Lake Toya has beautiful scenery.
It gets crowded during lunch, so if you get off the bus, you should go early or you might not be able to eat.
At the bear ranch, it's a must to buy apples for feeding and throw them.
Noboribetsu also has the extraordinary Hell Valley; even if you go deep into it, you won't get too tired, so you can enjoy sightseeing easily.

It started with trekking in the rain while wearing rain gear from the trailhead, but the Jomon Sugi, shrouded in misty rain, was mystical and truly beautiful.
As a solo traveler in my senior years, I prepared for concerns about my physical stamina by trying to walk as much as possible without using public transportation and by doing longer hikes on low mountains. However, after reading reviews, I was worried that some people had unpleasant experiences with certain guides, which lingered until the day of the trek.
In reality, the group was organized mainly with people of similar ages and other solo participants, which eased my mind. Most importantly, the guide managed the pace by adjusting the timing and length of breaks, and shared stories about plants and history at key points that I wouldn't have known without guidance, making the long walking time feel less painful. They also took beautiful photos for us. Thank you very much!
I wished I could have taken more time to enjoy the scenery, but considering the distance for a day trip, there was nothing that could be done about that. The long, long trolley path was daunting to walk through with a headlamp in the dark on the way there, but on the return, I was moved to realize, "I walked through this," which felt refreshing.

実際はまず、グループが近い年齢の方、また同じように一人参加の方を中心に編成していただいていて気が楽になりました。何よりガイドさんが、休憩のタイミングや長さなどでペース配分してくださりつつ、案内なしでは知ることができなかった植物や歴史についての話を要所要所でしてくださったので、長い歩行時間も苦痛に感じませんでした。写真もきれいに撮っていただきました。ありがとうございました！
もっとゆっくり景色を見たかった思いはあるのですが、日帰りであの距離を、、、と思うとこればかりはどうしようもありません。
長い長いトロッコ道でしたが、行きはヘッドライトで暗い中をこわごわ歩いてわからなかった景色が、帰りに「この中を歩いてたんだ」、と新鮮に思えたのも感動でした。

Before our arrival at each destination, they announced recommended ways to enjoy the sights, allowing us to make the most of our limited time for sightseeing. When we got off at photo-worthy spots, the guide helped us take pictures. 🫶🌲 The short storytelling during travel time was sure to make us laugh, which made the tour even more enjoyable. The highlight is the Biei Shirahige Waterfall in the snow. With a relaxing tour guide and a group of quiet tourists on the bus, we can unwind and enjoy the snowy scenery during the ride. The guide is a young Japanese man, and we are fortunate to have him. He speaks English very well. The buffet lunch is average but sufficient. It's better to include the buffet lunch since there aren't many other options around.
美瑛白ひげの滝 in snow is our highlight. Relaxing tour guide with a group of quiet tourists in the bus, we can relax and enjoy the snow along the bus ride. The guide is a Japanese young man, we are lucky to have him. He speaks English very well. Buffet Lunch is average but adequate. Better to include buffet lunch as not much other choices around.

This tour efficiently takes you through routes that are quite difficult to navigate on your own by bus! We stopped at roadside stations and enjoyed a delicious Hida beef wrapped in bamboo leaf miso grilled lunch in Shirakawa-go without any waiting, making it a fantastic experience. The guide was excellent, providing necessary explanations and maps in advance, as well as giving commentary along the way!

I participated in a half-day tour to Yakusugi Land and the Jomon Sugi course from Yakushima Airport. The guide explained everything very clearly and taught us various things about Yakushima, in addition to the Yakusugi trees and mountain plants. Along the way, we also encountered deer and monkeys. It was very educational, and I had a wonderful time. I gave up on seeing the Jomon Sugi due to physical limitations, but I was able to see the Jigen Sugi, and I'm really glad I joined this tour.

A current flight attendant guided us. As expected, they were articulate and easy to listen to. The timing of my visit was fortunate, as I was able to see actual training in almost every section, showcasing the daily efforts to ensure safety at ANA. Since the facility is only six years old, it may be expected, but it was very clean and felt modern; it was a place I envied for those who get to work there.

Asumi Spiritual involves quite a bit of walking on rocky mountains, so I think it's pretty tough. Plus, going around everything is a race against time. Even for someone like me who enjoys visiting historical sites and is used to mountain climbing, I found myself cutting it close to the meeting time while taking photos and videos.
It would be great if there were options for those who stay here and those who go to Yanbaru. For those staying, if they could be picked up on the way back from Yanbaru, I think even those without much stamina could manage.

We participated this time with three generations because the last time was so enjoyable, but unlike before, our stay on Yufu Island was too short, and we couldn't explore the island leisurely at all. I was attracted to a day trip tour to Yufuin and Beppu within my limited travel schedule, so I decided to participate. I saw on the web and in reviews that it was a tour aimed at overseas visitors, which made me a bit anxious, but as many others mentioned, the guide was truly wonderful, and I was able to enjoy myself and feel at ease. When I participated, there were four people in our group, plus two Japanese participants, and the rest were mostly from China and Taiwan. Even though it was a weekday, it was a popular tour with nearly all the seats on the large bus filled.
The guidance was provided in Japanese, Chinese, and English, and since our seats were close to the guide, they engaged with us and were very attentive and cheerful. Unfortunately, the day we participated was rainy, so the view from the ropeway was almost nonexistent, but it was a well-packed tour that I enjoyed.

参加した日は、あいにくの雨でロープウェイからの景色はほぼ皆無でしたが、色々凝縮されたツアーで楽しめました。

In the moss-covered space I expected, I was energized by the various trees, including Yakusugi, which grow tall and firmly root themselves even in limited soil. I visited Iriomote Island for the first time. I was able to explore efficiently in a short amount of time. The mangroves were high due to the tide, so I couldn't see much of them. The weather was cloudy, so it was disappointing not to see the beautiful sea of Iriomote Island.
The water buffalo cart was fun, different from Taketomi Island. The sanshin and singing were quite lovely as well. Lunch was just normally delicious. Yubu Island was more enjoyable than I had imagined.
Since there was no staff accompanying the tour, I had to wander around each time to find out which boat to transfer to after getting off the ship, which bus to take, and where to line up for the water buffalo ride, constantly asking anyone who looked like a staff member.
Since there were other tours as well, I was guided to different dining locations, which I understand, but I did feel a bit of inefficiency. Overall, I was satisfied.

他のツアーも一緒なので、食事場所も別の所に案内されたり、仕方ないとは思いますが、ちょっと効率の悪さを感じました。

I found a tour that included Asahiyama Zoo, Blue Pond, and Shirahige Falls, and I participated in it. The zoo is compact, but the exhibits were creatively arranged and enjoyable. The Blue Pond was bluer than I expected. Shirahige Falls was beautiful, even though we viewed it from a bridge a bit away. The Yubari melon was very sweet and delicious, and I ended up eating a lot. It was a pity that the flowers in Biei were finished and the weather wasn't perfectly clear, but it was a trip that satisfied both my eyes and my stomach.

The guide was an excellent person who was fluent in English, Chinese, and Korean. They distributed maps and provided detailed explanations to each individual, which was very kind and greatly appreciated. The other guests were quiet and punctual, and although there was a bit of a traffic jam waiting for parking at the entrance to Shirakawa-go, we were able to get through quickly, which was good.
However, it was disappointing that while the two-hour exploration of Takayama was nice, two hours in Shirakawa-go was not enough, and I couldn't make it to the observation deck. The shuttle bus had a long line, and I tried to walk but ended up taking the wrong path. If the tour can't be extended due to the driver's working hours, I think it would be better to have an hour and a half in Takayama and two and a half hours in Shirakawa-go.
The foreign students I brought along (from Vietnam) were very moved and said they created lifelong memories, so it was worth taking them. Thank you very much.

The tour guide provided very little information throughout the tour and did not fulfill the role of a guide. She was a Chinese woman, and while her attitude was not bad, it was quite disappointing. Regarding the destinations, she only mentioned the meeting times, and that was it.
When another guest tried to engage in conversation by asking questions, the responses were completely off-target, leading to awkward laughter among everyone.
I don't intend to make comments based on nationality, but foreigners likely can't distinguish between Japanese and Chinese people, so as a Japanese person, it felt uncomfortable. For a tour in Japan, I would prefer a guide who is either Japanese or has knowledge at a similar level. Even just sharing small anecdotes that a Japanese person would naturally know (like about the Fuji Five Lakes or the differences between the Shizuoka and Yamanashi sides, or about the Aokigahara Forest) would have made a significant difference in the overall impression.

I want to say that I was satisfied with the tour as planned, but perhaps because there were so few participants, we were in a regular van instead of a large bus, which was disappointing.
The ride was quite uncomfortable, and it shook a lot during the long-distance travel, which made me tired.
The driver had no ill intentions, but I would have appreciated at least some explanation or reasoning. If it's the same next time and we don't have a bus, I won't participate.
