After the heavy rain two days ago, I was worried, but the bus smoothly bypassed the disaster area without any delays, allowing us to enjoy the sightseeing. At Ichiran Ramen, it was crowded due to the holiday, and we had to wait an hour, but I was satisfied to have the ramen for lunch. The guide assisted us in both Chinese and Japanese. We participated as a family of three. In the morning, we went canoeing near the mangroves, and in the afternoon, we went snorkeling. Both were our first experiences, but the guide was friendly and taught us carefully, so we had no problems and enjoyed ourselves. During the transfers and activities, the guide shared a lot of local trivia and recommended delicious places, which was very helpful.
Moreover, the weather was great for both activities, and the water was clear, so we couldn't have asked for more. The snorkeling, in particular, was breathtaking with an abundance of fish and coral that exceeded our expectations.
We didn't bring our smartphones or cameras, but the guide took many photos from angles we couldn't capture ourselves and sent them to us the same day, so there was no need to bring them.
It was very tiring, but it was a fun day overall.

I participated in a mangrove kayak tour and a visit to Yubu Island!
The mangroves were surrounded by trees on both sides, making the waterways narrow, which gave a thrilling sense of adventure and was really enjoyable.
I got stuck in the mangroves a few times, but our guide, Rui, kindly helped me out and provided just the right amount of advice.
The visit to Yubu Island was great because we got to ride water buffalo to the island, which is an experience you don't usually get.

First of all, arranging this on your own would likely be impossible. Bus transportation is essential on the islands, and the logistics can be quite complicated and impractical, so joining a tour is the best option.
In Iriomote and Yufu, there are set routes and schedules, so you don’t need to plan everything in advance. Yufu is a small island, so if you follow the designated route, you can see all the attractions.
On Taketomi Island, there is free time for cycling, and being able to explore the island thoroughly during this time is crucial. The island has few large buildings and many similar streets, so it can be easy to get lost if it's your first visit. Additionally, restaurants and tourist spots are scattered around, so it's better to do some research beforehand. You can observe the training using the latest facilities inside the new, beautiful building, and the explanations from the cabin crew were excellent and easy to understand. Since my daughter was also a flight attendant, I could imagine what her training might have been like. I was able to see the activities of the people working at the airport through videos. In a room that recreated the inside of an airplane, I could touch and interact with things, which was fun. At the end, I entered a large screen and enjoyed the view from above as if I were traveling through the skies around the world. The building is large, so you will do quite a bit of walking. If you have difficulty walking, it might be better to refrain from visiting.

I wanted to see the flowers in Hokkaido, so I signed up for a tour. I participated in early September, and although the lavender season was over, I was able to see a wonderful view that looked like a beautiful carpet of flowers. The audio guide was great, but I also enjoyed the stories from the accompanying guide. I heard that there used to be many more tour courses before COVID, so I hope various courses will increase again in the future.

The guide, Chuchu, was very accommodating, and I was able to enjoy myself. Since I collect goshuin (temple seals), I was pleased to receive the goshuin from Jōshikimi Kumanoza Shrine, Amano Iwato Shrine, and Takachiho Shrine. Out of the 32 participants, most were from China, with 3 Japanese and 2 Koreans, but we all had a great time on this little trip.

I participated in a SUP and snorkeling session that ended in the morning at the beginning of September, when the weather can be quite changeable. The weather was nice, and during low tide, the sea sparkled, making the coral visible up close. I struggled to keep up with the SUP until I got the hang of it, but since it was early in the morning, there were few people around, and I was able to jump into the sea and enjoy a refreshing time.
I had a hard time finding a turtle while snorkeling and thought I might not see one, but I kept swimming. Thanks to the instructor who didn’t give up searching, I was finally able to meet a turtle leisurely eating at the end.
Since I had arranged for transportation, getting around was easy, and I got to hear interesting stories about island life and was recommended some delicious places to eat. I had some anxiety about being back in the sea after a long time, but from start to finish, Ricky's smile encouraged me, and my family was able to have a great time!
天候が変わりやすい9月頭に午前中で終わるSUPとシュノーケリングに参加しました。天気もよく、干潮で海がキラキラと珊瑚が近い距離に見えました。SUPは慣れるまでついてくのに必死だったけど、朝イチだったので人も少なく、海に飛び込んだり気持ちのいい時間を過ごせました。シュノーケリングはなかなか亀さんが見つからず、見れないかなーと思ってましたが、ひたすら泳ぐ泳ぐ。お姉さんが諦めずに探してくれたおかげで最後にのんびり食事中の亀さんに会うことができました。
今回は送迎をお願いしてたので移動も楽に、車内では島の暮らしや、いろんな面白い話を聞かせてもらったり、美味しいお店も教えてもらえました。久しぶりの海に不安があったけど、最初から最後まで担当のリッキーの笑顔に励まされ家族で楽しむことができました！
