I gifted this whale watching tour to my sister and her husband for their 25th wedding anniversary. My husband and I also participated, so there were four of us. The whale watching was the highlight of this trip, but while there were a couple of whale spouts, I couldn't see them clearly. The journey there took quite a while, and the waves made the boat rocky, but we managed to endure it because we were excited about seeing whales. I participated in this trip because I wanted to show my husband the dynamic appearance of whales. I understand that it's about facing nature, but it was very disappointing that we only saw the spout a couple of times and the tail in the distance! To make matters worse, we were running late on the way back, and the boat was going too fast. We were splashed by the waves, and because of the roughness, many people were getting seasick and vomiting. It was unbearable to see the mess in front of us on the boat. I understand the staff's intention to help us see the whales, but I wonder if it would have been better to leave with the disappointment of not seeing them rather than the feeling of nausea. All I have left are the scenes from the boat! I really wanted to see the big whale! I hope to have another chance to try again next time.

As for the process leading up to the encounter, first, we took a free shuttle to the meeting point, which was a really large bus typically used for tours (this may vary depending on the number of participants). 出会うまでの過程は、
まず、無料送迎で集合場所へ、ツアーなどで使われるような本当に大型のバスでした。(これは参加人数などで変わるのかもしれません。)

主要道路に近いホテルを取る事をオススメします。

道中、バスの中で、参加の注意事項が記載された紙を渡され、それを一読し、サイン欄に名前を記入します。

送迎希望参加者のホテルを周り三重城港へ、
バスを降りてみると外人さんばかりでした。
特に中国の方が多かったです。

待合所にてバス内でサインをした注意事項を提出、
この時チケットとポストカードとクジラブック(こちらは1グループに1冊)を貰いました。
待合所にはトイレ、喫煙所もあります。
船内にも両方あるものの、こちらで済ませておいた方が良さそうです。

参加者確認の際にもらったチケットの色で
乗る船が分かれるようで、私は緑色で写真の船でした。
船に最大乗船人数が70と書いてありましたが、載っていたの大体30〜40人くらいだったと思います。
乗船時ライフジャケットの配布があり、
羽織って紐で結ぶタイプのものだったので、着用は簡単でした。
ところが、ライフジャケットにかなりの保温効果があり、暑かったのでダウンジャケットを着ていたのですが脱いで、再ライフジャケット装着しました。
最後まで特に寒くは無かったです。
船内1階の至る所にピンク色のビニール袋が下げてあり、
酔ってしまった方にすぐ対応出来るようになってました。

ある程度沖に出ないと2階に上がるのは危ないそうで
船内脇の段差に1階に座り、いよいよ出航です。

港を出て10分程で2階が解放され、2階に上がる時にカッパを手渡してくれたのですが、
上がった先は荒波暴風で中々着られないどころか、
飛ばされないか不安でした…
その時スタッフの方が「こちらの方が揺れがマシですよ。」と低めの座席に誘導してくれましたが、
確かに揺れはマシなものの荒波暴風は変わらない為、
中途半端に着て諦めました。

その後、30分程上下左右に揺さぶられ系絶叫アトラクションです。
あまりの楽しさにずっと爆笑していました。
本当にかなり揺れるので推奨されている通り
滑りにくいスニーカーで行かないと
不本意なダイビングをする事になりそうです…

乗り物酔いしやすい方はもちろん、小型の船に乗った事がない方は2階には上がらず、こちらも推奨されている通り酔い止めを飲んでおいた方が安心です。

そして、船のスピードが緩まり…
主役のご登場です‼︎
見られた感想としては冒頭の記載通り、
船長がクジラの向かって行く方向に船を向けてくれるのでとても見つけやすかったです。

見ている時の状況は、やはり波が高いので揺れます。
2階で見ようとすると、前の方に操舵席があり、その後ろにロープが張ってあるので、それに捕まって見ることになるのですが、揺れや後ろの人の状況によってお腹にロープがめり込んで同乗していた友達は具合が悪くなっていました。

大体30分程クジラを眺め、ふと船がUターンして、何かな？と思ったら帰港でした（笑）
帰りもそれなりに揺れましたが行きより揺れがましな気がしました。

大体2時間ほどで港に戻り、
その後飛行機に乗る予定だったので、送迎は使わず
バスに預けていた荷物を引取り、
待合所に看板のあるタクシーを呼んで
那覇空港に向かいました。

そこそこ濡れてしまうので、髪がパキパキになります。
ツアー参加後はシャワーを浴びる時間を作った方が良さそうです。

今回見られたのは、悠々泳ぐ姿のみなので
派手さはありませんでしたが、これからのシーズンオスのクジラに会えたりするとまた違うのかもしれません。

私は船が楽しかったので、クジラに会えるかは期待し過ぎず、アトラクション目的でまた参加させて頂きたいと思います。

I participated in a tour on December 26. The weather was supposed to be good and I was told I wouldn't get wet, but while sitting outside on the boat, I ended up completely soaked. Unfortunately, we spent three hours on the boat without seeing anything and had to return. I was continuously vomiting due to seasickness. I understand it's nature, but it turned into a very sad memory for me.

On December 26th, I experienced this with my elderly mother, starting at 9 AM.

The day before, I received a call while I was still on the plane regarding the pickup, but since there were no messages, I felt anxious. In the end, I called them at night. All other communications were via email, so I thought it would be better to receive important information through email.

The pickup from the Regency Hotel was at 8:05 AM, and we were the first ones. As people from various Asian countries boarded, it felt like we were traveling abroad, filled with a sense of exoticism.

Before boarding, we signed in at a small hut and received a photo of a whale as a special gift along with a simple pair of binoculars. We were fine, but there were others who hadn’t received theirs after boarding, and they were told they would be given them after confirming once we got off, so I recommend being proactive and collecting them before boarding.

The boat had two types of seating: one in the dark bow and another with large windows at the back. The back was filled with foreigners, leaving some Japanese families and a few foreigners seated in the bow where they couldn’t see outside. Since the view was blocked unless you stood up and the engine noise was very loud, many people ended up falling asleep.

Once we set sail, the boat started to sway, and about 15 minutes in, some people in the bow began to feel nauseous. リージェンシーホテルのピックアップは８時５分で一番乗りでした。次々とアジア圏の方が乗り込み異国情緒漂い海外に観光したような気分でした。

乗船前に小屋の中で署名をしたり特典のクジラの写真と簡易双眼鏡をいただきました。
私達は大丈夫でしたが乗船してからもらってない方がいらして、降りたあとに確認してから渡すと言われていたので、乗る前に自分たちで積極的に受けとるのがお勧めです。

船は前方の暗い船底？と後方の広い窓の２タイプの座席があり、後方は全て外国の方で埋まってしまい船底の外が見えない席に一部の外国の方と日本人の何家族が座りました。景色が立ち上がらないと見えないのとエンジン音がすごく大きく話も出来ないので皆さん寝てしまう方が多かったです。

出航すると15分位から船底タイプの座席から吐く方が出るほど船は揺れました。皆さん乗船前に酔い止め薬はのんでいたそうなので自信がない方は覚悟が必用です。
また酔う可能性のある方は外が見える方が酔いにくいかと思います。

一時間少し乗ったところで慶良間諸島が見え、こちらがスポットだそうで、エンジンが止まり揺れがひどくなりました。

濡れたりしないようウインドブレイカー等の着用が薦められていますが、それと救命胴衣の着用でかなりうだるような暑さで、皆さん汗だくでした。
しかも船内は暗く風が通らないので、今まで大丈夫だった方まで具合が悪くなりました。

慌てて皆さん着ていたアウターを脱ぎました。私もデッキに出るときに着直そうと薄いダウンを脱ぎました。

ここでクジラが出現してくれたら皆さん気分が変わって良かったのだと思いますが、自然相手はそううまくはいきません。

20分ほど停泊しましたがクジラは現れず吐く方が沢山いました。
見晴らしの良い後方からもさすがに具合が悪くなる方が出ました。

ただし、変な話で恐縮ですが、皆さん量はあまりもどさないのか殆ど臭いがしなかったのでつられて具合が悪くなるようなことはありません。
用意されたエチケット袋も二重で枚数も沢山準備がありその点は安心できます。心配な方は口をすすぐお水は持参された方が良いです。

また酔いがひどい方は最後尾の風が当たる場所にスタッフさんに連れられていき景色も見え少しは楽なように見えました。
この日は10人くらい最後尾でお世話になっていました。

やむなく場所を移動してクジラの出現を待ちましたが水中マイクでも声もせず諦めて戻ることになりました。

港に戻りグループの代表に１枚ずつ乗船券を渡されました。一人１枚ずつはいただけなかったのですが万が一再チャレンジは一人だけなのでしょうか？それとも全員可能なのでしょうか？
記載がないので少し心配です。

1月中旬でないと見られる確率が低いと聞いてはいましたがその通りでした。

本当の良さは味わえないままのホエールウォッチングツァーになり残念でした。

I was looking forward to possibly seeing sea turtles based on reviews. On the day of the trip, the weather was partly sunny but mostly cloudy. After completing the check-in, just before departure, the staff announced the visibility level (level 5 being the best). That day, it was level 2, which meant visibility was poor. (I heard level 1 means you can't see anything... maybe we should cancel then.) Once we got out to sea, we moved to the lower deck of the boat. The visibility was indeed as the staff had said, bad... But even with that, we could see some things. Mainly corals, small fish, and sea snakes, with the occasional larger, less cute fish. Haha. I definitely think it's best to go during the peak season on a sunny day. I suggest not rushing your reservation; it might be better to check the weekly weather forecast first. Also, even if it's hot in town, it can be quite windy on the boat, so I recommend bringing a jacket.

I participated three times and encountered the sunset twice. Is it a privilege of attending alone? I was able to enjoy my meal at a two-person table by the window and had a beautiful view. The staff on board were also very approachable, which made any worries disappear. Matsumoto's singing and performance were amazing!!! It's a shame that I couldn't fully immerse myself in the music because of the meal! I bought the CD without hesitation. Every time I listen to the CD, I think of the sunset in Okinawa, the Moby ship, the staff, and Matsumoto. Next time I participate, I will bring my wife along to share the experience together!

It was our first boat ride with our child who just turned 4 years old. Since it was a windy day, we were informed during the boarding instructions that the fish would be hard to see.

We were allowed to move freely between the first and second floors until we reached the point to see the fish. It was a bit cold, but our child, who loves rides and was experiencing a boat for the first time, was very excited!

When we arrived at the point, we entered the underground room where we could see the fish. I wasn't expecting much since we were told visibility would be poor, but there were actually quite a few fish! I was worried about seasickness, but it turned out fine.

While on the boat, there was a continuous explanation about the Orca, but it was a bit disappointing that the engine noise and other sounds were too loud to hear it well. I would like to ride again next time when the water clarity is better!

I was a little skeptical while booking the Underwater Sightseeing cruise . Saw a lot of reviews and choose this tour. I am so happy that I choose this tour. It was a perfectly sunny day with high tide. The tour organizers informed that the visibility level is low, even before the tour begun. We were made to travel in the boat for 15-20 minutes into the Sea, before being asked to get to the seabed observation deck that opens up only after the boat reaches a particular area in the sea.
My kids loved what they saw - It was absolutely beautiful to watch the amazing underwater seabed with its own flora/fauna , fishes. Its so much different from what we get to see in an aquarium like Churaumi. This is LIVE & pretty much Alive ! Though the organizers told us that visibility is going to be low, it was much better than we initially thought of. The Boat takes a full circle allowing the guests to have a full view of the ocean floor.
I would recommend anyone to take this boat ride & have great fun. The kids will absolutely enjoy it !

After the cruising, we had a lunch buffet at the hotel. The hotel was close to the port, and the food was delicious.

However, on the last day, which was our whale watching day, the weather was perfect. The guide was very friendly and made the experience enjoyable.

At first, I was worried that we wouldn't see any whales, but we were able to see them clearly. It was also memorable to see a mother and baby whale together.

There were many people on the boat, including not only Japanese tourists but also a lot of foreign tourists, such as those from China. Since it had been rainy for several days, the waves were a bit high, and it seemed that more than half of the foreign tourists were seasick. However, our group had no issues. I tend to get motion sickness easily, so I took some medication beforehand, which helped. I recommend that anyone who is worried about seasickness take some medication as well.

Overall, it was a satisfying tour with good weather and no seasickness.

船には多くの人が乗っていて、日本人だけでなく中国人観光客など外国人が多かったです。雨の日が続いていたこともあり、若干波が高かったこともあり外国人の観光客の方の半分以上が船酔いしていたようでしたが、私たちグループは問題ありませんでした。もともと、酔いやすいタイプなので事前に酔い止めを飲んで防げたので、心配な方は酔い止めを服用するといいと思います。
船酔いすることもなく、いい天気で楽しいツアーだったので満足です。

Me and my girlfriend decided to go on a trip to ride on a underwater sightseeing cruise. It was really easy to find the place and it's about a 45 minute drive from kadena if your taking the expressway from kadena going to Naha and about an hour going 58 depending on how the traffic flow would be. Anyway, I'd say it's been an average experience cause we didn't exactly have of good view underwater cause of the unexpected weather so the sand under the water is everywhere but it was amusing on how the crew brings out the fish towards you, you'd be on this boat that carries about 20 to 30 people out to the ocean It was about 5 miles out of the port to reach our destination and has a way to go below the boat with seats in the middle and has glass on both sides so you can see the fish, I was really surprised and me and my girlfriend really enjoyed it but I got sea sick after 10 minutes of staring at the fish which took us a total of 1hr and a half tour.

Near the boarding area, there was an airport where we could see planes taking off and landing, which was very exciting. Through the glass windows, we could see various types of fish, and with the guide's explanations, I learned a lot about them, which was fascinating. The fish with six stripes was particularly impressive. However, since the explanations were only in Japanese, I was a bit concerned whether the foreign guests understood.

The duration of about 50 minutes was just right, but if I could wish for more, I would have liked to see fish at another spot. It was such a fun experience, and my family and I had a valuable time together. By the way, near the boarding area, there was a diner where we could enjoy delicious, affordable, and hearty meals. The staff at the diner informed us about it, allowing us to have a good meal before departure. 乗り場の近くには飛行場もあり、飛行機の離着陸が見られたことも、とてもワクワクして楽しかったです。ガラス張りの窓からは、いろいろな種類の魚が見え、添乗員さんの説明もあり、魚のことを知ることができておもしろかったです。特に、６本の線がある魚が印象的でした。ただ、説明が日本語だけだったので、外国の方は理解できているのかなとちょっと気になりました。約５０分間という時間も丁度よかったのですが欲を言えば、別のポイントの魚も見てみたかったです。それくらいとても楽しく、親子で貴重な体験をすることができました。ちなみに、船の乗り場の近くには、安くて美味しくボリューミーな料理が堪能できる食堂もありました。その食堂は受付の方が教えてくださり、出発前に腹ごしらえをすることができました。全体的にスタッフの方々の対応が丁寧で、いろいろと初めて尽くしの私たちにはとてもありがたかったです。
今度、沖縄に来た時はランチ券付きのクルーズに参加したいと思います。

また、母の追悼旅行でしたが、急な変更にも快くご対応していただき、大変良い思い出になりました。
