This is a course where you can visit the two major attractions, Shiratani Unsuikyo and Jomon Sugi, in one day. The guide's personality and service were great, making for a very enjoyable trekking experience! I visited in March, and although there were some cold moments, we were warmed up with delicious hot pork soup during the trek, creating a lifelong memory!
This course seems to be quite challenging, to the point that the guides we passed would smile wryly, but with the help of our guide, all the girls were able to reach the top! However, the next day was a hell of muscle pain.
白谷雲水峡と縄文杉の二大名所を1日で回れるコースです。ガイドさんの人柄やサービスもよく、とても楽しいトレッキングでした！三月に伺い寒い時間もありましたがトレッキング中に暖かい豚汁をいただき、身も心も暖められ一生の思い出になりました！
このコースはすれ違うガイドさん達に苦笑いされるほど辛いコースのようですが、担当ガイドさんの助けもあり女子全員で登りきることができました！ただ、次の日は筋肉痛地獄です。

The guide taught us a lot about the formation of Yakushima, the diverse plants, and why it has such natural beauty that it became a World Heritage site. The air is very clear, and the water is so pure that fish cannot live in it. I received a lot of energy from the life around me. The plan to visit Jomon Sugi and Shiratani Unsuikyo in one day is originally quite hard and carries weather risks, but I received careful follow-up communication before departure, and they even considered splitting it into two days based on the situation, which showed great consideration. In reality, we faced harsh conditions with hail and snow, but they adjusted according to our circumstances and kept our spirits up with quizzes and various conversations along the way, allowing us to successfully complete the 12-hour hike. They also took on the role of a wonderful photographer and director, sending us many great photos and videos that night.
It was truly the best day ever. I definitely want to ask Tsugimura-san again!
縄文杉から白谷雲水峡までを1日でまわるという、本来、天候リスクもあり、かなりハードなプランなのですが、出発前から丁寧なフォローの連絡を頂き状況に応じて二日間に分けてくださろうとしたり、とても配慮あるご対応でした。実際、霰や雪が降る厳しい状況でしたが、我々訪問者の状況に応じて進んでくださり、その道すがら心が折れないようクイズや色んな話で盛り上がりながら12時間の登山を無事終えることが出来ました。写真や動画も、素敵なカメラマン兼ディレクターの役割までしてくださって当日の夜に沢山いいものを送ってくださいました。
本来に最高の一日でした。

I participated in a two-day tour and was guided by two different guides. Both guides had their own unique hospitality, and I was very satisfied.
For example, it was great that the guide helped those who were not good at trekking by advising them on where to step and what to hold onto. Also, when I had the guide who loved photography, I was grateful for the props they lent me and for taking beautiful photos.
2日間ツアーに参加し、2名のガイドさんに案内してもらいました。どちらのガイドさんもそれぞれのホスピタリティーがあり、満足です。
例えば、レッキング苦手な人に列の前に、どこを踏んだ方がいいとか、どこを掴まった方がいいとか、コツを教えてくれて良かったです。

I was told that it was tough for beginners. I have some hiking experience, but this was my husband's third time hiking. The students we happened to go with were beginners, and their smiles disappeared around the mossy forest in the second half. We managed to walk through it with our physical and mental strength, but it was incredibly exhausting.
There were photo spots here and there, and the guide took great pictures for us. Considering our stay in Yakushima, it was wonderful to be able to visit Ariake in just one day. It became a great memory of the trip.
In the morning, it was drizzling, but by the time we reached Wilson's stump, the sun was shining and the sky was blue. When we got to Jomon Sugi, fog rolled in, creating a mystical landscape. At Taiko Rock, we were told that fog would cover the clouds, but luckily we could see the entire view and light shone through. Around the mossy forest, the fog returned, revealing the beautiful appearance of the forest.
The sense of accomplishment was incredible, but I truly believe that you need to have a strong mindset to tackle it.
初心者にはつらいと言われました。わたしは何度か登山経験があるのですが、夫は登山3回目で。たまたま一緒に行った学生の男の子たちは初心者で、後半の苔むす森あたりから笑顔が消えてました。体力と気力でなんとか歩き切ることができましたがものすごくしんどかったです。
所々写真スポットがあり、ガイドさんがしっかり写真を撮ってくれました。屋久島での滞在期間を考えると1日で有明所を行けるのはありがたかったです。旅のいい思い出になりました。
朝は小雨だったのですがウィルソン株までは日が差して青空でした。縄文杉に行くと霧がかかり幻想的な風景ができました。太鼓岩で霧で雲もかかると言われましたが運良く全貌が見渡せて光が差しました。苔むす森あたりはまた霧がかかりきれいな森の姿が見えました。
達成感はすごかったですが、強い気持ちを持たないと本当にきびしいと思います。

We created this course based on requests from customers who wanted to visit Jomon Sugi and Shiratani Unsuikyo in one day. While it's manageable for those with good stamina, it can be a challenging course for beginners or those lacking physical fitness, so it's great to hear you were able to reach the goal.

The long journey to Jomon Sugi took 10 hours, but I was able to walk without getting bored for even a moment! I truly appreciate the guide's wealth of knowledge, the enjoyment of their stories, and the opportunity to see so many Yakusugi trees. I'm really grateful for the wonderful memories created. The miso soup we had in the cold was the most delicious I've ever tasted in my life.

It depends on the guide. At first, we just had a light greeting and then we walked along the trolley path with our group of six. It felt like it would never end, but finally, after about 2 hours and 30 minutes, we finished the trolley path. The climbing began! From here, the guide taught us in detail how to climb without getting tired and how to do it without putting too much strain on ourselves! Thanks to that, our tour reached Wilson's stump and Jomon Sugi early, allowing us to take our time to explore!! I honestly wondered how effective the no-fatigue climbing method would be, but when we arrived at Jomon Sugi, the other tour groups were panting, while none of our six were out of breath when we got there!! We walked back the same way, but we had the energy to chat!! The next day, I had a bit of muscle soreness, but I was still able to play a round of golf in Kagoshima!!! The guide had a unique personality, but the climbing techniques were very helpful! Next time I go, I will definitely request this guide again!

"Are you going to both Jomon and Shiratani?!" I was warned in advance by both the staff at the inn and the lady at the tourist association (laughs). I was quite nervous about how challenging it would be, but... I had an amazing time!! I believe a big part of that was thanks to our guide, and also the wonderful group of people I was with. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations for a guided mountain trip (I was just hoping to enjoy climbing with my friends), but I would highly recommend this experience to everyone considering it. The knowledge about the land, unique ways to take photos, and engaging games that kept us entertained and distracted from fatigue were fantastic. Ending with a "That was so much fun!!" was all thanks to our guide. Thank you so much!
<Bonus> Advice for future participants: Having knowledge about Studio Ghibli, especially "Princess Mononoke," will definitely enhance your experience! (I personally was quite unfamiliar with it, so I regretted not knowing more... If only I had prepared in advance...!)
「縄文と白谷どちらも行くの？！」と宿の方にも観光協会のお姉さんにも事前に脅されていました(笑) そんなにも大変なのか、とビクビクしながら当日を迎えましたが、、、本当に楽しかったです！！これはガイドさんのお力が半分以上、あとはメンバーに恵まれたのも大きかったと思います。正直なところ、ガイド付き山行はあんまり期待していなかった（一緒に参加した友達と楽しく登れたらな〜ぐらいに考えていた）のですが、今回に関しては行く人皆さまにおすすめしたいです。土地にまつわる知識、ユニークな写真の撮り方、山行を飽きさせない、疲れを感じさせないトークゲーム。最後に「楽しかったー!!」で終われたのは、ガイドさんのおかげです。ありがとうございました！

The long and monotonous path was quite challenging, but thanks to our guide who carefully taught us how to walk without getting tired, I was able to walk faster and with less fatigue than usual. It was really helpful to learn about my walking habits. We were also blessed with good weather and got to see the autumn leaves, making it the best trekking experience.

I didn't have high expectations for a half-day bus tour that only visits two places, but it exceeded my expectations. Just exploring Yakusugi Land allows you to fully enjoy nature. Additionally, I felt that the guide's level was very high. Their knowledge, communication, and consideration for the guests were all outstanding.

I'm really glad I decided to sign up for this course! Since it was my first solo trip in a while and I didn't have much mountain climbing experience, I was a bit anxious about visiting Shiratani Unsuikyo and Jomon Sugi in one day. We set off early at 4:30 AM, and while the starry sky was beautiful, I was nervous starting the climb since I needed a light to walk on the mountain path. However, our guide, Tsugimura, and the two other participants were very friendly, and we got really into the various quiz topics Tsugimura presented. We also took lots of photos and videos, making it a fun experience beyond just tracking. I still wonder if I really walked close to 40,000 steps in one day! Fortunately, the weather was great, and it didn't rain, which made the views from Taiko Rock and Jomon Sugi unforgettable memories. Thank you very much!
思い切ってこちらのコースに申し込んで本当に良かったです！久しぶりの1人旅かつ山登り経験もあまりなかったことから、1日で白谷雲水峡→縄文杉をまわることに不安を感じてました。当日早朝4時半出発で満天の星空は綺麗なものの、山道はライトを付けないと歩けずドキドキで登り始めました。が、ガイドの津曲さんや一緒に参加されたお2人とも気さくな方で、津曲さんからの様々なお題のクイズに熱中したり、写真や動画撮りをしていただいたりと、トラッキング以外にも楽しいことが盛りだくさんだったので、1日で4万歩近く本当に歩いたのかなと今でも思います！また天気にも恵まれて珍しく雨も降らなかったようで、太鼓岩からの景色も縄文杉等も忘れられない思い出になりました。ありがとうございました！

During this time of year, it is better to start from the Arakawa Trailhead, see Jomon Sugi, and then finish at Shiratani Unsuikyo (as most of Shiratani Unsuikyo is quite dark). However, based on the feedback from participants, we started from Shiratani Unsuikyo. (Walking through Shiratani Unsuikyo in the second half can be tough.)
Nevertheless, seeing the starry sky at the start gave me confidence that it would be a great day.
Walking both Shiratani Unsuikyo and the Jomon Sugi course in one day is challenging, but thanks to you and the other two participants, we were able to reach the goal safely.

I was picked up at 4:25 and started walking around 6:00, returning to the trailhead around 16:30, so it took about 10 and a half hours.
To be honest, I wasn't very moved by Jomon Sugi since I only saw it from a distance, but along the way, the guide provided various explanations and insights, we made detours to see the river, and they prepared miso soup for lunch. They also timed the breaks well and sometimes kept a good pace, so I think I wouldn't have made it without the guide.
I usually don't exercise, so before going, I only prepared by walking 15 kilometers twice and going to Takao Mountain, but I think those who aren't confident in their physical fitness should prepare to some extent before going.
4:25ピックアップしてもらい、6時くらいから歩き始めて、登山口に戻ってきたのは16:30くらいでしたので、10時間半くらいかかりました。
縄文杉は遠目に見る感じだったので正直言ってあまり感動はしなかったのですが、途中でガイドさんがいろいろ説明や解説してくれたり、寄り道して川を見たり、お昼にはお味噌汁用意してくれたり、タイミングよく休憩挟んでくれたり、ときにはペースよく進んでくれたりしたので、ガイドさんなしではたどり着けなかったんじゃないのかなーと振り返って思います。
普段運動もしていないので行く前に15キロを2回歩いたり高尾山行ったりくらいしか準備しなかったけれど、体力に自信のない方はできればある程度準備してから行った方がよいかと思います。

Since my job involves office work, I had been living a lifestyle with little exercise, so I was worried about my stamina before participating. However, the guide taught us how to walk in a way that minimizes fatigue, and I was able to walk all the way to the end. Additionally, as someone with a fear of heights, there were moments when I hesitated to move forward, but thanks to the guide's support, I was able to proceed safely. I truly believe I would not have reached Jomon Sugi on my own. The river and small waterfall that we were guided to, slightly off the trolley path, were also lovely.
I thoroughly enjoyed the great nature of Yakushima and appreciated the tips on walking the mountain paths and insights about nature. I am truly grateful to the guide. It was an experience that I will not easily encounter again in my life. Thank you very much.

I had a lot of anxiety on my first mountain climbing experience, but thanks to our guide, Tsugimura, who engaged us with quizzes and stories, I was able to reach the summit. Tsugimura shared many local recommendations, favorite spots, and souvenir shops that you wouldn't find in guidebooks, providing us with unique insights. Walking through landscapes that you can't encounter in everyday life, the power of the Jomon Sugi at the end was incredible. The atmosphere of the Yakusugi and moss along the way was also fantastic. The weather was good, the guide was experienced, and everyone in the party was nice, so I enjoyed the conversations along the way. There were also trolley paths and steep trails, and by the end, my legs were completely worn out, but it was a pleasant fatigue. Since it’s a tourist spot, I thought it would be easier to access, but it was harder than I expected, so I think it's important to prepare your physical condition and gear properly.
日常では出会えない風景の中を歩き続け、最後に出会った縄文杉の迫力。途中にある屋久杉や苔の雰囲気も最高でした。天気が良く、ガイドさんもベテランで、パーティーもみんな良い方たちでしたので、途中の会話も楽しめました。トロッコの道もあり、険しい道もあり、最後、足はもうパンパンになりましたが、心地よい疲れでした。観光地なのでもっと楽に行けるのかと思いましたが、思った以上にハードなので、体調や用意はしっかり準備したほうがいいと思います。

This is a place I always wanted to visit. I finally made it here.
The guide was very knowledgeable, took lots of photos for us, and even provided warm miso soup for lunch, along with a mat to sit on. I can’t thank them enough.
It was mid-November, and while it was chilly when we set off, it got hot as we climbed. Choosing what to wear was tricky. Even though it was sunny in the mountains, it started to drizzle.
I was glad to be able to rent shoes and other gear. I would have been slipping all over the place in sneakers.
I experienced some muscle soreness, but it was a wonderful trip. Thank you very much.
一度は行きたいと思っていた場所です。やっと来ることができました。
ガイドさんはいろいろ詳しく、写真もいっぱいとって下さり、お昼には温かいお味噌汁をいただき、ベンチに座るためのシートまでもっていっていただいて、感謝しかないです。
11月半ばですが、出発するときは肌寒いのに上り始めると暑くなるし、着るものが難しいですね。山なので晴れていたのに小雨がふってきたり。

Thanks to the tips on how to walk, I was able to visit Jomon Sugi without getting too tired. I also took a slight detour from the trolley path and got to see some beautiful rivers and small waterfalls. It was the best tour!

I had the pleasure of joining a couple in their 20s and another in their 70s. I am in my 50s, so with such a wide age range in the group, I thought that if we matched the pace of the 20s, it would be physically demanding, and if we followed the pace of the 70s, the younger ones might feel restless.
However, the guide's skill was evident. We had a fulfilling Jomon trekking experience from both perspectives.
The pace was adjusted considering physical capabilities, and unnecessary explanations were minimized to conserve the group's energy and spirit. Everything was calculated, allowing us to achieve our goals together. Additionally, the guide provided careful instruction on how to walk without getting tired.
As a beginner in mountain climbing, I only experienced mild muscle soreness when I returned, and the next day, I was able to go alone to the Yakusugi Land 210-minute course and Mount Taicho early in the morning. (The day before Jomon Sugi, I went from Shiratani Unsuikyo to Taiko Rock.)
The guide's respect for nature, discussions about how people coexist with nature, and walking techniques in mountain climbing made for a day that will likely influence my life moving forward.

20代？と70代のご夫婦とご一緒させてもらいました。私はアラフィフですが、年齢の幅が広いグループなので、20代に合わせれば体力的に…、70代のペースでは若い人がもてあますかもと思われました。
が、流石ガイドさんの腕です。
どちらの立場でもとても充実した縄文トレッキングとなりました。
体力的な面を考慮してのペース配分、不必要な説明を省きグループの体力、気力の温存を保ってくれました。全て計算されてみんなで目標を達する事が出来ました。
そして、疲れない歩き方の丁寧な指導。
私は登山初心者ですが帰ってからも軽い筋肉痛で済み、翌日は早朝から屋久杉ランド210分コース+太忠岳にも1人で行く事が出来ました。（縄文杉の前日は白谷雲水峡から太鼓岩）
ガイドさんの自然への敬意、雑談での人の自然での在り方、登山の歩き方など含めても私の今後の人生にも影響を与えるだろう一日となりました。
静かで力強い感動のある1日でした。

The itinerary took about 13 hours from departure until returning to the hotel. However, Tsugimura-san had an incredible wealth of knowledge about Yakushima and the Yakusugi trees, as well as about the inspiration behind "Princess Mononoke." The conversations were fascinating, and along the way, there were quizzes and games, making the mountain paths anything but boring. In fact, it was a very enjoyable trekking experience!
I also requested photo and video services, and there were plenty of great shooting spots, making it a memorable tour both in memory and record! I am truly grateful to Tsugimura-san for being my guide!
I highly recommend Tsugimura-san as a guide! Since there are aspects of photography and videography that you might overlook, I think it's a good idea to request assistance. For clothing, bright colors like red, yellow, and white, as well as fluorescent colors, work best for photos. Initially, I wore black and navy, which didn't photograph well at all… The early departure at just past 4 AM was quite challenging, and it’s best to go to bed early at night. For snacks, I recommend jelly-like items, as they help with thirst!
出発してから、ホテルに戻るまで、約13時間の工程でした。しかし、津曲さんは、屋久島や屋久杉に関する知識や、モチーフとされているもののけ姫に関する知識がすごく豊富で話が面白く、途中途中、クイズやゲームをしてくださり、全く山道に退屈することなく、むしろ、とても楽しい楽しいトレッキングでした！
写真&動画サービスもお願いしたのですが、撮影ポイントがすごく豊富で、記憶と記録に残るツアーにしていただきました！

服装は、赤や黄色、白色などの明るい色や蛍光色のものがいいです。とても写真映えします。
初めは黒と紺だったので、全く写真映えせずに困りました…。
朝4時過ぎの出発と、とても朝が早くて大変でした…夜は早くて寝るに越したことはないです。
軽食は、喉が乾くので、ゼリー状のものがおススメです！

I was picked up at Yakushima Airport, and after the tour, I was taken to my hotel, which was very helpful.

I had never gone mountain climbing since I was little, so I joined this tour feeling both anxious and excited. It was about a 12-hour hike to Jomon Sugi, Taiko Rock, and Shiratani Unsuikyo, but I was able to truly experience the great nature of Yakushima, making it the best experience! During the hike, Tsugimura-san taught us various things, and we were able to walk happily while playing games and quizzes. There were breaks along the way, and they adjusted the pace to match the participants, so even as a beginner, I could hike without any difficulty! Additionally, they took many photos and videos for us. The pictures and videos were ones we couldn't have taken ourselves, and even now that the trip is over, I'm still reminiscing about it. It seems that different scenery can be seen depending on the season, so I definitely want to participate again. Thank you very much!
小さい頃以来一度も登山をしたことがなかったので、不安な気持ちとワクワク感を感じながら今回のツアーに参加させて頂きました。

I was unsure whether to hire a guide, but I'm really glad I booked this tour with Tsugimura. I gained a lot of knowledge about Yakushima and experienced attractions that I wouldn't have noticed if I had climbed on my own. During the monotonous paths, we played games and quizzes, and thanks to Tsugimura, we were able to enjoy trekking the whole time. He took many photos and videos, and I'm looking forward to looking back at them after the trip. When I go to Yakushima again, I would like to ask Tsugimura to be my guide.
