Canoeing was my first experience, but it was more stable than I expected, allowing me to enjoy it without any anxiety. On the way to the mangrove forest, we faced a strong wind while crossing a large river, which made it a bit challenging to progress, but the view we reached was breathtaking. As we moved through the mangrove tunnel, I was able to enjoy a special scenery that can only be seen from a canoe, making it a very satisfying tour.
I rented a car at Ohara Port and consulted in advance about participating in the afternoon and being able to return on the last ferry. They confirmed it was fine, so I joined the tour, but I decided on my own to skip the shower before heading back. It was quite thrilling in various ways, but I had a lot of fun!
カヌーは初めての体験でしたが、思ったより安定感があり不安なく楽しむことができました。
マングローブの林を目指す途中、大きな川を渡る場面では風が強くてなかなか進まず少し苦戦しましたが、辿り着いた景色は圧巻でした。マングローブのトンネルを進み、カヌーからでしか見ることのできない特別な景色を楽しむことができてとても満足できるツアーでした。
大原港でレンタカーを借り、午後から参加して最終のフェリーで帰れるか事前に相談、大丈夫ということで参加しましたが、自己判断でシャワーを浴びずに帰ることにしました。
いろいろスリル満点となりましたが、楽しかったです！

First visit to Miyako Island 初の宮古島

This was my first time in Miyako Island. We started with a canoe tour to the Pumpkin Cave. The meeting time was early, and the location was a bit hard to find, but it was great that the staff came out to assist us right away. The instructor was also a lot of fun. It took about ten minutes to walk from the parking lot to the canoe, and although the waves were a bit high and the weather wasn't great, we managed to paddle to the entrance. Inside, there was a large rock that looked like a pumpkin, where we took some photos and received explanations. After that, we climbed up the rock and ventured further inside. Despite various safety precautions, we were able to take our time to enjoy the sights and even splash around in the water. The highlight was diving from the top of the rock, which felt amazing. On the way back, the canoe ride felt quite fast due to the waves.
After some time, we headed to Higashi-Hennazaki and had lunch before going to the snorkeling spot. While snorkeling, we were able to see sea turtles right away and even spotted clownfish, taking lots of photos. The ocean was incredibly beautiful, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I was really happy to receive the photos later through social media, as these kinds of pictures are often sold at quite high prices.
初の宮古島でした。最初はパンプキン鍾乳洞までのカヌーツアー。集合時間も早く場所は少しわかりにくい箇所でした。係員の方がすぐに出てきてくれてよかったです。インストラクターも非常に楽しい方でした。駐車場から歩いて１０分でカヌーに乗り、若干波が高く天候もよくなかったですが、入り口まで漕げました。中に入るとパンプキンのような大きな岩があり説明と写真撮影、その後その岩を上って奥まで進みました。いろいろ注意事項があるもののゆっくり見ることができたり、水を浴びたりと楽しめました。最後は岩の上からのダイブ、気持ちよかったです。帰りのカヌーは波もあり結構早く着いた感じでした。
しばらく時間が空いたので東平安名崎まで行ったり昼ごはんを食べてシュノーケルの場所まで行きました。シュノーケルはウミガメがすぐに見ることができたり、ニモを見たりしながら写真を撮ってもらいました。海がとてもきれいで満喫できました。
撮ってもらった写真は後でSNSを通じてもらうことができてとてもうれしいです。（こういうのは結構高額な価格で販売されることが多かったので）
着替えのスペースがないので注意です。

It was a windy day, but I was guided on a special course that suited the conditions, and I had a great time. The guide also provided a thorough explanation about the mangroves, allowing me to truly experience the unique nature of Iriomote Island. I really wanted to go to the Blue Cave, but I decided to switch my mindset and enjoy my first snorkeling experience at the age of 50. My friend also had their first snorkeling experience at 50 and couldn't swim! However, they managed to participate until the end by holding onto a float. It was my first time too, but I was able to swim and see a lot of fish. We even encountered a sea turtle, and I had a great time creating wonderful memories. 青の洞窟には行きたかったですが、
せっかくなので、気持ちを切り替えて、50歳にして初のシュノーケリングを堪能してきました。
友達も50歳で初のシュノーケリングで泳げない！！でもフロートにつかまって最後まで参加出来ました。
私も初めてでしたが泳いでたくさんのお魚たちを見ることができました。

Since it was the off-season, we were the only group on the tour. Although we were worried about the weather, it started to clear up around the time the tour began. We had a great time with our guide, Eri, who taught us many things. We learned a lot about the plants, the island, and the animals, making it a very enjoyable experience! I participated in the Pumpkin Cave, sea kayaking, beach SUP, and sea turtle snorkeling.
During the SUP, the instructors patiently taught us beginners how to hold the paddle and tips on how to paddle, which helped us enjoy SUP even as first-timers.
In snorkeling, they smoothly guided us to points where we could see sea turtles, coral, and clownfish, and I was amazed to see countless creatures.
Unfortunately, due to sudden bad weather, we couldn't experience the Pumpkin Cave and sea kayaking, but I’m glad I joined the tour as the bright and kind staff took many wonderful photos for us. Thank you very much!

In early December, I participated in this tour for the first time during my fifth visit to Miyako Island. The weather was clear, and our guide was the dandy bearded man, Gen-chan. On the way to the coast, I listened with great interest to fascinating tidbits about the origin of the Pumpkin Cave and the plants blooming along the path.
We paddled canoes from the coast toward the entrance of the cave, which was also a fun time. The area around the entrance had a very solemn atmosphere, and all participants prayed together before heading into the cave!
This location is one of the three major power spots in Miyako Island. Inside, it was a very mystical space that was truly moving. Gen-chan provided detailed explanations about the cave, and as a Japanese person, I felt a strong sense of responsibility to protect this place.
I heard that it is set to be registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the near future. If that happens, it seems this tour will no longer be held. I highly recommend experiencing this before that happens!

天候は快晴、担当のダンディ髭男・ゲンちゃん。海岸までの道中はパンプキン鍾乳洞の由来や道に咲く植物の豆知識を興味深く聞きました。
海岸からカヌーを漕いで鍾乳洞の入口に向かいますがこれも楽しい時間でした。
入口周辺はとても厳かな雰囲気な場所で、参加者全員でお参りをしていざ鍾乳洞へ！
宮古島三大パワースポットの一つであるこの場所。中はとても神秘的な空間で感動的でした。
鍾乳洞のなかでもゲンちゃんより詳しい説明があり、日本人の一人としてこの場所をしっかりと守らなければという気持ちになりました。
近い将来、世界文化遺産に登録が決まっているとのこと。そうなるとこのツアーは開催されなくなるようです。
是非、その前にこの体験をしてみてください。

I thought it might be cold with a temperature of around 25°C, but when the sun was out, it felt warm, and while paddling on the SUP, it was actually quite hot! I was able to swim just fine while wearing a wetsuit for snorkeling! The guide was always attentive to our well-being, which made it easy to enjoy ourselves. 🤙 The sea and river weren't crowded at all, so we could move around freely and leisurely. I think coming here in winter could be a great option!
気温は25℃くらいで寒いかなと思いましたが、太陽が出ていると暖かく、SUPは漕いでいるとむしろ暑いくらいでした！シュノーケリングもウェットスーツを着用したら全然泳げました！

I participated in a tour to enjoy the Pumpkin Cave and kayaking in Miyako Island! It lasted about two hours, but it was a fulfilling experience where I could fully appreciate the beauty of nature. The time spent kayaking in the crystal-clear sea was pleasant, and I was overwhelmed by the coolness of the cave and the mystical scenery, truly enjoying the feeling of exploration. Our guide, Yuri, was bright and knowledgeable, making the experience very enjoyable. Additionally, he provided guidance in English for international visitors, which is reassuring for those from abroad. My first snorkeling, first sea kayaking, and first cave diving, along with my first stand-up paddleboarding. I was able to enjoy all of them. It was an intense experience and physically tiring, but it turned out to be a meaningful day.

It was a wonderful tour. We gathered at Uehara Port and after about 40 minutes, we arrived at the water buffalo riding area, and then we headed to Yufu Island. There were many water buffaloes. We had just under an hour of free time here, which was enough to explore. After that, we returned to Uehara Port for lunch. Our guide recommended a delicious restaurant. We went into a pork cutlet place and were very satisfied. (Meals are not included.) After that, we went on the main mangrove canoe tour. The guide taught us how to paddle, and we were off to challenge ourselves. Time flew by in no time. Even as a beginner, I was able to paddle easily. Your lower body will get wet before you start paddling, so a change of clothes is necessary. The guide takes photos with the mangroves, so there's no need to bring a smartphone or camera. The guides were all very nice people.
素晴らしいツアーでした。上原港集合で約40分で水牛乗り場へ。そしては由布島へ。水牛が沢山いました。ここで1時間弱の自由時間。十分回れました。そして再び上原港へ。そこでランチ。美味しいお店をガイドさんから紹介されました。豚カツのお店に入り、大満足。(食事は込みではありません。)その後メインのマングローブカヌーツアーへ。ガイドさんから漕ぎ方を教わり、いざチャレンジ。あっという間に時間が過ぎてしまいました。初心者の私でも簡単に漕ぐ事ができました。下半身は漕ぐ前から濡れますので、着替えは必要です。マングローブと一緒にガイドさんが写真を撮ってくれるので、スマートフォンや、カメラ持ち込み不要です。ガイドさんは皆さんとっても良い人達でした。

As we paddled through the mangrove forest in the canoe, I was able to experience the dynamism of nature and the diversity of living creatures. From 9:00 to 11:00, I experienced canoeing on the Pumpkin Tour in Miyako Island. As we slowly glided through the emerald-colored sea, entering the cave felt like stepping into another world. The gentle rocking of the canoe and the scent of the tide were delightful, allowing me to fully feel the grandeur of nature. It was an exhilarating and mystical first-time experience. Ryoma-san was an excellent guide!
At 11:00, we dispersed for lunch break. Since we had some time, we went for lunch and drove to Higashi-Hennazaki. We had the leisure to stroll along Ingyabīchi Beach and visit a café. I was able to relax more than I expected, and since I had used up energy canoeing, it was great to recover.
From 14:00 to 15:30, I had a stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) experience at Ingyabīchi Beach. There were no people around due to the season, so I had the beach all to myself! I enjoyed a relaxing time with the instructor, Mayu-chan! It cleared up and got warm halfway through, which was truly wonderful.
From 16:00 to 17:30, we moved to Shigira Beach for snorkeling! The underwater scenery was beautiful, and I saw coral reefs and clownfish. They took me to places I couldn't reach on my own. Although there were waves and I couldn't swim, they let me hold onto a float and I only had to paddle with my feet, which was really helpful. Thank you, Gen-chan!
I love Okinawa and have participated in tours many times, but every guide from Pipi-san has been kind and friendly! I was able to enjoy at my own pace. I am truly grateful. They took many beautiful photos, and each one is a treasure!
When I come to Miyako Island again, I will definitely book a tour with Pipi-san!

11:00〜解散し各自お昼休憩。時間があったのでランチと東平安名崎ドライブに行きました。余裕がありインギャービーチの散歩とカフェもできました。思ったよりゆっくりでき、カヌーで体力使っていたので回復できてよかった。
14:00-15:30インギャービーチでsup体験。時期的に人がいなくビーチを独り占め！のんびりできインストラクターのまゆちゃんと楽しみました！途中で晴れてきてあったかくて本当に最高。
16:00-17:30シギラビーチに移動しシュノーケリング！海の中は綺麗で珊瑚礁やニモも見れました。自分では行けない遠くまで連れて行ってくれました。波があり泳げなかったのですが浮き輪に捕まらせてくれて足で漕ぐだけで大丈夫でした、本当に助かりました。げんちゃんありがとうございます！
沖縄好きでなんどもツアー体験していますが、ピピさんはどのガイドさんも優しくて親切！！自分たちのペースで楽しむことができました。本当に感謝しています。写真もたくさん撮ってくれて、どれも綺麗で宝物です！
宮古島に来たらまた必ずピピさんでツアー予約させていただきたいです！

I had a fulfilling tour where I could fully experience the nature of Miyako Island in just one day. I was particularly impressed by the mystical scenery in the Pumpkin Cave. Inside the cave, it was cool, and I could enjoy the unique atmosphere of exploration. I heard that once it is registered as a cultural heritage site, we won't be able to enter anymore, so now is the chance.
The kayak ride to the cave was amazing as we glided through the crystal-clear sea, feeling the sea breeze and becoming one with nature. The sea turtle snorkeling was exhilarating as I actually got to encounter sea turtles!

I had an amazing day with the all-inclusive plan of SUP → snorkeling → canoeing → Pumpkin Cave! First of all, if you're visiting Miyako Island, I highly recommend this plan because you can do everything!
Unfortunately, it rained heavily from the morning on the day of the activity. I was nervous about trying SUP for the first time, but we went ahead despite the bad weather! After listening to the instructions, it was time to get started. At first, it was difficult to balance, and getting up was quite a struggle. However, thanks to the guide's advice, I quickly got the hang of it. After paddling for about 40 minutes, we finally dove into the sea! Even at the end of October, the water was warm, and I actually recommend diving in! (laughs)
After a short move, we went snorkeling next. If you're not a good swimmer, don't worry! You can still have a great time holding onto the buoy that the guide pulls along! The underwater world was filled with corals, clownfish (Nemo), and a variety of colorful fish. And the highlight of this plan was the sea turtles! There was a chance we might not see them, so I was excited while swimming, and then, there it was—a sea turtle in the shallow water! I finally got to meet my long-awaited sea turtle, and the guide even took pictures with a GoPro, which made for a happy moment!
After a lunch break, we finished the all-inclusive plan by paddling the canoe together, and we arrived at Pumpkin Cave. From the entrance to every corner, it was mystical. Climbing up the pumpkin-shaped rock and going deeper into the cave revealed a sacred space, and I felt purified both physically and mentally by the cave's water! Finally, we dove from the cave into the sea. It was a fun-filled day until the very end!
朝からSUP→シュノーケリング→カヌー→パンプキン鍾乳洞の1日全部乗せプランを大満喫しました！初めに言うと、せっかく宮古島に来たなら絶対全部できるこのプランがオススメです！！
当日は朝から生憎の大雨、、初めてのSUPで緊張＋悪天候の中、雨天決行！初めに説明を聞いて、あっという間にいざ本番。
最初はバランスをとるのが難しく立ち上がるのにも一苦労。それでもガイドの方のアドバイスのおかげですぐに乗りこなせるように。40分ほど漕いで最後には海へダイブ！10月末でも海は暖かく、むしろダイブした方がおすすめです！笑
少し移動してお次はシュノーケリング。
シュノーケリングは泳げなくて不安な人でも大丈夫！ガイドの方が引っ張る浮きに捕まりながらでも十分楽しめました！
海の中はサンゴ、ニモ(カクレクマノミ)や色鮮やかな様々な魚が溢れかえっていました。そして、今回のプランの目玉であるウミガメ！！見えないこともあるということで、見えるかどうかワクワクしながら泳いでいると、浅瀬にウミガメが！！念願のウミガメに会え、ガイドさんがGoProで撮影もしてくださり、幸せな時間でした！
昼ご飯休憩を挟み、全部乗せの最後は、協力プレイでカヌーを漕ぎ、行き着いた先はパンプキン鍾乳洞。
入口から隅々までどこをとっても神秘的。
パンプキンを登り鍾乳洞の奥へ行くと神聖な空間が拡がっており、鍾乳洞の水を浴びて心身ともに浄化されました！
そして、ここでも最後は鍾乳洞から海へダイブ。最後まで大満喫で楽しかったです！！

I participated in the Pumpkin Cave & Sea Kayaking and Sea Turtle Snorkeling!
In the morning, we gathered at the parking lot, put on our life jackets and shoes, and headed to the beach! The sea kayaking was a relaxing experience as we paddled slowly over the crystal-clear water. The Pumpkin Cave was simply breathtaking! I could feel the sacred atmosphere. Hiro, who spoke in Kansai dialect, guided us while ensuring our safety and sharing various stories about the cave's history, which made it easy to enjoy the experience.
After about a two-hour lunch break, we went snorkeling in the afternoon. Even though it was early November, it was cold once we got out of the water, so wearing the rental wetsuits was definitely the right choice. I was worried about the sea conditions after the typhoon, but once we got in, there were way more fish than I had imagined! Swimming alongside the sea turtles created such wonderful memories! Mayu was super cute!
We took a lot of beautiful photos that will be cherished as memories, and it was a completely satisfying day! I highly recommend this to anyone going to Miyako Island!!!!!!

シーカヤックは透き通る海の上をゆっくり漕ぎ、気持ちのいい時間でした
パンプキン鍾乳洞は、感動の一言！
神聖な空気を感じられました
関西弁のひろさんが、安全に配慮しつつ、鍾乳洞の歴史や色々な話をしながら案内してくださり、安心して楽しむことができました。
2時間ほどお昼休憩で、午後からはシュノーケリングへ
11月前半でしたが、海から出たら寒かったので、貸し出しのウェットスーツ着用して正解でした。
台風後で海の状態が不安でしたが、いざ海に入ると想像していた何倍も魚がいっぱい！！
ウミガメとも一緒に泳げてとってもいい思い出になりました！
まゆさんとっても可愛いかったです！
思い出に残る素敵な写真を沢山撮ってくださり、大満足の1日でした！
宮古島へ行く方、本当におすすめです！！！！

I was worried about whether the tour would proceed due to the approaching typhoon, but they contacted me the day before to explain the conditions under which it would be canceled and provided important information, which made me feel at ease to participate.
The guide was very attentive and made sure that even beginners like us could enjoy the experience safely. It was impressive how they continuously encouraged us to ensure our safety throughout the tour.
As we paddled along the calm waters, I felt the grandeur of the natural beauty of Iriomote Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site, up close, and I was moved by the breathtaking scenery multiple times.
When we returned from canoeing, there was a large rainbow in the sky, and its beauty filled my heart. Thanks to the power of nature and the warm guidance of our guide, it became a wonderful experience that will stay in my memory.
If I have the opportunity to visit Iriomote Island again, I would love to participate once more.
台風が上陸しようとしていたため催行されるか心配でしたが、前日から「どういうときに中止になるか」や注意事項等、電話にて連絡してくださり、安心して参加できました。
ガイドさんがとても丁寧で、初心者の私たちでも安心して楽しめるように盛り上げてくれたこと、安全に進められるよう終始声をかけてくれたことが印象的でした。
静かな水面を進みながら、世界遺産である西表島の壮大な自然を間近に感じられ、息をのむような景色に何度も感動しました。
カヌーを漕いで戻ってきた頃、空に大きな虹がかかっていて、その美しさに胸がいっぱいになりました。
自然の力と温かいガイドさんのおかげで、心に残る素晴らしい時間になりました。
また西表島に来訪する機会があったら、もう一度参加したいです。
