It was a very comfortable boat trip, arriving at the Goto Islands in no time in a clean interior like that of the Shinkansen. Thanks to the favorable weather on the day, I hardly felt any rocking.

新幹線のような清潔な車内で、あっという間に五島列島まで到着するのでとても快適な船旅でした。
当日天候に恵まれたこともあり、揺れもほとんど感じませんでした。

The ship had vending machines, and I was able to enjoy a relaxed journey. Although I was in second class, the space was divided by boarding location, allowing for a decent amount of space. If you want to relax, second class might be a good option.

船内には自動販売機もあり、ゆったりとした船旅を楽しめました。
2等でしたが、乗船地によってスペースが分けられておりある程度のスペースは確保できました。ゆったりしたい方は2等指定がいいかもしれません。

Boarded on November 21. It was a busy season, and the waiting room was crowded with people for the 12:00 reservation, but my name was called at 12:15, so I was glad I made a reservation. Since it had rained the night before, the water level was high, making it easier to paddle. We arrived at Arashiyama in an hour and a half instead of the planned two hours, which allowed us to make it in time for our lunch reservation afterward. The autumn leaves seemed to be at their peak, and there were thrills and laughter, plus we enjoyed the nearby food boats. I was very satisfied. Seats are assigned. Since there are four people per row, it might feel a bit cramped if there is a larger person.

11月21日乗船。繁忙期で、12:00の予約で待合室はたくさんの人でしたが、12:15には名前を呼ばれて乗ることができ、予約をしていて良かったです。前夜が雨だったため増水していて漕ぎやすいとのこと、2時間の予定が1時間半で嵐山に到着し、その後の予約の昼食にも間に合いました。紅葉もピークかなと思われましたが、スリルあり、笑いあり、並走の屋台船も楽しめました。満足です。席は指定されます。一列に4人相席なので、大きい人がいると少し窮屈かもしれません。

It was a series of clear days, and although the water level was the lowest of the season, we finished our boat trip in 1 hour and 40 minutes. Three boatmen took turns guiding us from the bow, middle, and stern, and each of them engaged us in very enjoyable conversations, making the time fly by without a dull moment. Shortly after departure, there was a bit of fog and it was cold enough to need a down jacket, but it cleared up along the way, and we had a pleasantly warm and comfortable ride down the river. It was truly a great experience.

晴天続きで、今シーズンで最も少ない水量とのことでしたが、1時間40分で船旅を終了しました。3人の船頭さんが交代で船首、中ほど、船尾と持ち場を変えての案内でしたが、どの方も、とても楽しい会話で飽きることなくお客さんを楽しませて、時間があっという間に過ぎていきました。出発直後は、やや霧が立ち込めダウンを必要とする寒さでしたが、途中から快晴となり、ポカポカとした丁度良い快適な川下りとなりました。本当に良い経験でした。

I had a wonderful time enjoying the boatman's stories while admiring the scenery and the autumn leaves. There were also thrilling moments as we navigated through the rapids, which added to the fun.

船頭さんの話を楽しみながら、景色や紅葉を眺めて、大変よい時間が過ごせました。激流を下るスリルも所々あり、楽しめました。

I wanted to see the autumn leaves, but my 82-year-old mother has difficulty walking. I thought we could enjoy it without walking if we took a boat, so we participated together. My mother was worried, saying, "I can't swim," but the boatman reassured her, saying, "You definitely won't sink, so it's okay." We enjoyed the autumn leaves from the river, felt the terrain from the front to the back of the mountain, and had a great time laughing at the boatman's guidance and stories. We bought grilled squid and dango from the shop on the boat. Eating on the boat was exceptionally delicious! The two hours flew by. The three boatmen, sweating as they rowed, entertained us and looked really cool!

紅葉を見たいけど、歩くのが大変な82歳の母。船なら歩かずに楽しめると思い親子で参加。
「泳げないんだけど」と、不安になっていた母に「絶対沈没せえへんから大丈夫」と船頭さんに言われひと安心。川の上からの紅葉を楽しみ、山の表から裏へ地形を感じ、船頭さんのガイドとトークに大笑い。売店の船で購入したイカ焼きと団子。船の上で食べるのは格別に旨い！あっという間の２時間でした。
船頭さん３人衆が、汗だくで漕ぎながらも私達を楽しませて下さり、カッコ良かったですよ♪

In mid-November, I made a reservation due to it being the best season for autumn leaves. The Hozu River boat ride offered beautiful scenery, and the boatmen's stories were entertaining. Although we got splashed with water, it was thrilling, and I felt it was worth the ride. However, despite making a reservation, we had to wait for an hour due to the crowds. In the end, whether you have a reservation or not, you end up waiting the same amount of time upon arrival. I would appreciate it if adjustments could be made so that those who reserved in advance can depart within 15 minutes of their scheduled time.

For those who can schedule after the Hozu River boat ride, I recommend making reservations with ample time during this season.

11月中旬、紅葉ベストシーズンゆえに、予約しました。保津川下りは景色も良く、船頭さんたちの話も面白く、水がかかりますがスリリングでもあり乗って良かったと思います。しかし、せっかく予約したのに混雑で１時間待たされました。結局予約しても、しなくても到着したら同じ様に待たされます。せめて、事前に予約した分には、予約時間から15分以内には出発できるように調整をお願いしたいです。
保津川下りのあと、予定を入れられるかたは、この時期だけは余裕のある時間で予約を入れることをおすすめします。

The weather was great, and the autumn leaves were perfect. The three boatmen were handsome, funny, and we had a wonderful time.

お天気もよく、紅葉もバッチリで最高でした。
船頭さん３人ともイケメンで、おもろいし楽しい時間でした。

After a 10-minute ride on the JR train from Saga-Arashiyama Station, I arrived at Kameoka Station. It took about 5 to 6 minutes on foot to reach the boarding area while seeing Kyocera Stadium on my right.

After completing the check-in, I was guided to the boat in less than 10 minutes of waiting, and the adventure of the Hozu River boat ride began. The skilled navigation and chatter of the three boatmen entertained all the passengers on board.

The colorful autumn leaves were vibrant, and everyone was taking lots of photos. The excitement of getting splashed with water while going down the rapids was also fun, making it a memorable 1 hour and 50-minute boat journey.

Thank you to the boatmen from that time!

嵯峨嵐山駅からJRで10分亀岡駅に到着。京セラスタジアムを右手に見ながら徒歩5,6分で乗場です。
受付を済ませ、待つこと10分足らずで舟に案内され、いよいよ保津川下りの始まりです。3人の船頭さんの巧みな操船とお喋りが満員の乗船客を楽しませてくれます。
色付いた紅葉は目にも鮮やかで、皆さん写真を撮りまくっていました。
急流を下る時には全身水を被るハプニングも楽しく、一生心に残る1時間50分の船旅でした。
あの時の船頭さん、ありがとうございました。

You will go down the river in about 1 hour and 30 to 50 minutes. There aren't many rapids, but it's fun. The guide's narration is enjoyable (in Japanese only). About two-thirds to three-quarters of the passengers are foreigners. Passengers are quite close to each other in the front, back, and sides, so those who are sensitive may want to avoid it.

急流はあまりありません。が楽しいです。
船頭さんの案内も楽しい(日本語のみ)
乗客は外国人が2/3～3/4くらいの比率です。
前後横と乗客同士はかなり密です。神経質な方は乗らないほうがいいでしょう

I was able to enjoy a wonderful view of the autumn leaves at their peak! Although it was just under two hours, it felt much shorter than expected. I took a lot of photos and enjoyed the boatman's stories, and before I knew it, we had arrived at the destination.

紅葉の見頃でとても素敵な景色を楽しむことが出来ました！2時間弱と長時間でしたが、思ったよりもあっという間でたくさん写真を撮って、船頭さんのお話を楽しんでいたらゴール時点に到着しました。

Transportation options on the island are limited, so it was helpful to have a shuttle bus available from Narao Port to Arikawa.

島の移動手段は限られるので、奈良尾港に着いてから有川までのシャトルバスが利用出来るのは助かりました。

I'm glad I chose a twin room. I was worried that using the shower might be difficult, but I was able to use it relatively comfortably.

ツインの個室にして良かったです。
シャワー利用も難しいかなと思っていたのですが、割合ゆっくり利用出来ました。

I used the jet foil round trip from Nagasaki Port to Fukue Port in the Goto Islands. There were discounts available, and the boarding process was simple and easy. However, when making the reservation, I had to process the outbound and return tickets separately, which was a bit confusing as I wasn't sure why it couldn't be done in one go. Also, I would appreciate it if you could explain the meaning of "voucher" in parentheses, as technical terms can be difficult for the general public to understand.

長崎港から五島列島福江港までジェットホイルを往復で使用しました。割引もありまた、乗船手続きが簡単でらくでした。予約時に往復の購入手続きで行きと帰りと別々に処理しなくてはならなかったので一度でできないのか分かりづらかった。また、バウチャーの意味をかっこ書きで説明して欲しい。専門用語は一般人には分かりづらいです。

The autumn leaves were about a week earlier than usual, and the weather on the day was pleasantly sunny, making it a thoroughly enjoyable tour! I highly recommend it to everyone.

例年よりも一週間ほど紅葉が早く、当日は穏やかな晴天だったこともあり、満喫したツアーでした♪皆さんにお勧めしたいです

I had the experience in early November when the autumn leaves were at their peak. We departed at 10 AM, and I was very moved to see the moment when the fog cleared. Also, the boatman's funny talk brought a lot of laughter. I thought this was a typical Kansai-style comedic response.

紅葉がちょうど見ごろとなる１１月初旬に体験させて貰いました。１０時発で出発したのですが、霧が晴れていく瞬間が見れてとても感動しました。あと、船頭さんの面白トークが笑いを誘っていましたね。これは、関西人らしいツッコミだと思いました。

I joined thinking it would just be a relaxing boat ride while enjoying the scenery, and I was looking forward to eating oden at the end! However, there were three boatmen who provided explanations and stories throughout the trip✨ Since I was at the very front, I was able to engage in conversation and had an amazing time‼️ More than anything, the explanations were great, but the jokes and banter made it incredibly entertaining. It rained, but I think that added a unique touch to the experience, making it a memorable one in a different way‼️ I will definitely go again.

ただ船に乗って揺られながら景色をみて、最後におでんとか食べるのが楽しみなやつ！と思い込んで参加しました。が、船頭さん３人居て終始説明やお話をしてくれました✨1番前だったのもあって、会話も出来てものすごく楽しめました‼️なにより、説明もそうだけど、冗談やツッコミもあって最高に面白かったです雨だったけど、それもなかなか味わえないかと思うので違った形で思い出になりました‼️また絶対行きます

I participated with my mother. I handed over a list of places we wanted to visit, and we were taken in an efficient order.

We were able to go to an Okinawa soba shop located deep in the mountains, which made us very satisfied.

The driver was easy to talk to, and it was fun!

It's a shame the weather was bad, but I would like to use this service again.

I had previously taken the trolley train, but due to my travel schedule, I couldn't board the Hozu River boat ride. This time, I managed to join the schedule mainly focused on the Hozu River descent. I have experienced rafting and various river descents, but this time the water level on the Hozu River was the lowest of the year, allowing for a leisurely boat trip to Togetsukyo Bridge.

I boarded from the second seat on the right side, and unexpectedly, I was splashed by waves, leaving my lower body completely soaked. However, that became a wonderful memory of the trip. Next time, I definitely want to board on a day with a higher water level. Thank you for the truly enjoyable memories!

以前よりトロッコ列車に乗車はしておりましたが、旅行日程の都合で保津川下りには乗船することが出来ず、今回保津川下りメインのスケジュールで何とか乗船することができました
ラフティングやあらゆる川下りを体験して来ましたが、保津川の川下りは今回水量が今年一番の少なさということで、渡月橋までのんびりとした船旅を満喫出来ました
私の乗船した場所は前から2番目の右側で途中思いもやらぬ波の洗礼を受け右下半身ずぶ濡れになりましたが、それも旅の良い思い出となりました
次回は水量の多い日に是非乗船したいと思います。
本当に楽しい思い出ありがとうございました

The penguin parade and dolphin show were adorable. I didn't have high expectations for the sardine performance based on the name, but I was very impressed by the sardines swimming beautifully, sparkling and shining.

ペンギンのパレードやイルカのショーが可愛かったです。イワシのパフォーマンスは名前でそんな期待をしてなかったのですが、キラキラとひかり美しく泳ぐイワシにとても感動しました。

I ordered the cake set just before closing and hurriedly ate it, so next time I want to enjoy the cake set slowly and take my time to enjoy the view. The cake set was delicious!

閉館ギリギリだったので急いでケーキセットを注文して慌てて食べたので、次回はゆっくりケーキセットを味わって、ゆっくり展望したいです。ケーキセット美味しかったです！

The autumn leaves are still a little while away. There are some areas that are starting to change color. Therefore, it wasn't crowded. The stories from the boatmen were enjoyable. It seems the water level was a bit low, so we were on the boat for about an hour and 45 minutes. However, we did get splashed a little. When the boatman signals, everyone on the left and right should definitely lift their seats. I get seasick on the ocean, but not on the river. (^.^) Next time, I would like to visit during the peak season for the autumn leaves.

なので、混雑していませんでした。
船頭さん方のお話楽しかったです。
水量が少なめだったらしく１時間４５分位乗船してました。
でも、少し水かかりました。左右の人は船頭さんの合図がかかったら必ずシート上げてね。
海では船酔いをしますが、川はしないですね。(^.^)

I was able to participate on a day blessed with wonderful weather!
I didn't feel cold because I was wearing a down coat.
I prepared a waterproof case to take photos, but it wasn't dangerous enough to risk submersion.
If the timing is right, you can take pictures of the trolley and the autumn foliage scenery!

ダウンコートを着ていたため、寒さは感じませんでした。
写真を撮りたいため、防水ケースを用意しましたが、水没しそうなほど危険はありませんでした。
タイミングが合えば、トロッコと紅葉の景色を写真に撮ることができます！

It was my first experience, and I had a lot of fun. Since the water level was low, it was slow-paced, but that was actually good because I had children with me. Next time, I hope to challenge myself when the water level is higher.

I was recommended by a friend to definitely experience the Hozu River Boat Ride if I came to Kyoto during this season, so I made a reservation. My reservation was for 11:00, but when I arrived at the boarding area at 9:45, I received number 42 and was called right away, so I was on the boat by 10:00! I think there were more than 20 people on each boat. The boatman kept us entertained with humorous stories throughout the approximately two-hour ride, and we were laughing the whole time. It was the beginning of the autumn leaves, and the contrast of the green and yellow leaves below with the red leaves above was very beautiful. One highlight was when the boatman walked along the edge of the boat to switch places, and it was just perfect timing when the vendor boat came alongside selling beer and sweet sake. Moreover, I was sitting towards the back, and I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to hear the boatman’s stories, but the boatman at the back also provided explanations, which made me very happy. When disembarking, he took my hand to help me down, and I was impressed, thinking, “This is what ‘going above and beyond’ means!” The Hozu River Boat Ride smoothly guided tourists, delighted them, moved them, and left them satisfied. Thank you very much.

友人からこの時期に京都に来るなら絶対に保津川下りを体験して！と勧められて予約しました。11時の予約でしたが9時45分に乗船場に着いたら、42番と言う番号を貰ってすぐに呼んでいただいて10時に船に乗っていた！と思います。一艘に20人以上は乗っていたと思います。船頭さんはおよそ２時間の川下りの間、お客様を飽きさせないように漫談のようなお喋りをして下さってずっと笑いっぱなしでした。紅葉の初めだったのですが、もみじの下が緑、黄色、上だけ紅に紅葉しているコントラストがとても綺麗でした。途中で船頭さんが船のヘリを歩いて交替するのも見どころですし、売店船が並走してビールや甘酒を売ってくれるのも丁度頃合いが良かったです。そして、何よりも私は後ろの方の座席だったのですが、お喋りする船頭さんのお話しが聞き取りにくいんじゃないかと心配していたら、後ろの船頭さんも説明をしてくださってとても嬉しかったです。下船の際には中高年の私の手を取って下ろして下さって、「至れり尽くせり！」とはこの事だわ〜‍♀️と関心しました。観光客をスムーズに案内し、喜ばせ、感動させ、満足させてくれる保津川下りでした。有難うございました。
