It was a highly satisfying tour where I could fully enjoy the natural beauty of Miyako Island. The clarity of the ocean was beyond my expectations, and I was thrilled to see sea turtles up close while snorkeling! The Pumpkin Cave was even more impressive in person than in photos, and spending time in that quiet space was very pleasant. The canoeing was physically manageable, allowing us to leisurely enjoy the scenery as we progressed. The guide's explanations and attentiveness were just right, which made me feel secure throughout the tour—this left a great impression! My wife and I participated in a tour together. We decided to join because it was possible to participate until the age of 70, but I have some mountain climbing experience while my wife is almost a beginner. From the start of the trek on the trolley path, she was a bit slow, and once we finished the trolley path and began the actual climb, it became quite challenging to keep up.
The guide informed us that at this pace, we wouldn't make it back to the bus on time, and that beginners should sign up for a private tour. I managed to carry my wife's backpack, and we somehow made it to Jomon Sugi.
Additionally, there were other beginners in the group, and we found ourselves in a situation where we needed to put on crampons due to the snowy conditions. However, the guide only handed out the crampons and did not assist with putting them on.
According to the climbing app, our pace was about 110-120% of the average. I think it would have been better if the usual sightseeing explanations were shortened and adjusted to the participants' skill levels, allowing for a slower pace.
I hope that in the pre-registration information, they can specify the required climbing skills so that participants can determine whether they are capable of joining.

妻と2人でツアーに参加しました
70歳迄ツアー参加可能ということで参加を決めたのですが、私は登山経験有りで妻は殆ど初心者。行きのトロッコ道を歩く時から少し遅れ気味だったのですが、トロッコ道を終え、本格的に登り始めるところからついていくのがかなり厳しかったです
ガイドからこのペースだと帰りのバスに間にあわない、初心者は個別ツアーに申し込むべきだと告げられました
妻のザックを私が担いであがる事でなんとか縄文杉までは到着しました
また、他にも登山初心者の方が参加されていたの雪道でアイゼンを付けなければならない状態だったのですが、ガイドはアイゼンを渡すだけで付け方を手伝うことはありませんでした
登山アプリでの行動ペースは一般の110〜120%となっており、普段実施されている観光説明を参加者のスキルにあわせて短くし、ゆっくり目に歩いてあげる様な配慮もあってよかったと思います
申し込みの事前告知に求める登山スキルを記載して、参加者がこれなら参加できる、できないの判断ができる様にしてくれる事を望みます
苦しくても見ることの出来た縄文杉には感動しました。

As expected from a large tour company, it was great that reservations and cancellations were possible even the day before, providing a high level of flexibility, which made it reassuring to book considering the weather and other factors. Additionally, I took advantage of a campaign from VELTRA that offered one person free, making it more affordable.
The communication felt quite business-like, and it seemed they were diligently following a manual. I participated in a half-day kayak tour, and the hotel pick-up was smooth. There were five of us kayaking on the calm waters of the Urauchi River.
Although there seemed to be many guides, our guide was knowledgeable and explained the names of various plants well, allowing us to fully enjoy the nature of Iriomote Island. While I think kayaking and SUP tours in Ishigaki Island might be slightly cheaper, I believe it’s better to experience the more magnificent nature of Iriomote Island.
I deducted one star because, despite it being a rare sunny day in winter on Iriomote Island with no strong winds, they switched us from the SUP we had hoped for to kayaking due to weather reasons. I could only think that it was because we were the only participants for the SUP, and they wanted to consolidate us into one tour. This was reinforced when I happened to meet local tour operators at an izakaya that night, who mentioned that it was a nice day and that they could have easily done the SUP.
Additionally, they didn’t take many personal photos, and there were only one or two usable pictures, with one person even having their eyes closed, which was quite disappointing. I hope that next time we can do the SUP.

沢山のガイドさんがいるようですが、ガイドさんの知識は豊富で植物の名前等よく説明して下さり、西表の自然を堪能できました。
石垣島でもマングローブでのカヤックやsupツアーはやや安くできると思いますが、折角なら自然がより雄大な西表島の方がいいかと思います。
星を一つ減らしたのは、風が全然強くなく、冬の西表島では珍しく晴天の日だったにもかかわらず、天候を理由に希望していたsupではなくカヤックにされてしまった事です。
sup参加者が私達だけで、一つのツアーにまとめて集約したいからなんだろうなとしか思えませんでした。というのも、この日の夜以前supツアーでお世話になった地元のツアー業者の方々に居酒屋で偶々お会いし、今日どこに行ったという話になったのですが、今日はいい天気で全然supできたよと皆さん言われていました。
また、個人写真をあまり撮って下さらず、1人が目を瞑っていたり、使える写真が1、2枚程度で非常に少なかったのでがっかりしました。
是非次回はsupができたらなと思います。

Since I don't have a driver's license, the bus tour was the best option for the northern area. The schedule was appropriate for the sightseeing spots, and it didn't feel too rushed. We participated as a family of five, with a third-grade boy and twin first-grade boys. At first, the kids said it was dark and scary, but after a while, they became absorbed in searching for various creatures like insects, fish, and coconut crabs. It's a shame we couldn't find a coconut crab, but it seems they had a lot of fun. The weather was nice all day, so we could see the moon and stars beautifully. The stories and experiences shared by the tour guide were very interesting! If there's another opportunity, we would love to participate again. Thank you very much.

The arrival day was cloudy and felt a bit cold. I had reserved a snorkeling trip and was wondering if it would be okay, but once we got out to sea, the water was warm, and since we were wearing wetsuits and shoes, it was totally fine.
They even put two wetsuits on my 9-year-old child because they were worried about them getting cold, which I really appreciated. Thanks to that, we weren't cold at all and had a lot of fun.
The guide (Makocchan) explained the swimming points and precautions clearly, and I’m grateful for that. During the return transfer, they talked about recommended local island cuisine, which made the whole experience enjoyable.
When we visited the recommended restaurant, it was incredibly delicious, so I was glad to have participated in the tour for that reason as well. I would love to join another tour in the future! 😊
到着日が曇っていて少し寒く感じました。シュノーケル予約したけど、大丈夫かな？と思いましたが、沖に出ると水温暖かくウェットスーツもシューズも履いてるので全然大丈夫でした。
9歳の子供にはウェットスーツを２枚着せてくれて子供は寒くなっちゃうからとありがたかったです。
おかげで寒くなく、すごく楽しかったと。
泳ぎのポイントや注意点などわかりやすく説明してくれて、ガイドさん（まこっちゃん）に感謝です。
帰りの送迎時はおすすめの島グルメの話などしてくれて終始楽しかったです。

Unfortunately, we couldn't go to the Blue Cave due to the waves, but we were able to dive from a nearby beach and see the beautiful underwater world. The day before was cloudy, but on the day of our visit, it was sunny with great visibility, and I was very satisfied.

残念ながら青の洞窟は波の影響で行けませんでしたが、近くのビーチから潜って綺麗な海の中を見る事が出来ました。
前の日は曇っていましたが、当日は晴れてすごく透明度が高く、満足でした。
この日はウミガメに会う事ができず、それは残念でしたがまた次の機会にチャレンジしたいと思います。
子供達が初めてのシュノーケルマスクを着用するので大丈夫かドキドキしていましたが、ガイドさんのまこっちゃんが上手に誘導してくれてスムーズに装着が出来て、一度も失敗する事なく楽しめたようです。
少し怖がりの子供達ですが、安全なフロートもあったし、全然怖くなくすごく楽しかったと大満足でした。

I booked the Pumpkin Cave and sea kayaking, but I received a cancellation notice the day before due to bad wave conditions. When I inquired, I was told that only the sea kayaking could proceed, so I decided to go ahead with that. The instructor led the way, which made me feel safe and allowed me to enjoy the experience. They also took photos and sent them to me later, which was great. If I have the chance to go again, I would like to try the Pumpkin Cave again for a rematch.

Year-end mountain climbing.
In every travel magazine and website, it was recommended not to attempt it at the end of the year due to weather conditions, but it went smoothly!
I was a bit anxious about my footing because of the snow and ice, but the guide took it slow, so even as a first-time climber, I was able to successfully ascend and descend.
There were moments when I felt like giving up, but the snow-covered mountains were incredibly mystical, and I’m glad I took on the challenge! It also gave me a sense of accomplishment that makes me feel like next year will be a good one!
The bento I had on the mountain was delicious, and I want to experience that feeling again. I’ve become motivated to continue climbing in the future!

雪や氷により足元が不安でしたが、ガイドさんもゆっくりと登ってくださったため、初めての登山でも、無事に登山も下山もできました。

I was curious if there was a place to do SUP or kayaking in such a town, but once I got here, I found myself paddling along a wide river surrounded by Okinawan plants.
As a traveler, I wanted to find a place where I could experience this without any gear, but since most places offer similar services, I recommend checking their websites thoroughly. There were changing rooms available, and the parking lot can accommodate five cars.
One thing to note is that your bottom will definitely get wet while kayaking. Experiencing this in January can be quite cold, and there's a possibility of rain. If you can prepare, you might need rain gear for both your top and bottom. However, when I mentioned to the staff that I didn't have any rain gear and didn't want to get wet during my trip, they kindly lent me rain pants for free. They also provided shoes. However, a towel is essential, as you'll need it to dry your feet afterward. I brought a towel that I didn't mind throwing away during my travels.
We paddled back and forth on a river about 300 meters long. Along the way, we listened to explanations from the staff. The distance was short, but we enjoyed a leisurely paddle on the kayak. Unfortunately, the weather in the morning wasn't great, but thanks to that (?), we had an exhilarating and thrilling canoe experience. The stories we heard about Iriomote Island during our travels and while on the canoe were very interesting and enjoyable. (Especially the stories about the traffic lights on the island and the mangroves and salinity.) In the afternoon, the weather improved, and we were able to spend a relaxing and healing time on Yufu Island under a beautiful blue sky. We truly enjoyed both the harshness and warmth of nature in just one day.

In winter, it seems that the ferry from Ishigaki Island to Uehara Port often gets canceled, but the tour company provided a thorough explanation about this in advance, which made it easy for us to participate. It was really helpful.
I wasn't expecting much from the canoeing due to the bad weather, but wearing a raincoat made it surprisingly enjoyable! The experience is quite different from a sunny day, and I liked that.
Yubu Island also had many unexpected attractions. The water buffalo were cute, but the botanical garden, where we could enjoy the tropical atmosphere, was really great.
冬は石垣島→上原港便が欠航になることが多いらしく、その辺りの対応含めて事前にツアー会社さんから丁寧な説明があり、スムーズに参加できました。本当に助かりました。
悪天候でカヌーも期待してなかったのですが、レインコートを着ていれば案外楽しめますね！晴の日とは違った感じも良いです。
由布島も意外と見所がたくさんあって、水牛も可愛いですが、南国感が楽しめる植物園がとても良かったです。

When traveling from Iriomote Island to Yufu Island by water buffalo cart, we were treated to a shamisen performance. Unfortunately, the day we participated in the tour was cloudy, but the shallow and calm waters of Okinawa combined with the sound of the shamisen were very pleasant!
The free time on Yufu Island was just right, allowing us to leisurely stroll around. The Yaeyama soba we had at a restaurant near Uehara Port, which wasn't listed on Google Maps, was also exquisite!
Since we were staying in the Uehara area, it was great that they provided transportation to our hotel.
西表島から由布島へ、水牛車に乗って行くとき、三味線を演奏していただきました。ツアーに参加した日はあいにくの曇りでしたが、浅く穏やかな沖縄の海と三味線の音色がとても心地よかったです！
由布島の自由時間もちょうど良く、のんびり散策することができました！
上原港近くの、Googleマップに載っていないお店で食べた八重山そばも絶品でした！
上原地区に滞在していたので、ホテルまで送迎していただけたのもよかったです。
