話しが聞き取りにくいんじゃないかと心配していたら、後ろの船頭さんも説明をしてくださってとても嬉しかったです。下船の際には中高年の私の手を取って下ろして下さって、「至れり尽くせり！」とはこの事だわ〜♀️と関心しました。観光客をスムーズに案内し、喜ばせ、感動させ、満足させてくれる保津川下りでした。有難うございました。

I was lucky to be able to make a reservation through Veltra for an early autumn leaf viewing on the Hozu River, as there were no direct reservations available. If I had gone directly, I would have had to wait 1 hour and 50 minutes on a weekday. I arrived earlier than my reserved time, but the check-in process was smooth, and after using the restroom, I was guided right away to depart.
The boatman was youthful and shared enjoyable stories, making the experience even more delightful as we admired the mountains and various rock formations. It was a peaceful experience where I could really feel the nature around me. I would love to go on the boat again.
少し早い紅葉狩りに保津川下り直接の予約はなく、ベルトラさんで予約可能だったのでラッキーでした。
直接だと平日でしたが1時間50分待ちの案内が出てました。予約時間よりも早く着いたのですが受付もスムーズでトイレだけ済ませたらすぐに案内され出発できました。
遠い記憶で乗船した時よりも、船頭さんも若々しく楽しいお話し案内してくださり、山々やいろんな岩の形状を楽しく観賞出来来ました。
穏やかで自然をたくさん感じられました。
また、乗船したいと思います。

The boat ride was enjoyable, but two of the three boatmen kept asking for money repeatedly. Of course, I understood it was a joke, but after hearing it so many times, it became quite tiresome. Even knowing it was a joke, it left a bit of an unpleasant aftertaste.

I remembered it being very cold around this time last time, so I dressed warmly, but the weather was clear and the river was calm, making it quite pleasant—almost hot, in fact! Three boatmen took turns rowing while sharing interesting stories and performances, keeping us entertained for two hours without getting bored. At this time of year, there were just a few hints of autumn leaves, and the clarity of the water along with the greenery and blue sky was incredibly refreshing. I thought I would love to come back during the autumn foliage season or cherry blossom season as well.
8年前に保津川下りした際にとても楽しかった記憶で、今回日帰り弾丸ツアーに組み込んでみました。前回も今ぐらいの時期でとても寒かった記憶なので防寒していきましたが、天気も快晴で、川の流れも穏やかで、とても心地よく、むしろ暑いぐらいでした！3人の船頭さんが交代で立ち位置変えて漕いでくれるのですが、各々に面白い喋りやパフォーマンスを交えてくれ、二時間飽きずに楽しめます。この時期はまだ紅葉がほんの少しだけ彩っている感じで、水の透明度と緑と青空が最高にリフレッシュ出来ましたが、紅葉の時期も桜の時期もまた来たいなと思いました。

The autumn foliage on the Hozu River was still early, but the trip lasted nearly two hours, and I really enjoyed immersing myself in nature. The water was clear enough to see the riverbed. There were both gentle and rapid sections of the river, with some areas where splashes of water would hit you. It’s advisable to use the seat next to the boat to prevent getting wet.
There were various rocks along the way, and I spent a relaxing time with the fun guidance of the boatman while watching the tram and JR trains. The boats were crowded, and it was a bit disappointing that it was unclear which boat to board, as they only announced the numbers. Towards the end, I felt sorry that there wasn’t enough time to enjoy the food I bought at the onboard shop. The weather changed midway, and it started to rain, so rain gear is necessary.
保津川下り紅葉にはまだ早かったですが、所要時間も2時間近くあり、自然を満喫できて楽しかったです。
川底が見えるぐらい、水もキレイでした。
川の流れが緩やかな所や激しい所もあり、水しぶきがかかる所もありました。舟の横にあるシートは利用した方が水濡れが防げます。
色々な岩があり、トロッコ列車やＪR列車を見ながら船頭さんの楽しいガイドで癒しの時間を過ごせました。
舟は密で、何艘かあるどの舟に乗るのか？番号をアナウンスされただけで、分かりにくく残念でした。
終わりの方に船上売店で買った食べ物をゆっくり食べる時間がなく、気の毒に感じました。途中で天気が変わり、雨が降って来たので雨具は必要です。
