Due to the impact of COVID-19, I had been lacking exercise and couldn't go out much, so the vegetable harvesting experience was appealing, and I decided to participate. Although the weather had been unstable, making it tough for the vegetables to grow, we were able to enjoy efficiently touring the fields.

The vegetables I brought home were delicious and enjoyed by my family over a few days. Unfortunately, we couldn't have a barbecue this time due to my child's schedule, but it would have been great to enjoy that as well.

コロナの影響で運動不足かつ、外出もままならなかったことも有り、野菜収穫体験が魅力的で参加しました。天候不順が続いていたことも有り、野菜の生育も厳しかったようですが、畑を効率的に回って楽しめました。
持ち帰った野菜は数日かけて家族で美味しくいただけました。
今回は子供の都合でできなかったのですが、バーベキューも楽しめればよかったです。

I was late for the meeting time, but they welcomed me warmly. I participated with my one-and-a-half-year-old child for food education. My child was initially reluctant because they are not good at playing outside, but they gradually started to enjoy it and began filling the bag with cut vegetables. They picked tomatoes and other things that they could grab with their hands. It was just before noon in the middle of summer, so the heat was quite challenging, but there's nothing that can be done about that. Staying hydrated is essential. The tomatoes we picked and ate on the spot tasted like fruit. My child compared the vegetables with a picture book after we got home and arranged the vegetables they picked on top of the book, which was a great experience! I would like to come back to harvest different vegetables in another season.

1歳半の子供の食育をかねての参加でした。
外遊びが苦手なので最初は嫌がっていましたがだんだん楽しくなってきたようで切った野菜をどんどん袋に詰めていました。
トマトなど手で取れるものはとっておりました。
真夏のお昼前でしたので暑さだけが大変でしたがこればかりは何とも‥。
マメな水分補給が必要です。
その場で取って食べたトマトはフルーツみたいでした。
子供は家に帰ってから図鑑と野菜を見比べて図鑑の上に採った野菜を並べていて良い経験になりました！
また違う季節に違う野菜を収穫に伺いたいです♪

I wanted my 3-year-old child to experience harvesting in a field, and since the impact of COVID-19 seemed minimal, we decided to go for a leisure outing after a long time! My child had a great time harvesting eggplants with scissors, picking shiso leaves, and pulling up carrots.

Although we didn't have a BBQ, we ended up bringing home quite a lot of vegetables! We filled two bags we received at the start to the brim, so it was a substantial amount. I love shiso leaves, so I picked a lot of them. The only downside was that the potatoes and corn were not in good condition.

When we made fresh vegetable tempura for dinner, it was incredibly sweet and delicious! My child kept saying how tasty it was, probably because they picked the vegetables themselves, and they devoured the red bell peppers!

The staff members accompanied us one by one, allowing us to harvest while receiving explanations. We usually go on trips to the sea far away, but I'm glad we tried this experience for the first time.

ハサミでナスをちょきんと収穫してみたり、大葉を摘んでみたり、人参を引っこ抜いてみたりで、子供は楽しそうでした。
BBQはしなかったのですが、自宅で持ち帰った野菜を並べたら結構な量に！最初にもらったレジ袋２袋分パンパンに持ち帰ったので大量でした。
大葉が大好きなのでいっぱいもぎ取ってきました。じゃがいもととうもろこしが不作になっていたのだけが残念でした。
夕飯に新鮮な野菜天ぷらにしたら、すごく甘みがあり美味しかったです！子供も自分で取った野菜だからか、美味しいを連発して赤ピーマンもモリモリ食べてました！
スタッフの方も1人ずつついてくれ、説明を受けながら収穫できました。
いつもは遠方の海の旅行が多い私達ですが、今回初めてこういう体験に行ってみて良かったです。

The variety of vegetables was not very large at this time, but the radishes, turnips, and snap peas were sweet and very delicious. Although it was a bit challenging to have a BBQ due to the strong winds, the children had a wonderful time and it was a fun experience.

当日はスタッフの方が1グループにひとり付いて、畑を案内しながら野菜の採り方を教えてくれます。
野菜の種類は この時期はまだあまり多くはありませんでしたが、大根やカブ、スナップエンドウなど甘くてとても美味しかった。
この日は強風でＢＢＱをするのが ちょっと大変でしたが、子供達も大喜びの楽しい経験をすることが出来ました。

I was worried about the heavy rain in the morning, but when I called on the day, they told me it was expected to clear up in the afternoon and suggested I come around noon. I appreciated their flexible response, especially since I had a small child with me.

During the vegetable harvesting, they gave us various tips, and at the barbecue, they let us enjoy our time with friends and family in a good way. The garlic chives were soft and incredibly delicious!

朝からどしゃ降りの雨でどうしようかと思いましたが、当日電話をすると、午後から雨が上がる予定だから12時頃来ては？と言っていただき、小さな子連れだったので柔軟な対応が嬉しかったです。

野菜収穫では色々アドバイスをくださり、またバーベキューでは良い意味で放っておいてくださり、友人家族とわいわい楽しい時間を過ごすことができました。ニラが柔らかくてすごく美味しかったです！

This time, my spouse and I signed up for an optional tour to experience farming together.

At the site, the owner couple was already working in the fields. We planted corn seedlings, harvested broccoli, and finished by receiving some green onions.

What caught my eye were the strange items in the field. A beer can stuck near the broccoli seedlings and a windmill made from a plastic bottle. These are all clever ways to protect crops from insects and birds, reflecting the love of the owner couple who grow their crops while coexisting with nature without using pesticides.

After planting the seedlings, the broccoli we harvested was not what we usually see in supermarkets. It was the small broccoli that grows on the side. In fact, farmers harvest the large broccoli that grows on each plant for shipping, and then they eat the side shoots as home use. Once there’s nothing left to eat, they return it to the earth to make fertilizer.

Through this experience, I was able to touch upon the ingenuity of farmers and their gentle hearts. I hope children can also participate, feel gratitude for the blessings of the earth, and experience the love of farmers who live in harmony with nature.

今回、夫婦ふたりで農業体験のオプショナルツアーを申込、参加しました。

現場では、すでにオーナー夫婦が畑仕事をされていて、私たちはとうもろこしの苗植え、ブロッコリーの収穫をし、最後はわけぎを頂き終了でした。

目を引いたのは畑にあった不思議なもの。ブロッコリーの苗近くに刺さったビール缶、ペットボトルで作った風車です。これらはいづれも虫や鳥から農作物を守る工夫で、農薬を使わず自然と共存しながら作物を育てるオーナー夫婦の愛情を感じました。

苗植えのあと、収穫させていただいたブロッコリーは私たちがスーパーで見かけるものではありません。脇にでてくる小さなブロッコリーです。実は、農家では、一株に一つできる大きなブロッコリーを収穫し、出荷したあと横から出てくるわき芽を家庭用として食べるとのことです。そして食べるところがなくなったら大地に戻し肥料にするのです。

この体験を通して農家の工夫や、優しい心に触れることができました。子供たちにも是非参加し、大地の恵みを頂く感謝、自然と寄り添う農家の愛情を体感して何か感じてもらいたいと思います。
