Due to the rain in the evening, the stargazing tour was canceled. The night tour for wildlife observation also had to turn back midway because the trail was muddy. I understand it couldn't be helped, but it was quite disappointing in many ways. However, I was very satisfied because I was able to see the forest in full bloom with the Sagarihana. The guide's efforts to keep the mood up and his stories were also entertaining.

I participated in this trip as a solo traveler. Although I felt a bit lonely since there were no other solo travelers, the continuous beautiful scenery made me forget about that. If I could be a little selfish, I would have liked to extend my stay on Iriomote Island and do a bit more sightseeing by bus. Conversely, I think half the time on Yufu Island would have been sufficient. I appreciated that on Taketomi Island, I could choose my return time. As a solo traveler, I was able to see everything quickly, so I had extra time. Overall, it was a wonderful tour that created lovely memories.

I visited Iriomote Island, Yufu Island, and Taketomi Island, and I rode a water buffalo twice. It was fun to cross the sea and ride around the islands while listening to the sanshin. The lunch bento was also a great value, allowing us to enjoy Okinawan ingredients. However, I was a bit disappointed that the mangrove tour lacked variety and felt very long and boring. That's why I gave it four stars.

After 47 years, I came to Iriomote Island, and even at 67 years old, it still excites me. Swimming with the turtles was amazing. The coral at Hatoma Island is just as wonderful as it was in the past. Since my flight was around 7 PM on the last day of my trip, I wanted to make the most of the half day and made a reservation two days prior. It happened to be a day of high tide, so we were able to take a route on the Nakama River cruise that usually cannot be accessed due to low water levels, allowing us to see mangroves that can only be found there. However, the water level was so high that the roots, which are a characteristic of mangroves, were almost submerged. I feel that experiencing the jungle-like atmosphere of the mangroves would be better during low tide. We sat on the right side of the boat, but since the boat traveled upstream along the left bank, I wished we had sat on the left side. (This also depends on the water level, so it can't be said definitively.)

On Yubu Island, we had 90 minutes of free time, including lunch. It takes less than an hour to walk around the entire island, so the time was sufficient. Since the return trip goes via Taketomi Island, if you have extra time, I recommend getting off at Taketomi Island to explore by rental bicycle or ox cart. You can ride an ox cart on Yubu Island, so personally, I think it's best to cycle around Kondoi Beach and Kaiji Beach.

Next time, I want to stay on Iriomote Island and enjoy more activities on the island.

旅行最終日が19時頃の飛行機だったので半日を有効活用したいと思い、二日前に予約を取りました。ちょうど大潮の日の満潮時だったので仲間川のクルーズでは普段水位が足りなくて通ることができないコースを通ることができ、そこでしか見られないマングローブを見ることができました。ただ、水位が高過ぎてマングローブの特徴である根っ子はほぼ水没していました。マングローブのジャングルらしさを味わうなら干潮時の方がいいような気がします。私達はボート右側に座ったのですが、ボートは左岸に沿って川を遡ったので左側に座れば良かったと思いました。（これも水位によって航行ルートが変わるので一概には言えませんが）
由布島では昼食を含めて90分の自由時間がありました。島全体は1時間もかからずに一周できるので時間は充分です。帰りは竹富島経由なので時間に余裕があるなら竹富島で降りて、レンタサイクルや牛車で島を観光することをお勧めします。由布島で牛車に乗れるので、個人的にはレンタサイクルでコンドイ浜やカイジ浜を回るのが良いかと。
次回は西表島に宿泊してもっと島内のアクティビティを楽しみたいです。

We transferred to a bus and headed to the cruise ship terminal. The driver and guide was very good at speaking! After switching to the cruise ship, we observed the mangroves. Having done quite a few guided river cruises in Southeast Asia, I wasn't particularly impressed. We then transferred to another bus to go to the water buffalo cart station. The water buffalo cart ride while listening to Yaeyama folk songs was nice! The Okinawan cuisine at Yubu Island, accompanied by explanations, was delicious! After the meal, we took a commemorative photo with the water buffalo "Rui-kun"! I wanted the photo data and purchased two for 2500 yen. You can quickly download the data with a QR code. Then, there was a thunderstorm! During that time, we enjoyed Yubu Island coffee and cake at the Yubu Island tea house. The coffee was very tasty with a slight acidity. It seems to be a daily blend. 残り時間20分で展望ビルに上り、アイスの商店でアイス購入し、走り回り～またバスで港へ行き船で帰港・・・。クルーズ時間を短くするかして竹富島観光時間を、あと30分は取って欲しい。全ての行程でチケットを切り取り、出すのが大変でした。遊園地の腕輪のようにコース番号印刷をはめれば見せるだけでOKみたいなものを使ってほしいです。

1: I went to see the mangroves in Amami Oshima first, and this time the mangroves were quite disappointing. I do not recommend it. During the hour-long cruise, I listened to music and did other things. I will upload photos on social media, as a reality check.

2: Regarding the ox cart, I was informed by the local staff that moving to a different seat (especially towards the back) puts significant strain on the ox's neck, which has led to instances of fainting and even life-threatening situations in the past. It would have been better if this information had been provided during the adjustment phase when we were confirming our seating positions before departure, but this discussion happened during the return trip. I found it very stressful to receive a stern warning without prior explanation during the outbound trip when we were fixing our seats. I will never visit this island again. It was a very unpleasant experience, and I will not support it.

3: Additionally, the tour did not include the "2022 shuttle bus timetable" until I pointed it out. It was still showing the expired link from early 2021. 管理担当者はツアー会社側と本仲介(マッチングサイト)両者と推測されます。管理担当者の運用意識が私にはわかりかねました。

4:ツアー前日に電話がかかってきてその際に集合時間を案内されますが(他ツアーも同じく)申し込みがWebなのにその後アナログ対応で電話とは。。。IP電話だと電話代発生しますし沖縄旅行だと前日もバタバタしていたり離島や電波の悪い場所にいたり(私はそうでした)。運用システムの改善を強く要望します。
要は、目的が「集合時間、場所相互認識一致」ですよね。
なら申し込みに使用したメールアドレスからそのような画面へうつってクリックするなりすれば目的は果たせますよね？
アプリや大掛かりなシステム開発では費用がかさむこともありますが
この程度のものなら短時間少人数で対応できるわけです。
今回沖縄旅行で2つのツアーを申し込みましたが、現システムの悪さを踏まえてもリピートはありません。
IT知識向上と最新情報のブラッシュアップ、マーケティングを再度見直してください。

上記理由と体験から、ツアー申し込みよりも個別オプションを自分で手配した方が不満回避になると思いました。

The guide was truly knowledgeable about stars, plants, animals, and insects, as expected from a nature school. Rather than just talking at us, they asked many questions, making it enjoyable even for solo participants.

They mentioned at the beginning that they wanted us to feel the transition from dusk to night, which we certainly did during the relaxed tour, allowing us to spend a peaceful time. Canoeing felt more like drifting down the river than actively paddling. As dusk turned to night, we could sense the presence and sounds of creatures starting to become active, and we even saw bioluminescent plankton.

I usually choose activities that involve physical movement, but this tour, which encouraged us to pay attention to things we often overlook, shifted my perspective a bit. It was a thoroughly satisfying experience.

I should have been surrounded by the blue sky and blue sea, creating a rare experience. Even with the cloudy skies and heavy rain, I managed to enjoy it to some extent, but my expectations were too high. (laughs)

The gelato at Yubu Island Chaya was delicious. I felt a bit sad that Taketomi Island has become more touristy compared to my visit 20 years ago.

Due to the rain that fell from the night before, the river swelled! The original plan was quickly revised to include cave exploration and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP). The cave exploration was as thrilling as what you see on TV! It was my first experience wading into the river up to my chin. As for SUP, I struggled a bit during practice, but once I tried it, it was easy and fun! The water submersion after the battle was also a memorable experience, haha. I'm grateful to the staff who worked hard to make the unpredictable weather enjoyable! I had a great time.

I didn't realize we had arrived, and then we started the dark tour by turning the car around in a narrow passageway. I was taken down a path that made me think, "Are we really going this way?!" and right from the start, I got to see a coconut crab.

出発前日に潮位の関係でバラス島上陸が難しいかもしれないとのご連絡を頂き、また、天気予報も雨だったので正直、少しがっかりした気持ちでの参加でした。当日はフェリーで西表島へ向かう途中から雨。お迎えの車内で説明を聞き、雨の中カヌーがスタート。50代女3人旅で、カヌーも3人乗り。皆初体験で不安がありましたが、ガイドのりゅうせい君が丁寧に説明して下さり、次第にコツを掴み、マングローブの森の中を進む事が出来ました。滝までのトレッキングは、雨で増水した川を横切ったりとスリル満点の中滝に到着。普段の滝とは様子が違うレアな滝の前で写真撮影。帰りのカヌーも楽しく漕ぎました。午後のシュノーケリングは、諦めていたバラス島にも上陸出来、2カ所のポイントで、素晴らしい珊瑚礁と熱帯魚を見ることが出来ました。りゅうせい君が終始明るく細かく声をかけてくれたので、本当に安心して楽しむ事が出来ました。天候で悩んでる方には雨でも全く心配なく楽しめるツアーなので、オススメしたいです！

In a word, I highly recommend this fun-filled tour.

It was my first time seeing mangroves, and my wife and I leisurely paddled along in a canoe. The guide was fantastic and took a lot of photos for us. It rained a bit, just a light drizzle, but it added to the nice atmosphere.

For lunch, we went to a local restaurant at our own expense (as mentioned in the tour description). I'm glad I brought cash.

In the afternoon, we took a boat to Balas Island for snorkeling. Since we wore life jackets, we didn't sink. The water was clear, there were corals, and we even saw fish from the movie Finding Nemo. The guide took many photos during this time as well. I borrowed prescription goggles for snorkeling, which allowed me to see the fish clearly. I also rented a wetsuit, which helped keep me warm when returning to the boat after snorkeling.

Overall, the guide was very enthusiastic and provided great guidance while taking photos, making the experience really enjoyable.

全体として、ガイドさんがとても楽しそうに色々案内してくれて、写真を撮ってくれるのですごくよかったです。
