The first day of the tour to Jomon Sugi was incredibly fun! However, on the second day, unfortunately, it rained at Shiratani Unsuikyo. During our drive there, the guide mentioned that reaching Taiko Rock might not be possible today. I understood that due to the typhoon, we had to take a detour and follow an irregular course.

In conclusion, we couldn't go to Taiko Rock or the mossy forest, and we ended up just circling around the entrance of Shiratani Unsuikyo for about an hour and a half. Of course, the guide provided explanations throughout.

After that, we were taken to a lunch spot that the guide recommended, and we disbanded around 11 AM. We had planned for a tour from 3:30 PM to 4 PM, considering the time until our flight home, and we had brought our own lunch. We booked this tour specifically looking for one that included transportation.

In the end, after disbanding, we had lunch at the restaurant the guide introduced us to, spent time looking at souvenirs until the bus departure, and then returned to the hotel by bus. The guide was encouraging to the individuals and groups we passed at Shiratani Unsuikyo, wishing them to be careful.

It seemed like many others were able to go further in, which made me a bit skeptical. Since there were others in our group who had to retire partway through the Jomon Sugi tour, I wondered if that was taken into consideration.

結論からいうと、太鼓岩もですが苔むす森も行けず、白谷雲水峡入口近辺をくるりと1時間半ほど周って終了でした。勿論ご丁寧に都度ガイドはして頂けましたが。
その後、ランチのお店をご紹介頂いてそこまで送って頂き、11時台には解散でした。
こちらとしては、15時半〜16時までのツアーで丸1日帰る飛行機までの時間で予定をしておりましたし、お弁当も持参で行っております。送迎付きを探してこのツアーも予約もしました。
結局は解散後、ガイドの方にご紹介して頂いたお店で昼食を食べ、バスの時間までお土産物を見て時間を潰し、バスでホテルまで戻りました。
ガイドの方は、白谷雲水峡ですれ違った個人の方か団体の方かはわかりませんが、その方々には、気をつけていってらっしゃい！！とお声を掛けておられました。
その他の方も沢山の方が奥まで行かれているように見えました。
ん？それなら自分達も途中までなら行けるのでは？と少し不信感をいだきました。
1日目の縄文杉ツアーで、途中でリタイアした方も同じグループで一緒でしたので、その方の足の具合を考慮されたのか？？と、勝手な想像で頭がいっぱいになりました。
個人的には縄文杉は2度目で、白谷雲水峡は今回が初めてでしたので、どちらかといえば白谷雲水峡をとても楽しみにこのツアーを選び、屋久島に行きました。
屋久島での雨は想定内でしたし、もし本当に雨が理由で行けなかったのなら、解散の16時くらいまでの他の代案はなかったのでしょうか？
1日分の代金も支払っていますし、すごく残念な1日になり、悲しい気持ちになりました。

ただ、楽しくご丁寧にご説明頂いた事には感謝しております。

Even while climbing, we received advice like "be careful here" and "walk on this side," which allowed us, as almost beginners in mountain climbing, to follow along with peace of mind. 必要なものは事前に調べていましたが、屋久島に到着した日に事前確認の連絡を頂きました。グループの予約でしたが、他の方の参加がなく私たちだけで完全貸切でした！正直体力に自信がなかったのでありがたかったです。4:20にホテル前にバスが来てくれ登山口まで他のツアーの方と一緒に移動。登山口で最初の朝ごはんを頂きます。トイレを済ませていざ出発！真っ暗闇の中トロッコ道を進みました。津曲さんは私たちが退屈しないようにもののけ姫クイズや屋久島クイズを出してくれ楽しくトレッキングができました。山道からはクイズをしている余裕もなくなり、転ばないように落ちないように慎重に着いていくことに必死になりながら行き5時間ほどかけて登頂！念願の縄文杉に会えました！！登っている時もここに注意してや、こっち側歩くようにとアドバイスを頂き山登りほぼ初心者の私達も安心してついて行けました。2日目の白谷は午前中天候が悪く時間をずらしての出発となりました。天候によって色々他の提案頂いてありがたかったです。時間的に太鼓岩まで行けなかったですが、ポスターによく載っている小川まだ行け大満足でした！もののけ姫の世界観で楽しかったです。総じて大満足のツアーでした！津曲さん本当にありがとうございました！！

He kindly mentioned, “The inside of Gyokusendo Cave is a bit dark and there are stairs, so please be careful not to slip.” Due to the rain, he quickly contacted the next destination in advance and changed the location on the spot, which was a great initiative.

We bought fresh fruits and rice at Itoman Fishing Port Market, and afterward, we enjoyed a feast of fresh seafood. The southern drive course was amazing; the rain stopped, and we looked up at the blue sky while eating ice cream.

We strolled around Shurijo Castle Park. It’s very unfortunate that it is currently under reconstruction, but I was very happy to be able to stop the car for a few minutes to take good photos of Shurijo Castle.

Time flew by so quickly. This was my first time participating in a VELTRA tour, and it was very convenient and allowed for a lot of freedom while traveling, which made me very happy!

今回は初めてVELTRAのツアーを参加させて頂きました,外国人にとってはとても便利と自由な時間を旅して大変嬉しいです☺️！

At first, we thought we would just charter a taxi and explore on our own, but it turned out to be great with the driver providing a guided tour. We learned many interesting things that weren't in the brochures. Although the arrival of the Shinkansen was delayed, we were able to coordinate and meet up. Even though it was a short time, we managed to visit all the places we wanted to efficiently. I felt sorry that we didn't have time for lunch (and didn't let the driver take a break either).

I was able to enjoy sightseeing not only on the course but also at local spots unique to the local drivers. The photos are from places outside of the course. We also visited Yamadoku Soy Sauce for a tour. The driving on the mountain roads was careful, and the guidance was at a comfortable distance, allowing me to enjoy my solo trip without getting tired. I definitely want to use this service on my next trip as well.

They provided a better travel experience by adapting to the situation on the spot. Thanks to them, we were able to efficiently explore Takachiho and Aso. Although we couldn't visit the crater at the top of Mount Aso due to its closure, the natural beauty of Aso seen from the car window was breathtaking. The magnificent scenery of Kusasenri, with the pampas grass blooming in autumn, shimmering and waving in the sunset, was very impressive. There was no worry about our luggage during sightseeing, as we were picked up at the hotel and safely delivered to Kumamoto Airport.
