The bus tour was blessed with good weather, and it was just a bit hot. The hamburger we had for lunch was so delicious that I wanted to have a second helping. It was my first time on a water buffalo cart, and more than ten people can ride in the cart, but it is pulled by just one powerful water buffalo! It was adorable to see the water buffalo stop along the way and take a leisurely break.

Due to the wind, we couldn't go to the Blue Cave, but we were taken to another spot. There were many tropical fish near the coral, and it was a great experience to see fish up close that you usually see in an aquarium! I even encountered a large sea turtle that I had never seen before; according to the guide, you only get to see one about once in every 20 times. They took photos at various points and checked in on how I was feeling, which made me feel secure throughout the experience! I want to go snorkeling again someday!

I arrived earlier than my reserved time, but since there was availability, I was able to board an earlier boat. It was quite crowded and nearly full, but the captain's explanations were clear and precise, the scenery was beautiful, and I was able to see a lot of fish, which made me very satisfied. Also, the fact that parking is free is a big plus if you're renting a car.

The departure from the bus terminal in front of Ishigaki Port was convenient, as the highlights were well-organized. It's nice to hear the guide's stories instead of driving a rental car. The guide who led my tour seemed to be studying the sanshin and even performed for us. I participated in a day tour to another remote island, and compared to that, I think the lunch was good for the price.

Kabira Bay had incredibly beautiful, clear waters.
I could see all the way to the bottom of the sea, and I felt that the cleanliness was due to the cooperation of everyone in taking their trash home.
In the photo, I discovered a sea turtle, which is said to be a lucky encounter! On its shell, there was surprisingly a fish! It was a rare experience with two strokes of luck combined.

After SUP in the mangrove forest, we went snorkeling in the sea. It was my first experience with SUP, but I was taught carefully and succeeded in paddling while standing! During the experience, I was able to learn a lot about the local plants and the characteristics of Ishigaki Island. While moving around, they also introduced us to recommended shops we passed by, which allowed us to fully enjoy our trip. Snorkeling was my second experience, and I was healed by the beautiful sea and colorful fish. There were children among the participants, but the staff provided careful support, so I think families with kids can participate with peace of mind. Thanks to all the staff, it was a fun trip! I used it on the last day of my 2-night, 3-day trip. The lunch was delicious, and the gentle and lovely bus guide provided detailed explanations on the bus, along with performances of the sanshin and singing, making the entire experience enjoyable. It was very convenient that we could get off at the airport on the way back.
2泊3日の最終日に利用しました。昼食も美味しく、バス車内では穏やかで可愛いバスガイドさんの丁寧な説明があり、三線&歌も披露ありで、終始楽しく過ごせました。帰りは空港下車ができるので、とても便利でした。

Participation with parents in their 20s and 50s! I received a call the day before informing me that due to the wind and waves, the SUP experience would take place in the mangroves instead of Kabira Bay. If you prefer not to do SUP in the mangroves, you can cancel for free at this point. They will provide detailed information about the pick-up time and what to bring during that call.
The pre-activity lecture was thorough, and we were able to take photos with the mangroves in the background before we got too tired. Afterward, I accidentally fell in and got soaked, so I was really grateful to have a nice memory photo in good condition... (laughs)
They teach you how to ride, paddle, and stand not only during the initial lecture but also with ongoing guidance! My mother said before the experience that she "absolutely couldn't stand," but surprisingly, she was able to stand quite easily. After declaring that she was prepared to fall, she was even taught some fun challenges like jumping on the board and standing on one leg!
During the tour, we learned about the mangroves and the nature of Ishigaki Island at various points, and I was very satisfied not only with the fun of the SUP experience but also with the knowledge I was able to take home. We got to take a lot of photos! The moment I stood up for the first time, with my awkward stance, was perfectly captured, and it was moving＾＾
In early January, the weather was cloudy and windy, so it felt quite chilly at first. However, wearing a long-sleeved jersey in addition to my swimsuit, I found that I didn't mind it much after moving around a lot. But falling in and getting wet was definitely cold!! I strongly recommend bringing a change of clothes and a large towel for winter experiences, just in case and to fully enjoy the activity...!
I had so much fun that I want to try SUP in Kabira Bay as well! Thank you for the wonderful memories!
20代と50代の親子での参加！前日にいただいた電話で、風や波の関係で川平湾ではなくマングローブでのSUP体験になる旨を聞きました。川平湾でのSUPでないならキャンセル、という方はこの時点なら無料でキャンセルができるそう。送迎の時間、持ち物についてはその電話で改めて詳しく教えてもらえます。
アクティビティ開始前のレクチャーは丁寧で、「クタクタ顔になる前に」とマングローブをバックに写真撮影もしていただけました。なお、その後うっかり転落してびしょ濡れになったので綺麗な状態の記念写真が残ったのは本当に有り難かったです…（笑）
乗り方、漕ぎ方、立ち方も初めのレクチャーに加えて随時声かけで教えてくれます！母は体験前は「絶対に立てない」と言っていましたが、案外すんなりと立つことができていました。落ちる覚悟で色々準備してきたと宣言したところ、ボードの上でのジャンプや片足立ちなどちょっとしたチャレンジも教えてもらえました！
ツアー中、随所でマングローブや石垣島の自然について教えていただけて、SUPを体験できた楽しさだけでなく色々な知識を持って帰れて大満足です。写真たくさん撮ってもらえました！初めて立った瞬間のへっぴり腰の写真もバッチリ残ってて感動です＾＾
1月初旬、天気は曇りで風があったのではじめは割と肌寒く感じました。それでも水着に加え長袖のジャージで臨めば、たくさん動くのもあって途中からはとくに気にならなかったです。ただ落ちて濡れるとさすがに寒い！！万が一のために&全力で楽しむために冬季の体験では着替えと大きいタオルを持参しておくのを強くお勧めします…！
めちゃくちゃ楽しかったので川平湾でもSUPしてみたいなと思いました！素敵な思い出をありがとうございました！

I participated in a day tour of stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) in the morning and snorkeling in the afternoon.
It had been lightly raining since the day before, and it continued to rain until the morning of the tour, but there were no issues with the morning SUP. By the afternoon, it cleared up a bit, so I was able to enjoy snorkeling without any problems. (Although it was supposed to be a tour of the Blue Cave, we had to snorkel at a different spot due to the weather.)
The SUP instructor was Mr. Kimura, who taught us energetically.
During the SUP in the mangroves, I was initially nervous about falling, but I got used to it and was able to focus on the scenery. (For those who are scared to stand, paddling in a cross-legged position is stable and comfortable. However, standing is much more fun! She fell in at the end, though.)
As long as you don't fall, you only get your feet and butt wet, so it's easy to enjoy, and I want to try it in the ocean next time.
We disbanded at the island terminal for lunch and ate Ishigaki beef burgers at a burger place recommended by Mr. Kimura called Vanilla Deli.
I ordered the double patty burger with avocado wasabi sauce that was recommended. Since it was Ishigaki beef, it was a bit pricey, but the minced patty was chunky and had a strong meat flavor, and the combination of the sweet sauce and wasabi sauce was excellent and very delicious.
We gathered again at the island terminal for the second half of the snorkeling.
Our guide was Mr. Sebastian. He was very cheerful and easy to talk to, and he was also very attentive to all the participants.
She tends to get seasick easily, so she felt a bit nauseous during the tour, but he quickly noticed and addressed it accurately, allowing her to recover and continue.
The visibility and the condition of the fish might not have been perfect due to the weather, but you can't control the weather in summer or winter, and I was able to enjoy it enough.

前日から軽い雨で、ツアー当日の朝まで雨でしたが、午前のsupには特に支障はなく、午後からはそこそこ晴れたのでシュノーケリングも問題なく参加する事が出来ました。
(青の洞窟のツアーでしたが、天候の都合で別ポイントでのシュノーケリングとなりました。)
supは木村さんというインストラクターさんで、元気に教えて頂きました。
マングローブでのsup、最初は落ちたくない緊張感がありましたが途中から慣れてきて景色に集中できるようになりました。
(立つのが怖い人はあぐら状態で漕ぐと安定していて楽かもです。ただ立つほうがめっちゃ楽しいです！彼女は最後に落ちましたが)
基本落ちなければ濡れるのも足とお尻ぐらいなので気楽に楽しめるし、今度は海でやりたいと思いました。
お昼に離島ターミナルで1度解散し、木村さんオススメのバニラデリというハンバーガー屋で石垣牛ハンバーガーを食べました。
注文したのはオススメされたアボカドわさびソースバーガーのパテダブル。石垣牛という事もあり少しお値段はしますが、パテのミンチがゴロゴロと肉感が強く、甘いタレとわさびソースの相性も抜群でとても美味しかったです。
再び離島ターミナルで集合して、後半のシュノーケリングへ。
担当してくれたのはセバスチャンさん。
この方もとても明るく、接しやすい方で、また、参加者全員への気配りが丁寧な方でした。
彼女は酔いやすい体質なので、ツアー途中少しだけ波に酔う事もありましたが、素早く気付いてもらえ、的確に対処してもらえたのですぐ回復し、続行できました。
天候の影響で完璧な視界や魚たちの状態ではなかったかもしれませんが、夏でも冬でも天候の運はありますし、十分に楽しむ事ができました。
セバスチャンさんからは夜の飲食のおすすめ店をたくさん教えてもらいました。どこも知らない所で、とりあえず早速予約しました。
帰りはホテルまで送ってもらい、塩を流して一眠りし、美味い酒と飯へ…。涼しい石垣島のクリスマス、めっちゃ良いです。
次も閑散期を狙って、後は天候を神様に願い、今度こそ青の洞に行けたら、と思います。

I experienced SUP and snorkeling for the first time. Unfortunately, it was raining, but I was happy to have the rare opportunity to do SUP in the mangroves. For lunch, the guide recommended a great burger place. Although it rained during the snorkeling in the afternoon, I was able to see beautiful corals and fish when I dove into the sea. I confirmed in advance whether only children could participate before making the reservation. Unfortunately, on the day of the event, the sea was rough and the temperature was cold, but in the morning we did a mangrove canoe tour, followed by a 3-hour break (which seemed a bit long for the kids…). In the afternoon, due to the weather, we couldn't go to the Blue Cave, so we snorkeled at another location. The sea conditions seemed calm, so I was able to relax and leave it to the guides while I was diving elsewhere.
The communication before the reservation and the day before was smooth, and I felt it was a trustworthy tour. I would definitely like to make a reservation again if I have the opportunity next time. Thank you very much.

First, we went canoeing down a river filled with mangroves. We were able to see mangrove tunnels and coral caves as well. Thanks to our guide, Shinpei, who kindly provided instructions, we had a fun canoeing experience.
After a two-hour break for lunch, we moved to the beach for a snorkeling experience. It had been a while since I last snorkeled, but I enjoyed seeing beautiful fish and coral reefs. I was lucky to encounter a green sea turtle as well.
On the way back, we were taken to a free shower spot, which was great because I could shower right away. We took a lot of photos, and it became a wonderful memory.

The one-way fare from the airport to the remote island terminal is 540 yen, so it's a good deal if you plan to make a round trip within 24 hours. It's the same price as the round-trip ticket offered by Toei Bus, but since it can be used for places other than the airport, I thought it was a good purchase. Even when searching for routes on Google Maps, many destinations take about 20 minutes on foot from the bus stop. It was unfortunately rainy. Although the forecast predicted light rain, it was quite heavy at Kabira Bay, and the glass-bottom boat service was suspended. Nevertheless, the tour around the island by bus was enjoyable. I can only imagine how wonderful the scenery must be in better weather. Thank you for sharing various insights about the island.
あいにくの雨でした。小雨予報でしたが川平湾では、結構降っていてグラスボートも運休でした。それでも、観光バスでの島内一周は、楽しかったです。きっと季節が良ければ、すばらしーーーい風景なのだろうと想像もできました。

I had the opportunity to go mangrove stand-up paddleboarding on Miyara River in Ishigaki Island. I experienced a surreal feeling similar to that of "Itte Q"! There was no wind, and I surprisingly managed to stand up on the paddleboard quite quickly, which was a lot of fun 🎵.
Additionally, the coordinator was very kind and shared many recommendations for shops in Ishigaki Island, making for great conversation and a wonderful time 👍. Thank you very much! ❗️
石垣島、宮良川のマングローブサップをやらせていただきました。「イッテQ」のような非日常感あふれる景色を体験できました！風も無くサップも意外とすぐ立てるようになって楽しかったです🎵
