I learned the basic finger positions and played "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" and "Tinsagu nu Hana." I also took photos in a kimono, which became a wonderful memory.
基本的な指の位置を教わってきらきら星とてぃんさぐぬ花を教えてもらって弾きました。
着物で写真も撮ってもらって良い記念になりました。

The studio was a bit difficult to find by car, but overall fairly accessible. We were greeted by studio staff right away and the lesson began immediately. She was super kind and patient and explained the parts of the sanshin in detail.
The lesson had all the basics, a couple quizzes, a couple challenges, and then finally once we got the hang on it, were able to choose a song ourselves and just play for a while. At the end we were able to ask some questions about the studio, sanshin, the teacher herself, etc.
The ocean view from the studio was excellent and relaxing.
I would definitely recommend this is you're interested in music in any form. It really is a uniquely Okinawan experience.
