It was a hot day, but I was able to spend time at the riverside terrace cooler than I expected. The food was delicious, and I enjoyed a charming riverside lunch. The fresh greenery of Takao was lovely. I also thought I would like to visit again during the autumn foliage season.

The shuttle bus was delayed by about 30 minutes due to an accident along the way. It didn't arrive even after 15 minutes past the scheduled time, so I contacted them to find out what was going on. If there was going to be a delay, it would have been reassuring to receive a notification from the inn before the departure time, so I deducted one star.

暑い日でしたが、川床で予想より涼しく過ごせました。お料理もおいしく、風情のある川床ランチをいただくことができました。
新緑の高雄は素敵でした。
また紅葉の季節にも訪れたいと思いました。

送迎バスが途中事故に巻き込まれたとかで、30分ほど遅れて到着。暑い中15分過ぎても来なかったのでこちらから連絡して状況がわかりました。
遅れるなら、出発時間までに旅館の方から予め連絡をいただけると安心して待つことができたので、★を一つ減らしました。

My wife and I enjoyed the meal overlooking the ocean. The squid and goto beef were especially good. All around a good deal and a great way to spend our first night on Goto! The staff were very friendly and attentive.

The grilled local fish seems to change daily, and during our visit, it was young yellowtail (nerigo). We were told it was freshly bought from the market that morning. The local fish and turban shell were pre-grilled so that we could eat them as soon as we arrived. They were fluffy and deliciously grilled. After that, we also enjoyed vegetables, meat (pork and beef), squid, and kankoro mochi. The cooking method is simple, just grilling over charcoal, but it really highlights the quality of the ingredients. We primarily ate it with homemade salt, but there was also soy sauce and yuzu pepper available. It was my first time trying Goto udon as well.

The staff came by regularly to check on us, so we could ask any questions. Unfortunately, the weather was bad, and the view wasn't great, but even so, we could hear the sound of the waves on the way from the parking lot to the restaurant. I can only imagine how beautiful it must be on a nice day. Goto is far away, but if I have the chance to visit again, I would love to come back and eat here.

地魚の炭火焼は毎日違うみたいで、私達の時はネリゴ（カンパチの若魚）でした。今朝市場で買ってきたものだと説明していただきました。私達が到着したらすぐに食べられるよう、地魚とサザエは事前に焼かれていました。ふわふわで美味しく焼けています。その後、野菜やお肉（豚と牛）、イカ、かんころ餅もいただきました。炭火で焼くだけというシンプルな調理法ですが、その分素材の良さがよく分かります。基本的には自家製の塩をつけて食べましたが、醤油、柚子胡椒もありました。五島うどんも初めて食べました。
お店の方が適宜様子を見にきてくださるので、なんでも質問できます。
今回は天気が悪く眺望はイマイチでしたが、それでも駐車場からお店に向かう途中、波の音が聞こえてきました。天気が良い日はさぞや…と思います。五島は遠いですが、再訪することがあったら、また食べに行きたいと思います。

There was so much food that we couldn't finish it all. The maiko came around to each table and chatted with us despite the heat. We were also able to watch the dance, which was fantastic.

I was late for the meeting time at Hanazono Station, but they turned back from another station to come pick me up.
We enjoyed a delicious bamboo shoot kaiseki meal by the beautiful riverbed with green maple leaves.
After the meal, we had time to stroll around nearby tourist attractions.
Next time, I would like to visit during the beautiful autumn foliage season.

花園駅の集合時間に遅れたが、他駅からＵターンして迎えに来てくれました。
青もみじが奇麗な川床で、美味しい筍会席をいただきました。
食後は近くの観光名所を散策する時間がありました。
次回は秋の紅葉が奇麗な時期に訪れたいと思います。

The location is fantastic, and I enjoyed dishes made with local ingredients while looking at the sea. Everything was fresh and delicious. The portions were large, and I took some home. Personally, I really liked the sweet potato mochi and squid.

ロケーションが最高で海を見ながら、ご当地の食材を活かしたお料理をいただきました。どれも新鮮で美味しかったです。量が多くて、持ち帰らせていただきました。私は個人的にかんころもちとイカが気に入りました。

I enjoyed a whole grilled horse mackerel over charcoal. The grilled squid with mayonnaise and yuzu pepper was a perfect match. The beautiful pork from Goto was also delicious. The staff were kind and explained the dishes to us.

アジ丸々１匹を炭火で焼いていただきました。焼いた水イカとマヨネーズ、柚子胡椒が相性抜群でした。
五島の美豚も美味しかったです。
店員さんが料理の説明をしてくれて親切でした。

After enjoying delicious dishes like tofu you and three-layer pork, I indulged in Ryukyu dance. I felt that the level of the Ryukyu dance was very high. It was the best to be able to take a commemorative photo with the dancer at the end.

豆腐よう･三枚豚などの美味しい食事の後に、琉球舞踊を堪能しました。
琉球舞踊のレベルもとても高く感じました。
最後に踊り子さんと記念写真も撮れて最高でした。

I chose a course that included appetizers and dessert, and each appetizer was carefully prepared. The main dish, flying fish hitsumabushi, was fluffy, and the two types of dessert were delicious without being overly sweet. I was satisfied with all the menu items. I would love to visit again!

前菜、デザートありのコースを選んだのですが、前菜一つ一つが丁寧で、メインの飛魚ひつまぶしもふわふわで、デザート2種類も甘すぎないおいしさで、全部のメニューに満足感がありました。
また訪れたいです！

Since I was able to take an earlier bus than planned, I arrived at the store quite early, but thank you for accommodating me so graciously. The portion was generous and it was very delicious. When I finished my meal and left the store, there was a sign saying that today's flying fish was sold out, so I think it's a good idea to make a reservation in advance.

予定よりも早いバスに乗れたため、お店到着がかなり早くなってしまいましたが、快く対応してくださり、ありがとうございました。
ボリュームもあり、大変美味しかったです。
食事が終わってお店を出た時に、本日のトビウオは売り切れましたの札が掲げられていたので、予約して行かれるのが確実でいいと思います。

This year's extreme heat made the riverside terrace surprisingly cool and impressive. The shuttle service was also great. I would like to use it again around autumn.

今年の酷暑の中、川床はびっくりするくらい涼しくて感動でした。送迎有もよかった。また秋ぐらいにも利用してみたいです。

During my short stay in Kyoto, I looked for experiences that would allow me to savor Japan. International guests prefer tours that are not solely for overseas visitors; they enjoy tours that Japanese customers can also appreciate.

The riverside setting wasn't cool, but it was a very lovely location where I could enjoy watching the maiko, making it a truly valuable experience. It became a wonderful memory for my family.

川床は涼しくはなかったですが、とても素敵なロケーションで
舞妓さんの鑑賞もでき、とても価値のある体験ができ嬉しかったです。
家族のいい思い出になりました。

The serving staff that took care of my table was very experienced with the food and did her best in explaining to me in English and with my limited Japanese (staff was fluent in Japanese and Spanish, but I was not, hehe). Was a very fun and educating on the food, how to eat and also the history of the cuisine. She paid attention to the table and served when she saw that we were finished with some plates. She was an older lady but I felt like she worked like a young lady.

Presentation of the food is done very beautifully, taste is delicious and well seasoned. Interesting tastes and combination of the culture of Okinawa.

The dancers were very elegant and skilled, I enjoyed all of their traditional dance styles and their garments. They were very well dressed and looked very cute up close when we were taking a picture.

Very thankful to the level of service, cleanliness, quality and quantity of food. I thoroughly enjoyed the tastes of Ryuku Cuisine.

Will come again if happen to visit Okinawa again and want to taste the food once more. Might bring more friends, too.

At a sunken hearth with a view of the ocean, I enjoyed local ingredients like seasonal fish, sea urchin, and Goto beef. They taught me how to grill and eat, so I was able to enjoy my meal slowly without feeling rushed. The grilled rice balls and kankoro mochi were fantastic.

海の見える掘りごたつで、旬の魚やサザエ、五島牛など地元食材万歳でした。
焼き方食べ方を教えていただけるので、焦ることなく　ゆっくり食事が出来ました。焼きおにぎりとかんころ餅サイコーでした。

I had the opportunity to watch the Ryukyu dance up close in the front row. After the performance, they prioritized photo opportunities for us over other group guests, which was a great value.

琉球舞踊を最前列近くで拝見しました。
終演後の写真撮影も他の団体客より優先してくださり、お値打ちがあります。

The grilled fish was also excellent. Even the kankoro mochi and Goto udon had a deliciousness that sets them apart from typical eateries. There are also stunning viewpoints nearby, so I think it will make for great memories.

I used the lunch set. When I visited, there happened to be no other customers, so I was able to enjoy my meal in a very quiet space while taking in the stunning view, which was wonderful. The staff were also very nice, so I would like to visit again the next time I go to Fukue Island. Thank you for the lovely time!

伺った際は偶然、他のお客さんもいなかった為、とても静かな空間で絶景を眺めながらの食事ができ、とても良かったです。
店員さんもとても良い方たちだった為、今度、福江島へ行く際はまたお邪魔したいと思います。

It was a wonderful place with beautiful greenery, the sound of the river, the chirping of insects, and the quiet sound of a flute. The staff at the shop suggested that I eat the grilled sweetfish starting from the head. I was a bit skeptical about that.

To my surprise, I didn't feel any bones at all; it was crispy and fragrant, and the flesh was tender. When I shared my thoughts with the staff, they explained that the reason you can eat it from the head is due to the size of the sweetfish and the fact that it is grilled slowly over charcoal. I was convinced. It was the most delicious grilled sweetfish I've ever had. After the meal, I strolled around while chatting with my friends, dipping my feet in the cold river water. It became a fun and delicious memory. Thank you!

美しい緑、川のせせらぎ、虫の声、静かな笛の音、素晴らしい場所でした。
お店の方が、鮎の塩焼きを、どうぞ頭から召し上がって下さいと言われました。頭からとは、と半信半疑でした。
食べてびっくり、全く骨を感じず、パリパリと香ばしく身はふっくら、お店の方に感想をお話すると、頭から食べられるのは、鮎の大きさと、炭火でじっくり焼いているからです。と教えてくださり、納得でした。今までで、一番美味しかった鮎の塩焼きでした。食後は、友人たちとおしゃべりしながら、散策。冷たい川の水に足を浸したり。楽しく、美味しい思い出になりました。ありがとうございました!

My relatives from abroad came to Japan. Since it was their first time in Kyoto, I wanted to create a special memory, so I made a reservation. My child and I had just traveled to Kyoto five months ago, so I thought it would be nice to experience something we wouldn't normally do on a typical trip. Since it was summer, we opted for a riverside dinner. I had always wanted to go to a riverside dining experience in Kyoto during the summer. I planned it as a surprise for my relatives without explaining the details of the dinner, as it was also a day when they could meet a maiko.

The sukiyaki we chose was very generous in portion. The meat was tender and delicious. The riverside was cool, and the sound of insects was refreshing. The lanterns reflected beautifully on the river surface, adding to the ambiance. The charming maiko greeted us with a smile, and we were able to take many photos. The staff were also quick to take pictures for us and were very accommodating with refills of tea and other requests. The bus driver was also very friendly. My foreign relatives and my child loved it, and it was a great decision. Being able to see the maiko's dance up close created wonderful memories. I would love to go again!

海外からの親戚が来日。初めての京都ということで、何か特別な思い出になれば、と申し込みました。同行する私と子供は５ヶ月前に京都旅行をしたばかり。。私たちにとっても普通の京都旅行では経験しないことを、と思い、夏ということもあり、川床の夕食にしました。夏に京都に行くなら川床にいきたい、と常々おもっていました。舞妓さんにも会える日程ということで、親戚にはどんな夕食か詳しく説明せず、サプライズにしました。
選んだすき焼きはボリュームたっぷり。お肉も柔らかく美味しい。川床も涼しく、虫の声が涼しげ。川面に写る提灯も情緒たっぷり。そして可愛らしい舞妓さんがにこやかに応対してくれ、写真もたくさんとらせていただきました。スタッフのかたも写真を撮ってくれたり、お茶などのおかわりも、すぐ快く対応してくれました。バスの運転手さんもとても愛想のいいかたでした。外国人の親戚にも、子供にも大好評で、大正解でした。舞妓さんの踊りを間近で見ることができ、素敵な思い出になりました。またぜひ行きたいです！

I wonder how it is in this intense heat with temperatures exceeding 35 degrees for several days. Contrary to my worries, the riverside was very cool with a nice breeze. I'm not a fan of river fish, but I ate the grilled young sweetfish whole, starting from the head. The skin was delicious, and I didn't mind the bones at all. Enjoying a beer while listening to the sound of the river was delightful. It's definitely summer in Japan from the afternoon.

I used a shuttle for the outbound trip. For the return, I took the city bus for 230 yen (though it takes some time). I was disappointed that I didn't realize how convenient the bus was, as I didn't have a sense of the distance between the city and Takao. I would have appreciated it if there had been some information about that somewhere.

I also visited the "Bird and Beast Caricatures" (it's 1000 yen per person), and I was able to spend time leisurely without encountering many overseas visitors.

連日35度越えの猛暑の中どうなんだろう。
そんな心配をよそに川床は、風が抜けて非常に涼しく過ごさせていただきました。　
川魚は苦手ですが稚鮎の塩焼きは頭から食べました。皮目が美味く骨も気にならず美味しくいただきました。川の音を聞きながらビールをゴクリ。
昼から日本の夏ですね。
往路は送迎を利用しました。復路は230円の市バスを利用(時間かかりますけど)。市内と高雄までの距離感がわからずバスが便利なことが判らず残念。どこかに記述いただけたら嬉しかったです。
鳥獣戯画も見学して(お一人様1000円ですけど)
海外の方ともほぼ合わずゆっくりと過ごさせていただきました。

The weather was cloudy, but amidst the greenery and the flow of the river, the staff kept their distance, allowing us to enjoy a leisurely time together. Also, I was surprised at how affordable the alcoholic beverages were. Since I tend to enjoy a lot, I was really happy about that!

お天気は、曇りでしたが、緑と川の流れの中、女中さんも、距離をとっていてくれて、2人で、ゆっくりとした時間が取れました。後、アルコール類が、結構、お安くて、驚きました。沢山、頂く方なので、嬉しかったですねー。

I applied for this plan to avoid the crowds. The plan with transportation was very helpful. We were blessed with good weather, and both the scenery and the food exceeded our expectations! The blue and red leaves were beautiful, and I was able to enjoy the long-awaited riverbed cuisine.

On my first trip to Yakushima, I found out about the Jomon Sugi tour while making a reservation with VELTRA, and I was curious, so I also made a reservation with Katagiri. The interior was very clean and had a great atmosphere. When I arrived and said my name, they guided me right away! Both the appetizer and the hitsumabushi were incredibly delicious ☺︎ The bonito dashi was the best! The pasta and other menu items also looked delicious, and I was very interested in them! I definitely want to visit again when I go back to Yakushima (*^▽^*) Thank you very much ♡

初の屋久島旅行、でベルトラさんで縄文杉ツアーを予約した際に知り、気になったのでかたぎりさんも予約させてもらいました。
店内もとてもキレイで雰囲気が良かったです。
伺って名前を言ったらすぐに案内して下さりました！

The food, service, and location were very good. Since it's a style where you cook for yourself, you can enjoy it at your own pace, and it's hot and delicious. The Goto beef and Goto udon were tasty. The parking area is a bit difficult to park in as it’s an open field without lines, so the parking lot at the local product center below is a safer option.

It was a wonderful place where you could enjoy a wide variety of local dishes from Goto all in one spot, along with beautiful scenery. Every ingredient and dish was very delicious.

五島の地の物を、１か所で幅広く食べられて、景色も堪能できる素敵なお店でした。どの食材、料理もとても美味しかったです。

I was told that the private room on the second floor can be used if the cost is 6,600 yen or more per person, so I made a change. It had quite a luxurious feel.

2階の個室は1人6600円以上ならば使って良いと言われ、変更しました。
かなりセレブ感がありました。

I had a great time. I wondered how the locations for watching the maiko performances are decided. The two participants were closer, while those with three or four people were at the ends, which felt a bit awkward.

とても楽しかったです。舞妓さんの舞を観れる場所が、どうやって決まるのか❓と❓思いました。二人参加の方が近くて，3人4人の人達は、端の場所でしたので、少し違和感を感じました。

The menu allowed us to fully enjoy the ingredients from Goto. The grilled fish (on this day, it was Isaki) and the turban shell were prepared on the irori in advance, so we could eat them right after being seated. The fish was fluffy with just the right amount of salt, and the turban shell was plump and delicious—absolutely the best. Additionally, we enjoyed vegetables and squid with kan-koro mochi on the irori. The amount of squid was astonishing, piled up as if to say, "Is this really okay!?" I had expected the Goto udon to be warm, but it was served with a cold broth. It was refreshing and smooth to eat. The homemade nigari ice cream at the end was also delicious with just the right amount of sweetness. Thank you for the meal! Tsubaki Chaya is located on a slightly elevated area, with the beautiful Kouzuki Beach right in front—such a fantastic location where you can enjoy delicious food along with a stunning view of the sea. After the meal, we stopped by the nearby Kouzuki Goto Tsubaki Product Center to buy souvenirs. The soft serve ice cream, which changes flavors every week, is also highly recommended!

五島の素材をたっっっぷり堪能できるメニューでした。焼き魚（この日はイサキ）とサザエは事前に囲炉裏にかけてくれていたので、着席後すぐ食べられました。ホクホクの白身で程よい塩加減のお魚とぷりっぷりのサザエ、最高でした。その他、お野菜とイカとかんころ餅も囲炉裏でいただきます。イカの量が凄まじかったです。こんなにいいんですか！？というほど盛られていました。五島うどんは温かいものを想定していましたが、冷たいお汁でした。つるつるさっぱりいただくことができました。最後の自家製にがりアイスも程よい甘さで美味しかったです。ごちそうさまでした！椿茶屋さんはやや小高い場所にあり、目の前は香珠子海水浴場という最高のロケーション。美味しいお食事と一緒に美しい海も望むことができます。
食事後は近くにある香珠子五島椿物産館に寄ってお土産を購入しました。毎週フレーバーが変わるというソフトクリームもおすすめです！

The food was delicious, and the view was absolutely stunning. The maiko were also adorable, making for a truly luxurious experience. The staff were attentive and provided courteous service. I definitely want to go again!

お料理も美味しく、なんといっても景色が最高、そして舞妓さんも可愛く、大変贅沢な思いをさせて頂きました。お店の方も気が利き、丁寧な対応をしてくださいました。是非また行きたいです！！

I have been to the riverside dining areas in Kamogawa and Kibune in the past, and in terms of the scale of the facilities and the distance to the water, it was somewhere in between Kamogawa and Kibune. The blue maple leaves were beautiful.

Since I went on a Monday, and perhaps due to the COVID-19 situation, it was quite empty, which allowed for a relaxing experience. However, I felt that the quality of the food was rather modest for the price. I assume that profits have decreased due to COVID-19, and maintaining the facilities likely incurs costs, so I understand the situation.

On the positive side, the restroom inside the riverside area was surprisingly nice. I didn't have high expectations given the location, but it turned out to be a surprisingly clean flush toilet.

過去に鴨川の納涼床、貴船の川床に行ったことがありますが、設備の規模及び水との距離の点では鴨川と貴船の中間といったところでした。青モミジが奇麗でした。
行ったのが月曜で、コロナの問題もあるからか、かなり空いており、ゆっくりできたのは良かったのですが、料理内容は価格の割に大分質素な感じがしました。コロナで利益が減っただろうし、設備の維持にも費用が掛かると推察されるので、仕方がないだろうとは思いました。
逆に良かったのは川床内にあったトイレです。場所だけにあまり期待していなかったのですが、意外に奇麗な水洗トイレでした。
