Due to the typhoon, I was the only participant, which made me feel a bit apologetic starting off with just one person in a large bus. The guide was very professional, and the driver always greeted us with a smile, creating a good balance between the two. The content of the tour was incredibly fulfilling, covering key points in locations that are quite far from Naha, which made me very satisfied. The sky restaurant for lunch was also in a private setting, and the view was spectacular, making it a place I would like to visit again. I recommend this tour for those who want to enjoy the nature of the northern region.

大きなバスに1名参加で申し訳ない思いのスタートでした。
ガイドさんは淡々と仕事をされておられましたが
運転手さんがいつも笑顔で声をかけて下さり、お二人で良いバランスが取れています。
内容はとにかく充実しており、那覇から距離がある場所でポイントを押さえており満足ができるものでした。

This is feedback regarding the guide.
My friend and I participated in a long-awaited Yakushima tour.
It was a group of six, and our bus was delayed due to various troubles, so we were rushed by the guide from the start.
We were told that if we didn't drink water, we would be made to retire, and when we fell behind, we were told we didn't have to rush and were moved to the back.
We were made to walk quickly to Jomon Sugi, and thanks to that, we safely arrived at Jomon Sugi, but while other guides were providing various explanations, ours did not do so.
On the way back, we wanted to arrive by 5 PM, so we couldn't take photos freely, and when my feet started to hurt and I fell behind, we were scolded for breaking the line. I felt blue.
I understand the guide's goal was to safely deliver us back, so I was grateful that we made it back safely, even if I had to concede a lot.
However, I thanked the guide twice at the end, but I was ignored. If you are a guide, regardless of how things went along the way, I think it's important to say a word of thanks at the end.
If guiding is your profession, I would like you to treat all participants equally; I don't think I can recommend this to friends who are considering joining.
A final word of appreciation for the participants would be nice. I envied those who said they had fun.

友人と2人で念願の屋久島ツアーに参加しました。
6人のツアーで、私たちのバスがいろいろなトラブルで遅れ、最初からガイドに急がされました。
水を飲まないとリタイアさせると言われたり、後ろにつくとそんなに急がなくてもいいと後ろに回されたり。何せ早く縄文杉までとひたすら歩かされ、お陰さまで無事縄文杉に到着しましたが、他のガイドは色々な説明をしてくれていましたが、そういうこともなかった。帰りも17時には着きたいと自由に写真を撮ることもできず、足が少し痛くなってきて遅れると、勝手に列を崩すなと怒られ、気持ちはブルー。
私たちを無事に送り届けるというガイドの目的もわかるので、私たちも100歩譲って無事に帰ってこれたことには感謝しました。
ただ、最後にありがとうございましたとガイドに2度も声掛けしましたが無視されました。ガイドであれば、途中がどうであれ、最後にはお疲れ様でしたの一言は声かけた方がいいのではないでしょうか？
ガイドを職業とするなら、参加者には平等に接してほしいものです、行きたいと考えてる友人にも勧めることができそうにないです。
最後に一言は参加者に労ってほしいですね。
楽しかったと言ってる人たちが羨ましかったです。

On my first trekking experience, despite having no prior mountain climbing experience, I was able to reach Jomon Sugi, which was a fulfilling achievement. While listening to our guide's stories, I was able to enjoy the journey with everyone in the group. I felt that this sensation, which can only be experienced by those who climb, is truly precious. On the way down, I was able to dip my feet in the river along the riverbank, reminiscent of summer vacations from my childhood, which made me very satisfied. There are others around me who want to visit Yakushima, so I definitely want to recommend it.

初めてのトレッキングで、山登り経験も無かったですが、縄文杉まで行けて達成感溢れる体験になりました。ガイドさんのお話を聞きながら、一緒のグループになった皆さんと和気あいあいと進む事ができました。登った人しか体験できないこの感覚は、貴重だなと思いました。下りは川べりで足を川に付けたりと、子供の頃の夏休みのような事もでき、大満足です。周りでも屋久島に行きたいと言っている方がいるので、是非お勧めしたいです。

My first trip to Yakushima was truly memorable. I believe the highlight was the trekking at Shiratani Unsuikyo, which the guide made an incredibly valuable experience. While it might be said that trekking in Shiratani Unsuikyo can be done individually, for someone like me who doesn't regularly engage in exercise (especially after the fatigue from the Jomon Sugi trek the day before), I was able to fully enjoy it thanks to the various lectures on how to walk on mountain paths, the history of Yakushima, and explanations of the unique plants and moss.

As the climbers I met during my travels said, "You will be called back to Yakushima" and "This is the entrance to Yakushima," I experienced the charm that makes you want to visit again and again with all my senses. I am grateful for this wonderful experience.

私にとって初めての屋久島旅行。そのハイライトと考えていた白谷雲水峡トレッキングを、ガイドさんには最高に価値のある経験にしていただいたと思っています。一般的には白谷雲水峡は個人でトレッキングできないことはないとされているのかもしれませんが、登山もとより日頃から習慣的な運動をしていない者としては（前日の縄文杉トレッキングからの疲労が取れきれていない中）、山道の歩き方から、屋久島の歴史、珍しい草木苔の説明まで、色々とレクチャーいただいたおかげで、最大限に楽しむことができました。

It was a very enjoyable and content-rich two hours.
I could hear the cries of the black rabbits among the animals that appeared in the pitch black, and the sky was filled with stars with few clouds.
On the forest road chosen by Mr. Kawashima, many black rabbits and Amami woodcocks welcomed us, and I was also able to see the rare Amami ishi-kawa frog.
While it can be affected by the weather and other night tours, I highly recommend this tour guided by Mr. Kawashima for 1 to 2 people.

I have always wanted to see Jomon Sugi, which is said to be visible only to those who are called. This time, that opportunity finally came! The round trip trek to Jomon Sugi took 10 hours. Walking through the rugged forest with its uniquely resilient cedar trees in a world of exceptional environment, I was occasionally hit by rain that felt like a waterfall, accompanied by thunder. However, thanks to our guide's careful and precise guidance, I was able to meet the long-awaited Jomon Sugi. When we arrived, the rain had temporarily stopped, and the magnificent and robust sight of the cedar was breathtaking. A sense of camaraderie developed among the members of the tour, and I felt a great sense of accomplishment.

The next day, at Shiratani Unsuikyo and Taiko Rock, the rain I had worried about had cleared up, and since the distance was shorter, I was able to thoroughly enjoy the forest while listening to the guide's stories. The mystical moss-covered forest truly felt like the model for Princess Mononoke. The last 10 minutes heading to Taiko Rock reminded me of the hellish trek from the previous day, but the spectacular view from Taiko Rock, along with the miraculous appearance of a double rainbow, doubled my excitement. The guide's detailed explanations and the fun stories that made me forget my fatigue made the tour fly by.

I walked more in these two days than I ever have before, but I was able to spend an unforgettable time filled with memories that I will cherish for a lifetime. I definitely want to recommend this experience to my friends and acquaintances when I return.

呼ばれた人しか見られないとも言われている縄文杉をいつか見に行きたくて…今回その機会が訪れました！縄文杉まで往復10時間のトレッキング。世界でも特異な環境にあって逞しく植生した杉や険しい森を歩く中、時折雷が鳴り滝行？かと思うほど雨に打たれましたが、ガイドさんの丁寧且つ的確な案内のお陰で念願の縄文杉に会うことが出来ました。着いた時には一時的に雨も上がり壮大でたくましい杉の姿は圧巻でした。同じツアーの方達とも戦友愛みたいなものが生まれ(笑)達成感でいっぱいです。
翌日の白谷雲水峡〜太鼓岩は、心配していた雨も上がり距離も短いことから、ガイドさんの話を聞きながら森の中をじっくり堪能することが出来ました。幻想的な苔むす森は、もののけ姫のモデルになった場所というのも納得です。太鼓岩へ向かう最後の10分間は、前日の地獄○丁目を思い出しましたが、太鼓岩から眺める絶景に加え、奇跡的にダブルレインボーも現れ感激も倍増しました。ガイドさんの詳しい説明やポイント事に写真を撮って頂く等、また疲れを忘れさせる楽しいお話のお陰でアッという間のツアーでした。
この2日間で過去にないくらい歩きましたが、一生忘れることのない思い出深い時間を過ごす事ができました。帰ってから友人、知人にも是非勧めたいと思います。

The guide should have come to call us in advance, asking, "Is anyone from XX Tour here?" Other companies were announcing their groups. 【Oishi Forest Park】
There are four courses: red, yellow, blue, and green, but I was told I couldn't go to the green Gajumaru Forest course. I wanted to go there, but I gave up. I wish the tour details had been written more clearly.

赤黄青緑の4コース有るが、緑のガジュマル森林コースに行けないと言われた。
そこに行きたかったのにと思いつつ諦める。

I felt that even though it wasn't raining, some measures were necessary as the clothing was a bit cold.

It was my first time in Shiretoko, and I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but the guide's explanations and support were pleasant, making it a quick and enjoyable experience. In the end, I was lucky enough to see a wild brown bear as well. I would love to go again.

One of my favorite idol group's members saw the Jomon Sugi and said it became a turning point for them, and I've always wanted to visit this place. After getting permission from my family and taking time off work, I set out on a solo trip. I chose this place because it mentioned that solo participants were welcome. The shuttle service to the accommodation was truly appreciated. I had quite a bit of confidence in my physical strength since I exercise regularly, but the round trip of about 10 hours was really tough. However, the guide and other participants were kind enough to talk to me, which made me very happy. I felt a sense of camaraderie that motivated me to keep going. The guide even gave us miso soup for lunch, and I was really touched by their kindness. The moment I saw the Jomon Sugi at the summit was truly a happy time. It was the best trip, blessed with good weather. I'm sore all over, but I really feel like this could be a turning point for me.

推しのアイドルグループの１人が縄文杉を見て「変わるきっかけになった」と言っていて以前からずっと行きたいと考えていた場所でした。家族に許可をもらい仕事も休みを貰えたので１人旅に出ました。１人参加歓迎と書いてあったのでここにしました。宿までの送迎は本当にありがたかったです。日頃から運動をしていたので体力にはけっこう自信があったのですが、往復約10時間はとてもきつかったです。ですが１人参加の私にガイドさんや他の参加者さんが心優しく話かけてくれてとても嬉しかったです。仲間意識が芽生えて頑張れます。ガイドさんがお昼にはお味噌汁をくれて本当に人の優しさに感激しました。頂上で縄文杉を見た瞬間は本当に幸せな時間でした。天候にも恵まれた最高の旅でした。全身筋肉痛ですが、本当に何か変わるきっかけになりそうな気がします。

The weather was great and the conditions were perfect. The guide was very kind and attentive, making the journey feel very quick. Since the equipment was mostly rental, there was nothing lacking. I brought a portable toilet just in case, but since I didn't use it, I think it might be fine even if you're not on the Jomon Sugi course. The guide took a lot of photos, and I really appreciated them, so I would love to try a different course again!

Thanks to the local veteran guide, I was able to participate with peace of mind and have fun. After the trolley path, the mountain trail was tougher than I imagined, but seeing Jomon Sugi was incredibly moving and gave me a great sense of achievement! It was clear weather in early July, and I hardly noticed any bugs, plus there were no bears, so the nature was truly beautiful and a wonderful space that made me want to lie down anywhere! There were so many highlights, so it was definitely the right choice to hire a guide. It's a lifelong memory!

I appreciated that this tour allows solo participants and provides transportation to and from the hotel, which is a rarity among many tours where participants must make their own way to the meeting point. Our guide, Mr. Kawashima, drove slowly while pointing out various creatures. During the tour, we encountered 5 to 6 Amami rabbits, observing them eating grass and fallen leaves, as well as climbing the slopes into the forest. We also saw the Ryukyu scops owl, the Ryukyu rat, the Ryukyu wild boar, and two types of frogs.

We learned about animal communication through the sounds of the rabbits and the different calls of the Ryukyu scops owl, as individuals responded to each other from a distance. Additionally, we were moved by the breathtaking starry sky when we got out of the car! Under the stars, a few fireflies were also dancing around.

Mr. Kawashima explained everything in a calm and pleasant manner, making for a very valuable and luxurious experience. It seems that reports of rabbits being killed by cars are not uncommon. I believe that the creatures and scenery we encounter can vary depending on the weather and the day's circumstances, but this tour not only allows us to be amazed by precious wildlife and beautiful starry skies but also encourages thoughts on the importance of protecting wildlife, ecosystems, and nature, while hoping for a harmonious balance with tourism and development. It’s a tour that also provides insight into the background of the area being designated as a World Heritage site!

ひとり参加ができること、集合場所に各自で向かうツアーが多いなか、宿泊しているホテルへの送迎があることが有り難かったです。
ガイドの川島さんが車をゆっくり走らせながら生き物を見つけて教えてくださいます。ツアー中、本命のアマミノクロウサギは5〜6羽に出会うことができ、草や落葉を食べる様子や山の斜面を登り森に入って行く姿、他にもリュウキュウコノハズク、ケナガネズミ、リュウキュウイノシシ、2種類のカエルも見ることができました。
ウサギの鳴き声、リュウキュウコノハズクの種類の違う鳴き声に離れた場所にいる個体同士が鳴き声に呼応し合う様子など耳からも生き物のコミュニケーションを知ることができました。
また、途中で車を降りて満天の星空にも感動！星空の下、数匹のホタルも舞っていました。
ガイドの川島さんは心地よい穏やかな語り口で丁寧に説明してくださり、そのお話も含めてとても貴重で贅沢な時間が過ごせました。ウサギが車に轢かれて死亡する報告も少なくないようです。天候やその日の縁で出会う生き物や景色も異なると思いますが、貴重な生き物やきれいな星空に感動するだけでなく、生き物や生態系・自然を守ることと、観光や開発が上手く調和してほしいなと感じたり、世界遺産に登録された背景も知ることができるツアーです！

Upon arriving at Yakushima, they helped me adjust the shoe size during the rental item handover at the airport, and even though my hotel was different, they assisted with luggage storage and transportation to another hotel, which was very helpful.

However, the guide was quite unresponsive, and the rental raincoat did not protect against the rain at all, leaving my T-shirt completely soaked. It was at a level where I couldn't understand why I even rented it.

屋久島到着日の空港でレンタル品の受け渡しで靴のサイズを合わせてくれたり、送り迎えでホテルが違うにも関わらず、荷物の預かりと別ホテルへの送迎もしていただけてとても助かった。

ただ、ガイドさんは塩対応だし、レンタルのレインコートは全く雨を凌げず中のTシャツまでべったべた。
さすがに何のためにレンタルしたのか分からないレベルでした。

It was my first time seeing Jomon Sugi. I had heard that the round trip distance was 22 kilometers horizontally and 750 meters vertically, which sounded quite challenging, so I trained to build my stamina. If you have the stamina to comfortably run about 10 kilometers in an hour, you should have no problem climbing. There were five people in my party besides the guide and myself, but unfortunately, one person had to retire midway due to a cramp (possibly a muscle strain?), so I recommend preparing yourself physically to some extent.

I brought my own clothes and towels, but I rented a backpack, hiking boots, and a raincoat from the tour, which was sufficient. If you prepare everything yourself, light gear should probably be fine, but the ground is very slippery, so hiking boots are a must. I also requested a lunch box from the tour, and while I think it was just ordinary in taste, the scenery made it taste better. I prepared for cold and insect protection, but those might not have been necessary. I climbed at the end of June, and the raincoat was sufficient for warmth; there were hardly any bugs, and there were no leeches (I was quite worried about that...).

Considering the time of year, it was miraculous to have good weather, and it was truly an emotional experience. (The guide and the party were great too!) Seeing it with my own eyes and feeling the impact of the experience is irreplaceable compared to images online. I highly recommend it!

装備は服とかタオルだけ自分で持っていき、レンタルでリュックと登山靴とレインコートをツアーで借りましたが十分でした。全て自前で用意する場合も軽装で多分大丈夫ですが、足元は非常に滑るので、登山靴はマストです。お弁当もツアーでお願いしましたが、本当は普通の味だと思うのですが景色の分美味しく感じました。他にも防寒や防虫等備えましたが、要らなかったかも。6月末に登りましたが、防寒はレインコートで十分、虫もほとんど居らず、ヒルは出てきませんでした。（大分、心配してたんだけど。。。）
天気に恵まれたのは時期を考えると奇跡的でしたが、本当に感動的な体験でした。（ガイドさんもパーティーも良かった！）ネットの画像ではなく、自分の目で見て、迫力を感じる経験は他に代えがたいと感じました。是非オススメします！

At the end of June, I went trekking in the middle of the rainy season. Due to rain and thunder, we had to stop because it was deemed unsafe. Other trekking groups continued, so I felt that who the guide was would be quite important.

I also heard that there have been recent fatal accidents, which has made everyone more cautious. If you really want to go trekking, it's better to set aside an extra couple of days as a backup.

I was really disappointed because I went there with this purpose in mind. If they had informed us in advance that there was a possibility of postponing to the next day, I could have adjusted my itinerary accordingly.

It may be a cynical view, but I couldn't help but feel that the guide might not want to go out in bad weather.

これを目的に行ったのに本当に残念です。事前に翌日に延期になる可能性を伝えてくれてたらそれ用に旅程を組んだのに。

A few years ago, I had been planning to challenge myself with trekking to "Jomon Sugi" in Yakushima. Since I was traveling alone, I requested a guide. At first, I was filled with anxiety about whether I could complete the approximately 10-hour journey, but miraculously, the weather was good, and as I walked, I became excited and enjoyed myself. The guide was truly wonderful. Thanks to the guide, I was able to walk with peace of mind, and they provided timely guidance while maintaining a good balance of pace and rest. Along the way, the guide shared stories that added value to my life, allowing me to enjoy the trekking for 10 hours without getting bored. On the way back, my feet started to hurt quite a bit, but every time I overcame a challenge, the guide genuinely celebrated with me, which was so moving it almost brought me to tears. Yakushima is an incredible place. It offers emotions and joys (and challenges) that you can never experience in everyday life. Although it's said that you should visit Yakushima at least once in your lifetime, it's a place I want to visit again and again. I became more curious about Yakushima. I can't mention names, but I would like to take this opportunity to thank the guide who took such good care of me.
