The mangrove tour experience was truly wonderful! As we leisurely paddled down the river in a canoe, I was moved by the beauty of the mangrove forest that unfolded before us. Paddling was a bit challenging, but it also brought a sense of accomplishment. I participated with my children (who are now adults). The tour to Piñal Sara Falls was what I was looking forward to the most on this trip. I was worried whether it would be held since it had been raining for several days, but even though the weather wasn't great, we were able to go. When we got to the base of the waterfall, the rain and the spray from the falls were intense, but we were able to take pictures on the big rock that I had seen on Instagram. The guide was also very kind. It was a wonderful experience, and I definitely want to participate again on a nice day.

On October 24, the weather forecast indicated a temperature of 28°C, rain, 1 millimeter of rainfall, and a wind speed of 6 meters. It is said that the perceived temperature drops by 1°C for every meter per second of wind, but it was still warm enough to wear short sleeves.
This time, I participated in a half-day afternoon tour from Ishigaki Island, but the ferry to Uehara Port was canceled. The final travel method was to go from Ishigaki Island to Ohara Port, then take a bus to Uehara Port, and finally join the tour. Although I had some anxiety about the situation, the detailed prior communication made the transition smooth!
I felt reassured after receiving explanations about the arrangements.
As for the tour itself, we went on a canoe tour as a family of four. I had some concerns with my 4-year-old and 6-year-old, but they had no problems and enjoyed themselves immensely. The kids were thrilled with this new experience! Their smiles and laughter were nonstop. We explored the mysterious world of mangroves and the creatures that inhabit them. It was a healing time for both adults and children as we connected with nature. Our guide, Jun Sato, was always kind and encouraging, allowing us to enjoy the experience with peace of mind.
After the tour, we took a shower and felt refreshed. We were then transported back to the meeting point, concluding the day. We were even waved off until the bus departed, which made for a very satisfying half-day. The kids were so excited that they couldn't wait to go again on the way home.
10月24日、天気予報は気温28℃、天候は雨、雨量1ミリ、風速6メートル。風速1メートルあたり体感温度で１℃下がると言われていますが、全然半袖で行ける程度でした。
今回は石垣島からの日帰り半日、午後ツアー参加でしたが、目的地である上原港便が欠航でした。最終的な移動方法は、石垣島→大原港到着後、バスにて上原港へ移動、その後ツアー参加。と言った流れでしたが、事前の連絡で事細かに説明いただき、実は不安がありましたが、すんなり移動完了！
その辺りの説明も頂けて安心して参加することができました。
本題のツアーなのですが、家族4人でのカヌーツアー。4歳と6歳とで実は不安もありましたが、全く問題なく楽しむ事が出来ました。子供達も初めての経験に大興奮！笑顔とはしゃぐ声が絶えませんでした。マングローブの神秘的な世界と、そこに住む生き物達。大自然と触れ合った大人も子供も癒された時間でした。ガイドの佐藤潤さんもいつも優しく声を掛けてくれて、安心して楽しむ事が出来ました。
ツアー終了後はシャワーも浴びて、さっぱり。集合場所まで送迎して頂き終了。
最後はバスが出るまで手を振ってのお見送りまでしてもらえて大満足の半日でした。
子供もまた行きたいと大はしゃぎで帰路に着く事が出来ました。

As I paddled the canoe and felt the wind, the fatigue of everyday life seemed to fade away.
The sounds of birds echoing in the mangrove forest and the light reflecting on the water's surface were truly beautiful, providing an incredible soothing effect. I thought half a day might not be enough, but surprisingly, canoeing turned out to be quite challenging, and I was completely satisfied even with just half a day!

I was overwhelmed by the large mangroves! The explanations from our instructor, Seichan, were really interesting. Learning about the plants and creatures that live in the brackish water was incredibly educational. Kayaking through the great outdoors while thinking about how these species have adapted over many years was an invaluable experience. Also, I was excited to hear that the Adan is modeled after a certain famous manga, as I'm a big fan of the original work. If the great treasure is found, it might become a popular spot, so I want to go again before that happens! (laughs)

We participated as a family (parents and two sons, a high schooler and a middle schooler) on a Sunday at the end of September. The temperature was 33°C, and since we were navigating through a jungle path, I thought my mother might have to retire, but she managed to keep going with appropriate breaks. We enjoyed both the top of the waterfall and the basin, and the schedule allowed us to have a great time.
The Yaeyama soba at the top of the waterfall and the bread and warm tea we had at the basin were fantastic.
Along the way, yielding the path to others and exchanging casual greetings with fellow hikers created wonderful memories.
The photos taken during the trip were sent to us right away, and while I won't share them here, each photo captures such great smiles, reflecting the enjoyment of this activity.
9月末の日曜日に家族（父母、高校生と中学生の息子）で参加しました。
気温は33℃、ジャングルの道なき道を進むので、母がリタイアするかと思いましたが、様子を見て適宜休憩をしてくれながら進み、また、滝上も滝壺もしっかり楽しんでも予定通りの時間だったので、充分楽しめる行程だと思います。
滝上での八重山そば、滝壺でいただいたパンと温かい紅茶もサイコーです。
道中、道をゆずったり
すれ違う方との何気ない挨拶もとても良い思い出。
沢山撮影してくださった写真もすぐ送ってくださり、ここでは掲載控えますが、どの写真もとても良い笑顔なのが、このアクティビティの良さをあらわしているなぁと思います。

Since we weren't sure about the weather, we made a reservation the night before, but on the day of the tour, everything was handled efficiently. The instructor was a lovely person with a sun-kissed tan and a great smile. They were knowledgeable about the mangroves of Iriomote Island, sharing interesting facts like encountering crabs and how the mangrove leaves tasted salty. Although we had limited time for canoeing, it was a fun tour! Thank you very much!!

Barasu Island had challenging sea conditions, so we went canoeing in the morning and toured Yufu Island in the afternoon. The attention to detail from our female guide made us feel at ease and able to participate comfortably. Not only were the experience photos and videos great, but the guide also had a good eye for capturing scenic photos. Personally, I was impressed by how she shared knowledge about Iriomote throughout the travel time to the water buffalo riding area. We were able to enjoy the travel time as part of the tour! I'm glad I was with Matsuko's team!

We were pulled by a water buffalo to Yubu Island, and I was impressed by how strong the buffalo was, pulling a group of over ten adults steadily to our destination. It was fascinating to see the buffalo stop and move when prompted, giving a glimpse into the lively nature of the animals. Additionally, during the canoe experience, I was able to see mangroves. On the tour in Iriomote Island, I was able to fully experience the great outdoors. First, on the water buffalo cart to Yubu Island, I enjoyed the beautiful sea and island scenery while feeling the sea breeze in sync with the leisurely pace of the water buffalo. The guide shared the names and personalities of the water buffalo, creating a very relaxed atmosphere. In the afternoon, we explored the mangrove forest by canoe. As we glided over the calm water, I felt as if I was the only one in a world enveloped in greenery. The sounds of birds and the wind were soothing, making it a precious experience that allowed me to forget my daily life. It was the best tour where I could enjoy the grandeur and healing of nature at the same time.

I went on a canoe tour this time. It was my first time in a canoe, and since we were riding together, I was a bit anxious about whether we could manage it, but our guide, Uk-kun, taught us patiently, and we got used to it quickly!
Spending time surrounded by nature while looking at the mangroves was very pleasant. The course we paddled through was comfortable, and I really enjoyed the canoeing itself!
Next time I come to Iriomote Island, I want to go canoeing again, but there are so many interesting tours for SUP and trekking that it's a tough decision!

It's totally fine for beginners. There were families with children, so I think people of all ages can enjoy it! Also, since it's hot, it's a good idea to bring plenty of water.

I would like to express my gratitude to the staff and the owner for their great support. My family participated in the tour, but we struggled with the canoeing. However, the female staff member kindly supported us and took great photos from good positions. I really appreciated her consideration.
Additionally, the owner shared various stories about Iriomote Island during our car ride, for which I am thankful. When my smartphone ran out of battery and I couldn't present my ticket for the ferry to Ishigaki Island, the owner kindly followed up and checked on us.

The meeting place was in front of the vending machine at Uehara Port, and I confirmed this by phone the day before, which made it easy to find on the day of the tour. I was accompanied by Yume-san, who was friendly and very cute!
Unfortunately, we couldn't land on Barasu Island due to the sea conditions, but I hope to have a chance to try again someday. The snorkeling was incredibly beautiful! I heard that after a typhoon, the visibility is even clearer, and I was lucky to experience that!
The waves were higher than usual, making it a bit challenging to swim, but Yume-san was keeping a close eye on us, which made me feel safe while swimming. It was fun to touch a large sea cucumber and see a sea snake!
After a lunch break, we went for a mangrove canoeing experience. Yume-san taught us various interesting facts, which was educational! The canoe was for two people. I was worried about whether I could paddle properly, but surprisingly, I picked it up quickly!
The scenery was fantastically beautiful, and I encountered a hermit crab of a size I had never seen before. Overall, it was a lot of fun. At the end, there was a place to take a shower as well. I had the best experience on this tour with Yume-san. Her photography skills were also outstanding, which was impressive! Thank you very much!

It's obvious, but often overlooked... In snorkeling, the back side can get burned, so I recommend applying sunscreen thoroughly on that side as well!

Due to the cancellation at Uehara Port, I entered Iriomote Island from Ohara Port, and they explained the transportation methods over the phone in advance. Kayaking while explaining about the plants and creatures, as well as trekking through the jungle, was enjoyable.
After the tour, there was a place to change and take a shower. I was also happy that they took several photos during the tour and sent them to me right away. On the way back, instead of being dropped off at the hotel, I was taken to Hoshizuna Beach, which I was able to enjoy as well.
The guide was very kind and interacted well with my children, making my 7 and 9-year-olds feel safe and have fun. When I mentioned that our plans for the next day were canceled due to the approaching typhoon, they recommended ways to spend our time. The wild boar yukhoe I had at the restaurant they suggested for the next evening was very delicious!
Thanks to them, it was a very enjoyable trip. If I have the opportunity to come back to Iriomote Island, I would like to ask for their services again. Thank you!

It was my first experience riding a canoe, and I was nervous, but the guide (Team Kawai) provided excellent guidance, and I quickly got used to the canoe. It was my first time doing SUP, but with the kind guidance of the instructor, I was able to paddle out with confidence. The water surrounded by mangrove forests was very calm, and the time spent slowly moving while listening to the sounds of birds and the wind was an exceptional healing experience. It was a tour that even beginners could enjoy without difficulty, allowing me to refresh my mind in nature.

The weather was great, and I thoroughly enjoyed canoeing and trekking. While canoeing through the mangroves of Iriomote Island, I was able to enjoy the experience while listening to the guide's detailed explanations. The trekking was quite steep, with rocks and tree roots making it slippery, but with the guide's help, I was able to safely make it to the waterfall. The waterfall was also magnificent. During both the canoeing and trekking, we spotted some rare creatures, and the explanations made the experience enjoyable from start to finish. I believe the guide was very reliable. Thank you very much.
天気も良く、カヌーとトレッキングを堪能できました。カヌーでは西表島のマングローブの中をゆっくりカヌーで行くのですが、ガイドさんの丁寧な説明を聞きながら堪能できました。トレッキングはかなり急で、岩や木の根などがあり滑りやすいのですが、ガイドさんについて安全に上がって行き滝に到着する事ができました。滝も素晴らしかったです。カヌー、トレッキング中も珍しい生き物を見つけて説明していただき終始楽しく参加できました。ガイドさんが大変信頼できる方だと思います。ありがとうございました。

It's not a problem if you've never been canoeing before. The guide mentioned that towards the end, their arms get tired and feel swollen, but I personally didn't feel that way. You can see the mangrove forest up close and even touch it.

I was very healed by the great nature of Iriomote Island, with its sea, mountains, mangrove forests, and the tidal flats that appeared. It had been a while since I went kayaking, but the pre-ride briefing was easy to understand. The guide kindly took my friends' children along with him and shared information about the island beyond the tour. I really appreciated all the kindness. The waterfall looked so beautiful while floating in the basin that it felt unreal. I could see four sea turtles, and the corals were amazing, with the water clarity being top-notch.
The staff were also very attentive and made the experience wonderful.
滝は滝壺に浮かびながら見ると現実とは思えないほど良く、海は海亀も４匹見られたり、サンゴもすごく、透明度も最高でした。

I had experienced the sunset before, so this time I chose the sunrise canoe. They picked me up at the hotel, and during the 20-minute drive to the port, I encountered what seemed to be wild boars and Ryukyu scops owls, and on the way back, I saw a white-browed crake.
When we arrived at the port in the still dim light, there were many clouds and thunder could be heard in the distance, but by the time we received the briefing and set off, the clouds began to turn red, and gradually the morning glow became visible.
Along the way, a sea turtle surfaced for air and quickly dove back down, and I also saw black and white clownfish. Most importantly, the guide shared various stories, making it a very satisfying tour.
サンセットは以前に体験したので、今回はサンライズカヌーを選びました。ホテルまで迎えに来ていただき、港までの20分のドライブ中にイノシシやリュウキュウコノハズクらしき鳥と、帰りはシロハラクイナと遭遇しました。
まだ薄暗い中港に到着した時は雲が多く遠くで雷もなっていましたが、説明を聞いて出港する頃には雲が赤く染まりだし、だんだんと朝焼けが見えてきました。
途中で海亀が息継ぎで上昇してきて慌てて潜っていったり、白黒のクマノミもいたり、何よりガイドさんが色々な話をしてくださり大満足のツアーでした。
