We requested an 8-hour tour from Naha City to visit the Churaumi Aquarium and Kouri Island, and then to the Okinawa Arena for a concert. Choosing a sightseeing taxi was the right decision for us since we couldn't drive. Although we had given up on the optional tour to the Churaumi Aquarium due to time constraints because of the concert, we not only got to visit the aquarium but also stopped at a beautiful viewpoint of Kouri Island. Additionally, we were taken to a lovely traditional house restaurant for lunch, and we were very satisfied with the sightseeing taxi experience.

I didn't know there was an aquarium near Kyoto Station. Since it's in the city and starts with freshwater fish, I thought it might be underwhelming, but it was compact and quite enjoyable. There were sea lions and seals, and you can leisurely watch them. There were also dolphins and penguins. The dolphin show is outdoors, and there are plenty of seats in both upper and lower sections. The lower section is designated as wet seating. I couldn't catch the show due to timing, but I'm curious about how intense it was.

I was looking forward to the Hozu River boat ride. I had a reservation for the 10 AM departure, but since I arrived early at the boarding area, I was able to change to the 9 AM departure. To my surprise, the boat had Makita fans installed at the front and back! I heard that the boatman had personally set them up as a trial. With temperatures exceeding 38°C in Kyoto, having fans made a huge difference, even at 9 AM! We were able to enjoy the nearly two-hour river ride comfortably. Besides the two of us, everyone else on the boat was from overseas, and the boatmen explained various things in easy-to-understand English with a touch of humor. It was enjoyable to listen to them. The boat's convenience store was also operating, and I was able to indulge in the oden I wanted to try. On that day, there hadn't been much rain for a long time, so the water level in the river was quite low, and the boatmen had to rely on their own strength for the ride. It was unfortunately rainy, but they made sure to help us stay as dry as possible from the moment they picked us up. Since we were from out of town and didn't know the meeting place, we were truly grateful that they parked the car and came to meet us on foot. Even with changes to our plans along the way, they guided us to other places, and the three of us were very satisfied.
