Shop gathering and completion of the consent form.
Board the vehicle and head to the parking area near the waterfall entrance.
Once you are ready, those arriving by car will use their own vehicles, while others will ride in the shop’s vehicle to the entry point. Walk together toward the waterfall entrance and continue along the forest road.
Begin the walk from the waterfall entrance!
Attach crampons (spikes) to your boots and make your way down to the base of the waterfall!

Arrive at Nanajo Otaki Waterfall! Admire the stunning ice formations and enjoy the breathtaking natural scenery at the base of the falls.

Nanajo Otaki is located south of Lake Shikotsu. While the waterfall itself never freezes due to its strong flow, surrounding seepage water forms massive icicles over 10 meters long, creating a powerful and awe-inspiring winter spectacle.

By Car
Set your car navigation system to “Shikotsuko Onsen.” You will be directed to the shopping street parking area along Lake Shikotsu.
From the parking lot, you will see the “Guesthouse Shikotsukamui” signboard around the center of the shopping street.

By Bus
Take a bus from New Chitose Airport or JR Chitose Station and get off at “Shikotsuko Onsen.”
The shopping street will be on your left. You will see the signboard near the center of the row along the parking area.
It is about a 1-minute walk from the bus stop.

- Generally suitable for elementary school students from around 4th grade and up (shoe size 22 cm or larger). Elementary school children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Participants with chronic or serious medical conditions, as well as those who are pregnant, are not permitted to join the tour.
- Participants must be in good physical and mental health.

- If you plan to arrive by private car, please let us know at the time of booking.
Required items to bring & attire
- Outerwear: Warm winter clothing (top and bottom), such as ski or snowboard wear.
- Inner layers: Warm and easy-to-move-in clothing such as fleece or jersey materials.
- Cold-weather gear: Gloves, hat, boots, snow shoes, disposable hand warmers, etc.
- Rental items: Knit cap, gloves, neck warmer
(Adhesive heat packs are also available for purchase at the shop.) - Because your toes can get cold, we recommend bringing heat packs and warm socks.
- Hot drinks are provided during the tour, but you are welcome to bring your own bottle or bottled water if needed.
- Outerwear and inner layers are not available for rental, so please be sure to bring your own.
- Rubber boots, hats, gloves, sweatshirts (top and bottom), socks, and waterproof rainwear are available for free rental.

・This tour does not include a photo-taking service.
・Guests who wish to use the 50% discount ticket for Marukoma Onsen, a long-established hot spring with over 100 years of history, must enter by 2:00 PM (valid on the day of the tour only). - ・As a Shikotsu Lake area operator–exclusive benefit, you can enjoy a day-use bath at “Mizu no Uta” for ¥1,500 (same-day use only / available 3:00 PM–7:00 PM).
A day-use hot spring facility, Kyukamura, is also located within walking distance (about a 20-minute walk from Oceandays).
・If you would like discount coupons for nearby shops, please ask a staff member. - Tours generally operate even in light rain or snow.
However, in cases of heavy rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, or blizzards that make it difficult to proceed, we will notify you as early as possible.
Please note that the tour may also be canceled on the day at the instructor’s discretion.
As this is an outdoor activity in a natural environment, we appreciate your understanding. - If you cancel for personal reasons, the full activity fee will be charged as a cancellation fee.
Please note that the tour may be refused if the person who made the booking does not arrive at the shop or does not participate. - During the Icefall Festival period, heavy crowds are expected, especially on weekends and public holidays.
