We gathered at 9:00 AM (Shinjiro Coast) and disbanded at 3:30 PM (Horarizumi Beach). Since I couldn't drive, I took a taxi in the morning, and for the transfers and to the hotel, I received shuttle service. It seems that taxis are hard to catch in Miyako Island, so it might be better to allow for extra time.
In the morning, we went snorkeling and encountered sea turtles and fish! I was amazed at how close I could see them. It was so beautiful. I personally have almost no swimming experience, and I could only put my face in the water by pinching my nose and closing my eyes, but I was glad I could see so much underwater.
I want to share some tips for beginners like me, as I got panicked and ended up drinking water or losing my sense of direction. 1) When clearing the fog from the snorkeling goggles, make sure to shake off the seawater well; I got a little water in my eyes at first. 2) If you laugh too much, gaps can form in the goggles, letting water in, so keep them a bit tighter. 3) Don’t overexert yourself while swimming to avoid gasping for air and inhaling water. 4) When you put your face in the water in a "attention" position and just kick your legs, you can move straight ahead more easily. 5) If you get too absorbed and keep your face in the water, you might not hear sounds, so occasionally lift your face to listen to the guide and check your position.
In the afternoon, we went to see the Pumpkin Cave. We kayaked to the entrance of the cave, and I think if you communicate with your fellow paddlers, you can make good progress (we almost got stuck a few times). The flow was: go through the entrance hole (you can't touch the bottom here) → see the pumpkin → get out of the water and climb up the cave → listen to the guide's explanation while exploring → dive from where we first climbed. Inside the cave, there were many other tour participants, and it was sometimes hard to find a place to step, but surprisingly it wasn't slippery, and I didn't fall or slip. It was cool, and I could feel the timelessness of nature; it was wonderful.
Regarding the pumpkin, here are some points to be careful about: 1) I think the path to the kayak and the sea is the maximum sunburn zone. Apply sunscreen generously. 2) When climbing the cave, a lot of water splashes on your face, which can be alarming, but try to stay calm, grab the rope, and climb slowly without rushing (I got a pretty bad scrape on my elbow because I panicked thinking, "I'm blocking the next person! Water on my face!"). It's better to take it slow or wear a rash guard. 3) When diving, I pinched my nose and closed my eyes as I fell. Since I was wearing a life jacket, I knew I would float eventually, so I stayed calm and waited until my face was out of the water.
I wrote a lot because I had quite a bit of anxiety, but I had fun from start to finish, was moved, and was very satisfied! Even though I can't swim, I gained confidence that I could do this much. If you have a real fear or trauma, that's a different story, but for those who are inexperienced and feel scared or anxious, I think it will surprisingly work out, so I recommend participating!

9:00集合(新城海岸)、15:30解散(保良泉ビーチ)でした。車の運転ができないため、朝はタクシー、間の移動とホテルまでは送迎していただきました。宮古島はタクシーが捕まりにくくなっているそうなので、時間に余裕を持った方が良いかもしれません。
午前はシュノーケリングで、ウミガメと魚に遭遇できました！こんなに近くで見られるんだ…と感動しました。とてもきれいでした。私自身泳ぎの経験がほぼなく、鼻をつまみ目を閉じないと顔を水につけられないレベルでしたが、たくさん水中を見ることができて良かったです。
パニくると水を飲んでしまったり方向が分からなくなって不安になるので、私レベルの初心者が気をつけた方がよいことを書いておきます。 ①シュノーケリングのゴーグルの曇り取りの時に海水をよく切らなかったせいで、最初少しだけ目に水が入ってしまったので、水はよく払っておく。②大きく笑うとゴーグルに隙間ができて鼻に水が入るので、ややキツめにしておく。③頑張って泳ぎすぎて息を切らして口から水を吸わないようにする。④気をつけの姿勢で顔を水につけて足だけバタバタしたら、早めに真っ直ぐ進めました。⑤夢中になってずっと顔を水につけていると音が聞こえなくなりやすいので、時たま顔を上げてガイドさんの声を聞き位置を確認する。
午後はパンプキン鍾乳洞を見に行きました。
カヤックで鍾乳洞の入り口まで行くのですが、同乗者と声をかけながら漕ぐと割と上手く進めることができるのではないかと思います。(数回座礁しかけましたが)
鍾乳洞は入り口の穴をくぐる(ここから足つきません。)→パンプキンを見る→水から上がって鍾乳洞を登っていく→ガイドさんの説明を聞きながら回る→最初登ったところからダイブ、という流れでした。鍾乳洞の中は他のツアー参加者も多く、足の踏み場に迷うこともありましたが、意外とすべりにくく、転んだり落ちたりはしませんでした。ひんやりしていて、悠久の自然を感じられて、素敵でした。
パンプキンについても、上と同様に気をつけるポイントを記載しておきます。①カヤックや、海までの道が最大の日焼けゾーンだと思います。日焼けを大げさに塗る。②鍾乳洞を登るとき、顔にかなり水がかかってビビりますが、できるだけ落ち着いてロープを掴み、焦らず冷静にのぼる。(次が詰まってしまう！顔に水が！と思って焦り、ひじにけっこう染みるすり傷ができました。落ち着いてゆっくり挑むか、ラッシュガードを着るといいと思います。)③飛び込むときは鼻をつまんで目を閉じて落ちました。ライフジャケットを来ておりそのうち絶対に浮くので、顔が水から出たと思うまで落ち着いてゆっくり耐えます。
かなり不安があったので色々書いていますが、最初から最後まで楽しかったし、感動したし、大満足です！泳げないけどここまでできたぞという自信にもなります。
本当に恐怖でトラウマがある場合は別ですが、経験なくて怖い、不安だという方でも意外となんとかなると思うので、参加してみることをおすすめします！

At 9 AM, we gathered at Shinjo Beach, surrounded by shallow waters and coral, where the waves were calm and perfect for swimming. During snorkeling, we were able to see small fish hiding among the corals, and to our surprise, we encountered three sea turtles just about four minutes after starting to swim! ^_^ It was a wonderful experience. Mao, our tour guide, shared various sightseeing knowledge with us, and he was warm and attentive to every detail. I would love to experience this tour again with my family.
朝9時に遠浅で珊瑚に囲まれた海は波も穏やかで、泳ぎやすいビーチ新城海岸で集合し、シュノーケリングでは珊瑚の陰に小さな魚を見ることもでき、泳ぎ始めて4分くらいでまさかのウミガメさん！(3匹)に会えました^_^
とてもいい体験でした。
ツアーのマオさんからいろんな観光知識を教えて頂きました。暖かくて細かいところまで気を配りました。また家族と一緒にこのツアーを体験したいと思います。

The weather was cloudy and not in the best condition. The waves were high, making it a bit challenging to maneuver the stand-up paddleboard, but thanks to the attentive staff, I was able to enjoy myself a lot. It was really disappointing that I couldn't see the sunset due to the clouds, but couples, groups of friends, and families were all having a great time. They provide water shoes and life jackets, so I felt safe even if I fell off the board. Even in mid-July, the sea temperature was very warm, so I didn't have to worry too much about falling in. The staff takes photos for you, so there’s no need to bring your own camera or smartphone. I was impressed by the thoughtful service, like being able to leave my car keys with them. The staff was energetic and attentive, which made me feel very comfortable! Their smiles were wonderful! I definitely want to try again on a sunny day next time.
天候が曇りであまり良い状態ではありませんでした。波も高くサップを操るのが少し苦労しましたが係りの方の丁寧なご対応によりとても楽しむことができました。雲があり夕日が見れなかったのが本当に残念でしたが、カップルの方や女性同士のお友達家族連れ皆さんとっても楽しんでました。ウォーターシューズやライフジャケットを貸していただけるので万が一ボードから落ちても安心でした。7月の中旬でも海水温度はとても暖かく落ちてもあまり心配する事はありませんでした。スタッフの方が写真を撮ってくれるのであえて自分でカメラやスマホを持っていく必要はございません。車のキーも預かっていただけるなど細やかなサービスに感動しました。スタッフの皆さん皆さん元気で気が利いて見ていてとても気持ちがよかったです！笑顔が素敵でした！次回はぜひ晴天の時にトライしたいと思います

I approached my first SUP with half anxiety and half excitement. After signing the agreement and receiving an explanation from the staff, I was ready to go! At first, I was scared and stayed seated, but surprisingly, I was able to stand up! Be careful if you fall, as your feet won't touch the bottom! I made sure to wear a life jacket! I generally didn't wear a mask! Since you'll get sunburned, I recommend wearing a rash guard! SUP during sunset was amazing! I would definitely do it again if I have the chance! With clear skies and during the low tide of a big tide, I was able to enjoy the best conditions. I had my first experience with stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) in a bay surrounded by wave-dissipating blocks, gliding over the crystal-clear sea. It turned out to be surprisingly easy, and I felt like I was riding on the Nimbus cloud with Son Goku. You can ride standing up or sitting down, both are fine. I even spotted a sea snake swimming below, which was a bit scary. Mashi took a lot of photos, and I have plenty of memories to cherish. I definitely want to try it again!
快晴の中、大潮の干潮時間と言うことで、最高のコンディションで楽しめることが出来ました。
波消しブロックの中の湾で、透き通るような海の上を初めてのSUPを楽しめました。
やってみると意外なほど簡単で、孫悟空のキント雲に乗ってる気分です。立って乗っても、座って乗ってもOK。
下を泳ぐウミヘビも見かけ、ちと怖かった(^^;
まーしーがたくさんの写真を撮ってくれて、思い出がいっぱい残りました。

The weather was nice, and the colors of the sky reflected on the calm waves of the sea were very beautiful. I was moved by the changing colors of the sky even after the sun had set. I experienced the Sunset SUP Tour. I had some experience with SUP before, but this was my first time doing it in Miyako Island. I opted for the round-trip shuttle service from Shigira Resort. It rained during the day, but around the start time, the skies began to clear, and I was able to see a wonderful sunset through the gaps in the clouds. While enjoying the beautiful scenery, I was able to take amazing photos, making it a highlight of my trip. This was a tour I would definitely want to experience again when I revisit Miyako Island. Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience.

It was my first time paddleboarding, but the staff taught me carefully, making it easy and reassuring. The sunset view was beautiful, creating the best memories! Even after the sun went down, I enjoyed various scenes as the ocean turned orange. I was very happy that the staff took many beautiful photos for me (they sent them on the same day!). It's been seven years since I last visited Miyako Island. I wanted to fully enjoy the beautiful blue sea of Miyako Island, so I decided to try a stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) experience. However, I thought the midsummer sun would be a bit harsh, and then I discovered the sunset SUP! I made my decision right away.
When I actually experienced it, I was moved by how wonderful it was, beyond my imagination! Since we gathered at 18:30, the heat and sunlight had eased, making it comfortable on the water. The beauty of the sunset was truly remarkable! I was so impressed to see the most amazing sunset.
7年ぶりの宮古島。
宮古島ブルーの海を満喫したく、sup体験をやろうと決めました。
しかし、真夏の日差しはちょっと厳しいと思っていた所、サンセットsupを発見！即決でした。
いざ、体験すると想像以上の素晴らしさに感動です！

This was my second time doing SUP. There were a few more people than expected, and since everyone has different levels of experience, it was a bit disappointing that we couldn't reach our original destination. However, the instructor was kind, and I enjoyed the experience overall! The scenery was absolutely beautiful. I would have preferred a bit more calmness during the photo sessions, but given the number of people, I understand. I'm satisfied with the quality of the photos! There are no showers available, but we were provided with 2 liters of water, which made it easy to rinse off the sand.

We gathered at Shinjo Beach at 8:00 and went snorkeling. It was a bit chilly in the morning, but once I got used to it, it was totally fine. I was really happy to see a lot of sea turtles! After a short drive, we went kayaking to a limestone cave. It was a mystical place, and I was moved by the greatness of nature. Jumping into the sea at the end was nerve-wracking, but it was also fun. The snorkeling guide was friendly and great! The cave guide was very talkative and reliable, which was nice! I didn't have a car and took a taxi to the meeting point, but I was grateful that they also helped with transportation during the trip and on the way back, even though it was an extra cost.

朝だから若干 海が冷たかったけど慣れたら全然平気だった。

I had an amazing experience feeling so close to nature. I really enjoyed the sea turtles and the Pumpkin Cave!! And above all, I underestimated the heat of Miyako Island (laughs). I went in a bikini, so I got really sunburned! I wish I had taken proper precautions and worn a swimsuit (laughs).

Thank you for today. It was my first time in Miyako Island and my first time doing SUP, but I received detailed guidance and had a lot of fun! The ocean was beautiful, and although the wind was strong, I was able to take some great photos, which became wonderful memories. The access from the hotel was good, and the parking was close, which was nice. I was also able to see the photos taken by the staff right away. I had always wanted to try stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), and even though it was the end of June, the heat in Miyako Island was intense. Since the tour offered a view of the sunset, I decided to join the evening tour.
To put it simply, it was truly the best situation! The changing shapes of the clouds and the colors of the sky dyed by the sunset were wonderful. I was able to enjoy a luxurious time, fully experiencing the sound of the waves and the wind on the sea.
With the instructor's careful guidance and a stable board, I was surprisingly able to move around freely even as a beginner. I also got to see a sea turtle come up for air and a bird called the black-tailed gull diving into the sea, allowing me to connect with various aspects of Miyako Island's beautiful nature beyond just the sunset. I was also happy to pass under the Irabu Bridge.
This is a tour I would love to join again!
supをずっとやってみたかったのですが、6月末とはいえ暑さが厳しい宮古島。サンセットが見えるということもあり、夕方〜夜に開催のこちらのツアーに決めました。
結論から言うと、本当に最高のシチュエーションでした！一分、数十秒という間で変化していく雲の形と夕日に染まっていく空の色がとても素敵で、波の音や風を海上で全身で感じながらゆったりと贅沢な時間を過ごすことができました。
supはインストラクターさんの丁寧なレクチャーと安定したボードで、初挑戦でも意外と自由に動き回ることができました。
ウミガメが途中息継ぎに顔を出したり、アジサシという鳥が海中に飛び込んでいく様子など、夕日以外にも様々な宮古島の素敵な自然に触れ合うことができました。伊良部大橋の下をくぐれたのも嬉しかったです。
また参加したいツアーです♪

A super romantic sunset paddleboarding experience, highly recommended!
Paddling along, feeling the summer evening breeze, and gazing at the distant Irabu Bridge and the gradually spreading sunset colors created such beautiful memories.
The biggest worry when watching the sunset is bad weather, but this place allows free cancellations until 6 PM the night before, which I give full marks for.
As for the paddleboarding, I tried it many years ago and ended up getting heatstroke, but in the evening, the sun isn't harsh, and the sea breeze is very pleasant, so I didn't end up sweating profusely. It was a really comfortable experience.
Even if you don't know how to paddleboard, it's okay; the staff will give you very practical advice while you're paddling. I, who have no athletic ability at all, managed to stand up in the end!
The best part is that the photos taken by the staff are just too beautiful! I couldn't help but post them. Haha.

看日落最怕是天气不好，这家可以在前一天晚上18点免费取消预约，这点我给满分。
然后是SUP，我很多年前划过一次，直接中暑了但傍晚时分的太阳不晒，海风也很宜人，也不会划得满头大汗，整个是很舒服的体验
不会SUP也没有关系，staff的小姐姐在划的时候会给出很实用的建议。我这个一点运动细胞也没有的人在最后的最后也站起来了
最关键的是，小姐姐拍的照实在是太！美！了！自恋到po出来。哈哈。

I visited Miyako Island in mid-June.
Unfortunately, the weather was gloomy and drizzly, so I couldn't see the beautiful ocean of Miyako Island at its best. However, I hoped for a miracle to catch the sunset and decided to try the much-anticipated sunset SUP.
Around 7 PM, I entered the water from the beach on the SUP! That time of day, the sky was orange and the most beautiful.
As I paddled hard and got a little further out, the sun was hiding behind the clouds...
If the weather had been good, I think it would have been the perfect situation.
The instructor taught us how to ride the SUP carefully.
My friend and I are experienced, so we were paddling smoothly and quickly. SUP may seem simple, but it's fun.
However, it does use quite a bit of muscle. It's more about the legs than the arms.
My legs were really sore... especially my quadriceps.
I didn't feel cold in my swimsuit, though.
Since you kneel sometimes, it might be better to wear yoga leggings or rash guard leggings.

宮古島の美しい海の本気を見ることはできませんでしたが、
奇跡的に夕日を拝めることを期待して
憧れのサンセットSUPに挑戦。
１９時頃にビーチからSUPでエントリー！
その時間帯が空がオレンジで一番綺麗でした。笑
一生懸命SUPを漕いで少し沖に出た頃には
ティーダは雲の裏に・・・。
天気さえ良ければ、
本当に最高のシチュエーションだと思います。
SUPの乗り方については
インストラクターさんが丁寧に教えてくれます。
私と友人は経験者なのでスイスイで
ガンガン漕いでました。
SUPて地味ですが楽しいです。
ただ、結構、筋肉使います。
腕というよりは足ですね。
足がとても筋肉痛になりました…。
前腿が…。
服装は水着でも寒くはなかったかな。
一応、膝ついたりするから
ヨガスパッツとか、ラッシュガードスパッツは
履いていた方がいいかも。
市街地近くの漁港からスタートで、
なんか、海の水はそんなに綺麗ではなかったのが残念でした。

I originally planned to participate only in canyoning, but I suddenly added snorkeling in the afternoon! It was so much fun jumping in from various spots and sliding down the river like a waterslide! When I requested to have the scenery photographed, they kindly took pictures for me! I received about 140 photos and I'm very satisfied!
Also, the staff were very kind and easy to talk to, which made me feel that just spending the morning on Iriomote Island was not enough, so I quickly signed up for an additional plan in the afternoon! Even though it was a last-minute addition, they responded very politely and promptly, which was really great! Next time, I would like to sign up for a different plan, like canoeing! 😊

また、スタッフの方がとても優しく気兼ねなくお話しできたので、西表島が午前中だけというのが物足りなく感じ急遽午後にも追加プランを申し込みました！急遽の追加なのにとても丁寧かつ迅速に対応していただき本当に良かったです！次回はカヌーなどの別プランを申し込みたいです☺️

I experienced SUP for the first time and it was so much fun! More than anything, our guide, Tacky, was incredibly thorough in his explanations. The conversations during the bus ride and throughout the experience were entertaining, making the time enjoyable from the start! During the experience, he shared information about the plants, and whenever we observed something curiously, he quickly explained it, which made me happy to learn more about Iriomote Island! At the end, when the waves turned against us and we were struggling to move forward, he immediately came to our aid and helped us, allowing us to finish comfortably. He was so cool! His attentiveness, communication, and consideration for others were truly wonderful, and he was a guide who didn’t seem like the youngest at all! I wish him all the best in his future endeavors! Thank you so much!

何よりガイドしてくれたタッキーさんが凄く丁寧に説明してくださって、バス内でのトーク、体験中の会話が面白くて移動の時から楽しい時間を過ごすことができました！ 体験中も植物の話や、私達が不思議そうに観察していたらすぐに説明してくれて西表島のことも色々知れて嬉しかったです！
最後波が逆になってて中々進まずで困ってたらすぐに助けてくれて運んでくれて安心して最後までできました♪

It was really great. Since it was my first time SUP, I was worried about whether I could do it well, but the instructor taught us carefully, and even as beginners, we were able to enjoy it! Both my friend and I managed to finish without falling off the board even once. They also took photos for us, and we got some great pictures! They showed us good photo spots as well. I'm really glad I signed up; it was a wonderful experience. When I go to Miyakojima again, I hope to do this again. If you ever visit Miyakojima, definitely give it a try!
