We participated as a couple. My husband is in his 50s and I am in my 40s. We are both divers, but we have only done resort diving overseas and have never dived together in Japan. Diving is very enjoyable, but it can be quite tiring and stressful, often leaving us exhausted and ready to sleep afterward. We thought that snorkeling would be sufficient to enjoy Ishigaki, so we chose that this time. The staff picked us up at the hotel at the promised time, and then we borrowed wetsuits, masks, snorkels, and fins at the shop before heading to the port. There, they carefully taught us the correct way to wear the snorkel, how to clear water from the mask, and emergency signals. After that, we moved to the boat and headed to the snorkeling spot. The location was close to the port, so there was no seasickness. Before anchoring the boat, the staff entered the water first and seemed to have chosen a spot with clownfish, allowing us to enjoy the cute clownfish and various colorful fish for a long time.

夫婦で参加しました。夫５０歳台、妻40歳代で共にダイバーではありますが、実は海外でのリゾートダイビングばかりで、日本で一緒に潜ったことはありません。ダイビングをすると非常に楽しいのですが、緊張感と疲れで、その後どっと疲れて寝てしまうというのと、石垣ならシュノーケルでも十分楽しめるのではないかと期待して、今回はシュノーケリングを選びました。約束通りの時間にスタッフの方がホテルにピックアップに来てくださり、その後、ショップでウェットスーツ、マスク、シュノーケル、フィンをお借りし、港へ移動。そこでシュノーケルの正しい着用方法やマスクに水が入ってしまった際の水抜きの仕方や緊急時のサインなどを丁寧に教えて頂きました。そしてボートに移動しポイントへ。ポイントは港から近い場所で、船酔いすることもありません。舟を停泊させる前にスタッフの方がエントリーし、クマノミがいるポイントを選んでくれていたようで、かわいいクマノミや、いろいろな色の魚を長い時間楽しむことが出来ました。

We, who live in Miyagi Prefecture and Hiroshima Prefecture, reunited after a long time and came to Ishigaki Island. At 1:00 PM, we headed to "Tom Sawyer" for snorkeling. We had filled out the paperwork perfectly, and I handed the completed documents to the staff with a smile. "And the voucher, please." Wait... Oh no... I printed it out, and I had it just a moment ago. Oh no. I left it behind when I switched my bags. When I told them I didn't have it, they kindly said, "That's okay." How grateful I am!

Time to change. Huh? We're wearing wetsuits today. Wow. This might be my first time snorkeling in a wetsuit.

We moved to the port. Off we go. There are seven of us, including the staff, making a total of nine on the boat. It takes about 20 minutes to reach the point. I can see Taketomi Island. Looking into the sea, the dark spots are coral reefs. This is my first time in the sea of Ishigaki Island. I'm so excited!

On the boat, we received a lecture on how to snorkel. We were taught the signal for "Help me." I hope I can manage without using the "Help" sign. Let's see how it goes.

We put on our gear and jumped into the sea. Splash! It's warm. Snorkeling starts now.

At first, I held onto an orange float (maybe it was a life jacket?) and moved towards the guide. Under the sea, there are colorful corals and various fish. It's beautiful. The small blue fish swimming in schools are so cute. The big fish have interesting expressions. The guide dove down to show us a sea cucumber and caught a pufferfish for us to see. The pufferfish curls up and gets spiky. When we let it go, it deflated and disappeared to the bottom of the sea.

After about 30 minutes, we returned to the boat. While resting, I saw someone jet skiing in the distance. They were good. Maybe it was the guide.

Back into the sea for the second time. I fed the fish some sausages. A lot of fish came rushing towards the sausages. It was cute to see them eating from my hand. When the big fish came charging in, it was a bit scary.

I think we were in the water for about an hour the second time. Just floating around was fun too.

We returned to the boat, took off our wetsuits, and felt light and relieved. I went up to the second floor of the boat and took some photos while feeling the breeze. It was a very satisfying snorkeling experience.

Back at the shop, we took showers and changed. Thank you very much, "Tom Sawyer."

　宮城県と広島県に住む私たち、久しぶりに再会し、石垣島へきました。１３：００シュノーケリングでお世話になる「トムソーヤ」さんへ。書類はバッチリ書いてきたもんねー、と記入済みの書類をにこにこしながらスタッフさんに渡す。「バウチャーもお願いします。」えっ・・・。あっ・・・。印刷したのに、さっきまで持っていたのに。ガーン。荷物入れ替えの時置いてきちゃった。持ってきていないことを伝えると「いいですよ。」とやさしい声。ありがたや～。
　着替えへ。あれ？ウェットスーツを着るんだ、今日。へえ。ウェットスーツを着てのシュノーケリングははじめてかも。
　港へ移動。いざ出港。ツアーは私たちを含めて７名とスタッフさん２名。９名で船へ。ポイントまでは約２０分。竹富島がみえる。海の底を覗くと黒くみえるところがサンゴ礁。はじめての石垣島の海。ドキドキワクワク。
　船の上でシュノーケリングの仕方をレクチャーされる。「助けてください。」の合図も教わる。できれば、「助けて」のサインを使わずにやりたいものだが。さて、どうか？
　３点セットをつけて船から海へ。ドボン。あたたかい。シュノーケリングスタート。
　はじめはオレンジ色の浮き輪（ライフジャケットを広げたものかな？）を持ちながらガイドさんのいる方へ進む。
　海の中には色とりどりのサンゴがあって、色とりどりの魚がいる。きれい。鮮やかなブルーの小さい魚が群れをなして泳ぐのがかわいい。大きな魚も表情が面白い。ガイドさんが潜ってなまこを取って見せてくれたり、ハリセンボンを捕まえて見せてくれたりした。ハリセンボン、丸くなってトゲトゲになるんだ。逃がしてやるとしぼみながら海の底へ消えていった。
　３０分程して一度船へ。休憩していると遠くで水上ジェットをやっている人がみえた。上手。ガイドさんがやっていたのかな。
　二度目の海へ。ソーセージを魚たちにあげる。ソーセージめがけてたくさんの魚がやってきた。手から魚たちが食べる姿がかわいい。大きい魚が勢いよくくるとちょっとこわい。
　二度目は一時間くらい海に入っていたかな。ただ、プカプカ浮いているのも楽しかった。
　船に戻り、ウェットスーツを脱いで身軽になり、ほっと一息。船の二階にあがって風を感じながら写真をパシャリ。大満足のシュノーケリングでした。
　ショップに戻ってシャワー・着替え。「トムソーヤ」さん、大変お世話になりました。

This time, I signed up for this tour because I wanted to enjoy snorkeling thoroughly in Ishigaki. They picked me up from the hotel and treated me with kindness and a constant smile, making it a very pleasant tour. Here are my impressions.

Good points:
- All the staff were really kind and gentle!
- The boat was equipped with drinks.
- The water was very clear, and there were plenty of fish (though it can't quite compare to Guam).
- The pick-up and drop-off service was attentive and reassuring.
- It was very child-friendly!

Points of concern:
- Perhaps it was just a coincidence, but the tide was fast, and there were some waves, making the conditions quite challenging.

Tips for those going:
- Please bring fish food, such as fish sausage or wheat gluten (they said it's totally fine to feed them).
- You'll be on the boat and in the water for quite a while, so make sure to use the restroom beforehand.
- Those who are prone to seasickness might feel unwell, so be sure to take motion sickness medication!

If you keep the above in mind, it will be an amazing tour.

P.S. When a child mentioned wanting a shell, the staff gave us a beautiful large shell after we got off the boat! Thank you so much! 😊

今回、石垣でじっくりとシュノーケリングをしたくてこちらに申し込みしました。
しっかりホテルに迎えに来てくれて、丁寧に常に笑顔で接してくれて
とても気持ちが良いツアーでした。
感想を述べます。

良かった点
・スタッフの方が皆さんほんと親切で優しい！
・船には飲み物も完備
・海の透明度は高く、魚はいっぱい（グアムにはちょっと負けます）
・送り迎えも丁寧で安心
・子供にとっても優しい！

気になった点
・たまたまだったのか、潮が早く、波も少しあり結構環境がヘビーだった

これから行く人への注意点
・魚の餌は持参してください、魚肉ソーセージや麩等（全然あげていいそうです）
・結構な時間、船と海の中にいるので、トイレはしっかり済ませておくように・・
・船に弱い人は酔いますｗ　酔い止めをしっかりと!


以上を気を付ければ最高のツアーです。

追伸：スタッフの方が子供が貝を欲しいと言ったら、下船後に大きな綺麗な貝をくれました！
本当にありがとうございました＾＾

We participated in a half-day snorkeling tour as a family of three (with a 7-year-old child). Since our hotel was close to Tom Sawyer's shop, we walked there. The staff helped us choose the right size equipment with great care.

The port was just a 1-2 minute walk away, but they provided a shuttle to take us there. To our surprise, the boat was very large. As someone who has done scuba diving, I've seen various boats, but this one was very spacious and comfortable.

We set sail with two boats, dividing into groups for experience diving and snorkeling. On our boat, there was a person in a wheelchair, and the staff treated them with great kindness.

After receiving a snorkeling lecture, we were ready to snorkel. The conditions were very calm, making it easy for beginners.

One positive aspect was that we could wear wetsuits, which provided good buoyancy, allowing my child to enjoy it without fear.

On the downside, there were fewer instructors than the number of participants. While the shop doesn't claim to have a small group system, it would have been better if they had paid a bit more attention, especially since my child struggled to breathe through the snorkel and I had to stay close to assist.

私たちの船には、足の不自由な車いすに乗った方が同乗していましたが
スタッフの方々は、とても丁寧に接していました。

そして、シュノーケリングのレクチャーを受け、いざシュノーケリングへ。
ポイントは、とても穏やかな波で初心者にはとてもやりやすかったと思います。

良かった点は、ウエットスーツを着てやることができたので
しっかり浮力が確保できて、子供も怖がらずできた。

残念だった点は、参加人数に対してインストラクターの方が少ない点です。
少人数制をうたっている店ではないので、無理は言えませんが
子供がシュノーケルでうまく息ができなかったので、私が子供につきっきりで見ていました
。一人一人が楽しめるように、もう少し気を使っていただけたらもっと良かったと思います。

しかし、全体的に感じが良いスタッフの方ばかりで丁寧に接していただき
とても楽しいシュノーケリングが楽しめました。

I have snorkeled several times in the past, but this was my first experience seeing such a beautiful sea with colorful coral reefs. It was raining heavily that day, and there was thunder, so the staff changed our morning course to the afternoon course. They considered the safety of the participants when deciding to cancel, and their suggestion for the afternoon snorkeling was thoughtful, ensuring that everyone could enjoy it to the fullest. Fortunately, by the afternoon, the rain had lightened, and the thunder had stopped! Under the sea, there were various types of fish and vibrant coral reefs, and I took many photos with an underwater camera! They pointed out where to find clownfish, and I was able to see them. I wanted to enjoy a leisurely snorkeling experience, but just beach entry wasn't enough, so I joined this half-day tour. We brought our own equipment like wetsuits, but others participated without any gear. The boat had a restroom and a dry area, and we could bring our belongings like cameras on board. There was also a free tea server available.

After departing for 20 minutes, we anchored at the snorkeling point for our snorkeling time. Since there were also participants for introductory diving on the same tour, we stayed at one spot for about 90 minutes. While the divers received their briefing, we eagerly jumped into the sea. The staff was always attentive to safety, allowing us to relax and enjoy the waters of Ishigaki at our own pace.

The underwater scenery of Ishigaki is amazing! The seabed is covered in white sand, and the water is crystal clear blue. As we swam, we were surrounded by coral reefs. The schools of damselfish sparkled in the blue, and it was beautiful! We found a family of clownfish among the soft corals, which was thrilling. We encountered pairs of butterflyfish and various schools of fish.

When we got tired of swimming, we returned to the boat, took a break with some tea, and then headed back into the water.

At the end, the staff asked, "Would you like to feed the fish?" and gave us fish sausage. It was incredibly effective! I felt like I was in a dragon palace, surrounded by a variety of fish of all sizes and colors, enjoying the attention. Since we had a flight in the afternoon, we borrowed the office's shower room to freshen up and were able to wash our equipment as well. The location was close to the bus terminal, making it perfect for our last day.

石垣の海の中は最高！海底が白砂で海は澄みきったブルー。うっとりする浮遊感にひたりつつ泳ぎ出ると、もうそこらじゅうサンゴ礁だらけ。スズメダイの群がキラキラ青く光ってて綺麗なこと！ソフトコーラルにクマノミ家族を見つけて大興奮。ツノダシ、チョウチョウウオのペアやいろんな魚の群れに出会えました。

泳ぎ疲れたら船に戻り、お茶をいただきながら休憩して、また海へ。

最後にはスタッフさんから「魚にエサやりますか？」と魚肉ソーセージをもらいました。これがすごい威力！ここは竜宮城かと思うほど大小、色とりどりの魚にとり囲まれてモテモテ状態。シュノーケルを咥えながら笑いが止まらない楽しいひと時でした。

午後の飛行機で帰るという日程だったので、事務所のシャワー室をお借りして身支度をととのえ、持ち込み機材も洗わせていただきました。バスターミナルに近く、最終日にはもってこいの立地で助かりました。

My first snorkeling experience. I was very nervous, but I was taught carefully, and even as a beginner, I was able to enjoy it. Unfortunately, it was a cloudy day, but underwater, it was a completely different world, and I had a blast with my friends! The phantom island felt mystical, as if it were standing right in the middle of the ocean.

It was a very homely and enjoyable tour. We are a couple in our fifties, and we had a great time without any worries. When we fed the fish, we were surprised to see so many cute fish gathering around our hands. Thank you to all the staff for your care. Next time, I definitely want to participate in the experience diving.

大変アットホームな雰囲気の良いツアーでした。当方５０過ぎの夫婦での参加でしたが、不安なく大変楽しい一時でした。魚にエサをあげる時は、手の回りいっぱいの可愛らしい魚が集まって来てびっくりしました。スタッフの皆さんお世話になりました。今度は、是非体験ダイビングに参加したいです。
