I participated in a morning bus tour to return on the afternoon high-speed ferry. Since it was my first time in Yakushima, it was just right to tour the sightseeing spots and gather stories from around the island.

There was a thunderstorm last night, so the waterfalls had a lot of water and were quite impressive. Additionally, I was able to see many Yakushima macaques and Yakushima deer moving around in search of food, which was great.

午後の高速船で帰るため、午前のバスツアーに参加しました。初めての屋久島なので観光名所を巡って島一周は土産話が増えて丁度良かったです。
昨夜に雷雨があったので滝の水量が多く迫力ありました。更に屋久猿や屋久鹿も餌を求めて沢山移動しているのも観ることが出来て良かったです。

My stay was without a rental car, so the tour was very helpful. I was easily guided to the main attractions. Additionally, the guide's explanations were wonderful and insightful. I learned a lot about Yakushima. The tour around the island gave me a good understanding of the outer perimeter, which was beneficial for my subsequent travels. I highly recommend the Yakuzaru bus.

レンタカーなしの滞在だったので、ツアーはとても助かりました。
主要な見所に、簡単に案内してもらえました。
また、ガイドさんの説明が素晴らしく良かったです。屋久島のことがよくわかりました。
屋久島一周で、島の外周がわかり、その後の旅にも役立ちました。
やくざる号はおすすめです。

Yesterday was the day I returned. Since I had an evening flight, I scheduled a quick tour in the morning. Mr. Adachi provided various guidance during the drive. He took great photos and even stopped when there were deer. It was really kind of him, and I was able to enjoy a leisurely tour around Yakushima, taking in the forest and waterfalls. Everyone on the island was so kind and wonderful that I felt like I wanted to live there. I will definitely come back to visit again!

昨日、帰る日。夕方の飛行機にしたので午前中はやくざる観光を1本入れました。足立さん、車内も色々とガイドをしてくれたし。写真も上手に取ってくれたし、シカが居れば止まってくれたりと。すごく優しくて、のんびり森も滝も満喫しながら屋久島一周できました。ほんとに島の方みーーーんな優しくて良い方で、私も住みたくなりました。また必ず遊びにきます！

I used the service because I had half a day free and couldn't drive.

On the way there, I was picked up at a designated location, and on the way back, I was dropped off at my accommodation.

Yakusugi Land is quite far, and I think it took nearly 30 minutes by car.

The guide drove and walked with us while explaining things on-site.

The winding mountain road is relatively long, so I felt a bit nauseous. Those who are prone to motion sickness should be cautious.

半日空いているプラス車に乗れなかったため、利用しました。

行きは指定場所で拾ってもらい、帰りは宿まで送って頂けました。

ヤクスギランドまではそこそこ遠く、車で30分近かったと思います。

ガイドの方が運転、現地で説明しながら一緒に歩いてくれます。

途中の山道がうねっている、かつ割と長い道のりのため、若干酔いそうになりました。酔いやすい人は注意です。

The guide provided explanations throughout, making it easy to understand and enjoyable. The roads around the World Heritage site are narrow, so I definitely think it's better than driving ourselves in a rental car while feeling nervous.

ずっと、ガイドさんが説明してくれて、わかりやすく楽しかったです。世界遺産のところの道は狭いので、自分達でレンタカーでドキドキしながら走るより、絶対によいと思います

It was the right decision to take a leisurely one-day tour. The guide talked the whole time. I was able to understand the situation in Yakushima through this tour. I can make up for what I missed by renting a car the next day.

ゆっくり１日観光にして正解でした。
ガイドさんは終始喋ってました。
この観光で屋久島の状況が把握できました。
足りない分は翌日レンタカーを借りて回ることで十分です。

The weather was favorable, and Yakusugi Land was easy to walk through without needing poles. I was glad to encounter various types of moss. The droplets resting on the moss sparkled beautifully. I reflected on the passage of time as I observed the second generation growing based on the first. I was also pleased to see the Jomon cedar.

天気にも恵まれて屋久杉ランドはポールもいらず、歩きやすかったです。いろんな種類の苔にも巡り逢えて良かったです。苔に溜まった雫がキラキラしてました。1代目を元に2代目が成長して行く有様に悠々と流れる時の長さに想いを馳せました。
紀元杉も見られて良かったです。

We went to Yakushima with our family of four.

On the second day, we split into two groups for the Jomon Sugi tour and the Yakuzaru-go tour.

The guide provided very detailed explanations, including information about the trees that can only be seen in Yakushima. They also shared insights about life in Yakushima, allowing us to experience a different charm compared to exploring the island on our own.

I would love to participate again.

家族4人で屋久島へ

2日目は縄文杉ツアーとやくざる号ツアーに分かれて参加しました。

ガイドさんはとても丁寧な説明で、屋久島でしか見る事が出来ない木々の説明などをしていただきました。
屋久島での生活も含めて教えていただき、自分で屋久島を散策するのとは異なる魅力を味わう事が出来ました。

また、参加したいです。

It was unfortunately rainy, but the guide and driver worked very hard to show us around the island. There were some places we couldn't access due to the rain, which was disappointing, but thank you for not canceling the tour. The lunch bento was also delicious. It would have been even better if it had been sunny, but experiencing Yakushima in the rain is also a good memory.

あいにくの雨でしたが、ガイドさんやドライバーさんがとても一生懸命に島を案内してくれました。雨で立ち入れない場所もあり残念でしたが、中止にならずに催行してくださりありがとうございます。昼食のお弁当も美味しかったです。晴れていたらさらに良かったですが、雨の屋久島を体験できたことも良い思い出です。

June 3-6 Yakushima Sightseeing
On the first day, I visited Shiratani Unsuikyo and Taiko Rock.
The next day, I went trekking to Jomon Sugi.
On the third day, I participated in a tour around the island.
There were four of us: a couple, one man, and myself.
The guide shared a lot of information about Chihiro Falls, Okawa Falls, the Western Forest Road, and Nagata Inakahama, as well as the mountains, the sea, and the cultivation of tangerines and ponkan in winter.
He talked extensively about the World Heritage site, its history, and endemic species, making it easy to understand and very educational.
The fried flying fish was light and delicious.

In the afternoon, I visited Yakusugi Land, where there is a giant cedar tree right next to the road.
There are several courses of 30, 50, and 80 minutes, and I took the leisurely 50-minute course.
From my experience trekking over the days, I felt that each place has its own charm, but I might be rude to say this,
if you lack confidence in your physical strength and want to see Yakusugi,
I recommend Yakusugi Land.
It was just the right length for a loop, and I enjoyed it.

翌日、縄文杉トレッキング
3日目、島一周ツアーに参加しました。
ご夫婦と、男性1名、私、4名での移動
ガイドしてくださった方が
千尋の滝、大川の滝、西部林道、永田いなか浜と、
道中屋久島の山から、海、冬はたんかんや、ポンカン、うこんを育てている。
世界遺産のこと、歴史、固有種の話まで
幅広くお話されて、わかりやすく、大変勉強になりました。
トビウオの揚げ物淡白で美味しかった。

午後からのヤクスギランドは、
道路のすぐそばに紀元杉があり、
コースが、30.50.80分いくつかあり
ゆっくり50分コースをまわりました。
私は連日トレッキングして感じたのは
それぞれの良さがあるんだけど、
失礼な言い方かもしれませんが、
体力に自信がない方
屋久杉をご覧になりたいとすれば
ヤクスギランドは、おすすめです。
ちょうど良い一周
楽しめました。

Since it was my first time in Yakushima, I thought having a guide would help me understand nature better and make the experience more meaningful. However, I was disappointed that the price for solo participants was high because they used a two-person seat. I felt that even those who participated as a pair were sitting comfortably one by one!

初めての屋久島だったので、ガイドさんがいた方が自然のことをよく理解できて有意義だと思います。
ただ2人席を使うとのことで一人参加は値段が高いのが残念です。2人参加の方も一人ずつゆったり座っているのに！と思いました。

I'm glad I chose the bus tour over renting a car. The driver was incredibly skilled, navigating narrow roads even with oncoming traffic, so I felt safe the whole time. The tour guide also took photos for us, which was a nice touch. We were able to make a quick round, and every place became a wonderful memory.

レンタカーよりバスツアーにして良かったです。凄く狭い道で対向車が来ても運転手さんの技術が凄くて、安心して乗っていました。バスガイドさんも写真を撮って下さり嬉しかったです。サクッと1周出来てどの場所も最高の想い出となりました。

I participated in a course that circled Yakushima in the morning, and I was able to efficiently experience the wonderful aspects of Yakushima. The two waterfall tours and the walk along the World Heritage-listed Western Forest Road provided invaluable emotional experiences that I couldn't find elsewhere. The bus guide was also very experienced and provided thorough explanations, making for an enjoyable time. However, it was a bit disappointing that we passed by several stunning scenic spots, possibly due to time constraints and the bus's stopping locations.

午前で屋久島を一周するコースに参加しましたが、屋久島の素晴らしさを効率的に十分体験できました。
特に二つの滝観光と世界遺産西部林道歩行は他で得られない貴重な感動体験でした。
バスガイドさんも経験豊富で懇切丁寧に色々説明されて楽しい時間を過ごせました。
ただ少し残念だったのは時間やバスの停車場所の関係からか、数カ所の素晴らしい景観場所を素通りしたことでした。

After the Golden Week, I enjoyed a full-day bus tour blessed with beautiful weather. The cheerful and lively route guidance from our local guide, who resembled Fuka Koshiba, made the day enjoyable with her attentiveness. On the Western Forest Road, our veteran driver skillfully approached the yakuzaru and yakushika, allowing us to take photos multiple times. Although the group had a higher average age, everyone was able to walk energetically during the 50-minute hike at Yakusugi Land. We concluded the day by touching the Jomon Sugi, praying for our future health and longevity.

GW明け、晴天にも恵まれて１日バスツアーを堪能しました。
小芝風花さんに似た地元出身のガイドさんの明るく陽気なルート案内、気配りで１日中楽しめました。西部林道ではベテランドライバーさんの巧みな運転でやくざる・やくしかに優しく近づき何度も撮影できました。平均年齢が高めのグループでしたが、屋久杉ランドの５０分ハイクも皆さん元気に歩けました。最後の紀元杉タッチでは　今後の健康長寿を祈り　１日を締めくくりました。

We toured while listening to the guide's explanations in the heavy rain. The roads looked like rivers, but the trees were beautiful, and rain flowed like waterfalls in various places. It felt very dynamic.

大雨の中ガイドさんの説明を聞きながら観光しました。道が川のようでしたが木々は美しくあちこち滝のように雨が流れていました。ダイナミックな感じでした。

The tankan jelly, which is only sold at the Chihiro Falls shop, was very delicious. The Seibu Line Road was a path where I couldn't pass by while driving, but I was thrilled to see many Yakushima macaques and Yakushima deer.

千尋の滝の売店にしか売っていないというたんかんゼリーとても美味しかったです。西部林道はとても自分の運転ではすれ違うことができない道でしたが屋久ザルや屋久鹿にたくさん会えて感激でした。

It was a thoroughly satisfying day on the sightseeing bus. There were so many amazing highlights that I'm not sure where to start. First, the guide's personality was great, their tone of voice was pleasant, and the timing of the announcements was perfect. The driver's skills were also impressive.

I was able to fully enjoy the main attractions of Yakushima in just one day. The visit to Yakusugi Land in the afternoon was especially fun. We concluded with the guide's truly wonderful and soothing singing, which even made me feel like the end credits were rolling. If it's possible to request a specific guide, I would love to have them again next time. Thank you very much!

大満足な１日観光バスでした。最高なポイントが沢山ありすぎて、なにからお伝えしたらよいか迷ってます。まず、ガイドさんのお人柄良し、声のトーン良し、案内のタイミング良し。運転手さんの運転技術も素晴らしかった。
屋久島の魅力ある主な観光地を１日で満喫する事ができました。午後から行ったヤクスギランド、特に楽しかったです。最後はガイドさんの本当に素敵な癒やされる歌唱で締めくくり。エンドロールが流れてそうな錯覚さえ感じました。指名が可能であれば、次回もお願いしたいです。本当にありがとうございました〜

It was our first day on the tour, and we were able to visit all the main attractions of Yakushima. Thanks to our guide's explanations, we quickly learned about Yakushima. It was great. Also, the guide took photos of us at each location, so we have more pictures of just the two of us. Thank you very much.

ツアー参加が初日でしたが、屋久島の主な名所をマルっと回ることができ、ガイドさんのお話でサクッと屋久島の事を知ることができました。良かったです。そして、ガイドさんが各名所で写真を撮ってくださって、夫婦2人の写真が増えました。ありがとうございました。

The guide provided a lively and fluent tour of Yakushima. Their driving skills were excellent, and even when the rain was pouring down, I felt safe riding along the narrow Seibu Forest Road. I was able to see Yakushima deer and Yakushima macaques. The Okawa Falls were impressive, especially with the increased water flow due to the rain.

I wish I could have stayed a bit longer, but we were only at the falls for about five minutes before being told, "Let's go," which was disappointing. We had an hour for lunch, so I found myself with some extra time. I would have preferred if we could have spent another ten minutes at Okawa Falls. I heard that the island is about 100 kilometers around, but listening to the guide's knowledge made the eight hours fly by (even though I dozed off a bit since the scenery was repetitive). I'm really glad I participated. Next time, I want to come during the sea turtle nesting season.

ガイドさん、軽快で流暢なおしゃべりで屋久島を案内してくださいました。
運転技術も素晴らしく、時折雨が強く降る中、狭い西武林道であっても安心して乗車できました。ヤクシカ、ヤクザルにも会えました。
大川の滝が雨で水量が増していたこともあり迫力満点でした。
もう少し見ていたかったのですが、滝の前では5分くらいで「行きましょう」と案内され、残念でした。
昼食休憩に1時間あったので、時間をもて余しました。それならもう10分でも大川の滝で時間を取って欲しかったなぁというのがありました。島一周100キロあるそうですが、ガイドさんの知識に耳を傾けていると退屈することもなく(同じ景色が続くので居眠りしながらですが)あっという間の8時間でした。参加して本当に良かったです。今度は海ガメの産卵の時期に来てみたいです。

The tour guide's guidance was perfect. At each point of interest, they shared stories related to the local vegetation and facilities at just the right moments, and along the way, they told us surprising local tales, which helped us understand Yakushima well. I definitely want to come back.

Their attention to detail was also wonderful; they took photos for us and clearly communicated important points to be aware of once we arrived at each location, which added to our sense of security. Participating in the one-day tour gave us a great overview of Yakushima, and I’m really glad I joined on the first day of my arrival.

ツアーガイドさんの案内、完璧でした。
通過ポイントで、タイミングよく、そこの植生や施設にちなんだ話を盛り込みつつ、道中は地元ならではの驚く話をしてくれたりと、と屋久島のことがよく分かり、また絶対に来たいと思いました。

目配り気配りも素晴らしく、シャッターを押してくれたり、降りた先では注意すべき点をきちんと伝えてくれたり、安心感も加わり、1日ツアーで屋久島の概要が分かり、到着1日目に参加してホントよかったと思いました。

It was great to efficiently visit the main spots by car with a guide. The guide's explanations were thorough, allowing us to learn about Yakushima from various perspectives. The lunch was also delicious. However, it was a bit disappointing that we couldn't visit one location due to the detailed explanations.

It was unfortunate that we couldn't complete a full loop around the island due to road closures, but the guide made adjustments, resulting in a good tour. The driver also navigated the narrow mountain roads with stable driving, which made it enjoyable and安心.

車で行ける主だったところを、ガイドさんつきで、効率よく回ってくださり、よかった。ガイドさんの説明も、丁寧で、屋久島について、色々な面から、知ることができました。昼食も、美味しかったです。ただ、説明が詳し過ぎて、1ヵ所いけなかった所があったのは、少し残念でした。
通行止めのため、島内一週出来なくて、残念でしたが、工夫して、回ってくださり、よいツアーとなりました。ドライバーさんも、狭い山道も、安定感ある運転で、安心して楽しめました。

The tour using the Yakuzaru bus was a great way to easily see the spots.

It was unfortunate that the bridge on the Western Forest Road was damaged last August, and the notice about the road closure wasn't visible right away. Since I don't usually go to Inakahama, I felt a bit unsatisfied seeing the length of the sandy beach and the beauty of the sea only at Kuriuma Beach, where we stopped for a restroom break.

I heard that the road will be restored starting March 20, so I think it will be even more enjoyable to access Inakahama through the official route that goes through the Western Forest Road.

There’s also a course that includes seeing the Millennium Cedar if you choose the full-day option, which seems easier than renting a car yourself.

For those who can drive, a rental car might be a good option to explore at your own pace.

やくざる号を利用して、手軽にスポットを見ることが出来るいいツアーでした。

昨年の8月に西部林道の橋が壊れ、通行止めの告知が直ぐに見えなかったのは残念。
うみがめの産卵浜のいなか浜にも行くことはないので、いなか浜の砂浜の長さや海のきれいさを見るとしたらトイレ休憩で立ち寄った栗生浜海水浴場だけだと、少し消化不良に。

3/20から復旧するという事で、西部林道を抜けて、いなか浜へと繋がる正規のルート復活でますます楽しめると思います。

一日コースにしていれば紀元杉も見れるというコースもあって、自分でレンタカーするよりも手軽そう。

自分で運転出来る人は、ゆったり自分のペースで回れるレンタカーでもいいと思います。

西部林道ヤクザル、ヤクシカ会えました。

I applied because I don't have a driver's license, but the guide was knowledgeable and made the experience enjoyable. They took the time to stop at places with great views, and the pick-up and drop-off were smooth. I got to see deer and monkeys! The day after a tiring trek, I was able to spend a relaxing and fulfilling time, and I am very satisfied.

自動車免許を持っていないので申し込みましたが、ガイドさんが知識豊富で楽しく盛り上げてくださいました。眺めの良いところで時間を取ってくださり、送り迎えもスムーズでした。鹿や猿に会えました！
トレッキングで疲れた翌日、のんびり充実した時間を過ごせてとても満足です。

It was great to efficiently visit the highlights while listening to the guide and driver’s explanations, and the transportation to the accommodation was very convenient! The Yakushima Land in the afternoon had heavy rain, but that added to the extraordinary experience. The air was also incredibly refreshing, and it was very soothing.

ガイド兼運転手さんの解説を聞きながら見どころを効率よく見学、宿までの送迎もありとっても良かったです！
午後からの屋久島ランドは土砂降りの雨でしたがそれはそれで非日常感が楽しかったです。空気も凄く良くて癒されました。

It was rainy, but I was able to travel comfortably by bus to a nearby location for sightseeing. I was also grateful to be dropped off at my desired location on the way back. The sightseeing was enjoyable as well.

雨だったけれどバスで近くまで移動できたので快適に観光できました。帰りの場所も希望の場所に降ろしてもらえて助かります。観光も楽しかったです。

It was amazing to have a guide from morning until evening, allowing us to experience so much! Plus, it included lunch, which was a great deal! It was both inspiring and educational!

The new guide did a great job. I was impressed by their dedication, especially as they continued to provide guidance despite the heavy rain in the afternoon.

I participated in this tour from Yakushima Airport. I was worried about whether I would make it on time since there wasn't much time between the arrival of my flight and the meeting time for the tour, but the meeting place was easy to find, which was helpful.

At Yakusugi Land, you will be walking, but it's on well-maintained walking paths, so it's not really a mountain climb.

However, the road to Yakusugi Land is winding and located in the mountains, so those who are prone to motion sickness may need to take precautions.

屋久島空港からこのツアーに参加しました。
飛行機の空港着時刻からツアーの集合時間まで、間があまりなかったので間に合うか不安だったのですが、集合場所もわかりやすくて助かりました。

ヤクスギランドでは歩きますが、整備された遊歩道なので、登山というものではありません。

ただし、ヤクスギランドまでの車道は、山の中の曲がりくねった道なので、車酔いしやすい人は対策が必要かもしれません。

Due to the off-season, there were only two pairs of participants, including one solo participant. Our driver and guide, Mr. Adachi, had an extensive knowledge of Yakushima, and I felt like my understanding of the island expanded while listening to him. Additionally, the flying fish set meal for lunch was my first experience with flying fish, and it was very easy to eat and delicious. Thank you very much.

シーズンオフのせいか1人参加が二組の二人参加でした。ドライバー兼ガイドの足立さんは大変屋久島についての知識が豊富で、聞いていて屋久島についての知識が広がった気がしました。また、昼食のトビ魚の定食は、初めてトビ魚を食べたのですがとても食べやすくて美味しかったです。どうもありがとうございました。

I was unsure whether to rent a car, but I'm glad I chose the sightseeing bus. There are many narrow mountain roads, and there are cute monkeys relaxing on the road. If I had been driving, I would have surely panicked...

I think it was because it was the off-season and there were few cars, but I was happy that we could stop for the monkeys and deer. The monkeys and deer on Yakushima were smaller than I had imagined, and I was captivated by their cuteness.

Thanks to the guide's thorough explanations, I gained knowledge beyond just seeing the sights, and I came to love Yakushima, which coexists with nature. I recommend it to those visiting Yakushima for the first time!

レンタカーを借りるか迷いましたが、観光バスにして良かったです。
途中細い山道も多いですし、可愛い猿が道路上でたくさん寛いでいるので。私の運転だときっと慌てたでしょう…

オフシーズンで車が少ない状況だったからだと思いますが、猿や鹿がいると車を止めてくれて嬉しかったです。
屋久島の猿と鹿が想像してたより小さいサイズで、可愛さに心奪われました。

ガイドさんの丁寧な説明のお陰で、観光地をただ観るだけではなく知識も入りましたし、
自然と共存している屋久島が好きになりました。
初めて屋久島に来た方にはオススメです！
