Considering the third wave of COVID-19, I was actually contemplating canceling my trip until the very last minute. What ultimately made me decide to go was the open bus.

The weather was just right—not too cold or too hot (although it was quite windy, haha)—and I was able to enjoy myself with peace of mind.

In reality, I prepared for various situations by purchasing not just antibacterial items, but also antiviral coats and masks (the kind that are quite exaggerated), as well as newly released antiviral gloves. I took every precaution and was fully equipped, but I found that I didn't need any of that on the open bus, and my sister and I enjoyed ourselves without worry the entire time. (However, I believe all that preparation was useful for the journey to get there.)

Since we could hop on and off freely, we were able to skip crowded spots, and there were plenty of points we could enjoy from the bus. This time, we enjoyed the autumn leaves at Kinkaku-ji and Kiyomizu-dera, which were both under construction (so there were fewer people, I suppose).

The new style of bus is perfect for now, allowing for even more enjoyable and safe experiences. I highly recommend it. (My sister and I are both actively working, with a combined age of 130 years!)

　乗り降り自由なので混みそうなところは全部パスでき、バスからでも十分楽しめるポイントも多々あり、今回は工事中ですよ（だから人は少ない筈）の金閣寺、清水寺で紅葉を楽しみました。
　新スタイルバスは今だからこそ。いっそう安心して楽しめました。
お勧めです。（お仕事現役バリバリ姉妹御年合計130歳）

どのスタッフの方もよくして下さり、旅先で何かと不案内なことの多い旅行者には、安心して利用できて良いのではと思いました。
京都リピーターの私も、今回のバスは新鮮な楽しみ方ができて良かったと思いました。

Is it because of the impact of the new coronavirus that the number of visitors has decreased? I was able to take my time exploring all the tourist spots.

There were only 10 participants, but thanks to the guide's attentive guidance, everyone seemed relaxed and enjoyed themselves. I participated alone, but with the guide's assistance and the opportunity to take photos at each sightseeing spot, I was able to capture many pictures. Additionally, receiving advice on angles during photo shoots was very helpful.

At Kiyomizu-dera, the roof replacement work was completed, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful stage. I signed up for the tour with lunch included. The restaurant was near Kiyomizu-dera, and from there, I could enjoy a panoramic view of Kyoto. The lunch, which included yudofu, was also very delicious.

The stroll through the bamboo grove in Arashiyama was enjoyable as I listened to the guide's stories and chatted with fellow tour members while exploring the sights. It was a very enjoyable day. Thank you, guide!

新型コロナウイルスの影響で客足が遠のいているのか？　全ての観光地でゆっくり見学することが出来ました。
参加人数は10名と少ない人数でしたが、ガイドさんの丁寧な案内で、皆さんリラックスして楽しんでいる雰囲気でした。
私は１人での参加でしたが、ガイドさんの案内や各観光地において写真撮影していただいたお陰で沢山の写真が取れました。また、写真撮影時アングルのアドバイスも頂けたのはとても良かったです。
清水寺は屋根の葺き替え工事が終わり美しい舞台を望むことが出来ました。私は今回お昼付きで申し込みました。場所は清水寺近くのレストラン、そちらのお店から京都を一望できる景色を楽しむことも出来ました。ランチも湯豆腐を頂くことが出来そちらもとても美味しかったです。嵐山での竹林散策もガイドさんのお話を聞きながら、また同じツアーメンバーの方々ともお話ししながら観光地を巡れました。とても楽しい1日でした。ガイドさんありがとうございました。

I was a bit anxious about my first bus tour, but it was so much fun! Thanks to our friendly bus guide, everyone had a great time together. I was also happy that they knew the best photo spots, so I could get beautiful pictures taken!

Kyoto Hop On Hop Off Bus Tickets (1day or 2days)

Great for a day in Kyoto

My husband and I only had a day to spend in Kyoto and we looked into day tours but most only took you to two sites. The hop on hop off bus was a great solution. It took us to all the major sites and we get to see way more in 1 day then we would have otherwise. The bus station stop by Kyoto station was easy to find and the other stations were well marked. Staff was friendly and even let us know if certain buildings were closed due to coral virus. When it started to rain we received a poncho as we were getting off the bus and the next bus we got on was enclosed. After the rain stopped we go on an open roof bus and the staff even came up to wipe down any seats that might still be wet. Totally worth it if you only have a short amount of time in Kyoto

I participated in this tour because I thought I could cover all the places I wanted to visit in Kyoto in just one day. Although Kyoto was less crowded than usual, I was able to explore at a very leisurely pace despite the packed itinerary.

There were eight people on the tour (apparently, there are usually more), and everyone except me was a foreigner. Therefore, it was noted during the reservation that "an English-speaking guide will be on board," but there was only one guide who mainly spoke in English. However, the guide was a veteran with a wealth of knowledge, and their English was easy to understand and interesting (of course, they also provided explanations in Japanese). Even though I participated alone, they took many photos for me.

My first experience in Kyoto was very satisfying!

ほぼ初めての京都で、１日で自分の行ってみたい名所を網羅できそうだったので参加しました。
京都自体通常に比べて空いていたということもありますが、盛りだくさんの内容の割にはとてもゆっくり回ることができました。
ツアーは８人で（普段はもっといっぱいいるらしいです）、私以外全員外国人でした。そのため、予約時に「英語を話せる添乗員が乗車」と書かれていましたが、ガイドさんは１人で、英語メインでのお話でした。でも、ベテランのガイドさんでとても知識が豊富で英語もわかりやすく、面白かったです（もちろん日本語でもいろいろ説明はしてくださいました）。一人での参加でしたが、写真もたくさん撮ってくださいました。
初京都、大満足です！

We really enjoyed the double decker bus. The city is beautiful and we never would have had the chance to see as much as we did on our own. The staff were super amazing at the bus pick up. My son and I even got back on the bus just to ride around the city after we stopped at so many amazing shrines.
The only drawback was (and this has nothing to do with the tour company) is that most of the places were closed to visitors due to Covid-19.
I would definitely recommend this company to anyone interested in getting a more general perspective of the city.

This time, considering the new virus, I was unsure about participating. My wife and I thought about it, but we decided to go for it. We boarded the bus in Namba, and there were about 10 people on the day of the tour. The guide was very easy to understand, providing information in both Japanese and English. We visited various attractions, and it was very quiet, allowing us to take our time exploring. I'm really glad I participated. I think this is a hidden gem during this time. It's safe and secure since it's not crowded! I would participate again if the opportunity arises. The yellow bus was very cute!

今回は新ウィルスの関係で参加をどうしょうか？妻と考えましたが思い切って参加しました。難波でバス乗車、当日は10名位の人数でしたガイドさんも日本語＆英語で対応とてもわかり易かったです。各名所を周りとても空いていてゆっくり見学ができました。参加して本当に良かったです。逆にこの時期、穴場たと思います。空いているので安全安心ですよ！また機会があれば参加しますします。黄色のバスとても可愛かったです

I participated in this tour for the first time to visit the main attractions in Kyoto. Since it was early March, the open-top bus was cold, but they provided us with hand warmers, which helped us cope with the chill! The open design and height of the bus made it great for viewing the streets of Kyoto.

Although you can hop on and off freely for a day (24 hours), if you miss a bus, you have to wait 30 minutes, and the service is limited to 9 AM to 5 PM, which makes the actual number of rides quite few. I felt the price was a bit high. If you want to take your time exploring the tourist spots, I think it would be more efficient to use a bus or taxi for transportation.

When I was running to catch the bus and almost missed it, they waited for me, which I appreciated and felt their kindness.

京都の主要な場所をまわるということで、初めてこちらのツアーに参加させていただきました。
3月の初めだったので、オープントップバスは寒かったのですが、乗る際にホッカイロをくださったので寒さも乗り切れました！オープンで高さがあるので京都の街並みを見るにはいいかなと思います。
乗り降り自由で1日（24時間）使えるとはいえ、逃したら30分待たなければならず、9時から17時と時間も限られており実際に乗れる回数としては少なく、値段は高いかなと感じました。観光名所をしっかりと時間をかけて観光したいならバスやタクシーに乗って移動した方が効率的かなと思いました。

Experience Report:
The members of the tour were well-mannered, which made for a pleasant experience.
Additionally, the tour guide's leadership was excellent.

There was just one issue with the time management:
At Kiyomizu-dera for lunch, there wasn't enough time, and I couldn't relax. On the other hand, the time at Kinkaku-ji was short, which was fine.

Overall, I give it a positive rating.
