The finished glass became a one-of-a-kind piece of traditional craft.

そして本番！自分の選んだ形、色のグラスに削りたい柄を描き込み、削り始めました。いつの間にかすっかり職人気分になっていました。
こんなに集中したのは何年ぶりだろうかと感じるくらい全力で集中しました。
出来上がったグラスはオンリーワンの伝統工芸作品となりました。

There were many obis available, and to help capture the right atmosphere, the staff would hold the obi against the yukata based on color and pattern. I liked that there were many hair accessories to choose from freely. I went with my husband, and after deciding on the women's yukata and obi, he chose his to match. There were plenty of men's yukatas too. We walked around the Shuzenji area in our yukatas and took lots of wonderful photos. Thank you very much!

初めてのレンタル浴衣でしたがとても良かったです！まずは浴衣を選ぶのですが沢山種類があったのでどなたでも好みの浴衣が見つかると思います。色別に置いてある為見やすかったです。こちらから声をかけるまでお店の人は少し離れたところで待っていてくれるのでゆっくり探せました。浴衣が決まった後はお店の人と帯を選びます。帯も沢山あり雰囲気を掴む為色や柄ごとにお店の人が浴衣に帯をあててくれます。浴衣、帯が決まったらあとは着付けです。あっという間に着せてくれました。帯や紐をしめる度に「大丈夫ですか？」と声を掛けてくれ気を遣ってもらいました。下駄も何種類かありました。終わった後は100円で髪をセットしてくれます。編み込みや三つ編みで可愛く後ろにまとめてもらえました。髪飾りも沢山あり自由に数種類選んでもいいのが良かったです。主人と一緒に行きましたが、女性の浴衣と帯を決めてからそれに合わせて選んでいました。男性の浴衣も沢山ありました。浴衣を着て修善寺周辺を歩き、素敵な写真が沢山撮れました。ありがとうございました！

It was very convenient to rent a yukata right in front of the bus stop. There was a wide variety of yukatas and obi, and everything from undergarments to hair accessories, bags, and parasols was included in the price, which I thought was a great deal (only tabi needed to be purchased if required). It's nice that you can go hands-free (they can also hold your luggage). The dressing was very careful, and I was able to spend the whole day looking beautiful in my yukata without it coming undone. Personally, I hope that international visitors can appreciate not only the kimono but also the beauty of the knot on the back of the obi. I was very satisfied to be able to take photos in my yukata in the charming streets of the bamboo grove, Togetsukyo Bridge, and Shūzenji. It became a wonderful day filled with good memories with friends. During the summer, only yukata dressing is available, but from autumn, kimono rentals will also be possible, so I think experiencing kimono dressing during the fall foliage season would be great. 夏場は浴衣の着付けだけですが、秋からは着物のレンタルも可能になるので、紅葉の時期の着物着付け体験もいいと思います。また機会があれば是非利用させて頂きたいと思いました。

At first, I thought, "There's no way I can carve glass!" and "What if I mess up and can't fix it?" I hesitated, but I'm glad I decided to go for it.

There was an explanation and practice at the beginning, and even if things didn't go perfectly during the actual session, the instructor helped to some extent, and in the end, I was able to create something!

Achieving symmetry or carving the same pattern to the same size can be quite challenging, so sticking to a simpler design might actually work better!

It's a unique experience that you can't have just anywhere, so I highly recommend it. The classroom is located above a shop, so you can not only create but also purchase authentic Edo Kiriko glassware. Just browsing the store is a treat for the eyes!

The glasses are neatly packed in a box and placed in a paper bag, making them easy to take home! I think they would make great souvenirs for foreigners, and I encourage Japanese people to try it at least once! Highly recommended! (*^^*)

Recently, however, there have been more experience plans available, and I was able to enjoy a fun introduction to playing games with the maiko more easily than I expected.

I reserved a slightly better seat, S2, for an additional fee. Fortunately, there were no guests in the SS seats, so I had a great view.

The meal was from a famous catering company, and although it was cold (which can't be helped), it was delicious.

It felt like we ate during the question corner and game experiences (during my visit, we played Konpira Funefune).

You could order drinks at the beginning, with soft drinks costing around 300 yen, and it seems that if you order sake, the maiko will serve it to you.

舞妓さんのかんざしが毎月変わること、衣装の特徴、一年目と二年目以降の舞妓さんの装いの違いなど、色々質問も出来ました。

舞妓さんにおねえはん、と呼ばれて写真一緒に撮ったり、遊んだりは、中々こそばゆい体験で、楽しかったです。

私は2人で参加でしたが、1人で参加する方も何組かいました。

◆ Difficult to see the stage
Since you are seated, I think the cheapest seats are quite hard to see from. Because you are not sitting on the floor, your view is very limited. However, despite purchasing the cheapest seat, I was upgraded to the next tier due to overbooking by the management, which allowed me to see somewhat better. ◆質問時間が盛り上がらないどころか失礼
舞妓さんの演目の後に、舞妓さんの説明がないまま質問コーナーを入ってしまうため、何を質問していいか困ってしまい、私やツアーガイドが気を使って質問しているような状態でした。
また、外国人の出身を聞く際、ウェールズから来た人に対して、舞妓さんが「何処？」って答えてしまったり、司会が「舞妓さんはウェールズは知らないけどスコットランドは知ってました」というフォローする相手も内容も意味不明なことを言っていて、せっかく日本に来たのにおもてなしできてなくて、日本人としてちょっと悲しい気分になりました。

Edo Kiriko dates back to 1836 and was recognized as a traditional Tokyo craft in 1985.

Using clear or colored glass, artisans sketch a design and use a grinder to cut intricate patterns (including flowers, leaves, bamboo woven baskets, and more modern interpretations).

In this one-hour workshop at Sokichi in Asakusa, you’ll have the chance to learn how Edo Kiriko is created. You start with practicing on a sample glass, then choose and sketch your design and cut your design.

At the end, you’ll have a chance to photograph your finished masterpiece.

Instruction and guidance was given in English and Japanese.

The operator of this class was amazing. The class wasn’t long so it kept my day more open than others, that let me fit in more activities on the day. I learned a bit about the history of Samples and got to make a souvenir that ‘ thanks to the instructors help ‘ came out perfect. Also this was a great place to get souvenirs for everyone back home. Not many souvenirs say Japan better than a plastic sushi key chain.
