I have visited Yakushima several times, but this was my first time participating in the Jomon Sugi trekking with my family of four. It was harder than I expected, but the guide provided breaks at just the right times, and we were able to complete it. The transportation to and from the tour was also easy, and I'm glad we participated in the tour.
屋久島は数回来ていますが、縄文杉トレッキングには初めて家族4人で参加しました。

We were blessed with good weather, and the guide's pacing was excellent, allowing us to enjoy a rich three hours. I learned about mushrooms that I wouldn't have noticed on my own and heard stories about the nesting sites of the great spotted woodpecker, making the trekking even without views of the lake quite enjoyable. Additionally, I was able to hear various stories about brown bears, which showed that our guide was experienced, allowing us to enjoy the nature of Shiretoko with peace of mind. If I have the opportunity again, I would like to participate with my wife next time.

密度の濃い3時間を過ごすことができました。

I went canoeing at Kabira Bay. It was a bit cloudy, but I was able to take a lot of photos. They turned out very beautiful, and I'm satisfied. I chose the full-day course, but we returned near the hotel in the morning and then took a bus to do the same course again in the afternoon, so it might be nice to have different optional activities for the morning and afternoon. It felt like a bit of a time loss there. It would have been better if we had some time to stroll around Kabira Bay during lunch.
I was also anxious about snorkeling, but I received solid support and was able to swim happily. I had misunderstood and thought we would be snorkeling inside the Blue Cave.
川平湾でカヌーをしました少し曇りもありましたが沢山写真を撮っていただきました。画像にするととても綺麗で満足です。1日コースにしたのですが、午前に一旦ホテル近くまで戻ってきて、また昼から同じコースをバスで行くため、午前と午後別のオプショナルでもいい感じです。そこが少し時間のロスのような。川平湾で昼散策する時間があったらよりよかったかも。
シュノーケルも不安でしたがしっかりサポートしてもらい楽しく泳ぐことができました。青の洞窟のなかをシュノーケルするのかと勘違いしてました。

They recommended spots in Okinawa and mentioned that we might be able to see sea turtle hatching since it was a full moon. I participated with the Ren-chan team and the Taro team. It was disappointing that we couldn't go to the waterfall due to the weather, but the mangrove tour was even more enjoyable than I imagined, and it became a wonderful memory. Ren-chan taught me a lot about Iriomote Island and mangrove knowledge! During our lunch break, I tried the recommended dishes from the cafeteria that Ren-chan suggested! I was amazed by the magnificent scenery while snorkeling, something I had never seen before! Taro-kun took photos from various angles, and my whole family was delighted!
It was a very fulfilling tour. I want to visit Iriomote Island again!

I went to Iriomote Island for my honeymoon! It was a very enjoyable trip that felt extraordinary. On the tour, I experienced a water buffalo cart ride to Yubu Island and a canoe experience where I could feel the great outdoors. The weather was a mix of rain and sunshine, but luckily, the rain stopped at just the right times during both the Yubu Island visit and the canoe experience, and the sun occasionally showed its face, bringing us good luck. I think there isn't much difference in the tours of the Pumpkin Cave regardless of the company you choose. However, this company had a no mobile phone policy (while customers from other companies were bringing their phones without issue).
One downside of this company is that there are no restrooms, showers, or changing rooms at the meeting point. Additionally, you have to climb up and down a fairly steep slope to get to the beach, so if that’s a concern for you, it would be better to choose a tour company that has a parking lot near the beach and provides transportation by car.
パンプキン鍾乳洞のツアー自体はどこの会社を使っても大差ないと思います。ただこの会社は携帯持ち込み禁止でした。（他の会社のお客さんは普通に携帯持ち込んでました）

The staff are very friendly and teach you how to use the paddle and maneuver the kayak, making it safe and enjoyable even for middle-aged and older adults.
The drone footage and photos we received later were stunning and impressive. We were able to create wonderful memories.
I recommend this for those who can't snorkel or have plans in the afternoon!
水に浸からなくても熱帯魚や珊瑚をみることができます。とくに晴れている時は海がとても綺麗な青色です。

I participated in a half-day tour in the morning! The Pumpkin Cave, which you can't visit on your own, was even more exciting than I imagined—truly an adventure! I was really satisfied with the tour! ✨
Our guide was Tetsu, who looks like a local but is actually from Osaka! He created a fun atmosphere with his cheerful and lively talk—truly impressive!
On this day, our team of 10, including families and couples, aimed for the Pumpkin Cave! Under Captain Tetsu's guidance, we first got on kayaks to head to the cave's entrance! (Don't worry, there are thorough instructions on paddling and safety before we head out to sea.)
The entrance to the Pumpkin Cave is actually in the ocean! So, the timing to enter is only during the perfect moment when the tide is low enough but the kayak doesn't run aground! This really heightens the sense of adventure.
What lies beyond this point is for you to enjoy! An experience that exceeds your imagination awaits you! You can fully experience the unique terrain of Miyako Island! I especially recommend it for those who love nature activities.

Although the weather wasn't great, I was able to see the fantastical scenery of Shiretoko Five Lakes. During the trekking, I saw beautiful deer parents and their fawns, baby birds, young trees growing from fallen logs, and various mushrooms. There were clear bear footprints in the mud, which made me feel the presence of bears. The guide's explanations were very easy to understand, and I had a great time. I would like to visit again. We participated as a couple. It was our first time kayaking, but the guidance was thorough, allowing even beginners to enjoy it without difficulty. They moved at a slow pace, so we weren't left behind and could progress at our own speed. We were able to fully enjoy the nature of Okinawa and created wonderful memories.
Since the sunlight is quite strong, I think it's good to have a hat, arm covers, and drinks. My feet got wet, but the strong sunlight dried them quickly, so changing clothes wasn't necessary.

I participated in the Jomon Sugi tour in Yakushima. The guide, Mr. Omochida, provided very thorough guidance and explanations, which helped me learn a lot. During lunch, they even prepared miso soup, and I was grateful for the assistance with carrying heavy bags. Thank you very much.

In this tour, there were 6 guides forming one team, with approximately 30 to 40 participants who took a chartered bus to the trailhead. The bus fare is included in the tour price. In my case, since I was staying a bit farther away, a taxi came to pick me up at my accommodation (the taxi fare is also included in the tour price). I think it’s a very good deal.

The guides coordinated well to maintain the pace, ensuring that everyone safely reached Jomon Sugi and returned on time to catch the bus back to the accommodation.
