I absolutely recommend a sightseeing taxi for up to four people. This time, it was a trip with four women to Kanazawa for the first time. Our goal was to eat delicious food and visit Shirakawa-go. Initially, we considered a bus tour, but we switched to a taxi tour. As a result, it was a great decision. The flexibility for getting in and out was excellent (it might depend on the driver), and since it was just us, we didn't have to worry about being noisy. Our driver was a woman of the same age, which made for a very satisfying six hours. When we requested to be dropped off at Omicho Market, she responded, "Of course!" with a smile. I requested to extend the stage for Hikaru-kun from Ishiyama-dera to Kyoto city for two people in their 80s, who are each other's in-laws. Two days before the tour, I was surprised to be told, "The guide is unwell and we're looking for another guide. Since we can't provide transportation, please make your own way to the bus stop if you have a rental car." It seems that the six-person tour was adjusted to include the two of us, making it eight. With more people, the time for restroom breaks and walking can be limited, so I think the other participants felt a bit of a wild card situation. The good thing was that the guide was very experienced and shared fascinating information about Yakushima, completely changing my previous image of the island. It was as informative as attending a seminar.

We canceled our visit to Shiratani Unsuikyo because it was flooded due to rain, and we were told we would have to turn back if we went. However, it cleared up in the afternoon, so I went individually to "Mossy Forest" and returned. The course was restricted due to landslides and fallen trees, and you can't know the local conditions until you go, so definitely make sure to get a map at the entrance. There was a fallen tree that suddenly appeared; I was able to crawl under it on the way there, but when I turned back, it had been cut down with a chainsaw or something. The response to trail issues is quick. If you have a guide, there's no need to worry.

ツアーの前々日に「ガイドが体調不良で他のガイドを探している。送迎できないのでレンタカーあるなら自力でバス乗り場まで来て」と言われ面食らった。恐らく6名のツアーに私達2名が振り分けられ8名になったようだ。人数多いとトイレの時間などで歩行時間が削られて厳しくなるので、同行ツアーの人にはワイルドカード感が半端なかったと思う。よかった事はガイドの方がベテランの方で、屋久島の事を興味深く教えてくれて、いままでの私の屋久島のイメージが覆された事。セミナーを受けたくらい勉強になった。白谷雲水峡は雨のため増水し、行っても途中で引き返すことになると言われたのでキャンセルした。午後から晴れたので個人で「苔むす森」まで行って帰ってきたが、土砂崩れや倒木でコースが制限されたり現地の状況は行ってみないと分からないので、必ず地図は入り口でもらいましょう（突然発生した倒木があり、行きはくぐって通り抜けたが、引き返したときにはチェーンソー？か何かで切られていた、登山道の対応は早い）。ガイド居れば心配ないですけどね。

Unexpected heavy rain from the morning. However, I left everything to the driver, and it turned into a fun trip. During the three-day weekend in November, I visited Kyoto, which was experiencing overtourism. My mother and I did a lot of research on how to navigate the crowded tourist spots. Both private cars and public transportation were extremely congested, and taxis were hard to catch, so we decided to book a private sightseeing taxi. We were finally able to secure one through Veltra a month in advance. Although it was a three-hour rental, we were extremely satisfied. Our driver was a seasoned professional who was very knowledgeable about Kyoto, well-versed in its history, and skilled at storytelling. He also knew great places to eat, allowing us to smoothly visit all the sights we wanted! Even in crowded Kyoto, we were able to enjoy Ryozenji Temple, Imamiya Shrine, and Kodaiji Temple to the fullest, and I’m really glad we used the sightseeing taxi. It became a wonderful memory. I toured Kyoto city with my mother. The driver was very knowledgeable, so if we communicated where we wanted to go, he would suggest the time allocation and the order of the places to visit. If we wished, he also provided a guided tour, and if there was time, he took us to some sightseeing spots we didn't know about. Since Kyoto has many tourists, I don't think we could have covered as much on our own. I especially recommend this for older people.

I used an 8-hour plan for my first trip to Okinawa. I wasn't sure about the distances to each destination and ended up packing too much into the schedule, but on the day of the trip, I consulted with our driver, Mr. Oshima, and we adjusted our itinerary. We had a great time chatting about Okinawa and learning interesting facts during the ride! We visited Shuri Castle and Kouri Island from Naha, had lunch at A&W, and then went to American Village, where we were dropped off at our accommodation. It was fantastic to comfortably tour the sights. I would love to use this service again next time!

I visited Kiyomizu-dera, Sanzen-in in Ohara, and Hōsen-in on a 7-hour course. Hōsen-in's garden looks like a framed painting. I enjoyed tea and traditional sweets while appreciating the garden, which was wonderful. The sound of the suikinkutsu was very soothing and refreshing for the soul. Although it takes time to visit Sanzen-in and Hōsen-in, the taxi ride was comfortable. Kiyomizu-dera was crowded, so we went early as suggested by the driver. On the way back to the hotel, we were also guided on a scenic tour of places like the Sanmon gate of Chion-in. I would love to come back again.

清水寺、大原三千院、宝泉院に７時間コースで行きました。宝泉院はお庭が額縁の絵のように見えます。お茶と和菓子をいただきお庭を楽しんでとても良かったです。水琴窟の音はとても良く心が洗われます。大原三千院と宝泉院は時間がかかりますがタクシーはゆったり乗れました。清水寺は混雑しており、ドライバーさんの提案で早い時間に行きました。ホテルへの帰りも知恩院の山門など車窓観光で案内していただきました。またきたいです。

Even during the busy lunch hour, we were able to enjoy delicious soba smoothly thanks to the recommendation of a hidden gem restaurant!

On our way back to Kanazawa city, our conversations led to many recommendations from the driver, making it a thoroughly satisfying trip for the whole family. Although the tour started with bad weather, we had a fantastic time, and I truly appreciate it. I would love to use this service again!

Our driver also recommended Kawanura for sweet red bean paste and Moroe-ya for traditional Japanese sweets, which we visited the next day! We were able to buy delicious souvenirs. Thank you very much!

I have visited Kyoto many times. Each time, I feel like I'm gradually experiencing the famous tourist spots. This time, I decided to indulge a little and have a different kind of trip. I took the Green Car on the Shinkansen! I booked a hotel two ranks higher, reserved a famous kaiseki restaurant, and hired a private sightseeing taxi.

The result is that while the Green Car is nice, the regular car is also sufficient these days. As long as the hotel meets a certain standard, breakfast might be the deciding factor. The meals were worth the price, and I was very satisfied to experience the depth of Kyoto's culinary arts.

Now, regarding the sightseeing taxi, I first shared my past sightseeing experiences and then left the rest to the driver. This was a great decision! First, we went to Sanzen-in in Ohara, which is difficult to access without a car, and it was truly wonderful! During the ride, the driver shared stories about Kyoto's history and the "complicated adult situations" of Kyoto today. I decided it would be more interesting to leave the rest of the trip in the driver's hands, and so it became an entrusted journey. I won't go into specifics.

However, when we got out of the car, my spouse and I said, "This was cheap! What a bargain!" Even though we initially thought we were indulging in a luxurious trip. "I didn't know there was this side of Kyoto." I plan to request this again.

今まで何回となく京都は足を運びました。そのたびに少しづつ有名な観光名所を消化する感じです。そして今回のテーマは少し贅沢をして今までとは違う旅をしようと決めました。新幹線はグリーンに！ホテルも2ランク上、著名な割烹も予約、そして貸し切り観光タクシーです。
結果はグリーンもよいですが普通車でも最近は十分です。ホテルも一定水準を満たしていれば朝食が勝負かもしれません。食事は値段相応で京都の料理人さんの奥深さに触れることができ大満足です。
さて観光タクシーまずは今までの観光経歴をお話ししあとはお任せしました。
これが大正解！まずは車でないと行き難い大原三千院へ、実に素晴らしい！車中でお話しいただく京都の歴史や現在にも及ぶ京都の「ややこしい大人の事情」のお話からこのドライバーさんにお任せしたほうがおもしろそうだと判断しその後はお任せの旅となりました。具体的には書きません。
ただ車を降りた時には夫婦で「これは安かった！お得！」と最初は贅沢な旅をと思いお願いしたのにも関わらず。
「こんな京都もあったんだ」　またお願いするつもりです。
本当に楽しかったです、歴史家ドライバーSさん。
