Since my son liked it, we took a glass-bottom boat ride in Kabira Bay again. The captain skillfully anchored the boat so we could observe the beautiful fish and coral, which was very interesting. Even though it wasn't far away, there were both deep and shallow areas, and I was impressed by how varied Kabira Bay is.

This was actually my second time experiencing this. When I arrived at Kabira Bay, I was immediately captivated by the beautiful sea. Just seeing this scenery makes me truly feel that it was worth coming here.

After thoroughly enjoying the view, I completed the check-in and finally boarded the boat. Depending on the day and the boat, the number of guests may vary, but those who boarded together are bound by some connection and will become companions to enjoy the cruise until the end.

While admiring the beautiful coastal scenery, the boat soon headed to the coral point. The captain guided us while we admired the beautiful branching corals and round corals. There were many mysterious creatures on the seabed. Various colorful fish, including a type of clownfish, decorated the bottom of the boat.

The boat continued further out, depending on the day and the captain, venturing boldly into the open sea. It felt like we were almost near the open ocean, as the color of the water deepened to a more vibrant blue, revealing the depth below. The mystery increased, and we encountered coral formations that could only be seen while diving, along with larger fish.

Before long, the cruise came to an end, and we returned to the shore, fully satisfied. Finally, I indulged in delicious Blue Seal ice cream at one of the many shops near the check-in area, or enjoyed tasty Yaeyama soba at the park tea house. This was an absolutely recommended glass-bottom boat tour.

川平湾に着いたら先ず、美しい海にウットリ。
あー、この景色を見るだけで、本当に来てよかったと思うこと間違いありません。

たっぷり景色を堪能したら、受付を済ませ、いよいよボートに乗船。
日によって、便によってお客さんの入りもマチマチかと思いますが、一緒に乗ったのは何かの縁、最後までクルーズを楽しむ仲間となります。

美しい岸辺の景色を見ながら、ボートは程なくしてサンゴポイントへ。綺麗なエダサンゴや丸いサンゴをみつつ、船長さんがガイドしてくれます。
海底には不思議な生き物が沢山。クマノミの一種や、それに属するような色々な煌びやかな魚達が、ボートの底面を彩ってくれます。

ボートは更に進み、日によって？船長さんによって？グングン沖に繰り出して行きます。もう、ほとんど外海に近いのか、底面の色は益々青く一変し、深度が伺える沖合に出てきました。
神秘さは更に増して、ダイビングでもしなければ見られないようなサンゴの群生、更にサイズの大きな魚達と巡り会えました。

程なくしてクルーズは終了、大満喫のうちに岸辺に戻り。最後は受付付近に沢山ある売店で、美味しいブルーシールアイスを堪能。若しくは公園茶屋で美味しい八重山そばを食べるのお良いでしょう。

I finally visited Kabira Bay, which I had wanted to see for a long time, and decided to take a glass-bottom boat! It was wonderful to peek into the underwater world, which is quite different from what you see from above! I even got to see unique corals like Nemo and potatoes! Although it was a large boat, I found myself feeling seasick from looking down while it was swaying, so I wish I had taken some motion sickness medication.

I used this service for the first time. Honestly, I didn't have high expectations at first, but once I participated, I was amazed by how beautiful the sea was. The captain was great at predicting where the diving whales would surface next! Even while the whales were submerged, I enjoyed the guide's stories. The staff was well-equipped, and everyone was very friendly; their handling of seasickness was excellent.

I've visited Okinawa many times, but I had never experienced this before, so this time I signed up for this tour with hotel pick-up in Naha City!

I was worried because it was raining in the afternoon, but by the time we set sail, it was beautifully sunny, with no wind and calm waves, so I had no worries about seasickness at all!

In the first half of the tour, we didn't see any whales at all, and just when I was starting to give up, we spotted a blow (spout) in the distance, and thanks to the captain chasing it at full speed, we were able to see it up close!

I didn't get to see it jump dramatically, but just encountering it was moving!

According to the guide, we were able to see six whales. They all looked the same to me, but I learned that the patterns on their tails are different!

午後便で、雨が降ったりで心配でしたが、出航時には見事に晴れて、風もなく波も穏やかで、船酔いの心配は全くありませんでした！

ツアー前半は全くクジラの姿がなく、少し諦めてた矢先、ブロー(潮吹き)が遠くの方で見えて、船長が全速力で追いかけてくれたおかげで、近くで見ることが出来ました！

豪快にジャンプする姿は見れませんでしたが、遭遇出来ただけでも感動しました！

ガイドさん曰く、6頭ものクジラに会えたそう
私には全てが同じに見えましたが、尾びれの模様が違うことを教えてくれました！

It took about an hour to reach offshore, and we spotted a whale. On this day, around 11 boats gathered for the observation. Each boat seemed to keep a distance while chasing the humpback whales, and perhaps due to the blue whales, we had to search for their surfacing spots, which felt like they were about 200 to 300 meters away from the boats. We were able to see breaching.

When I participated last January, there was a mother and calf whale, so their diving time was shorter, and at times we were as close as 10 meters, which felt much closer.

Since there were many international guests on board, I think it would have been more enjoyable if there had been explanations about the whales. (On another boat, there was a lecture, and they used an underwater microphone to listen to their calls, but I couldn't hear it...)

この日は11隻程の船が集結しての観察となりました。どの船も間隔を空けてザトウクジラを追いかける感じでしたし、オスクジラの為か、潜水すると浮上する場所を探すこととなり、船からは200〜300m離れたところにいた感じでした。ブリーチングが見れました。
前回1月に参加した時は、親子クジラだったので潜水時間も短く、10m程の距離の時もあったので遠かったです。

海外の方たちが多く乗船されていた為なのか、クジラについての説明があるともっと楽しめたと思います。(別船ではレクチャーがあり、水中マイクを入れて鳴き声を聞く様なこともありました。でも聴けなかったですけど、、、。)

I had some concerns about participating with three small children, but they were very considerate, allowing both adults and children to enjoy it with peace of mind. We were able to see many whales safely, making it a very valuable experience. My family and I are discussing that if we have the opportunity to go to Okinawa during this season again, whale watching is a must! We would like to rely on them again at that time.

当日朝の急な予約でしたが、スムーズに対応していただき、念願のホエールウォッチングを体験することができました。
小さい子供3人連れての参加でいろいろと不安はありましたが、いろいろと配慮していただき、大人も子供も安心して楽しむことができて良かったです。
無事にたくさんのクジラ達に会うことができ、とても貴重な体験になりました。
今後もこの時期に沖縄に行く機会があれば、ホエールウォッチングは外せないね！と家族で話しています。

The staff were very kind and explained everything well. They also took care of my child when he got sick, and I really appreciate that.

I saw a whale for the first time! I heard a "pshh" sound, and when I turned around, there was a whale right next to me! It was a wild mother and baby whale. This was my third whale watching experience, but we only saw their backs this time.
What was even more disappointing was that there were no explanations about the whales' ecology or their calls during the trip.

But it was nice that we were allowed to sit across the railing at the bow of the boat when we reached the viewing point (^ - ^)

However, it's a matter of luck, and the whales were farther away than I expected (laughs). The guide was friendly and kind, which made for a comfortable experience.

On the day of the trip, it was sunny and the waves looked calm, but once we set sail, the boat rocked quite a bit. We took motion sickness medication, so we were fine, but many others seemed to be struggling with seasickness, and the staff appeared to be busy helping them. About two-thirds of the passengers were foreigners. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see any whales, which made half of our precious trip feel wasted. It seems that the chances of encountering them are quite low in late December. In February, however, they say you can see them almost every day. Although the internet advertised a high probability of sightings, it didn't specify the timing, so we were unaware. We received a re-boarding ticket, but it's difficult for travelers to return during that period.

The weather was nice, but the view underwater seemed different from what we saw from the port. Due to rough seas, we couldn't go out far, and I was told before departure that visibility was rated a 4 out of 5, meaning it wasn't very good.

However, even though the wind was blowing, it was sunny, and being on the boat felt great. There were quite a few foreign participants who were very happy and taking lots of photos.

The guide provided instructions, and when we went down to the lower part of the boat, it felt like we were inside a transparent box in the sea.

Fish were swimming beside us, and we could see them and the corals quite clearly! (It might be presumptuous to say this,) but while we couldn't swim with the fish, I felt like I understood a bit of what divers experience.

Families and their children were also enjoying themselves.

Although it was a short time, the organizers and guides were kind professionals, and I felt at ease. Thank you very much.

しけで沖まで出れなく、見れる度合いも１－５段階であまり見れない、４と出発前にいわれました。

ですが、風は吹いていたものの、晴天で船の上は気持ち良かったです。
（参加者に外国人も結構いて、とても喜んで写真撮影をしていました。）
担当の方から案内があり、船の下の部分に降りていくと海の中で自分たちが透明の箱の中に入っている感じがしました。

身体の両脇に魚が泳いでいて、結構クリアに魚が泳いでいる様子やサンゴがみれました！　（おこがましいかもしれませんが）魚と一緒に泳ぐ、等はできませんが、少しダイバーの気持ちがわかった気がしました。

家族連れの参加者やそのお子さんたちも楽しんでいました。

短い時間でしたが主催者の方や案内の方が親切なプロで安心して過ごせました。有難うございます。

また参加したいと思います。
