Hugh our guide was a really nice friendly guy, we got on really well and he was very informative. Unfortunately we were there in the middle of the Covid 19 virus, so many of the breweries were closed, but we did get some tasting done at 3 breweries. The lunch was amazing, some of the best Sashimi we have ever had and the Hotpot was fabulous!
We still had a very nice time and hope more travellers will take this tour when times are back to normal.

The lunch was disappointing! It felt like something you could get for under 1000 yen at a diner (in my opinion). The variety was also limited. The boat fare was an additional charge, and I ended up paying over 6000 yen, which made me feel like I was scammed. Not worth going.

The hosts are the kindest people. We had so much fun talking and cooking not one but three different dishes!

We made:
-Okonomiyaki
-Miso-soup
-Onigiri

We never had any Okonomiyaki since we don't like seafood as much so we were skeptically but the dish was just delicious! We knew and loved Miso Soup and Onigiri and now we know how to make all 3 dishes by ourselfs - it's actually so simple!! Definetly recommended.

My family and I really enjoyed this class! Everyone was so friendly and kind. Everyone spoke a mix of Japanese and English. (My parents don't speak any Japanese and they felt very welcome and had no trouble communicating in English.) Keiko is a great teacher, and we all felt like we'd be able to make Okonomiyaki by ourselves after this class. After we cooked the main dish, we had a nice meal with everyone that included soup, onigiri, and sweets alongside our okonomiyaki. We left with full bellies! We'd definitely recommend this experience!

I'm not usually a travel enthusiast, but I decided to venture out to Toba on Christmas Eve.

Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but I found myself more attracted to seasonal seafood rather than meat or sweets. I had heard of Toba due to work, but I had never been there, so I signed up for the trip.

This might not be limited to Toba, but I felt that the rocky cliffs of the islands during the boat trip were magnificent and beautiful. Honestly, it felt like a world from a game.

Additionally, the guide was easy to talk to, and I heard various insightful stories about the seemingly ordinary landscapes of the islands.

At the dining hall, I also enjoyed chatting with the very friendly ladies (who turned out to be sisters). They mentioned that even in their older age, they are still active as ama (female divers), which is truly youthful!

This is what it means to have a fun and lively trip. I had a wonderful experience.

I think it's highly recommended for those who love to talk and have a strong curiosity to learn about the background and history of various places.

旅行好きでない私ですが、クリスマスイブに鳥羽まで足を延ばしてみました。

年を取ったせいなのか、肉！お菓子！よりも、旬の魚介というところにも惹かれましたし、鳥羽って仕事の関係で名前は知ってたのですが、行ったことないな・・・ということで申し込みました。

鳥羽だけに限ったことではないかもしれませんが、船旅中の島の岩肌が荘厳できれいだな、と感じました。
ぶっちゃけゲームの世界みたいだな、と。

また、ガイドさんも話しやすく、島の何気ない風景にも、いろいろな含蓄のある話を聞かせていただきました。

食堂のランチも、とても気さくなお姉さま方（姉妹とのこと）のお話も聞かせていただきました。
ご年配になっても、海女として活躍されているとのことで、実に若々しい！

ワイワイ楽しめる旅というのは、こういうことを言うのですね、
実によい体験をさせていただきました。

話し好き、いろんな場所の何気ない背景・歴史を知りたい好奇心の強い方はおススメかと思います。

When I think of Kasuga-taisha, I used to believe it was all about the "stone lanterns," but after participating in this special viewing, I was able to experience the beauty of the "hanging lanterns" as well. The sight of the hanging lanterns dedicated by famous historical warriors lined up closely together was truly overwhelming. It was a valuable experience.

春日大社と言えば「石燈籠」だと思い込んでいましたが、今回の特別拝観に参加して、「釣燈籠」の素晴らしさも体感する事が出来ました。歴史上の著名な武将たちの奉納した釣燈籠が所狭しと並ぶ様は、本当に圧倒されました。貴重な体験となりました。

For someone like me who loves sake, being able to drink as much as I want of it was a huge draw. Besides sake there were also fruit liquors (apple, peach, chestnut) which were a great palate freshener.
As it is a standing bar I was a bot worried about getting tired because I was wearing heels. But at each table they provided disposable slippers, which was awesome!
As you can bring in your own food, I recommend buying lots of your favorite snacks and yummy things to much while you try all the sake!!!

We started the tour in the lobby of our hotel, our guide took care of the transpiration and we arrived at the market area on time. while we toured the site she provided us with a lot of background regarding the types and the quality of different fishes. We ende the tour at nice sushi place and had an early lunch which was very niche! Absolut perfect morning - can recommend 100%

I used the day-trip hot spring and dumpling soup kaiseki meal plan. For lunch, the menu included small dishes, sashimi (sea bream), simmered dishes, chawanmushi, grilled rainbow trout, dumpling soup, pickles, and apple sorbet. Below are the points I appreciated and those I think could be improved.

■ Positive Points ■
- The portion sizes are generous enough to satisfy even those who eat a lot.
- The sashimi was satisfying, even for someone like me who usually enjoys delicious sashimi from Oita Prefecture.

■ Points for Improvement ■
- I wanted yuzu pepper for the dumpling soup, but it was not available on the table, and despite ringing the bell multiple times, the staff never came.
- There was no guidance about the bath after the meal, which left a disappointing "please go on your own..." feeling.
- Unable to wait for the bath information, I eventually asked the front desk staff, but they only informed me that "the bath is on the 2nd floor." I only noticed the separate outdoor bath by a sign just before leaving. It felt unkind.
- Perhaps because it was lunchtime, the temperature of the separate outdoor bath was too hot to enter comfortably.
- I couldn't find a valuables box in the bath area, and I think it's important for those using only the lunch plan to have proper valuables management. However, there was no information provided about this, which I found unsatisfactory.
- Despite having already paid by credit card through the VELTRA plan, I was charged again at the front desk when leaving. Moreover, it was a different amount than what was quoted by VELTRA, which caused significant distrust. (Because of this ending, my evaluation of the delicious food was ruined.)

This may come off as a harsh evaluation, but I want to express my honest opinion for the sake of your facility. I have used many hot springs and inns, including those in Oita Prefecture, but I felt considerable dissatisfaction and discomfort. I believe a review of customer service and reception responses would be beneficial.

*I have posted this after thoroughly reading the participant experience terms and conditions.*

日帰り温泉&団子汁会席料理プランを利用しました。
昼食は、小鉢、刺身(鯛)、炊き合わせ、茶碗蒸し、ニジマス塩焼、団子汁、漬物、りんごシャーベットの内容です。
以下、良かった点と改善していただきたいと思う点です。
■良かった点■
・料理の量は多く食べる方でも満足していただける。
・刺身は普段大分県のおいしい刺身を食べている私としても満足。
■改善していただきたいと思った点■
・団子汁に関して柚子こしょうが欲しかったが、卓上になく、ベルを何度も鳴らしても結局最後までスタッフが来なかった。
・食事を食べた後の、お風呂についての案内が全くなく、「勝手に行ってください・・・」感がが残念。
・お風呂の案内を待ちきれず、結局フロントのスタッフに声をかけたが、「お風呂は2Fにあります」としか案内されず、別の独立した露天風呂は、帰る間際に看板で気づいた。不親切。
・お昼の時間だったからかもしれないが、独立した露天風呂は湯温が熱く、とても入れるものではありませんでした。
・お風呂に貴重品BOXが見当たらず、お昼のプランのみ利用する方には、貴重品管理が大事だと思う。しかし貴重品管理の案内がなされておらず、不満に感じた。
・VELTRAのプランで一度クレジットカード支払いしているにも関わらず、帰りにフロントで代金を請求された。しかもVELTRAの料金ではない料金の請求であったため、かなりの不信感を覚えた。(終わりがこれだったから、折角の美味しい料理の評価が台無し)

辛口評価と言われるかもしれませんが、貴施設のためを思って、本音を言わせていただきます。
当方、これまで大分県内をはじめ、多くの温泉地、旅館を利用してきましたが、かなりの不満・不快感を感じました。接客をはじめ、受け入れ対応について、見直しをされた方がよいのではないかと思います。

I used the day trip plan this time. For lunch, the menu included small dishes, a two-type sashimi platter, simmered vegetables, chawanmushi, rainbow trout, dumpling soup, pickles, and sorbet. I tried the taro dumpling in the simmered vegetables for the first time, and it was very delicious. I think adding yuzu pepper to the dumpling soup enhances the flavor. The other dishes were average, but I felt full.

The bath has an indoor bath with an open-air bath and a separate open-air bath. The indoor bath had a very nice view, and since it was almost empty, I could leisurely enjoy the slightly slippery hot spring.

To get to the separate open-air bath, you have to go down quite a distance on an outdoor staircase. Along the way, you can see part of the men's bath, and the women's bath seems to be visible from the parking lot across the way, so I wouldn't recommend it for young women. Also, I think it would be better to have a room for resting. The day-use hot springs I have used before had considerations for guests, such as access to hotel rooms or resting areas even if the rooms weren't available. I wonder about the approach of just providing a meal and a bath and thinking that’s enough.

I am satisfied with having a full meal and enjoying the good-quality hot spring. Now, let's try to improve a bit more from the guest's perspective.

P.S. It seems that the Seven Stars train passes by. There was a timetable in the lobby.

　今回日帰りプランでの利用でした。
　昼食は、小鉢、刺身2種盛り、炊き合わせ、茶碗蒸し、虹鱒、団子汁、漬物、シャーベットという内容で、炊き合わせの里芋饅頭は初めて食べましたがとても美味しかった。団子汁は柚子胡椒を添えると味が締まると思います。他のお味は普通でしたがお腹いっぱいになりました。
　風呂は露天風呂付内湯と独立した露天風呂があります。内湯の方は景観がとてもよく、貸し切り状態だったこともあり、少しぬるっとした温泉をのんびり楽しむことができました。
　独立してある露天風呂の方は、外階段をかなりの距離を降りて行くことになります。途中、男風呂の中が一部見えますし、女性用は向かいの駐車場から見えそうな作りになっているので、若い女性にはおすすめできません。それから、休憩できるお部屋を用意した方がよいと思います。今まで利用したことのある日帰り温泉は、ホテルのお部屋が使えたり、部屋が使えなくても休憩所があったりと客に対しての心使いがありました。食事して、風呂に入ったからいいでしょ的な所はいかがなものかと思います。
　食事してお腹いっぱいになって、泉質のよいお風呂に入ってという所は満足です。あとは、客の立場に立ってもう少し頑張りましょう。
　追記：ななつ星が通過するようです。ロビーに時刻表がありました。

Wasn't sure about what to do on Friday night in Tokyo, and this seemed interesting. It was a little bit hard to find (make sure you print out the directions, unlike me!), but it was cool to enter this totally normal looking building and step out into the bar. There were lots of people having a good night out, and lots of other women, so my 3 friends and I felt comfortable. The sake bottles have colored dots that let you know what kind it is, which was helpful and they have the 'house rules' in English too. We bought lots of snacks at a convenience store and stayed for over 4 hours!
