After having lunch, I visited the site. The food was delicious and just the right amount. While regular visitors had to wait in line, I was able to enter smoothly without waiting by using this plan, which saved me time. However, it's strange that the admission fee is different for adults and children, yet this plan charges the same price for both.

お昼ご飯を頂いてから、拝観しました。お料理は、ちょうど良い量で美味しくいただきました。一般の方は並んでいましたが、こちらのプランを利用して、並ぶことなくスムーズに入ることができ、時間の節約にもなりました。ただ、拝観料が大人と子どもとでは違うのに、こちらのプランは、大人も子どもも同料金ということが不思議です。

I made a reservation for dinner at 17:45, so I arrived around 16:30 to enjoy the daytime autumn leaves, but... I couldn't enter the park due to the switch between daytime and nighttime viewing. I would like to see information about the times when entry is not allowed.

The meal consisted of cold dishes except for the yudofu (tofu hot pot), rice, and miso soup, but the taste was decent, and the portion was just right.

However, the dining area was extremely cold, which was disappointing considering the not-so-cheap price I paid.

Despite the unexpectedly long line, being able to enter the park and the beauty of the illuminated autumn leaves was fantastic.

昼の拝観と夜の拝観の入れ替えで園内に入れませんでした。入れない時間帯があることも記載してほしいです。
食事は湯豆腐とごはんと味噌汁以外は冷たいですが味はまあまあ、量はちょうど良かったです。
それよりも食事会場が寒くて寒くて…決して安くないお金を払っているのに悲しかったです。
想像以上に長ーい列を尻目に園内に入れることと、ライトアップ紅葉のきれいさは最高でした。

It was very helpful that there were places where we didn't have to wait in line. The food was average, but sitting in seiza was tough.

The seats were too close to the person next to me.

I felt very anxious because there was no one at the reception.

It was great to be able to enter areas that are usually off-limits and to listen to explanations. Since we heard from the gardener about the illuminated garden, it was nice to know how to appreciate it. The autumn leaves were at just the right time and very beautiful. It was fun to search for the hidden turtles.

普段は入れないところも入れて説明もききながらだったので色々聞けてよかったです。ライトアップされた庭も庭師の方の説明を聞いてからだったのでどんな感じでみたらいいのか分かり良かったです。紅葉もちょうどいい時期でとてもきれいでした。かくれ亀さん達を探すのが楽しかったです。

I arrived at the dining area at 11:00, and since breakfast was late, I went to visit the site first after checking in. The autumn leaves were beautiful, and I was satisfied to see items related to Sanada. The guide's explanations were also very good. After arriving, I was able to enjoy wagashi and matcha right away. I was informed that there was a goshuin (temple seal), so I handed over my goshuincho (temple seal book) as soon as I arrived at Daihōin, which made it easy to pick up on the way back, and I was very satisfied. However, there was a sign at the entrance of Daihōin indicating that photography was prohibited, so I thought I couldn't take pictures of the scenery, but when I asked the guide, I learned that it was fine to take pictures of the outside scenery from inside, so I quickly took some photos. The staff at the dining area (the male receptionist) were kind and attentive, and it seemed they remembered my face from the initial check-in, so I was very happy to be shown to my seat right away. The meal was also quite substantial! It was delicious.

11:00に食事処に到着し、朝食が遅かったこともあり手続き後に食事より先に拝観しに行きました。紅葉もあり、真田ゆかりの物が見れて満足です。ガイドさんの説明もあり大変よかったです。到着してから和菓子と抹茶もすぐいただけました。御朱印があるとの事で御朱印帳を大法院に到着後すぐに預けてから拝観したので帰りにはスムーズに受け取れ大変満足でした。ただ、大法院入り口に撮影禁止の張り紙はあり風景が撮れないのかと思いましたが、ガイドさんに聞いたところ院内から外の風景を撮るのは大丈夫とのことだったのですかさず撮影してきました。食事処のスタッフさん(受付の男性の方)対応も親切丁寧で、最初の受付時に顔を覚えていただいていたようで、すぐに席に案内してもらってとても嬉しかったです。食事もボリュームがありました！美味しかったです。

I went with my mother in her 80s. Since she has trouble walking, I chose this tour because it required the least amount of walking. The walking distance was just right, and the food was delicious. The autumn leaves hadn't changed yet, but Daizoin was very beautiful!

足が悪いので、一番歩かなくてよいツアーをと思い、これを選びました。
歩く距離もちょうど良く、料理も美味しく頂けました。
紅葉はまだしてませんでしたが、退蔵院はとても美しかったです！

The food was somewhat tasty, I would say. It felt like a meal you would have in a group on a tour. I thought we would be able to enjoy the autumn leaves while eating, but we couldn't see the leaves at all from where we were dining, so it was more like we viewed them after the meal.

I thought the autumn leaves might still be a bit early, but they were really beautiful. It was a shame that there were too many people, so I couldn't take my time to take photos, but that's just how it is during this season.

お料理はまあまあ美味しいかなって感じでした。ツアーで行くと団体で食べる食事みたいな。紅葉を見ながらの食事なのかと思ってましたが、紅葉は食事をするところからはまったく見えないので食事後に観るという感じでした。
紅葉はまだ少し早いのかなぁと思いましがすごく綺麗でした。人が多すぎてなかなかじっくり写真を撮ることができなかったのが残念でしたがそれは時期的にしょうがないですね。

My first time seeing the autumn leaves in Kyoto, and there were more people than I expected! (ﾟoﾟ;; I heard that buying admission tickets would involve waiting in line and that the yudofu lunch would also have a wait, and that was exactly the case. I'm glad I made a reservation in advance! I was able to have lunch smoothly on time, and I entered the temple easily through the side gate! However, it was disappointing that the autumn leaves weren't great this year due to the warm weather. (>_<)

初めての京都紅葉見物、予想以上の人出でした。(ﾟoﾟ;;
拝観券買うのも並ぶし、湯豆腐ランチも人待ちって聞いてたけど正にその通りでした。
事前に予約しといて良かった！
ランチも時間にスムースに摂ることが出来たし、拝観入場も横の門からすんなり！
でも、今年の暖かさで肝心の紅葉がイマイチだったのが残念(>_<)

I had to wait until 17:40 at the reception, which was supposed to open at 17:30, with no one there. After I called to inquire, a representative finally arrived 10 minutes later, saying they would come right away. I was getting cold and felt like I might catch a cold. The person who was first in line had to wait over 30 minutes. Even after moving to the dining area, I had to wait over 10 more minutes to be guided, and despite there being people ahead of me, they guided those who arrived later. There were also discrepancies with the number of admission tickets, which was frustrating due to the poor organization. The representative showed no remorse and acted as if it wasn't their fault. I had made the reservation to ensure my mother could enjoy the trip without too much burden, but I ended up making her feel sorry. I understand it was crowded, but since we paid for this, please make improvements!

電話で問い合わせ、すぐに向かわせますと言われた10分後に、ようやく担当者が到着。
寒くて風邪をひきそうでした。
1番最初に並んでいた方なんて、30分以上、待たされてました。
食事処に移動してからも、案内されるまで更に10分以上、待たされ、先に並んでる人がいるのに、後から来た人を案内したり、拝観チケットの枚数が違ったり、要領の悪さに腹が立ちました。
担当者は悪びれるそぶりもなく、僕は悪くないような対応。
母を連れての旅行でしたから、なるべく負担なく観光してもらいたくて予約したのに、可哀想な思いをさせてしまいました。
混雑しているのは分かりますが、お金を払ってるんですから、改善して下さい！

I was able to enter Eikando without waiting in line for the autumn foliage illumination. Even after 5 PM, there was a line of over an hour for general ticket purchases, so it felt like I could enjoy a meal during the waiting time. The illumination was beautiful, but there were indeed a lot of people!

紅葉ライトアップの永観堂に並ばないで入れました。夕方5時過ぎでも一般のチケット購入には1時間以上並んでいましたので、並んでいる時間にお食事ができた感じです。
ライトアップは素敵でしたが、やはり人は多いですね！

First of all, I appreciate the generous response. The road was congested, and I was 30 minutes late for my reservation, but I was grateful for the kind communication along the way and for your patience in waiting for me.

On the day of my visit, being a Saturday, there were many international visitors, and a long line formed to enter. However, I was able to enter without waiting in line, which was a great help. The autumn leaves seemed to be less vibrant compared to previous years, but they were still beautiful, and the place was bustling with activity. This year, I had decided to only visit Eikando, so after lunch, I strolled around the temple grounds before heading home. The meal was standard fare, but it was delicious, and while I observed long lines at various restaurants on my way back, I felt fortunate to have had a smooth dining experience and visit. Overall, I think it was a good value for the cost.

まず、寛大な対応に感謝です。道が渋滞し、予約時間に30分も遅れましたが、途上、親切に連絡をいただき、お待ちいただいた事ありがたかったです。
当日は、土曜ということもあり、海外の人たちも多く、入るのに長い行列ができていましたが、並ぶことなく、脇から入場させていただくことができ、大変に助かりました。紅葉は、例年に比べると、まだ浅いのかなという印象でしたが、それでもさすがにきれいで、大賑わいでした。今年は、永観堂のみと決めていたので、昼食後は、境内を散策した後帰りました。食事は、普通のメニューでしたが、おいしかったし、帰り道どこの飯屋さんも食事待ちの長蛇の列を眺めながら、スムーズな食事と拝観ができたことは、何よりだったと参加してよかったと思う次第です。トータルで見て、コスパOKというところでしょうか。

The meal was just the right amount for us.

It seems that the autumn leaves were still early for the season, and I was hoping for vibrant red foliage, so it was a disappointing outcome.

I want to try again.

期待していた紅葉はまだ時期が早かったようで真っ赤な紅葉を期待していたので残念な結果でした。

I visited on Sunday, November 11, when the colors were just starting to change. About a week prior, I decided to take a 1-night, 2-day trip to Kyoto with my mother, who is nearly 80. Since I wanted to navigate the expected crowds due to the autumn leaves as smoothly as possible, I found this plan. We arrived at 5:25 PM, and it seemed that the entry to Eikando was around 5:30 PM. There was a long line at the parking lot, but we crossed that and were guided to the dining area shortly after 5:30 PM.

The meal was a standard kaiseki, but I was glad to have the yudofu (hot tofu). The taste was average, so I deducted one star for that. Although it was quite crowded inside, it was beautiful, so I recommend it. Around 7:30 PM, we were also able to listen to a performance of gagaku, which was nice. It would have been even better if there had been some guidance about that.

It was a great help that we could enter without burdening my elderly mother and without wasting time. When I made the reservation, my questions were answered quickly and politely, which made me feel at ease when applying. Thank you very much.

I recommend this for those who want to enter without waiting.

色づきはじめの11/11の日曜日に行きました。
1週間ほど前に1泊2日で京都に行くことを決めて、もうすぐ80になる母と一緒でしたので、紅葉で混雑予想の中、なるべくスムーズに回りたいと思っていたら、このプランを見つけました。1725着で、永観堂の拝観入場は、1730〜のようでしたが、駐車場の方にもぐるぐると長蛇の列、そこを横切り1730過ぎには食事会場にご案内いただきました。
お食事は、普通の京懐石でしたが、湯豆腐がたべられて良かったです。お味は普通でしたので、その分星⭐️を一つ下げました。
中も大混雑でしたが、綺麗でしたので、おすすめです。1930ころでしょうか？雅楽の演奏も聴けて良かったです。せっかくなので、その案内があるともっと良かったかもしれません。
高齢の母に負担なく、時間のロスなしで入れたので大変助かりました。予約の際に質問にも迅速に丁寧にお答えいただき安心してお申込みできました。ありがとうございました。
とにかくならばず入りたい方にはオススメです。

Eikando is known for its beautiful red autumn leaves, and I heard this on the way there in a taxi. However, the leaves had just started to change, and the light-up featuring the yellow and green leaves was also fantastical and very beautiful. Without a doubt, it is one of Kyoto's representative spots for autumn foliage.

For dinner, we were able to enter earlier than our reservation time, so we could enjoy our meal at a leisurely pace. While we were waiting, the staff kindly engaged with us and guided us to the garden.

The night viewing only includes the garden and the statue of the returning Buddha, so I think it’s best to explore the entire hall during the day to appreciate the differences between day and night.

永観堂は真っ赤の紅葉が美しいと行く途中のタクシーで聞かされましたが、紅葉が始まったばかりで、黄や緑が多い紅葉のライトアップも幻想的でとても美しかった。間違いなく、京都を代表する紅葉の名所でした。
夕食も、予約時間より早く入れたのでゆっくり食べられました。待っている間、スタッフの方が話しかけてくれたり庭への移動を先導してくれたりと親切でした。
夜間拝観は、庭と見返り様だけなので、昼間堂内全域を見ておくと、昼と夜の違いも楽しめると思います。

We visited the 5:45 PM session on November 8 with my elderly parents.

The meal was not only beautiful, resembling autumn leaves, but also delicious. Although we arrived a bit early, the staff was kind and attentive, which was very helpful.

The autumn leaves were a beautiful tapestry of green and red. We enjoyed the experience comfortably without having to wait in line for the admission tickets.

I arrived quite early for the meal, but I was very kindly attended to, thank you very much. I was able to enter Eikando smoothly and fully enjoy the autumn leaves. My grandmother, who accompanied me, seemed very satisfied as well. Thank you very much.

I participated in the 17:45 session. The transition from the reception to the dining area was well attended. It was great that the flow was very smooth from finishing the meal to the evening viewing.

During lunchtime, all the restaurants were full, so the plan with the yudofu set was convenient and a great deal. I was also able to enjoy the autumn leaves at a leisurely pace.

I had a short two-day trip to Kyoto, and I was really glad that I could have dinner and enjoy the autumn leaves illumination without having to wait in line. Since it was the first day of the illumination and the autumn leaves were a bit early, I hesitated to book this tour, but when I finished viewing and saw the long line for entry, I realized that booking the tour was the right choice.

一泊二日の短い時間の京都観光だったので、夕食も取れて、並ばずに紅葉ライトアップを鑑賞できて、本当に良かったです。
紅葉も少し早いライトアップ初日なので、このツアーを申し込もうか迷いましたが、鑑賞し終わって帰る時も、拝観するために並んでいたので、ツアーを申し込んで正解でした。

We missed the shuttle bus so taking a taxi was our only option. The Hotel Monterey Kyoto front desk was so kind and willing; she called the cab and informed the taxi driver where to drop us off which saved us a lot of time. The shuttle from the restaurant came out and met us about a mile away as the roads get narrow and difficult to find for drivers unfamiliar with that area. The cab fare came out to be about $35-40 from the Hotel (which was less than what I expected). I highly recommend catching the shuttle service on time (be there early as they will leave exactly on time!)-- not only it's more comfortable having someone drive you to the restaurant, but it will save you time and money.

The restaurant is located in a very secluded and quiet area, completely surrounded by nature. They will greet and walk you to your designated table. The guiding lights in the complete dark woods make the ambience more beautiful. All meals will come out in your eating pace... which is important because I eat pretty slow and sometimes course meals rush you to hurry up and eat. I wasn't sure how to eat fish properly (whether I was supposed to eat the whole entire fish or leave the head or tail), so the older lady came over and removed all the bones for me. Service was fantastic.

There were two Maikos that night-- both Maikos came around, very willing to take pictures and answer questions/ conversate with you. When they start their dancing, I couldn't help but to stare in awe. They look like walking dolls. They also had goodies before the show (i.e a fan, canvas bag, etc). It was a pleasant experience. I highly recommend this tour. I want to do this again if I travel back to Kyoto in near future.

From the drive out of Kyoto Center up the cool hills past traditional tiled roofed houses, to our evening end with our gracious hosts smiling behind us as we walked back over the rope footbridge with the twinkling Japanese lanterns lighting the lush green river - A Magical Evening indeed.
Arriving at sunset, you see the beauty of the hot spring resort with our tables overlooking the river and mountain forest. We ordered the snow course (full- larger Kayseki) dinner. Traditional hosts (who speak only a little English) took us to our low tables set with course 1, gift Japanese fans and menu's in English. Sake and beer is additional. We had 2 Maiko's that evening, each separately visited all the tables to take pictures. (they speak Japanese, but can answer a little of English questions) Food was fresh, delicious and so artistically presented course by course. The beautiful dance & musical entertainment was lovely in the intimate setting. Each group had their own tables and the room is not too large. Splurge and treat yourself to this special experience.

This tour is "twice as enjoyable" not only because of the riverside setting but also because you can meet maiko. Three maiko came to visit us. They went around to each table, allowing us to enjoy friendly conversations. It was amazing to see the dance up close. Last time, we had sukiyaki for our meal, so this time I opted for kaiseki. The summer dishes like hamo sashimi and grilled sweetfish were delightful. Additionally, there was a lottery event (on the 3rd and 5th of the month), which added to the excitement! (Although I didn't win anything... (^^;))

川床だけでなく、舞妓さんにも会えるという「２度おいしい」ツアーです。舞妓さんは３人来てくれました。各テーブルに回ってきてくれるので、気さくにおしゃべりを楽しむことができました。舞もすぐ近くで見ることができて最高でした。前回は食事がすき焼きだったので、今回は懐石にしてみました。鱧おとしや鮎の塩焼きなど、夏らしい料理で良かったです。また、今回はちょうど抽選会(３と５のつく日)があって、ワクワク感を楽しめました！（何も当たりませんでしたが…(^^;)）

Momojiya has a very relaxing atmosphere, and I had plenty of food to eat! Please check out temples in the area, if you have time.

The timing of the autumn leaves and cherry blossoms varies each year, and I was anxious about whether I would see good foliage, but I hit the perfect season. Until now, when I thought of autumn leaves, I pictured the mountains, but here at Eikando, it was truly a garden that seemed to have gathered trees specifically for the autumn leaves. It's filled with autumn foliage, and you can see an abundance of leaves. This tour is just a package that includes meals and entrance fees with a meet-up and disperse on-site, and if I went on my own, I could visit at a lower cost. However, everyone is eager to enjoy the autumn leaves, and it was very crowded with tourists. Considering the hassle of finding less crowded dining spots, I’m glad I signed up for this tour.

紅葉や桜の開花の時期は毎年異なり、良い紅葉が見られるかとヤキモキしていましが、まさにベストシーズンに当たりました。
これまでは紅葉と言うと山々の紅葉を思い描いていましたが、ここ永観堂は、
まさに紅葉のために樹木を集めたがごとくの庭園のでした。
紅葉づくし、、で、これでもかというぐらいの紅葉が見られます。
このツアーは、現地集合現地解散の食事と入園料を組んだだけのもので、勝手に自分個人で行けば、もっと安価に訪れることができるでしょう。
しかし、紅葉を楽しもうとするのは皆さん同じで観光客でとても混雑しています。空いている食事場所探しや手間を考えると、このツアーを申し込んで良かったと思います。

I want to tell my daughter about this wonderful place. The fresh green was dazzling. I thought I might feel lonely traveling alone, but that wasn't the case at all. The driver and everyone else were very welcoming, so I didn't feel lonely. The greenery of the mountains is beautiful.

こんなところに素敵な場所があるなんて、娘にも是非教えたいです。新緑のあおがまぶしかったです。ひとりたびで寂しいかと思ったが、そんなこともなく運転手さんはじめ皆さんが快くもてなしてくれたから、寂しいとはおもわなかったです。山の緑ステキですね。

The atmosphere by the river, the delicious food, chatting with the maiko, and watching the fireflies were all wonderful! I want to take my grandmother next time. ^^

川床の雰囲気、おいしいご飯、舞妓さんとのお話、ホタル鑑賞全てが良かったです！

My parents took this tour and had a wonderful time. The setting was beautiful and the evening couldn’t have been more perfect with nice warm weather. They really enjoyed the meal of Shabu Shabu and felt the meat was tender and delicious. They really enjoyed meeting the Maiko and admiring her beautiful clothing and make up as well as her dancing. They staff were all very friendly and the included transport back to their hotel was very convenient.

We were so glad that we decided to purchase this dinner. The restaurant have an amazing view of the river and eating at the kawandoko (terrace on top of the river) is an experience not to be missed. We got the shabu shabu meal and it was perfect since when we went, it was raining and cold, so it was the perfect warming up meal for us.
The maiko came at around 7 and talk to each of the table, take photos and answer a few simple questions. She can't speak well in English, but she can understand if you speak basic English and very slowly. Then she performed 2 dances, they both very elegant and beautiful.
At around 8 pm, the restaurant switch off the lights, so that we can watch fireflies around the riverside. Apparently this is only happens in June. It was truely an amazing and unforgettable experience for both of us.
The pick up and return transfer is pretty efficient too, very happy overall. Definitely would recommend!

This tour is especially recommended for adult women! It's guaranteed to boost your femininity. The fresh greenery of Kibune is a place where nobles once sought coolness, crossing mountains to reach this coveted summer retreat. Below the suspension bridge flows a clear stream, accompanied by the sounds of waterfalls and rivers, as well as the calls of the stream frogs. Enjoy delicious mountain and ocean delicacies. Additionally, you'll have the chance to interact with maiko and watch their dances. The experience concludes with firefly viewing, making it a truly precious experience that you can't normally enjoy. The staff were very pleasant, and I felt great throughout. I had a wonderful time. Thank you very much!

特に、大人の女性におススメ！女子力アップ間違いなしのツアーです。新緑の貴船。そこは、かつて貴族が涼を求め、山を越えて行った憧れの避暑地。吊り橋の下は清流。滝と川のせせらぎ、カジカの鳴き声。美味しい山の幸、海の幸。そして、舞妓さんとの触れ合いと踊りの鑑賞。最後の締めは、蛍鑑賞など、全てのものが普段では味わえないとても貴重な体験。お店の皆様もとても感じが良く、気持ち良かったです。とても楽しめました。本当にありがとうございました。
