On the final day of my solo trip to Ishigaki Island, I took a sightseeing bus tour around the island. It's convenient because you can get off at the airport for your return journey.

At Kabira Bay, you can choose between a glass-bottom boat (optional 1,000 yen) or visiting the observation deck, and I opted for the glass-bottom boat. I was a bit worried because the sea was a little rough, but I was able to see many fish. The boat captain was a pro, and I was lucky enough to see a sea turtle as well. It's a shame I couldn't take any photos.

The lunch at the restaurant was pre-prepared, so it was a bit cold, but it was delicious. I was also satisfied to hear the bus guide's singing.

I was brought to Ishigaki by my son and his wife just before turning 60. Our original plans had to change due to a typhoon, but I really wanted to do the mangrove kayaking, so I made a last-minute reservation the day before. Despite the unfortunate weather, I had a very enjoyable time. We were probably the oldest couple among the participants that day, but we didn't have any issues; in fact, there was even a mishap that left us wetter than anyone else, which became a great memory. I'm glad we were able to take a lot of photos. Since we couldn't go snorkeling and finished early, we went to the restaurant recommended by our instructor for both lunch and dinner. The food there was also very delicious, and we had a fulfilling day in Ishigaki, despite the approaching typhoon. Thank you very much.

元々の予定は台風により変更せざるを得ませんでしたが、マングローブカヤックはどうしてもやりたかったので、前日に急遽こちらを予約しました。

シュノーケルができず早く終わったので、インストラクターさんにおすすめしていただいたご飯屋さんに昼も夜も食べにいきました。そちらもとても美味しく、台風が近づいているとは思えないほど充実した石垣での1日を過ごせました。

A typhoon was approaching, so I had to change my original plans and made a last-minute reservation here the day before. Due to the typhoon, we could only do kayaking instead of snorkeling and SUP, but I was just happy to be able to do at least one activity!

It was my first time kayaking, but the guidance was thorough, so I didn't have any trouble. The explanations about the mangroves (types of mangroves, their characteristics, and the differences in root shapes) were very interesting. We also talked throughout the tour about recommended sightseeing spots in Ishigaki and good places to eat, which made it a lot of fun.

Even though we were on the tour in the rain, it didn't bother me since we were already wet. The mangrove forest felt even more like a hidden gem, and it was a rare experience to be out in the rain as an adult.

If I come to Ishigaki again, I think I will request activities! Thank you for the enjoyable time!

台風のため、シュノーケルとSUPはできずカヤックだけとなりましたが、１つでもできただけ嬉しかったです！
初めてのカヤックでしたが、丁寧に案内していただいたので困ることもなく、マングローブについての説明(ヒルギの種類、特徴、根っこの形の違いなど)は非常に興味深く、他にも石垣観光のおすすめスポット、おすすめのご飯屋さんなどについて、終始お話ししながらのツアーでとても楽しめました。
雨に打たれながらのツアーでしたが、そもそも濡れているのでそれも気にならず、マングローブの森は秘境感が増して楽しかったですし、大人になってから雨に打たれることもなかなかないので貴重な経験でした。
また石垣にきたらアクティビティお願いすると思います！

On the day of the activity, I participated in kayaking in the mangroves. They taught us how to paddle carefully, and even as a beginner, I was able to enjoy it. Due to the weather, it was quite windy, and we switched to stand-up paddleboarding in the mangroves and snorkeling in Nago Bay, but we had a great time taking lots of photos.

That day, for safety reasons, it seemed that other tour companies were also gathering at the same location, so both experiences had quite a few people, but I think if the weather is stable, it would be a bit more relaxed.

They also provided pick-up right in front of the hotel, and since it was fine for the bus to be wet, I didn't need to change, which was great because I had very little luggage.

They dropped us off at the terminal for lunch, so I had no trouble choosing a place to eat, and the staff also recommended some restaurants on the bus.

In addition to the items listed, I recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and a waterproof case for your smartphone so you can take photos while paddleboarding.

気候の関係で風が強く、マングローブでのサップと名護湾でのシュノーケリングに変更になりましたが、たくさん写真も撮っていただいて楽しく過ごせました。
その日はおそらく安全のために他のツアー会社も軒並み同じ場所に集まっていたので、どちらの体験でもかなり人が多かったですが、安定した気候の日ならもう少し落ち着いて体験できるのではないかと思います。

お昼もターミナルまで送っていただいたので、お店選びには困りませんでしたし、バスの中でスタッフさんおすすめのお店も教えていただけました。
持ち物は書いてあるもの以外では帽子、日焼け止めと、スマホ防水ケースがあればサップ中は自分でも写真が撮れるのでおすすめです。

Due to the approaching typhoon, we couldn't go to the Blue Cave, but instead, we went to Ohsaki Beach. The snorkeling lasted about an hour, and I was very satisfied! It felt like being in a natural aquarium with so many fish, and the coral was beautiful. Along the way, the guide showed us a sea snake and a pufferfish.

During the bus ride, we learned about Ishigaki Island, making it an enjoyable trip. However, since we swam for an hour straight, those without stamina might want to be cautious! Still, there are floaties available for tired people, so if you get tired, you can just hold onto one. Next time, I want to visit the Blue Cave on a sunny day!

台風が近づいているということで、青の洞窟には行けませんでしたが、代わりに大崎ビーチに行きました。1時間くらいのシュノーケリングでしたが、大満足でした！

We participated as a family of four.
It was our first experience with stand-up paddleboarding, but the environment at the tour location was calm, and the guide's explanations were concise and good.
There were times we were delayed, but there was no atmosphere of pressure, and we were grateful for their patience.

The sea changed color from transparent to emerald green depending on the sunlight, and the scenery was so beautiful that I found myself stopping to paddle many times! This is my second time participating in a bus tour with Veltra. (I have also done a bus tour without a guide once.) During my first tour, I was able to touch on the history of Okinawa and learn about its true aspects, which I felt was very beneficial for me. This time, I also felt it was great to learn about the true history of Ishigaki Island. The guide was cheerful and likable, and despite having children, they also had a strong desire to improve in their work, which I found wonderful. It was a full-day course, but there were breaks, so I didn't feel rushed, which was great. Although the weather was bad and the snorkeling at the Blue Cave was changed to a different beach, I was satisfied.

The meeting place was easy to find, and it was helpful that I could make a reservation even the day before. The staff members were different for the morning and afternoon tours. If you're in the city, they will pick you up at your hotel, making it convenient to return from the beach without needing to change. We used the shower room, which is about a 5-minute walk from the terminal. We were also taken to our destination by bus. There was no specific explanation, but I saw a notice indicating a fee of 500 yen per person. I paid at that time, but I wondered later if the hot shower was included in the tour. It's recommended to bring your own towels and amenities, but there was a hairdryer available.

Basically, there was one staff member per group, so they seemed busy with explanations, photo-taking, and escorting. 市街地であればホテルまで迎えにきてくれるため、帰ります海に入ったまま帰ることもできるので便利です。私たちはシャワールームを利用させてもらいました。ターミナルより徒歩5分くらいの場所です、バスで目的地まだ送ってもらいました。特に説明はなかったので張り紙をみたところ1人500円の表示がありました。その際は支払いをしましたが、ツアー内に温水シャワーも含まれていた？かもと終わってから思いました。タオルやアメニティはないため持参をオススメします。ドライヤーはありました。

基本的に1グループにスタッフが1人だったので説明〜写真撮影、エスコートと忙しそうな印象を受けました。
しがし、スタッフの方は感じのよく色んな説明をしながらガイドをしてくれてとても満足しました。
初めてのSAPでしたが、楽しむことができました。ツアー時間も長く大満足、子供などはちょっと飽きてしまう？疲れてしまうかなと思いました。
グループごとに写真も撮ってくれるため記念になります。しかしスタッフは1人なので写真の枚数は限られます。

シュノーケルは事前に場所が変更になることを前日に教えていただき、参加するかを選べます。
海はとても綺麗で波も少なく泳ぎやすかったです
私は何度かシュノーケルをしていましたが、一緒に参加したパートナーは初めてでした。泳げないわけではないので最後まで参加することができましが、
泳ぎが得意ではない方や途中で体調不良を起こしてしまった人が居た場合怖いと思いました。
基本的にスタッフさんは声をかけてくれますが、1番前で道をエスコートしてくれています。しかし、後ろの様子や遅れが出た場合、何かあった際にすぐに陸地は戻れないパニックが生じた際に戻るフェリーがないなど万が一を考えた場合生命危機が高いのではないかと思いました。
私たちが参加したグループの方はほとんどが20代で体力もあり泳ぐことが出来ていたのでスタッフさんもそこまで気にかけなかったのかとも思います。しかし、スタッフさんが1人だからこそもう少し配慮があってもいいかと思いました。

値段とツアー内容、石垣島を楽しむことができてとても満足しています。半日コースなどニーズに合わせて様々なコースがあるのでぜひ検討してみてください

It was my first time trying SUP, and there was a briefing on how to use it and paddle, so I was able to ride without any problems! Even though it was October, the weather was still warm, and it was just right to fall in and get wet. The instructor took a lot of photos, so I was satisfied to have both the experience and memories captured. They even got some great shots of me falling! Haha. It was my first experience, but I really enjoyed it. Regarding the shuttle service to and from the location, our guide and instructor, A, provided fascinating insights into Okinawa's culture, history, and local characteristics. I learned that A has lived in Ishigaki Island for over ten years, and I thought they must really love Ishigaki Island, almost like a local. Instructor I also taught us about stand-up paddleboarding in a very thorough manner, allowing us to enjoy it at our own pace. I made a last-minute reservation the night before while watching the weather, as a typhoon was approaching. I was a bit worried about whether I could participate since it was outside of business hours, but I received a reassuring call first thing in the morning. Unfortunately, due to strong winds, we couldn't do SUP, but they suggested kayaking instead, and I joined. The guide was cheerful and entertaining throughout, sharing a lot about Ishigaki Island during our trip. The explanations about the mangroves and the way they taught us how to paddle the kayak were both thorough and kind, making it a really enjoyable tour! Walking in the sea before snorkeling was quite exhausting.

The tour vehicle was cold, and I ended up getting car sick before we arrived. I took deep breaths through the snorkel and carefully observed the underwater scenery. The colorful coral reefs were beautiful, delicate, and vibrant, making me want to touch them. The fish swam around without fear of humans, allowing me to see them up close, almost within reach. The moment a school of colorful tropical fish swam right past me was breathtaking, and I truly felt the richness of nature.

There was a large rock a little distance away, and every time I went to look for creatures hiding in its shadow or dove into deeper areas, I made new discoveries. The chance encounters with the underwater life were a unique charm of snorkeling. It became an important time to connect with nature and reset myself. I definitely want to experience this again next time.

Due to the typhoon, we couldn't go to the Blue Cave, but the guide told us, "We'll go to a place that's just as good!" so I was initially skeptical. It was raining, and it was so cold, and our life jackets were wet!

However, during the trip, thanks to the guide's kind and fun stories and careful instructions, I was really able to enjoy snorkeling with ease! I'm truly glad I participated! I was told that we might encounter sea turtles about 3 times out of 10, and guess what! We encountered one!

Also, I was able to see the boundary where the coral reef, which is said to act as a breakwater, ends.

I got to see beautiful fish and sea snakes too!

I really felt that the guide truly cares about Ishigaki Island! I want to go snorkeling in Ishigaki again with this guide! And to all tourists! Let's not throw trash into the sea or the harbor! I will participate again next year!

I participated in my first Ishigaki Island tour with my siblings.

Although a typhoon was approaching and the weather was unstable with heavy rain until the morning of the tour, we were fortunate that it stopped raining just in time for snorkeling. I joined the snorkeling activity despite not being a strong swimmer, but I had no issues thanks to the provided life jacket and fins (if you find yourself in trouble, you can hold onto the guide's float for safety✨).

For the mangrove part, we chose to go canoeing. The thrill of venturing deep into the jungle was an incredible experience that you can't usually have✨. If we had more time, I would definitely want to try stand-up paddleboarding as well.

The guide's stories about the island were so interesting that I wished I had heard them on the first day; there were plenty of recommendations for sightseeing and dining. I highly recommend this tour and will definitely participate again!!

I experienced stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) for the first time at Kabira Bay.

Although I had some nervousness and was unfamiliar with it, the instructor taught me patiently from the basics, and I was able to stand up and enjoy moving around on my own. It became a wonderful experience to connect with nature!

I felt that I would like to try SUP again when I come back to Ishigaki Island! It's a marine activity that can be enjoyed even alone, so I would love to recommend it to many people!

We gathered at the remote island terminal at 5:40 AM for the sunrise stand-up paddleboarding (SUP). I had originally requested a canoe, but since SUP is popular and recommended, I switched to SUP. In the end, I’m glad I made the change!

It was my first time, and I had so much fun, even falling into the river multiple times! It was embarrassing to fall, but once I did, it actually felt great! Unfortunately, it was cloudy, so we couldn’t see the sunrise, but I had a very active and refreshing time from the morning. We returned to the hotel around 7:50 AM and then disbanded, as we were to regroup at 9:00 AM.

We headed back to the remote island terminal for the regrouping. Unfortunately, we couldn’t go to the Blue Cave due to strong winds, so we changed to Ohsaki Beach, but I had a great time seeing various fish! On the way to the beach, we had lots of conversations, and I got recommendations for good restaurants.

This was my second time snorkeling on this trip, and the ocean was beautiful and fun as expected. During the snorkeling, I was introduced to different fish, and I even got to touch a sea cucumber for the first time! Although I didn’t see any turtles, I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful sea and the fish!

Make sure to bring extra towels.

They took lots of photos and videos during both the SUP and snorkeling! I was really happy to receive them later via LINE!

Even though I participated alone, I was never left out and had a great time. I fell in love with Ishigaki Island.

朝5:40離島ターミナル集合でサンライズsupへ。
カヌーでお願いしていましたが人気はsup、おすすめはsupとのことでsupに変更しました。結果、変更してよかった！
初めてでしたがとてもたのしく、なんども川に落ちました！落ちるが恥ずかしかったけど、一度落ちてしまえば逆に気持ちよかったです！
残念ながら曇っていてサンライズは見れませんでしたが、あさからアクティブに動いてとても気持ちのいい時間を過ごせました。7:50ごろホテルに戻り、また9時集合ということで一度解散。

再集合のため離島ターミナルへ。
残念ながら青の洞窟は強風のためいけず、大崎ビーチに変更でしたが、いろんなお魚に会えて楽しかったです！
ビーチまでもいろんなお話をしていただき、おすすめのご飯屋さんなども教えてもらえました。
シュノーケリングはこの旅で2回目でしたがやはりうみはきれいでたのしかった。
最中もお魚の紹介をしてもらえて、ナマコも拾ってきてくれて初めてさわれました！
亀は見れませんでしたが十分きれいな海とお魚を堪能できて最高でした！

タオルは多めに持っていきましょう。

supもシュノーケルもたくさん写真動画を撮ってくれました！あとからLINEで送ってもらえてとっても嬉しかったです！

1人参加でも置いていかれることなく、とても楽しませてもらえました。石垣島大好きになりました。
