This was our family's first whale watching experience.

After about 40 minutes of rocking from the port, we headed out to sea on the boat.

We were able to see whales, but there were none jumping like in the pictures. We could only see their backs above the waves. Since it's nature, I think this is something we just have to accept.

I don't know much about their behavior, but it seems that whales don't gather in groups; other tour boats also seemed to be gathering around a single whale.

Since it was my first time and I wasn't very familiar with it, I had a strong image based on the pictures, so in that sense, I felt a bit disappointed.

I think most tours are probably similar. I didn't particularly feel that this organizer's tour was bad.

I believe the whole experience took about two and a half hours from gathering to dispersing, so I think it's best to participate with some time to spare.

港から揺られること40分くらい、船で沖まで進みます。

クジラを見ることはできましたが、画像のような飛び跳ねるクジラは皆無。
波の上に背中が見える程度でした。
自然のことですので、こればかりは仕方ない事だと思います。

生態は知りませんが、クジラは群れないのか、他のツアーの船も、
一頭のクジラに集まってくる感じ。

初めてで良く知らなかったので、やはり画像のようなイメージが強く、
そういう意味では残念だったなとは思います。

おそらくどこのツアーも同じ感じだと思います。
この主催者のツアーが悪いとかいうことは特に感じませんでした。

集合から解散まで２時間半くらい？かかったと思いますので、
時間に余裕を持った参加が良いと思います。

I chose this tour since I can't ride ships for a long time. the time we spent below watching the fish was not that long but it was enough to enjoy them and take pictures. the crew even tried to throw food to attract fish who gathered around the ship.
I highly recommend to combine it with the buffet, the lunch at Nest hotel was so delicious especially the dessert and fruits section.

I went on a company trip.
Since it was the off-season, I was looking for things to enjoy and made a discovery!

The boat sways quite a bit, so I recommend bringing motion sickness medication or purchasing it locally. Also, since the weather was drizzly, I bought a raincoat on-site (I rated it 4 stars due to the unfavorable weather). It’s better to bring one if rain is in the forecast.

I was satisfied to see whales up close, more than I expected! It was an exciting tour since you never know when they will suddenly appear, but it became a great memory.

The staff were all very kind. If you're planning to visit Okinawa during this season, I highly recommend giving it a try!

どこから急に現れるかがわからないので、ドキドキしたりあっという間のツアーでしたが、良い思い出になりました。

スタッフの方も皆さんとても親切でした。

しかし、スタッフは、自社の広告に使うためか、海上での滞在中ずっと写真撮影に夢中で、説明は殆どないし、肝心の1階と2階の入れ替えはないまま終了しました。
鯨が見えても、スタッフの態度や言葉に偽りありでは、今後信用されないと思います。

2月10日に参加しました。出港して30分くらいで2頭のペアのくじらが見つかりました。大きな尾びれは迫力がありました。もっと近くで見たいけど、こちらからは近づけない協定？があるとのことです。勝手に近づいてきたくじらでないと、動画サイトのような光景はないようです。見つけたくじらにゆっくりついていく感じです。ほかの船もどんどん集まってきて周りには7～8くらいの船がいました。船の大きさはサイトで見るとおりです。4人で参加しましたが口コミに酔い止めは必ず飲んでおくとよいとあったので全員で酔い止め飲んでおきました。みんな酔いませんでした。むしろ揺れを楽しんでいました。酔う人は波に対して横向きになったときの横揺れで参ってしまうのでしょうか。どこの観光地に行ってもお隣の国の方がたくさんいますが、このホエールウォッチングもまさにそれで、キャーキャーと賑やかな感じでした。逆にくじらが見つかると大騒ぎして教えてくれるので、便利だなぁと思いましたけど。笑
那覇空港から近いので到着午後の方は便利だと思います。

It was such a lucky day that it felt almost unreal. It started with the blowholes, and we were thrilled to see whales all the way to the real thing. The staff were incredibly kind, even bringing out a model of a whale to explain things to us. The shuttle service was included, and it was a great deal to have tickets to the Churaumi Aquarium as well. Definitely make sure to enjoy the good stops along the way.

This time, we participated from Chatan on New Year's Eve.

The staff were very patient in searching for us. However, the whales did not appear. The sea was rough, and there was quite a bit of swaying.

We participated as a couple, and since we were used to being on a boat for long hours, we were fine, but many families joined due to the year-end, and the children seemed to be struggling quite a bit. It was sad to see.

At some point, it felt less about the whales and more about wanting to go home quickly. However, it took quite a while to return from Chatan, and it took nearly two hours.

If you are prone to seasickness, it might be better to depart from Naha? I think it would be good to ask the tour operator by phone before deciding on the departure point.

I asked a local, and they said that the end of the year and New Year’s is still a bit early. They suggested that early February to mid-March is a better time, so definitely consider going then!

Since it was an afternoon trip, the backlight made filming even more difficult. The staff mentioned that it was the best of the year (though it's only January 4th today... haha). I only managed to capture video, so it would have been nice to be able to upload that.
