Although I usually don't exercise much, I signed up casually, but the 22 kilometers and 10 hours and 15 minutes of perfect climbing were so hard that I almost had to retire midway. Thanks to everyone's encouragement and our local main guide, Taniyama, who carried my luggage, I was able to complete it safely! I'm just so grateful! ♪( ´▽｀)

Yakushima has rain two-thirds of the year, and the mountain weather reportedly has a low rate of clear skies, but fortunately, it was a beautiful sunny day! ♪ I canceled the half-day trip to Shiratani Unsuikyo the next day due to a sore throat and heavy rain in the morning, but it was still a satisfying experience. Thank you very much.

普段、ほとんど運動をしていないのに、氣軽に申し込んでしまいましたが、22キロ、10時間15分の完璧なる登山で、あまりにハードだった為、途中でリタイアしそうに。皆さんの励ましと、地元出身のメインガイドのタニヤマさんがわたしの荷物を背負って下さったお陰で、無事にコンプリートできました！もう感謝でしかありません♪( ´▽｀)

屋久島は年間2/3が雨で、しかも山の天候は晴天率が低いらしいのですが、その日は快晴だったのもさいわいでした♪
翌日の白谷雲水峡半日の方は喉の痛みに加え、朝方豪雨だったこともありキャンセルしましたが、充分満足できる体験となりました。ありがとうございました。

The guide was a great person, and I was able to walk comfortably. Even though I usually lack exercise and had surgery and hospitalization a month ago, the course was manageable for me. Next time, I would like to try going to Taiko Rock.

The Jomon Sugi trekking tour took about 10 hours round trip, and I was filled with anxiety, but having a guide made me feel at ease. The guide provided detailed explanations at key points, so I was able to walk without getting bored.

Thank you for putting up with the chatter of the three older ladies and our declining energy levels as we got tired! They also prepared warm drinks during breaks, and brought three foldable cushions, carrying them on their small bodies along with big backpacks... I can only express my gratitude.

They took a lot of photos and later provided the data, which was very helpful! Although it was a tour in heavy rain, it became a great memory. I'm really glad we had a guide due to the bad weather. (We were able to walk a different course than usual for safety reasons.)

I highly recommend this tour with a guide for first-timers!

縄文杉トレッキングツアー、往復で10時間かかるとのことで不安でいっぱいでしたが、ガイドさんが付いていたので安心でした。要所要所で丁寧な説明もしてくれるので退屈せずに歩くこともできました。
おばちゃん3人のおしゃべりや疲れてきてだだ下がりのテンションにもつきあってくれてありがとう！休憩時には温かい飲み物も用意してくれてありましたし、折りたたみ式の座布団も3人分、小さい体に大きなリュックを背負って持ってきてくれて･･･感謝しかありません。
写真もたくさん撮ってくれてあとでデータでくれたので助かりました！
大雨の中のツアーでしたが、それもいい思い出となりました。
悪天候だったのでガイドさんがいてくれてほんとによかったです。
(安全確保のため、通常時とは違うコースを歩いたりできたので)

It was my first time canoeing, but I was able to experience it with peace of mind. While paddling the canoe, I received explanations about many creatures and plants, and everything was new to me, which was very interesting.

はじめてのカヌーでしたが安心して体験することができました。
カヌーを漕ぎながら沢山の生き物や植物の説明をして頂き、はじめてみるものばかりで、興味ぶかかったです。

It rained in the morning, and my heart felt a little... We embarked on a long-awaited project to experience the heart power of the Wilson tree. We are filled with gratitude for our guide, who quietly guided us despite our noisy group. We took happy photos with the Wilson tree. The guide was considerate, helping us appreciate the Jomon cedar and the Great Cedar, and taught us about their history. We learned about the names and origins of the plants, and it was quite enlightening.

The tips on climbing and how to equip ourselves were eye-opening, and the love for Yakushima was abundant. Thank you very much.

I had some concerns about taking my elementary school-aged and preschool children, but the whole family had a great time! It was our first experience with canoeing, and we were able to paddle right away, which made everyone fall in love with canoeing. The guide was very kind, and the explanations were fascinating, making it a valuable experience. I highly recommend it!

小学生と年長の子どもを連れての体験で不安もありましたが、家族みんなとても楽しむ事が出来ました！
カヌーも進む事が出来るのか？はじめての体験でしたが乗ってすぐに進むことが出来、みんなカヌーが大好きになりました。ガイドさんもとても親切で説明もとても興味深く貴重な体験をすることができました。すごくおススメです！

I felt a sense of professionalism as they kindly accommodated changes to the meeting place and specified the disbanding time. Despite the heavy rain, I had a great time. Next time, I would like to go on a full-day course.

I walked and walked, climbed and climbed. There were moments when my spirit felt like giving up, but when I faced Jomon Sugi, everything else faded away. I was simply overwhelmed by the presence of Jomon Sugi.

歩いて歩いて登って登って。心がくじけそうになりましたが、縄文杉に対面するとすべてが吹っ飛びます。ただただ縄文杉の存在感に圧倒されました。

The walking time was long and quite tiring, but our guide, Mr. Kobayashi, was very considerate of our pace, which was a great help. We also took breaks at just the right moments, and somehow we managed to return at the end having enjoyed ourselves.

歩く時間が長く大変疲れましたが、ガイドの小林さんが歩くペースを考えて下さり大変助かりました。休憩も絶妙なタイミングで取って頂きなんとか最後まで楽しく戻って来る事が出来ました。

Due to the heavy rain since the previous day, there were warnings from the morning, and I was quite anxious from the start. However, the warnings were lifted, and we began at the Arakawa trailhead. It seems that starting from here is tougher, but I trusted the judgment of our experienced guide. It was extremely cold because of the rain, but the miso soup that the guide provided was truly comforting.

Completing two major courses at once was certainly hard, and I dealt with muscle pain for two days, but once the pain subsided, I realized it had been a wonderful experience. Perhaps due to the rain, the trekking lasted a total of 12 hours, but I'm glad I went. This course would be impossible without a guide, as it would break your spirit! (laughs)

前日からの土砂降りで朝から警報が出ており、スタートからヒヤヒヤしましたが、なんとか警報も解除され、荒川登山口からスタート
こっちからスタートするほうがしんどいらしいですが、ベテランガイドさんの判断にお任せ
雨が降っていたのでめちゃくちゃ寒かったですが、ガイドさんの出して下さったお味噌汁が本当に染み渡りました
いっぺんに2大コースを済ませる分、当然ハードで、2日間筋肉痛を引きずりましたが、痛みが引いてやっと、素晴らしい体験になったなぁと思います
雨のためか計12時間のトレッキングになりましたが、行けて良かった
このコースはガイドさん無しだと心が折れるので無理ですね 笑

I had a great trip with my dad, and we enjoyed the climb. Thank you very much for taking us to the airport. My dad, who is 74 years old, was satisfied to see the Yakusugi trees. Personally, I prefer a bit more challenging climbs, so next time I want to summit Mount San.

This was my first time in Yakushima. It was late March, so it wasn't high season, but I still enjoyed it. The weather was bad and humid, but it seems that the rocks in Yakushima are not slippery even when wet, so I didn't struggle much with the hiking. Personally, I thought Taiko Rock and the Mossy Forest were the best. I enjoyed the sacred atmosphere in the conditions after the rain. If I were to visit again, I think I would skip the Yakusugi.

今回が初めての屋久島でした。3月下旬とハイシーズンではありませんでしたが、普通に楽しめました。天気が悪くジメジメしてましたが、屋久島の岩は濡れても滑りにくいみたいでそこまで登山に苦労はしませんでした。
個人的には太鼓岩と苔むすの森が最高でした。雨上がりのコンディションで神聖な雰囲気を楽しめました。
またリピするなら屋久杉は省略すると思います。

It was my first canoe experience, and I was kindly taught everything. More than anything, I was able to take a lot of photos, creating many memories! The stories about the mangrove forest were very interesting, and I was overwhelmed by the Pinai Sara Falls! On the way back, they even prepared souvenirs of star sand for me. Thank you so much! The restaurant you introduced was very delicious!

I was picked up at 1 PM in Miyanoura and enjoyed Shiratani Unsuikyo until after 4 PM. Although the pickup area was outside the JR Hotel, I was told that since the guide lived near the JR Hotel and Iwasaki Hotel, it was possible to arrange for pickup from the hotel if requested. We were blessed with good weather, and despite it being mid-March, the temperature was quite high, which is rare for Yakushima. The guide was very knowledgeable, and we had a great time during the journey. I think trekking shoes are better than sneakers (preferably ones you are used to), and rain gear is essential. There are many places to refill water, so having a bottle or a flask is sufficient. The itinerary is about three hours long, but there are hardly any steep areas, so as long as you have the stamina to climb five flights of stairs, you should be fine.

13時に宮之浦でピックアップしてもらって16時過ぎまで白谷雲水峡を堪能してきました（JRホテルでピックアップエリア外でしたが、JRホテルやいわさきホテルの近くの集落にお住まいのガイドさんだったため、頼めばホテルまでの送迎も可能だったと言われました）。天候に恵まれ、屋久島には珍しいピーカンかつで3月半ばにも関わらず気温も高めでした。ガイドさんは話題も豊富で道中楽しく過ごせました。スニーカーよりはトレッキングシューズが良いと思いますし（出来れば履き慣れたもの）、雨具は必携だと思います。水は補給できる場所は多いので、ペットボトルや水筒が一つあれば大丈夫です。3時間程度の行程ですが、険しいところは殆どないので、階段で5階まで登れる程度の体力があれば問題ないと思います。

I had never gone hiking as an adult, so I was a bit worried, but the guide likely adjusted the pace for us, and I was able to enjoy trekking. We climbed and descended while being introduced to various spots, the air was fresh, and I didn't mind the rain at all; just being in the nature of Yakushima was enjoyable. The warm tea the guide made for us along the way was also delicious.

大人になって登山をしたことがなく少し心配でしたが、おそらくガイドさんがスピードを調整してくださっていて、楽しくトレッキングができました。
様々な箇所を紹介いただきながら登ったり降りたり、空気も美味しく、雨も気にならず、屋久島の自然の中に居ること自体が楽しかったです。
途中ガイドさんがいれてくれた温かいお茶も美味しかったです。

I participated in a tour that included Jomon Sugi and Shiratani Unsuikyo in one day. I was quite prepared for the long course of Jomon Sugi, but the guide took appropriate breaks and shared various stories, so while I did get tired, it was an enjoyable trek.

For Shiratani Unsuikyo, a different guide talked about Yakushima's nature and plants. I was very happy that they even prepared a figure of Kodama from "Princess Mononoke."

I felt a bit anxious about the low tour price, but there were no particular complaints about the advance communication or the tour itself; in fact, I was very satisfied. If I have the chance again, I would like to participate in Shiratani Unsuikyo or other courses. (Maybe I've had enough of Jomon Sugi for now. Haha.)

縄文杉1日＋白谷雲水峡1日のツアーで参加しました。
縄文杉のコースはとにかく長いということでかなり覚悟して臨みましたが、ガイドさんが適度に休憩をとってくださったり色々とお話をしてくださったので、もちろん疲れはしましたが楽しいトレッキングでした。
白谷雲水峡は縄文杉とは別のガイドさんで屋久島の自然や植物についていろいろとお話ししてくださいました。もののけ姫のこだまのフィギュアも用意してくださってとても嬉しかったです。

ツアー代金が安かったので少し不安を感じていましたが、事前の連絡やツアー自体に特に不満もなく、むしろ大満足でした。
また機会があれば白谷雲水峡や他のコースにも参加したいと思います。
(縄文杉はもういいかな。笑)

I was anxious about whether I could keep up since I decided to go. I started walking in a group of five, including the guide, and I was worried about whether I could make it back, as my feet hurt even on the trolley path. However, the guide was attentive and checked on us multiple times, allowing us to walk the round trip distance safely. They took photos for us, and during lunch, we enjoyed warm miso soup, which was exceptional for our tired bodies. I am grateful to the guide on the second day for providing various explanations. I regret not being able to stay a bit longer.

体力が持つのか行く事に決めてからずっと不安でした。ガイドさんを含めて五人のグループで歩き始めトロッコ道ですら足が痛くて帰れるのか心配でした。しかしガイドさんの気配りはさすがで何度も声かけをして下さり無事に往復の距離を歩けました。写真を撮って下さったりお弁当の時は温かいお味噌汁も頂き疲れた身体には格別でした。二日目のガイドさんもいろいろと説明をして頂き感謝です。もう少し長い滞在にしたかったと悔やまれるほどです。

On the day of the tour, the guide suggested that it might be better to cancel due to heavy rain, but we decided to go and assess the situation on-site. When we arrived, there were no traffic restrictions, so despite the rain, we were able to fully enjoy the wonderful scenery. On the way back from the tour, there were road closures, and the river had risen, making it impassable, but the guide helped us find a detour, and we managed to return safely. If you're coming here, I definitely recommend having a guide, as they provide explanations along the way and can assist in emergencies.

ツアー当日は豪雨のため中止したほうが良いのではとガイドさんから話がありましたが、現地まで行って判断することとしました。
現地についた時点では、通行規制はされていなかったため、雨の中ですが十分に素晴らしい景色を堪能することができました。
ツアーの帰路には、通行禁止となっており、また川も増水して通行できなくなりましたが、ガイドさんが迂回路を案内してくれて何とか変えることが出ました。
ここに来るならガイドさんを付けたほうが、途中での説明や緊急時の対応等をしてくれるので、ぜっていに良いと思います。

I had reserved the Taiko Rock Course, but due to rain, I changed my plans and was taken to the Primeval Forest Course. Although not many people go on the Primeval Forest Course, it was truly beautiful to walk through the forest, whether viewed from afar or up close. I had a wonderful time. Our guide, Mr. Shimozono, flexibly took us to a course that we could enjoy even in the rain, and he guided us at a slow pace, saying, "Look at this, look at that," which allowed me to walk without feeling nervous. I would like to bring my mother next time. Thank you very much.

太鼓岩コースを予約していましたが、雨のため予定を変更し原生林のコースに連れて行ってもらいました。原生林のコースはあまり誰も通らないということですが、遠くから見ても近くに寄って見てもどこを切り取っても本当に美しい森の中を歩いていくことができ、本当にいい時間を過ごせました。ガイドの下園さんが臨機応変に雨でも楽しめるコースに連れて行って下さったのと、あまり体力に自信がない私でも楽しめるようにゆっくりのペースで これを見てごらん あれを見てごらん とガイドして下さったので、緊張せず楽しく歩けました。今度は母も連れてきたいです。ありがとうございました。

In late February, I went trekking to Jomon Sugi on Yakushima. It was my first time on this trail, and I completed the tour safely with my companion.

We stayed in Miyanoura, so we started the day with a pickup from our guide at 4 AM. There were only the two of us participating. After about an hour's drive, we arrived at the Arakawa trailhead, where we had breakfast in the car.

Since it was February, it was still dark when we began trekking (a light is essential in winter!). It was thrilling! Our guide led the way and called out warnings for icy spots, allowing us to walk safely. Fortunately, there was no snow. We welcomed the sunrise around the middle of the trolley road. Being off-season meant there were few people, and we could walk at our own pace amidst the sounds of nature. In winter, it's important to adjust your clothing to avoid getting cold during breaks, as your body cools down quickly. I believe there were two restrooms along the way, so it's wise to follow the guide's advice on when to use them.

As someone who doesn't exercise much, I found the uphill paths and stairs challenging, and there was a moment when I thought, "Oh, this is tougher than I expected." However, I continued to walk, taking breaks as needed. Our guide jokingly said, "It's tough for me to carry you, so please let me know if it gets too hard," which was comforting (in reality, it takes time to call for rescue in that area, so he encouraged us to speak up).

Despite being a bit tough, the mountain trail was truly enjoyable, immersed in Yakushima's nature. We walked between giant trees, through clear puddles, and over moss-covered rocks. Along the way, the guide took photos at highlights like the Wilson stump and the Great King Cedar (his photography skills were impressive). He also pointed out interesting spots he discovered beyond the famous sights.

We arrived at Jomon Sugi before 11 AM! It was breathtaking. The challenging journey made it even more moving. We had about 20 minutes to admire the view. However, eating is prohibited on the deck around Jomon Sugi, so we couldn't have lunch there.

On the way back, we had lunch. We retraced our steps, and since it was mostly downhill, I utilized rocks and ropes to help me walk. I was lucky to encounter monkeys and deer. The scenery of the trolley road, which was dark on the way in, was enjoyable on the return trip. Honestly, I wanted to ride the trolley. By the way, if you encounter a patrol from the Forestry Management Office, you can see the running trolley (but you can't ride it). We took a break by a beautiful stream, which was very soothing. We returned to the trailhead around 2:30 PM after about 9 hours of trekking. Thanks to our guide, we finished without any injuries.

Unfortunately, the second day's trek to Shiratani Unsuikyo was canceled due to bad weather. There's nothing you can do about that. Later, I received an email regarding a refund for the second day.

As it was my first time participating, I had some anxiety about the preparations, but the tour company was very helpful, responding quickly to my email inquiries. They also arranged rental items upon request.

I was very satisfied with Yakushima's nature, as well as the guide and the tour company's service. I hope this review helps anyone considering joining a tour!

2月下旬の屋久島で縄文杉トレッキングでした。2人での参加で、両名とも縄文杉までの道のりは初めてでしたが、無事にツアーを終えることができました。
宮之浦で宿泊していたので、当日朝4時にガイドさんの送迎からスタート。参加者は我々2人のみ。1時間ほど車で走り、荒川登山口に到着。車の中で朝食です。
2月なのでまだ真っ暗の中、トレッキング開始(冬季はライト必須です！)でスリル満点！ガイドさんが先導し、凍結した箇所等は呼びかけてくれたので安全に歩けました。積雪が無かったのは幸い。トロッコ道の半ばくらいで日の出を迎えました。オフシーズンなので人も少なく、自然の奏でる音の中自分達のペースで歩けました。冬は休憩中に体が冷えていくので、汗をかかないよう着衣で調整が大切ですね。トイレは片道の間に2ヶ所だったかと思うので、ガイドさんの言う通りに済ませるのが吉です。
普段あまり運動しない私は、勾配や階段道が増える山道に入ってからは「あっ、これ思ったよりしんどい」となる瞬間が訪れましたが、休憩を挟みつつ歩を進めます。「僕が運ぶの大変だから、キツくなったら無理せず言ってください」と、少し冗談っぽくガイドさんが声かけしてくれました(実際、レスキュー呼ぶにも時間がかかる場所なのですぐ話して欲しいそうです)。
すこーしキツいとはいえ、山道はまさに屋久島の自然の中という感じで楽しいです。大樹の間を抜け、澄んだ水たまりや苔むす岩の転がる中を歩いていきます。途中、ウィルソン株や大王杉などの見所でガイドさんが写真撮ってくれました(写真のワザマエも流石のもの)。有名な見所以外にもガイドさんの見つけた面白スポットを紹介してくれます。
11時前には縄文杉に到着！圧巻です。ここまでの道のりが結構大変だったのもあって尚更グッときました。20分くらい自由に眺める時間。なお縄文杉周りのデッキでは食事禁止なのでここでお昼は食べられません。
帰り道の途中で昼食。来た道をひた戻ります。当然下りの道が多いので、脚にきてる私は岩やロープをフル活用して歩きました。猿と鹿にも遭遇できてラッキーでした。行きは暗かったトロッコ道の景色も帰りに楽しめます。正直トロッコに乗りたかった。ちなみに森林管理署のパトロールに遭遇すると走るトロッコが見られます(乗れません)。途中、沢のほとりで休憩しました。この沢がまた綺麗で癒されます。14時半頃には登山口に帰り着きました。9時間程度のトレッキングでした。ガイドさんのおかげでケガもなく終了することができました。
2日目の白谷雲水峡はあいにくの荒天で中止となりました。こればかりはどうしようもないですね。後日、2日目の分については返金の案内メールがありました。
初めて参加ということで、事前の準備等にも不安がありましたが、ツアー会社にメール問い合わせするとすぐに返信がくるのでとても助かりました。レンタル品の手配も頼めばやってくれます。
屋久島の自然は勿論、ガイドやツアー会社の対応にもとても満足しました。ツアー参加を考えている方の参考になればと思います！

It was a trekking experience in the rain, but the guide provided us with important walking tips, helped us manage our pace, and ensured we took plenty of breaks to climb safely. The guide had extensive knowledge about the mountains and explained various things, making the 10-hour trek feel like it flew by. Thank you for the warm coffee! For someone like me who enjoys mountain climbing, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Thanks to the guide sharing highlights along the way, I was able to enjoy the 10-hour trek without getting bored. I believe that even those who aren't very confident in their physical fitness can manage it as long as they are in good health.

ガイドさんが道中の見どころを教えてくれるおかげで、10時間のトレッキングも飽きることなく楽しめました。

The host paid close attention to the guests while skillfully explaining things with humor, making it very engaging. Towards the end, they kindly helped us decide where to have lunch. What struck me the most was how much they genuinely love their local area.

　細かくゲストに目を配りつつ、冗談を交えながら上手に説明され、聞き応えがありました。終了間際には、昼食をどこで取ったらよいかの相談にも親身にのっていただきました。一番感じたのは、地元をとっても愛されている方だと感じました。

We participated as a couple in our 60s and 50s. I felt anxious about going alone, so we chose this guided tour. There were many younger participants, but thanks to our guide, we were able to complete the 11-hour Jomon Sugi course even as older adults. The guide had extensive knowledge of Yakushima's flora and fauna and stopped at various points to explain things. This course, which also has elements of an eco-tour, is very appealing. We were tired from two consecutive days of hiking, but we thoroughly enjoyed the essence of Yakushima and were very satisfied.

参加者は若い人が多かったですが、ガイドさんの

After turning 60, my spouse and I decided to switch to a private tour to avoid inconveniencing others. We exhausted our energy on the long trolley path, and it started to rain halfway through, making for a tearful trek. However, thanks to our guide's support, who adjusted to our pace, we managed to reach Jomon Sugi.

By the time we arrived, we were so worn out that we barely had the energy to take photos, but the sense of achievement gave us the motivation and strength for the return journey. During lunch in the rain, our guide provided a simple tent to shield us from the downpour. I am very grateful for the guide who carried heavy luggage while assisting us.

還暦過ぎの夫婦二人、他の方のご迷惑になってはいけないと、プライベートツアーに変更しました。長いトロッコ道で体力を消耗し、途中から雨も降りだして、泣きながらのトレッキングでしたが、私たちのペースにあわせて無理のないガイドさんのリードのおかげで、なんとか縄文杉にたどり着きました。
もうくたくたで写真を撮る気力もわずかしかありませんでしたが、たどり着いた達成感は帰りの気力と体力を与えてくれました。
途中、雨の中でのランチの時は、簡易のテントで雨をしのいでくれました。重い荷物を背負いながらのガイド、とても感謝しています。

The ferry was unexpectedly canceled, but I received a call first thing in the morning, and they kindly explained how to take a different route on the ferry and how to catch the bus. When we arrived, we were the only participants, so we felt very lucky. The activity itself was excellent, and the guide provided nonstop explanations, making it a lot of fun. I thought I would like to experience a longer course next time.

まさかのフェリーが欠航でしたが、朝一お電話頂き、別ルートのフェリーの乗り方やバスの乗り方を丁寧に教えて下さいました。
着くと他の参加者はおらず、私達だけでしたのでとてもラッキーでした。
アクティビティの内容自体もとても良く、ガイドさんがノンストップで説明をして下さりとても楽しかったです。
次回はもっと長いコースを体験したいなぁと思いました。

I signed up for two days on January 27 and 28, 2019. I was the only participant. Since a cold wave was coming, there was a light dusting of snow remaining on the mountain, but I was able to walk without any issues on both days. Moreover, it was the off-season with few people around, so I almost had the places to myself!

On the trolley path, I crossed over the river several times in the dark. The moon was beautifully reflected on the water's surface. The guide was a local person. They provided thorough explanations to my questions, speaking just the right amount—not too much and not too little—and I could feel their love for the area, making our conversations enjoyable.

What was disappointing was that I could only see Jomon Sugi from about 20 meters away. A friend who saw Jomon Sugi ten years ago mentioned that they could get much closer... I also heard from the guide that the tree is weakening.

As for the itinerary, I think "hiking" is a more accurate description than "trekking." In the latter part of the hike, there are some steep sections that can leave you breathless. However, if you can manage the steep stairs at the shrine or climb the stairs of the Oedo Line subway by skipping a step, I think you’ll be fine.

Regarding equipment... I don't think those who don't usually use trekking poles need to rent them. Also, a light that hangs around your neck is fine instead of a headlamp. Since it was winter trekking, I focused on my base layers (which have moisture-wicking and thermal properties), but for me, the thermal function was unnecessary... As I climbed higher, there were small icicles and ice on puddles, but I quickly started sweating from the movement.

2019/1/27、28の2日間で申し込みました。参加者は私のみでした。
寒波が来ていたので、山の上の方は、薄っすら雪が残っているところがありましたが、両日ともに支障なく歩けました。しかも、オフシーズンで人が少なく、各所ほぼ貸し切り❗️
トロッコ道では、暗い中、川の上を何度か横切ります。丁度、月が水面に映って綺麗でした。
ガイドさんは、地元の方でした。質問に対して丁寧に説明して下さり、喋りすぎず、寡黙すぎず、そして、ガイドさんの地元愛を感じることができ、会話も楽しかったです。

残念だったのは、縄文杉は20mくらい離れた距離からしか見ることができなかったこと。10年前に縄文杉を見たという友人の話では、もっと近くから観れたそうで…木が弱っているとガイドさんからも伺いました。

行程ですが、トレッキングと言うよりハイキングの方が近い表現かと…後半の方では、息の弾む勾配もあります。とは言え、歩幅の合わない神社の急な階段とか、地下鉄大江戸線の上り階段を一段跨ぎで上がることが出来れば、支障はない気がします。

装備について…
普段からストックを使わない人はレンタルする必要はないと思います。また、ヘッドライトでなくても、首から下げるタイプのライトでもOKでした。
冬トレッキングなので、アンダーギアに気合を入れましたが（吸汗速乾保温効果あり）、私にとって保温効果機能は不要でした…。上に登るほど小さい氷柱があったり、水溜りに氷が張ったりしていましたが、動くのですぐ汗をかきます。

During my first trekking experience in Yakushima, I was unsure of what to expect and lacked confidence in my physical strength. I conveyed this to our guide, S, and they really allowed us to walk at a slow and leisurely pace. We had plenty of time for photography, and during our breaks, we enjoyed the island's citrus fruits. We thoroughly enjoyed three hours in the mystical forest. This tour made me want to challenge myself to reach Jomon Sugi next time. It might not be enough for those who are young and physically fit, but I highly recommend it for those who want to take a leisurely walk.

初めての屋久島トレッキングで様子がわかないし、体力に自信がなかったのでその旨ガイドのSさんにお伝えしたところ、ほんとにゆっくりのんびり歩いて下さいました。思う存分写真撮影の時間もあり、途中休憩時には島の柑橘も頂き、たっぷり3時間もののけの森を満喫しました。今度は縄文杉までチャレンジしたい気持ちにさせて頂いたツアーでした。若くて体力ある方には物足りないかもしれませんが、のんびり歩きたい方にはおすすめです。
