What is the Setouchi Triennale?

It is a contemporary art festival only held every three years on islands located on the Setouchi Sea. A locally-sustainable celebration of art, architecture and local identity, the Setouchi Treinnale seeks to transform the region into a sea of hope, bringing focus to traditional lifestyles and connecting the Setouchi region to the world by shining a light on regional cultures. 2019 marks the fourth festival and is held at special venues on the islands of the Seto Inland Sea of Japan.

When is it held?

The festival is held during the spring, summer and autumn season:
Spring: April 26 - May 26
Summer: July 29 - August 25
Autumn: September 28 - November 4
