Okinawa Snorkeling

The day was windy and we had to fight against the wind in the widest place of the mangrove but nothing too difficult. A little bit of rain at some times. All in all you it helped you feel the nature. The guide gave us wo... morenderful explanations on the ecosystem. The experience was great, with a friendly group and guide.
In the afternoon, weather improved and the same guide lead us to the river where we could enjoy a safe canyoning experience for beginners. It was amazing and so much fun.
Thanks for everyone who made it possible to enjoy those activities in the wild of Iriomote island.

Amazing experience with lots of things to do, beautiful scenery both above and under water, we have seen many kinds of fish and also we were swimming with a turtle. Staff created amazing photos. Diving can be done up to ... more3 times and also parasailing.

In the package a single diving (~20 mins) is included, additional diving costs 5500 yen which was not disclosed until we were on the boat. Parasailing is also extra. It's actually understandable but this information should be properly disclosed, I though I could get 2 dives with the initial price.

I absolutely loved our half day of snorkeling with Marine Club Berry! The staff was extremely helpful, polite, and friendly! Their facilities were extremely clean and well organized. The staff also allowed individuals to... more wander and explore while keeping a very close eye on us.

The site chosen for us to snorkel was beautiful with crystal clear and bright blue waters. We swam through schools of brightly colored fish, saw a black tip reef shark, and a million other beautiful creatures.

The price was reasonable and worth every single penny!

We had pretty flawless trip out to the Kerema Islands with Marine House Seasir. The tour was entirely in Japanese but the staff at the shop could speak some English. The place was easy to find and we could park about a b... morelock away near the port. After filling out our paperwork (in English), we could leave small valuables at the shop, we headed to the boat, which had ample space for everyone as well as equipped with showers, changing rooms, bathrooms all of our gear and even some fun extras like a water slide.

We were given a brief introduction to snorkeling by the staff and arranged into teams with a guide for each group on the boat. The guides were very bubbly and fun! Being this was my children's first time, this really put them at ease.

The ride out to the islands wasnt too long and we could enjoy the ocean breeze. Once we reached our point, we put on our gear and away we went into the water. Keep in mind, you are either required to wear a life vest or a wetsuit. If you forgo the wet suit, you must wear a life vest while snorkeling. We could see a variety of fish and living coral out on the reef as well as a sea turtle and sea snake. The guides encouraged us to stay together for the first half hour or so then we had a water break, After that we could choose what we would like to do. There were jet skis, banana boats and parasailing available for an extra fee, and using the waterslide was free and a lot of fun. You could also continue snorkeling as long as you stayed in the general vacinity of the boat.

The staff took pictures and gave us a QR code to get the pictures from a web site. Using that web site is a bit complicated and it isnt in English, so I needed some help from my Japanese husband when I got home.

Overall the trip was pretty good value for the money. I would certainly recommend it, especially for beginners.
