Last year, when I visited Taketomi Island, I was captivated by the water buffalo, so this time I wanted to ride one by the seaside and joined this tour. Unfortunately, it was rainy, but I was still able to enjoy the mangroves on Iriomote Island, the water buffalo on Yubu Island, and the water buffalo on Taketomi Island. Especially on Yubu Island, I was able to touch the water buffalo, which was amazing. I think it would have been even more fun if the weather had been clear, so I hope to visit again someday.

Although there was a forecast for rain on Iriomote Island, it turned out to be sunny during the day, so I booked a stargazing tour. Even though it was the same day, they provided transportation to the hotel. The guide's explanations were great, and I was able to learn more about Iriomote Island for the first time. We observed various plants and animals, including coconut crabs, habu snakes, and crabs. It was a rare experience to step into the lush forest at night. When we emerged from the forest onto the beach, I wanted to say it was a sky full of stars! However, there were a few clouds, and the moon was out, so it wasn't quite the starry sky I had imagined, but I still experienced a wonderful night sky. If I have another chance, I will participate again.

I participated in Teru's tour. I was able to see the Sakishima habu, Kakure iwa-gani, purple land hermit crab, Ryukyu green frog, and the okagani! I was told that seeing three habu was quite rare. Although I couldn't see any coconut crabs in the jungle, I was thrilled to encounter a coconut crab standing alone at the observation deck at the end! The local guide's predictions were spot on.

Our guide, Taki, was so lively and calm, and I was surprised to learn he was only 19! He kept the conversation going on the bus.

When we arrived at Iriomote Island, it was raining, so I thought we wouldn't be able to see the stars or enjoy the ocean, but this jungle tour was actually wonderful because of the rain! We missed the morning session due to a mix-up on our part, but they gave us a discount, which was fantastic!

The trekking experience, where we changed our shoes, allowed us to feel the river's water temperature on our skin, bringing back the joy of childhood. It was my first time trying stand-up paddleboarding, and I was nervous about falling in, but sitting cross-legged while paddling let me enjoy the scenery in detail, making it a wonderful time! I was advised not to bring my smartphone, so I left it behind. Instead, they took photos at key moments and sent them to me via LINE. Such great service! Even when we were quite behind during the canoeing with kids, they kindly chatted with us to lighten the mood, creating great memories. Everyone was cheerful and pleasant. 子連れカヌーでかなり出遅れていたときも世間話をして和ませてくれたり親切にしてもらい、いい思い出になりました。皆さん明るくて感じよかったです。

The guide was quick on their feet and flexibly took us to a spot where we could see the stars while they were still visible. The starry sky in Iriomote Island was truly wonderful. During the night walk, we encountered many creatures like coconut crabs, habu snakes, hermit crabs, and possibly a brown hawk owl, which made for great memories for my child who loves animals. There was also another small child in our group, and I was grateful that the guide was very attentive to them. The tour provided insect repellent, lights, and since the terrain was rough, they lent us boots, so we didn't need any special equipment. It was hot, but since we sometimes walked through dense vegetation, I think long sleeves and long pants are a good idea. Thank you very much for this experience.

I used Beltora for the first time in a while. The weather was a bit unpredictable with clouds, sunshine, and sudden downpours, but I had a great time. Since I wanted to explore the islands on Ishigaki Island for the first time, I chose a hotel near the terminal. Iriomote Island is full of nature, including mangroves. On the way to Yubu Island, we suddenly encountered a downpour! The water buffalo was lively, though! I had to buy a raincoat to get to the restaurant, and as expected, the downpour stopped right after, and the return trip on the water buffalo cart was sunny (laughs).

Lunch was a standard bento, and nothing particularly memorable stood out. The water buffalo cart on Taketomi Island had great weather, and the water buffalo, Manei-kun, was lively too! We toured the island while listening to the brother's sanshin song, even though walking was clearly faster. It was a cycle of walking a few steps and stopping in the shade. We took a sightseeing bus to the beach with star sand and managed to find and pick up a little bit of star sand. It was nice that there was someone from the same hotel among the tour participants.

星の砂があるビーチまで観光バスで行き頑張って星の砂少しだけど探して拾えました。
たまたまツアー参加者の中に同じホテルの方がいて良かったです。

Arranging your own island-hopping transportation can be a hassle, so I think it's best for beginners to efficiently explore the islands with this tour and then find their favorite island afterward.

Lunch on Yufu Island was delicious, featuring various local ingredients. There was plenty of food, so make sure to come hungry.

I wasn't quite sure about the bus tour details until I participated, so I'll outline the route I took. First, we spent about 15 minutes searching for star sand at Kaiji Beach. The guide will show you how to look for it. If you want to take some home, it's a good idea to bring a ziplock bag for the star sand. We didn't stop at Kondoi Beach, so if you want to go there, consider the rental bicycle plan. After that, we took a stroll down the streets of traditional houses on Taketomi Island. Along the way, we enjoyed ice pops from a local shop and took photos on the street.

This tour involves checking in in the morning to receive tickets for the boat and activities, then gathering at the designated time to have your tickets collected before moving on to the experiences. You'll travel on the same boat as customers from other tour companies.

Seating on the boat is first-come, first-served, so if you want a window seat or to sit with your family, make sure to arrive at the time indicated for boarding. Depending on the boat's departure timing, there might be instances where you can't board early, but this time we were able to board early each time, allowing us to enjoy the window seats.

このツアーは、朝受付で船やアクティビティのチケットをもらい、時間になったら集まってチケットをもぎってもらって移動や体験、という形のツアーです。他社のツアーのお客さんとおなじ船で移動します。

船の席は先着順になるので、窓際の席や家族と一緒の席に座るなら船の出発ギリギリに行かずに、船に乗れますよ、と案内される時間にしっかり集まる必要があります。船の出発のタイミングによって早めに乗れないこともありそうですが、今回は毎回早めに乗ることができたので、窓際の席を楽しめました。

Canoeing in the mangroves was very pleasant and allowed me to experience something out of the ordinary; it was fun. 前日にバラス島への上陸が波風の影響で出来なくなり急遽由布島観光のツアーに代替となりましたが水牛に乗ってゆっくり観光するのも楽しく良い思い出になりました。
ガイドの方も楽しくお話ししてくださる方で良かったです。
カヌーはお尻や膝下が濡れるのでズボンや下着の着替えを持って行くことをおすすめします。

It was my first time on Iriomote Island, and thanks to our tour guide Tacky, we had a fun day. My husband and I chose canoeing, but I think stand-up paddleboarding would be great for those with more stamina. They also took photos and sent them to us for free! Due to the weather, we couldn't go to Barasu Island, but it was nice that they suggested a combination with another tour the day before. Since there are no transportation options like taxis, they kindly stopped by a supermarket and recommended delicious restaurants before taking us back to the hotel, which was really helpful. I would definitely recommend this tour company when visiting Iriomote Island.

I participated in a night tour and mangrove SUP at Pipi, as well as a tour of Yubu Island!! ✨ Our guide, Ryusei, was kind and funny, providing detailed information about Iriomote Island along the way, which was really enlightening—there's so much you wouldn't know unless you join the tour! I'm really glad I did it! ♡

The night tour was amazing with so many creatures to see, and it had a completely different atmosphere compared to Iriomote Island during the day! (*^^*) I was super excited to see animals like coconut crabs, habu snakes, fireflies, and owls, which I’ve never seen on the mainland! (*^^*)

The next day's SUP was also wonderful, surrounded by impressive mangroves that felt like something out of a Studio Ghibli film. Ryusei kindly taught us how to paddle, so I was able to fully enjoy the mangroves while having fun on the SUP! ♡

Riding a water buffalo to cross to Yubu Island was thrilling, and seeing the plants and butterflies on Yubu Island was the best!

Even though I met the other participants for the first time, we all had a great time together, which is the charm of travel tours, right? ♡ It was so much fun!!! Thank you for the two wonderful days! ♡

Paddling through the mangrove-filled river on a stand-up paddleboard was a lot of fun. The weather was great, and the dappled sunlight filtering through the trees was beautiful. The gentleman took many photos for us, and every picture turned out beautifully, leaving us very satisfied. Interacting with the water buffalo named Rui on Yufujima, being able to take photos, and enjoying delicious gelato were all wonderful experiences, making for a very enjoyable day. This experience took place in bad weather. Canoeing in the rain was enjoyable, especially since we were among the mangroves where the rain didn't bother us at all! It was very disappointing that we couldn't land on Barasu Island due to the bad weather, but the cave exploration in such challenging conditions was thrilling, and I'm glad I participated. I also visited a tourist limestone cave in Ishigaki, but it was completely different from this experience. If you're coming to Iriomote, I highly recommend immersing yourself in nature. The guide was very kind and constantly checked on us throughout the experience. I would love to participate again when I come back to Iriomote.

今回は悪天候の中の体験でした。雨の中のカヌーでしたがマングローブの中だと雨も気にならずに十分楽しめました！悪天候のためバラス島に上陸出来なかったのはとても残念でしたが、それでも足元が悪い中の洞窟探検はスリル満点で参加して良かったです。観光用の鍾乳洞も石垣島で行きましたがそれとは全然別物でした。せっかく西表に来たなら自然いっぱいの体験をおすすめします。始終声をかけてくださりガイドさんもとても優しかったです。また西表に来た時は参加したいなと思います。

This time, we were not blessed with good weather and couldn't see the starry sky, but we were lucky to encounter many precious creatures such as coconut crabs, owls, and habu snakes. In the mangroves of Iriomote Island, the rain added to the atmosphere, and I was overwhelmed by the beauty of nature's formations!

On Yubu Island, we leisurely crossed the path connecting Iriomote Island and Yubu Island, which was filled with seawater, while being pulled by a water buffalo cart. Along the way, our guide played the sanshin, allowing us to enjoy a relaxed Okinawan atmosphere! We had lunch at a botanical garden and were able to taste Okinawan cuisine!

On the final stop at Taketomi Island, we rode in a water buffalo cart and leisurely explored the village while listening to the sanshin! We could also rent bicycles to visit famous spots around the island!

Before I knew it, it was already time to head back, and I felt like there was still so much more to experience!

*When traveling around each island, the distances between locations can be significant, so it might be more efficient to join a tour or similar activities.*

Overall, I enjoyed a relaxed plan. The water buffalo took their time resting and moving around, which added to the leisurely atmosphere and was just wonderful! The boat tour on the Nakagawa River was enjoyable with explanations about the mangroves. It was easy to understand and increased my awareness of the surroundings. Taketomi Island has a distinct Okinawan feel, and the streets are beautiful! Since we need to be mindful not to disturb the residents, we must pay attention to manners. It rained a little, but that added to the charm. However, I heard that when it's sunny, the sky reflects beautifully in the sea on the way to Yufu Island, so I want to try again. Since it's a subtropical climate, insect repellent is a must.

全体的にゆったりプランで楽しめました。水牛が気分で休んだり、動いたり、そういう所も含めてゆるやかでゆったりしていて、最高でした！
仲間川の遊覧は、マングローブの解説など楽しめました。わかりやすくて、目の付け所が増えました。竹富島は沖縄感があって、街並みがステキ！住人に迷惑をかけるので、マナーに気をつけないといけないです。少し雨が降っていましたが、それもまた趣あって良かったです。でも晴れたら由布島に渡るまでの海に空が映って綺麗とのことだったので、またリベンジしたいです。亜熱帯気候なので、虫除け必須です。
