It was my first time trying stand-up paddleboarding, and the explanations were thorough and very easy to understand, making it enjoyable even for beginners! The water was shallow, so even if you fall, it's only about chest-deep! They were very accommodating, waiting for us if we weren't progressing as expected, and they kindly offered encouragement. When taking photos, they arranged us for the best positions and shots, resulting in many great pictures! This is a must-do when visiting Miyako Island! If I have the chance to go again, I would definitely like to participate again!

On my first visit to Miyako Island, I participated in a sunset SUP tour on the first day. The weather was a bit disappointing with many clouds, although it didn't rain, but everything else was very fulfilling! The instructor was very friendly and kind, which made it easy to enjoy the activity. Their teaching was thorough, and both of us were able to stand on the SUP without falling even once, which was a lot of fun.

At one point, we got off the SUP to explore a hill, and during our conversation there, we learned valuable information about Miyako Island's nature, recommended beaches, and shops. It was really enjoyable! We took photos on the hill with great views, creating lasting memories! Finally, lying back on the SUP and just relaxing was very soothing. インストラクターの方がとても親しみやすく親切で、気分良くアクティビティに参加できました。
教え方も丁寧で、参加した2人とも一度でSUPに乗れて一回も落ちることなく楽しめました。
途中一度SUPを降りて丘を散策したのですが、そこでの会話で宮古島の自然やおすすめのビーチやお店など宮古島の有益な情報を教えてもらいました。とても楽しかったです！！
景色がいい丘の上で写真を撮り、思い出に残りました！
最後にSUPの上に寝転がってぼーっと過ごす時間はリラックスできました。次回は夕焼けが見れる時に申し込みたいと思いました！

It was my first time snorkeling, but they clearly explained how to put on the equipment, so I was able to start without any anxiety. I visited Miyako Island in mid-June.

Unfortunately, the weather was gloomy and drizzly, so I couldn't see the beautiful ocean of Miyako Island at its best. However, I hoped for a miracle to catch the sunset and decided to try the much-anticipated sunset SUP.

Around 7 PM, I entered the water from the beach on the SUP! That time of day, the sky was orange and the most beautiful.

As I paddled hard and got a little further out, the sun was hiding behind the clouds...

If the weather had been good, I think it would have been the perfect situation.

The instructor taught us how to ride the SUP carefully.

My friend and I are experienced, so we were paddling smoothly and quickly. SUP may seem simple, but it's fun.

However, it does use quite a bit of muscle. It's more about the legs than the arms.

My legs were really sore... especially my quadriceps.

I didn't feel cold in my swimsuit, though.

Since you kneel sometimes, it might be better to wear yoga leggings or rash guard leggings.

We started from the fishing port near the city, and it was a bit disappointing that the water wasn't that clear. I wonder if it was due to the weather or the season...?

ただ、結構、筋肉使います。
腕というよりは足ですね。

足がとても筋肉痛になりました…。
前腿が…。

服装は水着でも寒くはなかったかな。

一応、膝ついたりするから
ヨガスパッツとか、ラッシュガードスパッツは
履いていた方がいいかも。

市街地近くの漁港からスタートで、
なんか、海の水はそんなに綺麗ではなかったのが残念でした。

I originally planned to participate only in canyoning, but I suddenly added snorkeling in the afternoon! It was so much fun jumping in from various spots and sliding down the river like a waterslide! When I requested to have the scenery photographed, they kindly took pictures for me! I received about 140 photos and I'm very satisfied!

Also, the staff were very kind and easy to talk to, which made me feel that just spending the morning on Iriomote Island was not enough, so I quickly signed up for an additional plan in the afternoon! Even though it was a last-minute addition, they responded very politely and promptly, which was really great! Next time, I would like to sign up for a different plan, like canoeing! 😊

We went canoeing at Kabira Bay, and luckily, the weather cleared up, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful scenery during the experience. Ko-chan kept the atmosphere lively on the bus and interacted with all the participants during the canoeing, which was really wonderful. It was a stroke of luck to have him as our guide since he usually works in Iriomote Island!

I think canoeing at Kabira Bay is best done when the weather is nice. It was my first time snorkeling, and I had a blast! There were some unstable spots, and with so many corals around, it might be a good idea for women to wear leggings. Kua-chan guided us slowly and carefully, which made me feel at ease! During the bus rides, he also shared information about Ishigaki Island and recommended delicious restaurants, making the time outside of the activities enjoyable as well. The conversations during the bus ride and throughout the experience were entertaining, making the time enjoyable from the start! During the experience, he shared information about the plants, and whenever we observed something curiously, he quickly explained it, which made me happy to learn more about Iriomote Island! At the end, when the waves turned against us and we were struggling to move forward, he immediately came to our aid and helped us, allowing us to finish comfortably. He was so cool! His attentiveness, communication, and consideration for others were truly wonderful, and he was a guide who didn’t seem like the youngest at all! I wish him all the best in his future endeavors! It was really great. Since it was my first time doing SUP, I was worried about whether I could do it well, but the instructor taught us carefully, and even as beginners, we were able to enjoy it! During the rainy season on Miyako Island, there was heavy rain until the morning, but I received a message that I could change the time for the day. I was able to experience snorkeling and kayaking under the sun.

My companion, who is not a strong swimmer, wanted to try snorkeling, so we signed up for this tour. The instructor provided safety explanations and helped practice swimming in shallow water, allowing my companion to swim independently and see many beautiful fish up close, which was very moving.

We encountered clownfish and even a sea turtle, swimming together at close range, and we were able to capture videos as well.

Additionally, we kayaked at Imugya Marine Garden that day, gently paddling while swaying in the pleasant breeze and calm waves. The instructor also shared recommendations for local spots.

Although it was about a half-day tour, it was neither too packed nor too stretched out; it was just right, and I was very satisfied. I was also happy that the videos and photos were sent to us right after the tour ended.

梅雨最中の宮古島で、朝方までは強い雨が降っていたものの、当日時間を変更頂けるとの連絡をもらい。太陽の下でシュノーケルとカヤックを体験できました。

同伴者は泳ぎが得意でないもののシュノーケルを体験してみたいとのことで、こちらのツアーに申し込みました。
現地でインストラクターの方に安全への説明や浅瀬で泳ぎ方の練習もして頂いたことで、同伴者も独力で泳ぐことができ、たくさんの綺麗な魚たちが泳ぐ姿を至近で観られ、とても感動的でした。

クマノミやなんとウミガメにも出会え、近距離で一緒に泳いだり、動画も撮ってもらえました。

また、カヤックはこの日はイムギャーマリンガーデンにて、心地よい風と穏やかな波に揺られつつのんびりと漕ぎながら、
インストラクターの方から現地のおすすめスポット等も聞けて、、

およそ半日のツアーでしたが、詰め込んだような工程でもなく、かと言って間延びもない丁度良さ、大満足でした。
また、動画や写真をツアー終了後すぐに送って頂くことができたことも嬉しかったです。

I took the ferry from Ishigaki Island at 8:30 and participated in canyoning on Iriomote Island.

The weather was cloudy with occasional rain, which made me a bit anxious, but I didn't feel too cold even in short sleeves and shorts!

After about a 10-minute walk, we arrived at the river and jumped right in! There were several places to jump and slides, and even half a day was enough to have a great time. The guide was also entertaining! It was really so much fun!!

On the way back, I was able to borrow a shower at the office. There are no shampoo, conditioner, or hair dryers, so it’s best to bring your own if you need them!

I’ll definitely recommend this to my friends when I get back!✌️

石垣島から8時半のフェリーに乗って、西表島キャニオニング参加しました♪

天気は曇り時々雨で少し不安でしたが、半袖半ズボンでもあまり寒さを感じることがありませんでした！！

10分くらい歩いて川に着いたらさっそく飛び込み！飛び込む場所やスライダーもいくつかあって、半日でも十分楽しめましたっガイドさんも面白い！ほんとにめちゃくちゃ楽しかった！！

帰りは事務所でシャワーも借りられました。シャンプーリンスドライヤーは無いので、必要な方は持参がよさそうです！

帰ったら友達にもオススメします✌️

I participated in a morning canoeing session and an afternoon sea turtle snorkeling tour.

The day before, I received a call regarding the meeting place, what to bring, and important notes for the day.

On the day of the tour, we gathered at 10:30 at Imugya Marine Garden! The instructor was a cheerful and lively person named Kuma-kun. I was nervous since it was my first time canoeing, but I was grateful for the thorough explanations he provided. It was the middle of the rainy season, and unfortunately, the sea was murky due to heavy rain the day before, but luckily, the weather was calm on the day of the tour, allowing us to paddle smoothly to our favorite spots. I was so excited to discover how much fun canoeing can be! Along the way, we peeked into the water, navigated through narrow gaps between rocks, and even saw an eagle carrying a large fish (Kuma-kun mentioned it was his first time seeing that too). Chatting with Kuma-kun made the 1.5 hours fly by.

After that, we had a lunch break from 12:00 to 14:00, during which we could freely explore, eat at nearby shops, or visit souvenir stores.

In the afternoon, we gathered at Shigira Beach at 14:00, and the instructor was Mao-kun! He provided detailed explanations with great effort. I had done snorkeling a few times before, but I felt that he was the most thorough instructor I had encountered. In the sea, he took us to a spot where we could see clownfish, and then to a location where sea turtles were present for my long-awaited sea turtle snorkeling! I had seen sea turtles from above the water several times, but this time, they were so close that I could reach out and touch them (they stayed about 1 meter in front of me) while they were eating! I was able to witness the turtles coming up for air three times, every five minutes, and it was truly a lot of fun.

About an hour after the tour ended, they sent us many photos of the canoeing and snorkeling via LINE! This was amazing! Also, it's often difficult to take good photos while in the water, so receiving the data was really appreciated.

午後は14:00にシギラビーチに集合で、インストラクターはまおくんです！
一生懸命、丁寧に説明してくださりました。シュノーケリングはこれまで何度かしたことがありますが、今までで一番丁寧に説明してくださるインストラクターさんだな、と感じました。
海では、ニモのいるスポットに連れてってくれて、その後はウミガメがいる場所に連れてってくれて念願のウミガメシュノーケリング！！
ウミガメはこれまで海の上からは何度か見ることはありましたが、手を伸ばせば触れる近距離（目の前1mくらいのところにずっといます。）で、食事をしているところをずっと観察！！ウミガメの5分おきの息継ぎを3回も見ることができて、本当にとても楽しかったです。

ツアーが終了して約1時間後には、LINEを通してカヌーとシュノーケリングの写真をたくさん送ってくれました！これはすごい！また、海で自分で写真を撮ってもなかなかうまくは撮れませんし、データでいただけるのはすごくうれしかったです。

大満足な一日でした。

It was a canoe course around Yufu Island. There were more trees than I expected, and it was challenging to paddle through the jungle, haha. We came to Miyako Island for our honeymoon. Both of us were nervous since it was our first time trying stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), but the guide was kind and taught us well, so we were able to enjoy it with peace of mind! Unfortunately, it was cloudy, and we couldn't see the sunset, but it was great to paddle quietly in the calm waters. I thought standing up was the norm, but since the temperature was low and I definitely didn't want to fall in and get wet, I mostly stayed seated, and it was still plenty of fun. The guide was also very understanding and gently told us it was fine to stay seated, which was nice.

出発前日に潮位の関係でバラス島上陸が難しいかもしれないとのご連絡を頂き、また、天気予報も雨だったので正直、少しがっかりした気持ちでの参加でした。当日はフェリーで西表島へ向かう途中から雨。お迎えの車内で説明を聞き、雨の中カヌーがスタート。50代女3人旅で、カヌーも3人乗り。皆初体験で不安がありましたが、ガイドのりゅうせい君が丁寧に説明して下さり、次第にコツを掴み、マングローブの森の中を進む事が出来ました。滝までのトレッキングは、雨で増水した川を横切ったりとスリル満点の中滝に到着。普段の滝とは様子が違うレアな滝の前で写真撮影。帰りのカヌーも楽しく漕ぎました。午後のシュノーケリングは、諦めていたバラス島にも上陸出来、2カ所のポイントで、素晴らしい珊瑚礁と熱帯魚を見ることが出来ました。りゅうせい君が終始明るく細かく声をかけてくれたので、本当に安心して楽しむ事が出来ました。天候で悩んでる方には雨でも全く心配なく楽しめるツアーなので、オススメしたいです！

In a word, I highly recommend this fun-filled tour.

It was my first time seeing mangroves, and my wife and I leisurely paddled along in a canoe. The guide was fantastic and took a lot of photos for us. It rained a bit, just a light drizzle, but it added to the nice atmosphere.

For lunch, we went to a local restaurant at our own expense (as mentioned in the tour description). I'm glad I brought cash.

In the afternoon, we took a boat to Balas Island for snorkeling. Since we wore life jackets, we didn't sink. The water was clear, there were corals, and we even saw fish from the movie Finding Nemo. The guide took many photos during this time as well. I borrowed prescription goggles for snorkeling, which allowed me to see the fish clearly. I also rented a wetsuit, which helped keep me warm when returning to the boat after snorkeling.

Overall, the guide was very enthusiastic and provided great guidance while taking photos, making the experience really enjoyable.

午後は、ボートでバラス島に行ってスノーケリング。ライフジャケットを付けているので、沈みません。また、水も綺麗で、サンゴもあり、映画のニモもいました。この時もガイドさんがたくさん写真を撮ってくれました。　　
あと、自分はスノーケリングの時は度付きのゴーグルを借りました。はっきり魚が見えてよかったです。あと、ウェットスーツも借りました。その方が、スノーケリング終わってからボートに戻っても寒くないですね。


全体として、ガイドさんがとても楽しそうに色々案内してくれて、写真を撮ってくれるのですごくよかったです。

I was very anxious about the schedule due to the rainy season and the unfavorable weather. I received a notice that the location would change to a place surrounded by a bay because the sea was rough. The sky was cloudy, and I thought it couldn't be helped, so I almost gave up on the sunset. However, by chance, we were able to move to a wider area. Not only did we get to see many fish swimming above the coral, but we were also able to enjoy a beautiful sunset thanks to the open space. This was my first time trying stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), and the instructor taught us slowly and carefully, making it a fun experience! I was also very happy that they took many photos for us. SUP in such a quiet place with beautiful scenery was exceptional, and it truly healed my daily fatigue. It was an amazing experience! If I have the chance to visit Miyako Island again, I definitely want to do sunset SUP again! Thank you very much.

梅雨入りしてしまったため、天気に恵まれない日程でとても不安でした。事前に海が荒れているため、周りを湾に囲まれている場所に変更になると連絡をいただきました。空も曇っており、仕方ないと思いサンセットは半ば諦めて向かいましたが、たまたま運良く広い場所へ移動することができました。珊瑚の真上を通り魚がたくさん見れただけでなく、開けた場所に出れたおかげできれいな夕焼けを見ることができました。SUPは今回が初めてだったのですが、インストラクターの方がゆっくりと丁寧に教えてくださり、楽しく漕ぐことができました！また、写真もたくさん撮っていただけてとても嬉しかったです。とても静かな場所で綺麗な景色を見ながらのSUPは格別で、日々の疲れが癒やされ、本当に素晴らしい体験でした！また宮古島へ来れる機会があれば、必ずまたサンセットSUPをしたいと思います！本当にありがとうございました。
