I had heard that there are many bad weather days during this season, but on the day we attended, we were able to see a beautiful starry sky and shooting stars! Hiking in the mountains felt like an adventure and was a lot of fun!

Unfortunately, it was cloudy all day, but I was able to enjoy a fun tour around Taketomi Island, Yufu Island, and Iriomote Island. It was great that I could fully enjoy the sights on Taketomi Island by renting a bicycle. However, I was a bit disappointed that I didn't receive any communication about the change in the order of the island visits until the morning of the tour, before the meeting time.

The main purpose of this trip was stargazing and photography. Although I heard that winter often has cloudy weather, we were blessed with good weather and encountered a sky full of stars. Our guide was knowledgeable not only about the jungle but also about photography, and I was very grateful for the tips on how to capture the night sky. I will save my encounter with the coconut crab for next time. I believe the nighttime jungle exploration became an unforgettable memory for the children as well. However, I was able to enjoy everything comfortably since the mangroves of Iriomote Island, the water buffalo carts of Yubu Island, and the bus tours of Taketomi Island all had roofs. I was torn between taking the bus tour on Taketomi Island or exploring otherwise, but given the heavy rain, I think I made the right choice. Even with the bad weather, the color of the sea was beautiful and left me in awe.

It was a cold day with bad weather. It wasn't the scenery I had imagined, but it was still a delight for nature lovers. The mangrove forest was impressive, and the only sighting of the kingfisher was captivating. I was moved when a kingfisher showed itself. If I had more time, I would have liked to join a tour to see the giant trees and waterfalls of the kingfisher.
Yufuin Island is covered in deep forests, giving it a mysterious feeling. Personally, I was particularly impressed by seeing the Papilio butterfly and the starfruit, which shows growth from flower to fruit, at the butterfly garden.
The bus driver's guidance was wonderful, and I had a fun time learning about the island!

I wanted to enjoy the night in Ishigaki Island, so I joined this tour. I was looking forward to seeing the stars, creatures, and insects that can only be seen here, but the star visibility index was only 9%, so I was disappointed that I couldn't see them. I thought it would be difficult to find creatures and insects, but the guide went to look for a coconut crab and found one, which was amazing! The clear explanations and the fact that they took photos and sent them to me via LINE at the end were great too. I think it depends on the weather and the season, but I had a valuable experience. This was my second time, but it was my husband's first visit to Okinawa! He was so moved by Okinawa that he was left speechless by the various places we experienced. This tour takes you to all the best spots and is absolutely the best tour. I highly recommend it! We are already talking about wanting to return to Okinawa after the reconstruction of Shuri Castle.

I participated in a tour of Iriomote Island for the first time.
The night tour involves walking through thickets with a flashlight, searching for creatures near a small waterfall. Since it was winter, there weren't many animals, but the guide worked hard to find some. We were able to see hermit crabs, crabs, and fireflies.
The top recommendation is stargazing! Honestly, I didn't have high expectations, but I was completely overwhelmed!! During the night tour, I was already moved by the density of stars I had never seen before, but the stargazing at the park recommended by the guide was truly amazing. It was undoubtedly one of the best experiences of my life. I lay on the grass in the park to gaze at the incredibly dense stars, searching for constellations, waiting for shooting stars, and chatting with other participants. It was a beautiful sky that I could look at forever without getting bored. At the end, the guide took some wonderful photos with the starry sky as the backdrop.
If I had experienced this as a child, I wonder if my future dreams and life plans would have changed. It’s an experience that can truly touch the heart of adults as well. I highly recommend it. ナイトツアーは、懐中電灯を手に小さな滝から水が流れる茂みの中を歩きながら生き物を探します。冬だったので生き物が少なかったのですが、ガイドさんが一生懸命探してくれました。ヤドカリ、カニ、ホタル等が見られました。
1番のおすすめは星空鑑賞です！正直そこまで期待はしていませんでしたが、とにかく圧倒されました！！ナイトツアーの最中も、既に見たことのない密度の星たちに感動していましたが、ガイドさんおすすめの公園に移動してからの星空が本当に素晴らしく、間違いなく人生でも指折りの体験が出来ました。まるで別世界にきたと錯覚するほどの密度の星を眺めるために公園の芝生の上で横になって、星座を探したり、流れ星を待ったり、他の参加者の方々と話したりしていました。いつまで見ても飽きることのない素敵な空でした。最後には、ガイドさんが星空をバックに素敵な写真も撮ってくれました。
子供の頃にこの体験をしていたら、将来の夢や人生設計が変わっていたのでは？と思うほど、大人の心も震わせるような体験ができます。本当におすすめです。西表島旅行を計画されている方はお時間が許せば、ぜひ星空鑑賞も旅程に組み込んでください！！
