I usually live in the city and signed up for this tour in search of nature. Unfortunately, I couldn't go to Barasu Island during the winter, but I had a great time participating in the tour. I was able to experience the beauty and vastness of nature that videos and photos can't convey, which made me fall in love with Iriomote Island.
普段は都会に住んでおり、自然を求めてこのツアーに申し込みました。
あいにく、冬場でバラス島には行けませんでしたが、ツアーに参加して楽しい時間を過ごせました。
動画や写真では伝わらない自然の良さや大きさを体感することができ、西表島を好きになるきっかけとなりました。
カヌーの中に水が入って、序盤からお尻がびしょ濡れになるので着替え必須です。写真は撮ってもらえますが、スマホに防水カバーを付けて持って行ったので、カヌーを漕ぎながらたくさん写真が撮れました。

We participated as a family of five (children aged 10, 8, and 4). It was quite challenging to find tours for small children for canoeing and trekking, but we came across Komorebito Trip. I had many concerns before participating, but the thorough explanations provided in advance made me feel at ease!
Our guide, Ikachan, was very cheerful and incredibly kind! She was attentive to the children's safety throughout the trip, which I truly appreciated. My 4-year-old was excitedly enjoying the jungle exploration! I definitely want to participate again! Thank you, Ikachan!
I highly recommend this for families traveling with children! Additionally, since it is run by an individual, having the same guide (Ikachan) is also a reassuring factor.

In early February, during a cold wave where a down jacket was necessary on Ishigaki Island, I made a reservation for SUP and snorkeling here.
The day before, I received a call confirming that due to rough seas, the SUP at Kabira Bay would be changed to mangrove SUP, and the landing at the Blue Cave and Phantom Island would not be possible, so it would be changed to snorkeling at Sakura Beach. They also mentioned that the price would be adjusted later.
Therefore, I requested mangrove SUP in the morning and snorkeling at Sakura Beach in the afternoon!
The instructors for each activity were different, but both were friendly and cheerful, and I had a great time. They also sent photos and videos via LINE, which made for wonderful memories!
Additionally, the lunch spot they recommended was very delicious! I'm grateful for the suggestion!
During the tour, the water temperature was cold, and the wind was strong, so unfortunately, the feeling of "it's cold..." overshadowed the excitement.
Sakura Beach had high visibility, but it seems we hardly encountered any sea turtles, and there were fewer fish. While this can't be helped, I think it would be a good idea to switch to other activities during rough weather! However, I appreciated that the instructors were kind and considerate of our well-being despite the cold.
I've heard that the recommended time to visit Ishigaki Island is in May, so I would like to try again when it gets warmer next time!

2月上旬、石垣島もダウンジャケットが必要なくらい冷え込む寒波の中、こちらでsup&シュノーケルを予約しました。
前日にお電話いただき、大シケのため川平湾でのsupはマングローブsupに変更、青の洞窟・幻の島上陸はNGとなり、さくらビーチでのシュノーケルに変更になるが問題ないかと確認いただきました。(その分、お値段も後日変更になるようです)
そのため、午前はマングローブsup・午後はさくらビーチでのシュノーケルをお願いしました！
それぞれインストラクターさんは異なりますが、どちらの方もフレンドリーで明るく、楽しい時間を過ごさせてもらいました。
LINEで写真・動画も送ってくださり、いい思い出になりました！
また、おすすめしてもらったランチのお店も、とっても美味しかったです！教えてくださって感謝です！
ツアー中は水温も冷たく、風も強かったので感動よりも「寒い…」が勝ってしまったのが残念です。。泣
さくらビーチは透明度は高かったですが、ウミガメはほぼ会えないようで、お魚も少なめでした。。
こればかりは仕方ないですが、シケの時はシュノーケル以外のアクティビティに変更するのもアリだと思います！
ただ、インストラクターさんも寒い中、優しく体調を気遣ってくださったので有難かったです。
石垣島のおすすめの時期は5月らしいので、次回は暖かくなったら、またリトライしたいと思います！！

Unfortunately, the blue cave snorkeling was canceled due to the weather, and we had to change to a snorkeling plan in Osaki, but both the morning mangrove canoeing & SUP and the afternoon snorkeling were fantastic and thoroughly enjoyable! The instructor was kind and easy to talk to, which was very helpful! I was healed by the nature of Okinawa, and it turned out to be a fulfilling day!
青の洞窟シュノーケリングは残念ながら天候により中止になってしまい大崎でのシュノーケリングのプランに変更となってしまいましたが、午前中のマングローブカヌー＆SUP、そして午後のシュノーケリング両方とも大満喫できて最高でした！！インストラクターの方も親切で話しやすくて助かりました！

This time, I went on a 2-night, 3-day trip to Ishigaki Island for the first time. On the second day, I signed up for the "Free for the Second Person! Limited Number Monitor / [1 Day] Kayaking or Canoeing at Kabira Bay + Snorkeling at the Blue Cave." The activity provider was "Ishigaki Island ADVENTURE PiPi." The weather was "clear," and my expectations were high.
However, on the day of the activity, the sea conditions were not as planned due to strong north winds, and we had to switch to an alternative plan. The alternative plan was "SUP at Miyara River + Snorkeling at Osaki Bay." I was a bit confused, but I couldn't go against the weather.
On the morning of the activity, I was picked up at my accommodation, "Grandvrio Resort Ishigaki Island." The bright and friendly smile of the instructor eased my slight anxiety, and my expectations grew even more.
In the shuttle, there were detailed explanations and fun quizzes, creating a cheerful atmosphere throughout the ride. The very friendly instructor made the experience even more enjoyable.

Before I knew it, we arrived at Osaki Bay, and my first real snorkeling experience began. I put on a wetsuit and we set off into the sea.

Underwater, it was a clear world unlike anything I had experienced before. I could see all the way to the bottom.

天気はというと「晴れ」。期待は膨らみます。
しかし、当日の海の様子は、北風が強く、申し込みプランの通りとはいかず、振替プランとなりました。
振替プランは、「宮良川マングローブSUP＋大崎湾シュノーケリング」。
少し戸惑いましたが、天候には逆らえません。
当日の朝、宿泊先の「グランヴィリオリゾート石垣島」までお迎えに来ていただきました。
インストラクターの方の明るく気さくな笑顔、少し不安な気持ちが一気に解消、ますます期待は膨らみます。
送迎車の中では、詳しいご説明と楽しいクイズ、車内は常に和気あいあいな雰囲気。

I participated with my first-grade child. The instructor was very friendly, cheerful, and kind, and my child quickly warmed up to them.
My child, who has four years of swimming experience, was worried because it was their first time snorkeling and going to a place in the ocean where they couldn't touch the bottom. However, the instructor kept a close eye on them, and at times, they held my child to help them breathe through their nose and take breaks. With the presence of a float, my child felt secure. I participated in the mangrove canoe tour and the Blue Cave snorkeling tour.
Although the weather was not great in winter, the staff shared the unique benefits of this season, allowing us to enjoy the experience.

Due to the waves, we couldn't go to the Blue Cave, so we were taken to Ohsaki Beach. During the car ride, the guide shared recommendations for shops and chatted with us, making the journey feel quick. After putting on our wetsuits, we entered the sea. Due to the weather, the tour to Balas Island was canceled, so my daughter and I participated in the mangrove canoe and Yufu Island tour.
In the mangrove canoe, we were overwhelmed by the great nature of Iriomote. There was a lecture at the beginning of the canoeing, and I was able to grasp the technique after paddling a bit. Thank you to Matt-chan for taking so many wonderful photos.
On the bus, we heard a lot about Iriomote Island and learned that its current state is due to the efforts of the local people to protect the great nature.

マングローブカヌーでは西表の大自然に圧倒されます。カヌーは最初にレクチャーがあり、少し漕いでいるうちにコツを掴むことができました。担当してくれたまっちゃん、たくさんステキな写真を撮ってくださってありがとうございました。
バスの中でも西表島についてのお話がたくさん聞けて、大自然を守る地元の人々の努力で今の姿があることを知ることができました。
水牛車で渡る由布島もとても楽しかった！
お腹が空いた若い牛さんが乗車している私たちを降ろす間もなくごはんがある対岸に戻ろうとした時のこちらを伺う表情がとても可愛いかった〜
蝶々園に入ると、出迎えてくれるように蝶々がやってきてくれます。
おすすめの由布島茶屋さんで食べたバタフライピーと沖縄の塩を使ったジェラートは今まで食べた中で1番の美味しさかもしれません。
今度は家族みんなで訪れたいです。
その際はまたpipiさんにお世話になります。

I had never been into the mountains of Yanbaru, and I wanted to have an adventurous experience with my family, so I chose this tour. My wife, who dislikes the cold, was extremely scared of getting soaked at first, but once she got into the water, she seemed to have made up her mind. At the deepest part of the waterfall, she forgot about the cold and was swimming and jumping in. Walking through the mountains of Yanbaru, climbing cliffs, I was able to enjoy an extraordinary sense of adventure more than I had expected. I participated on January 6, right in the middle of the off-season. As expected, the ferry to Uehara Port was canceled. It was my first time in Ishigaki Island and Iriomote Island, and I had so many questions, but they provided excellent guidance and support, and an exciting day began.
Although it was a time when flowers, fruits, birds, and animals were all scarce, the air and sky were beautiful, and it was so quiet that it felt like a private experience. I was able to participate with a relaxed mindset.
During the canoeing and trekking to the waterfall, the veteran guide taught us various things, and I enjoyed it throughout. The rice balls and fried chicken with warm miso soup at the waterfall were the best! The lunch varied by tour company, and I actually chose this tour for the rice balls.
My first cave exploration was breathtaking, with scenery from an entirely different dimension. I think I was able to enjoy it because of the sense of security provided by the guide.
Next, I want to go on the Sagari-bana tour!
シーズンオフ真っ只中の1月6日に参加しました。やはり上原港行きフェリーは欠航、時間は？天気は？初めての石垣島、西表島でわからないことだらけでの参加でしたが、しっかり案内と対応してくれて、ワクワクの1日が始まりました。時期としては、花や果物、鳥、動物など全てが少ない時期でしたが、空気や空がきれいで、空いているので貸切状態。ゆったりした気持ちで参加できました。
滝までのカヌーやトレッキングでは、ベテランガイドさんがいろんなことを教えてくれて、終始楽しめました。滝下でのおにぎり&唐揚げと温かい味噌汁が最高！ツアー会社によって、お昼ご飯が違っていて、実は私はおにぎり目当てでここのツアーにしました。
人生初の洞窟探検では、全く違う次元の景色に感動でした。ガイドさんの安心感があったから、楽しめたのだと思います。
次はサガリバナツアー行きたい！

The kayak trip to Pumpkin Hall was thrilling as we passed close to the rocks. I felt that the sea was very beautiful since we could see fish swimming in their natural habitat. Inside Pumpkin Hall, I was deeply moved by the mystical scenery. As we ascended, I had a memorable experience being able to see the stalactites up close. The staff also shared stories about the water in Miyako Island and the limestone caves, allowing us to learn more deeply. While watching the connected stalactites, I was surprised by how cold the spring water was when I poured it over my head. For those interested, during the final dive, it seems that if you jump in while making a wish, it will come true, which was a lot of fun. I truly felt that this experience was wonderful.

In mid-January 2025, I participated in a SUP and snorkeling tour.
First, we experienced SUP! For the first five minutes, we received a lecture on how to ride the SUP and safety precautions on land, and then we hit the water! At first, it was difficult, but I gradually got the hang of it and was able to paddle faster. The wind felt nice, and I was healed by the sea. It was also great that we took a lot of photos to create memories.
After that, we changed locations by car for snorkeling. Since it was January, I was worried it might be cold, but the water temperature was warm, and I was able to borrow a wetsuit, so I wasn't cold at all.
During snorkeling, I encountered many different types and colorful fish. The beauty of the sea was better than that of Ishigaki Island and Miyako Island. まずはSUPから体験！はじめの5分程は陸にてSUPの乗り方・注意点などをレクチャーしてもらい、その後着水！初めは難しかったですが、だんだんコツを掴んで早く漕げるようになり、風も気持ちよく海に癒されました。 写真も沢山撮って頂いて思い出に残せたのも良かったです。
その後車で場所を変え、シュノーケリング。時期が1月ということで、寒いかな…と心配しておりましたが、水温は高めなのとウエットスーツをお借りでき、寒くなかったです◎
シュノーケルでは沢山の種類・色とりどりの魚と出会うことができました。海の綺麗さは、本島よりも石垣島よりも宮古島ですね。透明度は抜群でガラスの中に入っているかのようでした。そして、まもなくするととウミガメが！！ウミガメの食事タイムや息継ぎの瞬間を見れ、とても可愛いかったです。

My first visit to Miyako Island. Although I had been to other remote islands, for some reason, I had never been to Miyako Island until now. Even though it was winter, I was looking for affordable activities and discovered the Pumpkin Cave caving experience. I signed up right away.
On the day of the experience, we were greeted with an unusually clear winter day. After about 20 minutes of kayaking from Borazen Beach, we arrived at the cave entrance. Entering through a small opening that only appears at low tide, we were met with a large stalagmite shaped like a pumpkin. It was breathtaking.
After that, we climbed the stalagmite and continued deeper into the cave. We were able to witness some truly mystical sights. For those who wanted to, we ended by jumping into the sea from the Pumpkin stalagmite. The guide was very kind and explained everything in detail, allowing us to participate with peace of mind.
It became the best memory.

その後、その鍾乳石を登り、もっと奥に向かって鍾乳洞体験。神秘的な光景を目にすることができました。希望者だけですが、最後はパンプキン鍾乳石から海へ飛び込みました。ガイドの方も、とても優しく丁寧に説明していただき、安心して参加することができました。
最高の思い出となりました。

We used the service as a couple with a middle school student. Since middle school students were free, I thought we could all ride in the same canoe, but it seems that the canoe accommodates a maximum of two people. You can ride alone, but it requires twice the paddling effort, which can be quite tiring. I had the instructor accompany me.
We set off in a group of three canoes with the instructor. We explored an area densely populated with mangroves while it was still light out, and as the sun began to set, we headed towards the sea. The instructor also took some photos for us.
I think we were on the canoe for about 90 minutes. It was a wonderful experience. Finally, the instructor recommended a delicious Okinawan restaurant, which was the icing on the cake!

It was a wonderful experience. I felt an excitement as if I had become the protagonist of an adventure novel. Our guide, Matsushita, explained things clearly about driftwood, living creatures, and the history of Yufu Island and Iriomote Island. He was incredibly knowledgeable about Iriomote Island and very cool, which left me in awe. The guide spoke with such enthusiasm that it made me feel joyful too, reminiscent of a certain adventurous professor from my university days who always brightened up the room. I felt a mix of nostalgia and a desire to catch up quickly. I am honored to have participated in such an amazing tour. Thank you very much.

On the way to the limestone cave by canoe, I was able to see Ryukyu coral limestone and the strange shapes of the cliffs. Inside the cave, I felt the greatness of nature with the sparkling stalactites and the flowing water! I was very satisfied!!
As for snorkeling, as soon as I entered the sea, there were so many fish swimming around like in an aquarium, which was incredibly moving! The experience starts at calm waters on the SUP. There's very little wind nor waves so it's perfect for beginners. After a 2 hr break for lunch, you meet back for snorkeling. I've been to a few snorkeling spots around Asia and this is easily number 1 with how clear and beautiful the water is and with just how many fish you get to see. We even saw a sea turtle eat off the ground! I was genuinely happy. After that, the pumpkin cave was also amazing. There's a bit difficult canoe out to the cave but it's very worth the trip. The history as well as amazing structures within the cave is astonishing. The guide Yuuri made this whole day all the better with great explanations and great personality that brightened an already bright Miyako day. Oh and he spoke great English.
