It was really nice that we departed in the afternoon and wrapped up by around 5 PM. Even though we participated in a bus tour, it wasn't a full day, so we were able to enjoy our own time and had a fulfilling day. The way the bus guide spoke, the speed of their speech, and their calm demeanor were all very pleasant and wonderful. I was glad to be able to efficiently visit so many places. The guide provided information in Japanese, Korean, and English. There wasn't much explanation beyond confirming the meeting place, meeting time, and schedule. Since the admission fee for the Churaumi Aquarium is included, I think it's a good deal. Personally, I felt that two and a half hours at the Churaumi Aquarium was enough, and the rest of the time felt a bit rushed. Especially at American Village, it’s so large that I thought I wouldn’t make it back in time if I stopped for a meal, so I gave up on that.

Since it was still February and quite cold, it was difficult to encounter the coconut crab and the Iriomote wildcat, but we did come across small scorpions, a rare patterned gecko, and a giant termite mound, among other creatures and subtropical plants that are not often seen.

I visited Okurayama for the first time in 40 years. The snow was deep, and I enjoyed the wonderful scenery. I could see Sapporo in the distance and even recognized the area where the Snow Festival takes place. Winter in Sapporo is the best!

We stayed overnight at Tojinbo Onsen and then traveled to Fukui Station via the Echizen Railway. It was the perfect tour to join after buying souvenirs and having lunch. Even for individual travelers, if you want to visit historical landmarks, I thought it would be nice to hear the guide's explanations, so I looked for a local tour and decided to join one that was just half a day in the afternoon. It was more wonderful than I imagined. I think the experience and emotions would have been less impactful without the guide.

It's great that we could enjoy sightseeing without worrying about our luggage, and it was also nice to hear local information that you can only get from a local tour.

I had booked an afternoon tour on February 8, but due to a record cold wave, I was discouraged by the cold and rain. When I requested to change the date, they responded very kindly.

The canoe tour the following morning became the best memory for my wife and me in five years. Our tour guide, Macchan, was very knowledgeable about Iriomote Island and taught us about the mangroves and fish, making it a very enjoyable experience beyond just the scenery.

Despite it being the day after the rain, the water was very clear, and we were able to see the fish. Handling the canoe was very easy, and even beginners can enjoy it.

After the tour, they also guided us to dining spots around Uehara Port. I would love to request their services again when we come back to Iriomote Island. It became a wonderful memory for my wife and me.
