Before using the service, I was worried that although it was a five-seater, the seats might be too cramped for five people and that there might not be enough trunk space. However, while three men in the back seat might feel a bit tight, three women were fine. I think three medium-sized suitcases can fit in the trunk. We had one large suitcase, one medium suitcase, one small suitcase, and some shopping bags from the supermarket. The additional driver was free, and the extra insurance for full coverage was reasonably priced at 1,080 yen for 24 hours. Camper Van Rental in Central Tokyo

Great trip, smooth service, but a minor technical problem.

Rented the car and all went very well, went to see the Nippara Limestone Cave and the Tokyo forest beautiful scenery. This car rental company made the whole process very easy going, asking for information in advanced and answering a question we had about our pets.
Even though they didn't speak english very well, they tried and help me with the process. Making follow ups to the enquiries and setting everything up.
We got to the meeting point to pick up the van outside train station and we didn't need to do a long paper work proces like other car rentals, as they asked for all that information in advanced. We just picked the vehicle up, had to check its condition and they explained how everything worked in the inside (this part was in Japanese to my wife).
The trip went well, even though we chose an old van model, it was clean, well taken care of (with a few minor scratches, which I honestly didn't catch 'till I look closely) and big enough for at least a big family of 5 or 6 (but we were only 2, so it was spacious enough).
Kept going on our tour, went up to the mountain, but with a heavy car, it was a little slow. Getting closer to the end of the day, we were looking for a place to park at night, so no need for a hotel or a camping site, convenient.
At the parking space, it got cold and decided to turn on the heater, to our surprise, the heater worked only for a few minutes and the switch started to blink and stopped. Tried for a second time, but the same result, it stopped and didn't warm the van up.
Due to the cold weather and the heater not working, we couldn't sleep, so decided to change the schedule and leave in the middle of the night to look for a place where to eat a warm meal and warm us up.
Went back to the city 30 minutes in advanced to the meeting time and they were already there waiting for us. So, besides that minor detail, everything went perfectly, next time we will take more blankets, but I recommend the company for a good service.

Camper Van Rental in Central Tokyo

Our amazing trip to Nikko with a camper for 36 hours

We got tired of hotel visits and decided to stay mobile this time. We opted for renting a camping car, this time to Nikko. After booking a Nissan Carbby through Veltra a nice lady from the rental car company called to confirm the details. My English isn't good enough so we agreed on corresponding via email. On the day of our adventure we were explained all the details and functionality of a nice and clean camper. It comes with everything you need but make sure to bring your own bed sheets, blankets and pillows. Plus necessary cooking utensils. Basically anything you'd need for a regular camping trip. And don't forget your ETC card if you're planning on using the highway. The car was surprisingly smooth to drive. It was a rainy day so we made a few stops along our way. We turned up the heater and cooked a few easy meals. A small cooker with a gas cartridge is being supplied by the company. It was cozy and we were happy to stay inside while watching TV during our breaks. Once arrived at Nikko, we enjoyed sightseeing, visiting temples and hopping into hot springs. It was nice to know that wherever we parked our car, we could find shelter from the rain, cook an easy meal or just relax in one of the spacious beds. During the night it got cold (November​ - April) but the extra heating system kept us warm. That's a major plus for all female travellers. Returning the van was smooth too. While we were transferring our belongings back to our car, a staff member inspected the camper for any damages and forgotten items. After such a sweet experience, staying flexible during travel, I'd say this should be on your to-do list if money is of no concern or when travelling with 6+ people around Japan.

大阪駅のすぐ近くの込み合う場所にあるレンタカーなので、不便かとおもいましたが、
実際は地下からでて、道になりに進み一回の信号を曲がるだけで高速にもはいれたので、
意外と便利でした。

ただ今回はスタッフさんの対応がいまいちでした。
支払いについてveltraから申し込みしてるのですでにクレジットカードで支払い済なのに、
現地でもクレジットカードを切るよういわれました。
担当者かオペレータセンターが間違っていたようで、ポイント利用も反映できていません。
15分くらい確認にかかりようやく、理解いただき、クレジットもきりなおして返金処理です。
余裕をもって30分前についたのにぎりぎりの出発でした。

そのほかは特に問題なし、車もヴィッツの最新のナビや装備がついており、
快適に走行できました。出発も返却場所も地下になるので、出発時に地下への入り口をナビに登録しているとスムーズにかえれるかとおもいます。

大阪から出発が必要な時はまた利用させていただくかもしれません
