London Afternoon Tea at Fortnum and Mason's Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon

Reviewed by: PieterG888, 2018/07/30

Expected a a lot more from renowned historic Fortnum and Mason's Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon. Gave voucher to Reception but when sat down some confusion with waitress and I had to find my Veltra email to show waitress package name that matched their Menu packages, Upon confirm we had to wait 30 minutes for food to arrive. Disappointed with wait time and not the high food standard we where expecting.

Graet Experience

Reviewed by: First London, 2015/10/23

I went with my friends at 1 pm. The restaurant seemed very bright and we were seated close to the window (guest next to us were dressed very casual, we were more like smart casual...).

First we picked our tea from the menu and the afternoon tea begun. When we finished we were offered a second serving of sandwiches and tea. We stayed there for about 2 hours.

There were 5 kind of sandwiches, bread was a little dry, but they were very tasty. Scones and cakes were delicious as well. If you are in London you should definitely sacrifice some time to enjoy a slow and relaxing afternoon tea experience.

Wonderful!

It was my fist afternoon tea and was very glad I picked Fortnum and Mason!
Cakes were too sweet for my taste, but sandwiches and scones were delicious. We got a second serving of sandwiches which I think was amazing.
Everything we couldn't finish was packed in a take away box for us.
Live piano performance in the background was very nice, made the whole experience more elegant.
Amazing hospitality!

If you are in London, you have to do Afternoon Tea.
We decided to go to the famous Fortnum and Mason.
The restaurant is on the 4th floor of the department store - there was also a piano player which created an elegant atmosphere. Voucher exchange was also very easy and soon we were taken to our table. Tea is unlimited, so you can have as many cups as you want.
The waiter also explained us what kind of sandwiches, scones and cakes we are having. You can also get a second helping of sandwiches, but it was already too much! It was all delicious but we couldn't finish, fortunately we could ask for a doggy bad and take it home.
It was more relaxed and casual than we though. Some people were wearing jeans. If you want to dress up a bit it wont be out of place, but it seemed more light and casual.
