The tour guide's explanations and responses were very polite, and they paid great attention to all the participants, making for an excellent guide. I participated alone as a woman, but I had a lot of fun trekking from departure to return. I would like to go again soon, and I thought I would like to use this service again.

ツアーガイドさんの説明や対応がとても丁寧で参加者全員の様子をとても良く見ていて凄くいいガイドさんでした。
女１人での参加でしたが出発から帰りまでとても楽しくトレッキングできました。
また近々行きたいです。その際はまた利用したいとおもいました。

They picked me up in the morning and took me to the trailhead to start the hike! Since a typhoon was approaching and there was fog, I wasn't sure if I would be able to see Jomon Sugi, so I decided to head straight to Jomon Sugi without taking photos at other spots first! Thanks to that decision, I was able to see Jomon Sugi clearly, and I thought it was great that I made a reservation because I wouldn't have been able to see it without the guide. The guide was also very kind, and I am grateful from start to finish!

朝迎えにきてくれて登山口まで行き登山開始！台風が来ていて霧が出て縄文杉が観れるかわからないということだったので、まず初めに他の場所では写真は撮らずに縄文杉まで向かいました！その判断のおかげで縄文杉をしっかり見ることができ、ガイドさんと一緒じゃ無かったら見れなかったと思うと予約してよかったなと思いました。またガイドさんもとても優しく最初から最後まで感謝しかないです！

This was a place I had wanted to visit but had given up on because I couldn't drive. First, we headed straight to Cape Hedo! We set off leisurely while listening to the audio guide. I was a bit anxious about the bus not having a restroom, but there were plenty of bathroom breaks, and I found myself arriving after dozing off ( ˘ω˘ ). It was a bit disappointing that it was somewhat cloudy...

At my main spot, Daichi Forest Mountain, I took a shortcut from the barrier-free course to the Churaumi Panorama Course and was able to fully enjoy the Yanbaru Forest Course up to the Gajumaru tree. I was close to others who were on the same tour until midway through the panorama course, but we were spaced out enough that I could take my time with photos. Colorful butterflies were fluttering around, creating a tropical atmosphere, and while I admired the Gajumaru tree, I enjoyed a mystical space all to myself without encountering anyone.

Since time was limited, I had to rush a bit, so I thought it would have been nice to have a longer stay. This was my third visit to the Churaumi Aquarium, so after seeing the whale shark, I explored the Tropical Dream Center. It was so hot that I gave up on the Okichan Theater and went back to see the whale shark one more time, and before I knew it, it was time to gather again.

Since it was a bus tour, I could comfortably sleep both ways, which made it much easier on my body. I would like to rely on this tour again the next time I go to Okinawa. It's a recommended tour for those who can drive as well, since it covers quite a distance.

行ってみたいと思いながらも運転出来ないため諦めていた場所でした。
まずは一気に辺戸岬へ！音声ガイドを聞きながらのんびり出発。バスにトイレがないのが不安でしたがトイレ休憩もしっかりあり、うたた寝している間に到着していました( ˘ω˘ )
やや曇り気味だったのが残念…。
私にとってのメインスポット大石林山ではバリアフリーコースからショートカットして美ら海パノラマコースへ入り、やんばる森林コースの御願ガジュマルまでしっかりみることが出来ました。
同じツアーに参加していた方達とはパノラマコースの途中までは近くにいましたが適度に離れていたため、ゆっくり写真も撮れました。鮮やかな色の蝶が舞っていて南国感満載の中、ガジュマルをみる間は誰にも会わず神秘的な空間を貸切状態で満喫出来ました。
時間が限られていたため急ぎ足で周ることになったので、もう少し滞在時間が長くてもいいなと思いました。
美ら海水族館は3回目だったのでジンベイザメをみた後に熱帯ドリームセンターを周りました。
あまりに暑くてオキちゃん劇場は諦めて最後にもう一度ジンベイザメをみて、あっという間に集合時間になりました。
バスツアーなので行きも帰りも気兼ねなく寝ることが出来、だいぶ身体が楽でした。
次回沖縄に行く時はまたお世話になりたいと思います。
かなりの距離を移動するので運転出来る人にもオススメのツアーです。

While looking at various tour reviews, I participated again with Veltra. The actual guide was a person named W from Kumage Transport, which is commissioned by Michi no Eki Kankou. When we arrived on the island, we were supposed to make a confirmation call, and the guide was supposed to call us the day before, but I was in the mountains until late in the evening the day before, so I couldn't connect. Just when I was worried about what to do, the guide kindly called the accommodation directly and connected us.

The guide W who came on the day was quite elderly, which made me a bit anxious, but that worry was unfounded. He had incredible leg strength, knowledge about plants, endurance, a wonderful personality, and a wealth of information about nature and the culture of Yakushima, making it feel like I was walking with a "sage." He patiently taught us, city dwellers who usually don't hike (in our 30s and 60s), how to walk, how to exert ourselves, and how to use trekking poles. (I apologize for thinking he was elderly! We were lacking in every aspect compared to him...)

His personality was very flexible and warm, and his laughter, "ho ho ho," truly resembled that of a "sage."

Now that I'm back and writing this, I want to go into the mountains with W again. I had never done trekking before, but I truly had an amazing experience. I am sincerely grateful.

様々なツアーの評価を見ながら今回もveltraさんで参加しました。実際のガイドさんは道の駅観光さん（が委託している熊毛運輸さん？）のWさんという方でした。島についたら確認電話をし、前日にガイドから確認電話がくるというものでしたが、前日夕方遅くまで山にいたため、電話は繋がらず。どうしようと困っていたらガイドさんが宿に直接電話をかけて繋いでくださり助かりました。
当日いらしたガイドのWさんはかなりご高齢の方で少し不安になりましたが、そんな不安なんのその。とんでもない脚力、植物の情報力、持久力、お人柄、自然への情報量、そして屋久島という島の文化などまるで「仙人」と歩いているような感覚でした。普段山を歩かない都会っ子の我々（３０代と６０代）にも丁寧に歩き方や力の入れ方、ストックの使い方を教えてくださいました。（ご高齢！なんて思って申し訳ありません！私たちの方が全てにおいて劣りすぎていました。。）

お人柄も非常に柔軟で温かく、「ほっほっほ」と笑う笑い方はまさに「仙人様」でした笑。

今、帰ってきて、これを書いていますが、またWさんと山に入りたいです。トレッキングなんてしたことのない私でしたが、本当に本当に素晴らしい経験をさせていただきました。心から感謝します。

I participated while a typhoon was approaching. I think it's quite rare to experience walking in the rain, but once you get used to it, it's no big deal. I seriously recommend Gore-Tex products. Even in heavy rain, the inside was only damp from sweat.

台風が迫ってきている最中に参加しました。
雨に打たれて歩く経験はなかなか無いと思いますが、慣れればへっちゃらでした。
Gore-Tex製品を本気で推奨します。土砂降りでも中は汗で湿ってるだけでした。

ガイドさんの豊富な知識で、常に面白い案内をいただきました。ありがとうございます！

The rain from the previous day had nourished the plants thoroughly, and the sunlight shining through the water droplets resting on the moss was a beauty like a miracle.

前日までの雨が植物を隅々まで潤し、コケに宿った水滴に日差しが差し込む様は、奇跡のような美しさでした。

The course is well-maintained, so there's no need for a tour guide as you won't get lost. There are public buses to the trailhead, making it easy to go alone. After returning home, my legs looked like Jomon Sugi (they were about three times their normal size!!). Those who want to maintain beautiful legs should be cautious.

コースは整備され、道に迷うことはないのでツアーガイドは必要ない。
登山口への公共バスもあり、一人で気軽に行くことが出来る。
帰宅後、足が縄文杉のようになった（足の太さが3倍ほどに！！）
美脚を維持したい人は要注意。

I thought it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so I checked the weekly weather forecast and aimed for a day that seemed promising to make my reservation. Two days prior, I was at Shiratani Unsuikyo, where it rained, but the mossy forest felt even more mystical in the rain. However, since this journey was long, I thought it would have been tough if it rained the whole time. I’m a man in my 40s who usually doesn’t exercise much, but I was able to return with a reasonable amount of energy. I believe this was thanks to the guide's well-calculated pace. Since it’s a long trek, I recommend solo travelers like myself to sign up. It might get boring along the way. On the other hand, if you’re young and not traveling alone, going at your own pace without a guide could be a good option (I actually saw many doing that). By the way, I ordered a bento, but there was no distinction between breakfast and lunch, and I was given two bento boxes with quite a bit of volume and slightly different side dishes. Wouldn’t it be better to have one for breakfast that’s lighter, like just some bread and fruit?

一生に一度だと思い、週間天気予報を見て、まず大丈夫だろうという日を狙って申し込みました。この二日前が白谷雲水峡で、そちらは雨だったのですが、苔むす森なんてかえって雨の方が幻想的な感じがしましたが、こちらは何せ行程が長いのでずっと雨だと辛かっただろうと思いました。私は40代の日頃運動不足な男ですが、そこそこ余裕を持って帰ってくることが出来ました。そこには、ガイドの方の計算し尽くした適度なペース配分のおかげもあったと思います。なにせ長いので、私のように一人旅の方は申し込んだ方がいいです。道中退屈しそう。一方若い人で1人でないならガイドなしで自分たちのペースで行くのもいいんじゃないでしょうか（実際多く見かけました）。ところでお弁当を頼んだのですが、朝食と昼食の区別がなく、けっこうなボリュームの、おかずがちょっと違う二つのお弁当を渡されました。一つは朝食用にして軽めのパンと果物くらいでよくないですか？

I don't think anyone would feel they wasted their money by signing up. It probably depends on your budget. I wouldn't say it's an absolute recommendation. By the way, it said to print the voucher and bring it, so I went to a net cafe to print it out, but they didn't ask for it when I got there. When I offered to show it, they said something like, "No, it's fine; I confirmed your name earlier." I might come off as petty, but I want my money and time back that I spent on printing. In this paperless world, is it really necessary? Can't you just show the screen on your smartphone?

申し込んで損した、とは誰も思わないと思います。予算と相談じゃないでしょうか。絶対にオススメってほどではないかな。ところで、バウチャーを印刷して持参するようにと書いてあったので、わざわざネットカフェで印刷して持って行ったら、提出・提示を求められず。自分から見せに行くと、「いや、さっき名前確認したから大丈夫です」みたいなことを言われた。せこいと思われかもだが、印刷にかかったお金と時間を返して欲しい。そもそも、このペーパーレスの世の中でどうなんでしょう。スマホの画面を見せるとかじゃダメなの？

The Shiretoko national park is a beautiful place and is a must-go place for visitors to Hokkaido.

Our guide was very informative and patient which we really appreciate because of the numerous photo taking opportunities.

One advice for visitors is that it can get quite cold there even in June. So please be properly dressed. A pair of gloves would be useful if you plan on taking lots of photos.

I always wanted to see this at least once in my life, so my spouse and I participated.
Both of us work desk jobs and only occasionally go for walks, so we chose this tour that included a guide and rental gear.

On the morning of the event, we were picked up by a van from the hotel.
If we were participating individually, we would have had to take a regular group bus to the Arakawa Trailhead, but since it was a tour, we went directly to the trailhead.

At the trailhead, we had breakfast that we had ordered from the hotel and did some light stretching.
Since we were a group of five, we each introduced ourselves briefly.
And then, off we went!

The weather that day was a mix of light rain, rain, and clouds, so we walked along the trolley path with our folding umbrellas.
*At this time of year, a headlamp was not necessary.*

Our guide mentioned that they moved to Yakushima a few years ago.
They used to be a mountain photographer, so they shared knowledge about Yakushima, as well as differences from other mountains and islands, and recommended some photo spots.

Due to weight considerations, I gave up on bringing my DSLR and opted for a mirrorless camera with a standard lens, but I regretted not bringing a wide-angle lens. The scenery was filled with forests and many giant trees.

Since the trolley path involved a lot of walking, chatting with the guide and fellow participants made the time feel shorter.

Once we finished the trolley path, we entered the actual climbing trail.
On the climbing trail, beginners are not allowed to use umbrellas, so we wore raincoats.
Using trekking poles is allowed, but those who are not used to them are advised not to use them. This way, both hands are free to hold onto rocks or handrails for safety.
As a beginner, I did not use trekking poles and climbed with waterproof gloves on both hands.
I recommend gloves, as climbing bare-handed could lead to injuries.

At the Wilson Stump, you can take heart-shaped photos, but I didn’t realize it was from a specific spot…
So, we ended up lining up to take turns for the photos.

The Great Cedar was impressive and close by.
Personally, I preferred it over the Jomon Cedar.
*Starting next year, due to environmental protection, the climbing path will be on the backside of the tree.*

And then, we reached the Jomon Cedar. The mist added a magical touch.
I heard that three new observation decks were added in 2017, allowing for different angles to view it.
However, it was far away… I heard it used to be much closer.

Then, we began our descent.

We had lunch during the descent.
The guide served us miso soup. It was delicious to have lunch outside after a long time. The light rain didn’t bother us at all.

I thought it would just be a matter of walking back, but then an accident occurred!
My right knee developed runner's knee, and I started feeling pain with every step.
When I informed the guide, they said, “You’ll have to rely on your willpower to descend,” so I applied a pain relief patch at a rest area and used trekking poles on the trolley path to somehow make it back to the trailhead.
Since I couldn’t keep up with the pace of the other participants, the guide let me go ahead and explained the sightseeing spots to the others or took short breaks, making sure to accommodate my pace, for which I was truly grateful.

As for my body, I had been stretching during the climb, so the muscle soreness and fatigue the next day were much lighter than I expected.

If you go individually, you might only focus on the Jomon Cedar and miss out on the spots and photo opportunities along the way, so I recommend a guided tour.

人生で１度は見てみたいと思い、夫婦で参加しました。
二人ともデスクワークの仕事で、ウォーキングをたまにやる程度でしたので、ガイド付きと登山グッズレンタルプランのある、このツアーを選択しました。

当日の朝はワゴンでホテルに迎えにきていただきました。
荒川登山口まで、個人参加だと一般の団体バスで行かなくてはなりませんが、ツアーだったので直接登山口までいけました。

登山口では予めホテルで頼んでおいた朝食を食べ、軽くストレッチ。
5人グループだったので、それぞれ簡単な自己紹介をしました。
そして、いざ出発！

当日は小雨、雨、曇りがランダムに切り替わる天気だったため、
トロッコ道では折り畳み傘を差しながら進みました。
※時期的にヘッドライトは不要でした。

ガイドさんは数年前に屋久島に移住してきたそうです。
元山写真家だったそうで、屋久島の知識はもちろんの事
他の山や島との違い、撮影スポットも教えてもらいました。

重量の関係で一眼レフは諦めてミラーレス＋標準レンズに
したんですが、やはり広角持っていけばよかったと後悔。
視界一面森世界になったり、巨大な樹が多いです。

トロッコ道はひたすら歩くという要素が多いため、ガイドさんや
同行の参加者さん達とお喋りしながらだと時間が短く感じられます。

トロッコ道が終わると本格的な登山道になります。
登山道では(初心者は)傘は使用できないため、カッパを着ます。
ストックを使用してもよいですが、ストックを使い慣れていない人は
あえて使わない方がよいそうです。その分両手が空いているため、
岩や手すりに掴まった方が安全と言われました。
私は初心者だったためストックは使用せず、両手に登山用防水グローブ
をはめて登りました。
素手だとケガをしそうなので、グローブはお勧めです。

ウィルソン株ではハート型の写真が撮れます、が
特定の場所からだとは思わなかった…
なので、参加者同士で順番に並んで撮影する感じでした。

大王杉は、近くてすごい迫力でした。
個人的には縄文杉より良かったです。
※来年から環境保護の点から登山道が樹の裏側になるそうです。

そして、縄文杉。霧が程よくかかっていてすごく幻想的でした。
2017年から展望デッキが３か所に増えたそうで、角度違いで見れました。
但し、遠いです…昔はもっと近かったそうですが。

そして、下山開始。

下山途中でお昼を食べました。
ガイドさんが味噌汁を振舞ってくれました。久しぶりに外で食べるランチは
美味しかったです。小雨も全然気になりませんでした。

後はひたすら歩くだけと思ったのですが、アクシデント発生！
私の右膝がランナー膝になってしまい、歩くたびに痛みが走るようになってしまいました。
ガイドさんに伝えたところ、「気力で下山するしかない」との事だったので
休憩所で湿布を貼って、トロッコ道ではストックを使いなんとか登山口まで
たどり着きました。
他の参加者のペースにはついていけなかったので、ガイドさんは私を先に行かせて他の参加者には観光スポットの説明をしたり、小休憩したりしてなるべく私の歩くペースに気を使ってくれたので本当に感謝です。

体に関しては登山途中からストレッチをしていたので、次の日の筋肉痛や疲れは思ってたより全然軽く済みました。

個人で行くと縄文杉だけが目的になってしまい、途中のスポットや撮影ポイントもわからないので、ガイド付きのツアーをお勧めします。

[レンタルの流れ]
■貸出
・空港に到着後、空港出口で業者さんが待っています。
（フェリーの場合は港と思います。）
・まずは靴を実際に持ってきてくれて、自分にしっくりくるサイズを探します。
　私は厚手の登山用の靴下を持参していたので普段よりワンサイズ大きいサイズにしました。
・雨具も３サイズ(S・M・L)あるので選びます。
　これも実際に着て確認できます。
・バックパックはワンサイズですが、防水カバーの使い方等の注意事項
　を教えてくれます。
・私は追加でストックを1本レンタルしたので、その使い方も教えてもらいました。
・全て終えたらレンタル道具一式をホテルまで持って帰ります。

■返却
・ホテルから帰ってきたらレンタル道具を一式揃えて
　ホテルのフロントに預けます。
・その際、業者が翌日取りにくる旨を伝えます。
・靴は多分乾かないので、ホテルにサービスがあれば頼んでもよいと思います。
　（私はそのまま返却してしまいました）

I thought waking up at 4 AM for two days during a 2-night, 3-day trip would be too much, so I searched for a tour that could be done in one day and joined it. I wasn't even that familiar with "Princess Mononoke," yet I thought about going to Shiratani Unsuikyo, which turned out to be a fateful decision. "Trekking" sounded easy, but it was a proper mountain climb.

It was much more of a climb than I imagined, the path to Taiko Rock suddenly became steep, the trolley path was way too long, and it was far from the point where the trolley path joined to the Arakawa trailhead. I could feel lactic acid building up in my arms along the way, and it was really tough.

I usually don't exercise at all, and I only have the stamina and willpower to push through wanting to run a full marathon or climb Mount Fuji once a year, but this time felt the hardest.

I went to see Jomon Sugi, but Taiko Rock was unexpectedly impressive, and I felt just as moved. It was really tough, but the guide said, "If you split it up, it will be hard for two days, so it's better to do it in one day. Ideally, staying overnight and taking it slow is best," so if you're not going to stay overnight, it's better to do it all in one day.

It's tougher than I imagined (I can't say it enough), but it's manageable with willpower. The guide's perfect timing for encouragement and breaks really helped. It was impressive how friendly all the guides in Yakushima were; they were chatting with each other when passing by. On this course, you pass people who have already reached Jomon Sugi and are on their way back, so when it was tough, hearing "Keep going! You're almost there!" was surprisingly motivating.

I highly recommend you go. On the way back, since it was in the direction of the guide's home, I was grateful they dropped me off at a hotel that was outside their usual range.

2泊3日で二日4時起きはかんべん、と思って1日でまとめていけるツアーを探して参加。もののけ姫も対してみてないのに白谷雲水峡もいくかと思ったのが運のつき。「トレッキング」なんて甘い、ちゃんとした登山だった。笑
想像以上に登山だし、
太鼓岩までの道が途中から急に険しいし、
トロッコ道が長すぎるし笑、
太鼓岩から合流したトロッコ道の地点から荒川登山口までも遠いし笑、
途中で腕に乳酸が溜まってるのがわかって本当につらかった。笑

普段全く運動してなくて、
1年に1度、フルマラソン走りたい、富士山登りたい・・を根性で乗り切ってきた程度の体力と気力の持ち主だが、今回が一番辛く感じた。。

縄文杉を見たくて行ったが、太鼓岩が想像以上によく、同じくらいの感動があった。
本当につらいが、ガイドさんも「分けていったら2日間辛いんだから、1日で行った方がいい。本当は泊まってゆっくり行くのがベスト」と言っていたので、泊まらないくらいなら1日でまとめたほうがいい。

想像以上にきつい（なんどもいう）笑が、気力で乗り切れるレベル。
ガイドさんの絶妙な声かけ、休憩のタイミングと人柄に救われた。
屋久島はみんなガイドさんが仲よいらしく、すれ違う時も会話していたのが印象的だった。このコースだと、縄文杉につくタイミングで、縄文杉にすでに到着して帰ってくる人とすれ違うので、辛い時に「頑張って！もう少しだから！」と言ってもらえたのが想像以上に力になった（笑）。

ぜひ、行ってみてください。
帰り、ガイドさんの家の方面ということもあり、範囲外のホテルまで送ってくれたのもありがたかったです。

The guide was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and nature of Shiretoko, and it was truly educational. The explanations were thorough, and the tour was excellent from start to finish. Thank you very much.

The weather was great, and I enjoyed the best views. Since the start time was early, I was able to leisurely enjoy the scenery at Taiko Rock. It's definitely better to go early in the morning! The guide was a quiet person, kind, and really skilled at taking photos. I was truly, truly happy. Thank you very much.

天気が良く、最高の景色を楽しめました。
開始時間が早いので、ゆっくり太鼓岩での景色を楽しめました。絶対朝早くに行った方がいいです！ガイドさんは物静かな方で、優しくて、とにかく写真撮影がお上手でした。

I was worried that I wouldn't be able to reach Jomon Sugi due to my lack of stamina, but our guide, Mr. Yabuta, was wonderful. He lent me a trekking pole, explained many plants, took lots of photos, and thanks to him, I was able to reach the tree. When I saw the cedar, I was moved to tears.

Since I was slow, I also had an unforgettable moment of having the deck almost to ourselves. I don't think I could have made it without Mr. Yabuta. For those who are unsure, I recommend hiring a dedicated guide when going to Jomon Sugi. Thank you so much, truly, thank you.

体力がないので縄文杉までたどり着けるか心配でしたが、ガイドの薮田さんの気遣いがすばらしく、ストックを貸してくれたり、たくさんの植物の説明をしてくれたり、たくさん写真を撮ってくれたり、無事にたどり着くことができ、杉を見たときには涙がでました。
私が遅かったせいもあり、まさかのデッキ貸し切りのような時間が持てたのも忘れられない思い出になりました。
薮田さんがいなければたどり着くことはできなかったと思います。
自信のない方は縄文杉に行くなら専属のガイドさんを付けるのをお勧めします。

Since the guide was a newcomer, we had a more experienced guide accompany us, and the two of them guided us together. We arrived at the canoeing spot after about 30 minutes, just when we were starting to feel tired. The trekking was also just right, taking about 20 minutes and making us sweat a little. After returning, I took a shower, felt the natural breeze in the hammock while drinking a beer, and it was truly a wonderful holiday. They took a lot of photos for us and sent them right away via LINE. Thank you very much.

ガイドさんが新人でしたので先生役のガイドさんが付き2人で案内してもらいました。カヌーも30分くらいで疲れたころに到着。トレキングも少し汗が出るくらいで（20分）到着でちょーどいい具合でした。帰ってからシャワーを使いハンモックで自然の風を感じてビールを飲んで、実にいい休日でした。写真もたくさん撮っていただきラインですぐに送ってもらいました。ありがとうございました。

The staff handling the mountain gear transfer and the trekking guides were all kind and attentive. I was able to travel with minimal luggage. I would like to use their services again next time.

I was worried to hear that it was closed due to heavy rain on the day the rainy season started, but the next day I was truly healed by the beautiful moss and forest after the rain cleared up. There was also light rain!

One thing I thought of is that even if you contact the tour company with details in advance, it doesn't necessarily mean that the guide on the day is aware of that information (or has received the message), so it's better to communicate it again. Of course, they say to inform the guide, but that doesn't alleviate our concerns until the day before, which made me think, "Hmm."

梅雨入りの日は大雨のため閉鎖だったと聞いて心配していましたが、翌日は雨上がりの綺麗な苔と森が見られて本当に癒されました。小雨も降りましたしね！

送迎については色々とワガママを聞いてくださりすみません&ありがとうございました。
柔軟に対応いただき助かりました。

ひとつ思ったのは、事前にツアー会社に細かいことを連絡していても、当日のガイドさんがその内容を把握している(連絡を受けている)とは限らないので、改めて伝えたほうがよいです。もちろん、ガイドに伝えてくださいとは言われますが、それだと前日までこちらの心配事が解消されないので、うーん、と思ってしまいました。

My first time in Yakushima!
I went trekking to Jomon Sugi and Shiratani Unsuikyo.
Wow, the negative ions were incredible, it was so much fun!
You should definitely go at least once!

初めての屋久島！
縄文杉と白谷雲水狭にトレッキングしてきました。
いやーマイナスイオンはんぱなかったですね、楽しかったです！
一度は行くべき！

The guide's voice was just too quiet. It wasn't just because of the heavy rain (and thunderstorm on the way down). It felt like there was no intention to make sure all participants (seven of us, including me) could hear. Even when he was explaining things, I couldn't catch what he was saying at all. While walking, he mentioned not to step on logs or roots because they could be slippery, and since I was second from the front, I could barely hear him, but I’m sure the people in the back couldn’t hear at all. I really wonder what he would do if someone slipped and fell... This is a matter of life and death, so shouldn’t he at least raise his voice to warn everyone about that?

Also, there was no information like how many minutes until the break or that we were almost at Jomon Sugi. It was just endless walking. Everyone was tired; couldn’t he say at least a few encouraging words? My friend, who was struggling with knee pain, finally made it to Jomon Sugi. While other guides were saying, “You did great! Good job!” and high-fiving, our guide was just saying, “Hurry up and line up for a photo!!”

After we safely descended, I heard another guide telling everyone to stretch, and I thought, “You should have said that too!” He really didn’t do his job well.

Ah, it was truly a boring tour. I won’t hire a guide next time. I figured out the walking pace, and this time it felt almost the same whether he was there or not (laughs). What was the guide's name again? Something like Ura... and his first name was Gonta?

I think you shouldn’t expect a fun tour.

とにかくガイドの声が小さい。豪雨(下山は雷雨)の中だからとかの問題ではない。参加者全員（私含め7人）に聞かせる気がまるでない。説明してくれてても何言ってるんだかさっぱり聞き取れなかった。歩いてる時も丸太の上とか根っこにはすべるから乗らないでって私は前から2番目だったから辛うじて聞こえたけど後ろの人は絶対聞こえてないと思う。滑って転げ落ちたらまじでどうする気なんだろう・・・。命にかかわることなんだからそういう部分だけでもしっかり大きな声でみんなに注意を促すべきなんじゃない！？
あと何分で休憩ですとか。あともうちょっとで縄文杉ですよとか何もない。ただひたすら歩くのみ。みんな疲れてるんだから励ましの言葉くらいかけられないのかな？友達は膝が痛い中一生懸命歩いてようやく縄文杉に到着。他のガイドは「よく頑張ったね。お疲れ様ー」って言いながらハイタッチしてるのにうちのガイドときたら、「写真撮るから早く並んで！！」って・・・。
無事下山して他のガイドがストレッチしてくださいねーって言ってるのを聞いてストレッチしたけど、お前も言えよ！って思った。まじで仕事しないおっさんだったな。
あぁ、本当につまらないツアーだった。また行くときはガイド付けないわ。歩くスピードどんなもんか分かったし。今回もほぼいてもいなくても同じだったから（笑）
ガイドの名前何だっけ？浦なんとかっていうおっさん。下の名前はゴンタ？
楽しいツアーは期待しない方がいいと思います。

The weather was nice, and I had a wonderful experience. However, since the weather can change significantly, let's make sure to plan carefully and take on the challenge.

お天気が良くて、素晴らしい体験をしました。でも、お天気で大きく変わるので計画をしっかりと立ててチャレンジしましょう。

Although I felt that the round trip of 11 hours was a bit tough, I realized that without spending this much time, I wouldn't be able to experience the nature of Yakushima. I felt a strong sense of accomplishment for pushing through. I am grateful for the guide, who was very experienced and attentive to the team's subtle signals. Walking through a World Heritage site was a significant experience for me. My wife was also deeply moved and grateful.

While it's understandable that there may not be facilities since it's a natural heritage site, I do wish there were restrooms at key points, especially for the elderly.

Overall, considering my physical stamina, the team's atmosphere, and the guide's assistance, I am very satisfied.

往復11時間はちときついとは感じたもののこのくらいの時間をかけなければ屋久島自然を経験できないわけで頑張ってやり遂げた感が強い。ガイドも手慣れたものでチーム全体のちとした信号を見落とさず付き合っていただけたことには感謝。身をもって世界遺産を歩けた経験は自分の経験上大きな身になったと思う。妻も大いに感動、感謝しておりました。
自然遺産なのだからという意味ではしょうがないと言えばそれまでながら、できれば要所にトイレがあればと思いました。特に年寄りにはつらい一面ではないかと思料。
総合評価は自分の体力、チ－ムの雰囲気、ガイドさんのヘルプ、大いに満足です。

I was a bit nervous hearing that it was a full-day walking tour, but thanks to our guide, we were able to take regular breaks and successfully completed the tour with my elderly parents. It was a wonderful experience to connect with so much nature!

1日歩き通しのツアーと聞いていたのでびびっていましたが、ガイドさんのおかげで定期的に休憩も取ってくれて無事高齢の親と共に最後まで歩き通せました。たくさんの自然にも触れ合えてとてもいい経験でした♪

I was taken care of by Mr. Taniyama from Kodama. Since he is from Yakushima, he was able to teach me a lot. We had a trekking group of four pairs and nine guides. The pacing was impressive. I struggled a bit in the Hell's 1-3 blocks, but I managed to reach Jomon Sugi. It started raining around the foot of the mountain, but after that, it was quite hot. Right after we set off, the sole of my shoe came off, and I received some emergency repairs. I was worried since I hadn't used them in a while, and although I tried them on flat ground, it seems they weren't very helpful.

屋久島出身との事で、色々教えて頂けました。
ペア4組にガイドさんの9名でのトレッキング。
ペース配分も流石でした。
地獄の1〜3丁目でバテましたが、なんとか縄文杉まで辿り着けました。
雨も出発した麓くらいで、後は暑いほどでした。
出発後すぐに靴底が剥がれてしまい、応急処置して頂きました。
久しぶりの使用だったので気になっていたのですが(;o;)平坦な道で試したんですが…役に立たなかった様です(;o;)

The guide was wonderful, and the other tour participants were all great people. Everyone was considerate of each other, making for an enjoyable hike. Of course, the beauty of Yakushima goes without saying. It was a bit of a challenging mountain walk, but I was taught how to recover from fatigue, which made the next day much easier.

楽しいハイキングとなりました。
もちろん屋久島の素晴らしさは言うまでもありません。
少し厳しい山歩きでしたが、疲れの取り方まで

My first trekking experience!
I hadn't done any intense exercise for a while, so I was honestly a bit anxious, but somehow I managed to go and come back!
I couldn't imagine what it would be like and had some worries, but the guide was very kind, and everyone I was with, as well as the people I passed in the mountains, were all really nice, which made for wonderful memories!
In the great outdoors, I felt a surge of gratitude for everything that is usually taken for granted. The scenery, the air, the greenery, the water, and even the lunch were all so much more beautiful than usual. I was constantly moved by the encouragement I received from people I passed during tough moments!
I did get hit by muscle soreness, but even that became a good memory. Haha!
I definitely want to visit Yakushima again, and next time I want to experience activities by the river and the sea!
I'm really glad I was able to meet the Jomon Sugi, which I had wanted to see at least once in my life, with such a bright and cheerful feeling! Thank you very much!

人生初のトレッキング！
しばらく激しい運動などしてなかったので、正直不安でしたがなんとか行って帰ってこれました…！
どんな感じなのか想像もつかなくて、心配なこともあったのですが
ガイドさんがとても親切でしたし、ご一緒した方々も、山中ですれ違う方々もとても気持ちのいい人たちばかりで素敵な思い出ができました！
大自然の中では当たり前の事すべてに感謝の気持ちが湧いてきて
景色も空気も緑も水もお弁当も普段よりずっと美味しく、辛い時にすれ違う人からもらう応援に救われ感動しっぱなしでした！
やっぱり筋肉痛には襲われましたがそれすらいい思い出となりました。笑
また屋久島には必ず伺いたいと思います、今度は川や海でのアクティビティも体験したいです！
人生のうち、一度は会いたかった縄文杉に、こんなに晴れ晴れとした気持ちで会いに行けて本当に良かったです！ありがとうございました！

This is my third time in Yakushima, and I have met several guides so far, but this time, our guide Jenny provided the best service in terms of consideration, attitude, judgment, and more.
